Rylan elected to follow Vivien after a moment's hesitation. Too many questions bubbled in his mind, and now that he had her right in front of him... He had to ask. "Imp?" was his first response. "He... nearby. Should I keep him close?" And then he shook his head, because there were other things that he needed to ask. Other things he wanted to understand. "Vivien. The sea cliffs. What did you see out there?" he began. "Your mother, she said you'd found something out there. I tried to ask Liam, but he... that ring in your jacket." Rylan shrugged helplessly. "I keep chasing this trail you've left, and I haven't really gotten answers. Can you tell me?" shibrogane here son have a tag if that's alright w you

"They know wargs when they see them," says Vivien. She keeps her back turned to him. "They would think it good sport to catch him. They wouldn't care if they hurt him, as long as in the end he was caught." She shifts her weight, sort of--as best a living raincloud could--and shakes her head side to side. "I found... I found another world... where Liam had grown old and left me. Where I was..." Vivien's shoulders roll. "Dead," she says, like a bounty-hunter throwing down her target. Like a gunshot breaking cranial bone. "I'm dead now," she says.

s**t. His mind spun as he tried to wrap it around Vivien's words. Catch him? They wouldn't dare. And yet. "I don't suppose it'd be enough to keep him far away..." he said, feeling completely disconnected from the voice that came out of him. There was a dull shock there that he should have seen coming. Should've listen to everyone who told him not to come here tonight. To steer clear of whatever magic was at play. That had been a stupid move on his part. Rylan couldn't fathom what he would do if Imp suffered for it. "Another world?" he said finally, coming back to the present. "Was it the future? ... My world?" She was, after all, no longer alive in this version of Ashdown. And Liam, apparently, had married someone else. "You are," he added sadly. Would that he could have helped her, somehow. "Are you here tonight for a reason?"

"I don't know," says Vivien. "I... the girl before, the one with no mask, she asked if I had left something unfinished, if I was here to help. I wanted to talk to Liam. I wanted to tell him it was alright, that I understood why he didn't save me. But I saw his face... I knew that he could've. And in that moment I knew I didn't forgive him. He was willing to ruin the world, to change it to the world you know, for his husband. Why wasn't he willing to do that for me?" She says, "Cam Rylan... I know that name."

"Liam is here?" Rylan asked, curious as to why he hadn't noticed the man. There would've been some recognition there, he figured. "Where did you see him? I was hoping to talk to him more, after the last time I saw him. I... returned your ring to him, actually." He paused and looked at her, curiosity mounting with every word. "You do?" he asked. "Well, I met you out at the sea cliffs a few weeks ago. We climbed, you led me to your leather jacket. But... I guess I don't know if you might've known me in your time." Maybe a different him, in a different life. Who knew.

Vivien looks at him. She looks for a long time. "He's in the red mask," she says. "He saw me. He... I had to leave. I ran away."

"Red mask," he echoed, thoughts falling into place. "You said he was willing to ruin the world? What did he do? Is he behind all of this... magic?" Could one person be capable of doing something like that?
