~Keshani and her sister have a sudden encounter,in which the lighter coated mare explains some of the recent goings-on of her life, including the stallions she calls hers.~ Quote: Kesha: *gives a final smile* All in all, I think I have done well for myself. Quote: Takhi: Mmm, that you did, sister mine Quote: Kesha: *makes an amused noise* I am flattered you would agree. Quote: Takhi: -curls her tail around her back leg and gives her sister a half-lidded look- Good taste is shared in the blood, I suppose. Quote: Kesha: It is not the only thing, it seems.. *shifts slightly on her cloven hooves* Have you seen Avant? He has quite the pair of lovebirds himself. And three children besides. Father is thrilled, two of them are bloodthirsty enough to make him proud, and they favor his teachings. Quote: Takhi: I haven't seen him though I can't say I'm surprised. -she shrugs and looks her sister over- Speaking of, how has father been? Quote: Kesha: You might be when you see who and what they are... Then again, father did raise us to be proud regardless what the pureblood Kalona may think, and Avant certainly took well to such teachings. *she flicks a wing* Father is well enough. He finds amusements where he can, and has taken to tormenting our uncle whenever possible. There was an issue with a Skinwalker not long ago, it appears he still bitterly hates them, after what became of our mother. Quote: Takhi -raises a brow- Is that so? -she pauses and listens as her sister speaks of their father- I see. Some things change, some remain the same -she muses, her tail giving a twitch- A shame, that. Mother. At the very least she hasn't done anything of enough importance to interest us. No hellspawn biting at our hooves. -she speaks matter-of-factly, as though she has first-hand knowledge- Quote: Kesha: *dips her head faintly, the light catching on her horns* I see him regularly enough, though not by traipsing through his lands. It is my understanding a wounded traveler or two made that mistake, which led to amusement for a time. A walker was the cause of at least one of the injuries, and when they came to his territory he was glad to dispatch them. Still, it does seem strange that mother appears to have gone, and as you said there have been no troublesome children to haunt our steps. *she tilts her head* By the by, Sister Mine, wherever have you been and what have you been up to while gone? I trust you found your own entertainments?

Quote: "Who knows the reasonings of our mother. I suspect there is none, mad old beast." She chuffed and shrugged her shoulders. "I've been in no place in particular. Finding more disappointments than entertainments, I'm afraid." Takhi followed her words with a short and wry laugh. She shifted her weight and moved her tail. When she spoke again the almost sounded wistful, her eyes scanning over the horizon. "I've yet to find a place that suits my taste, let alone any companions remotely worth the time. Everything has been so..." her nose wrinkled and she looked back to her sister. "Mundane."

Quote: Keshani shifted on her hooves again, the silken material of her adornments whispering with the movement. She wasn't sure if Takhi had noticed them, or if they mattered to her if she did... But then, it had been so long since she'd spoken with her sister, there was no telling what to expect. "There is that, I suppose. I trust you have not seen her then, even if your wandering." The mare paused to smile. "If things were so mundane, it hardly seems likely that you crossed paths with a Skinwalker. Even one so ineffective as our mother. Still, I am sorry that you've wandered to no success, I would have hoped companions or some entertainment would have been found during your travels. It has been an age since we've seen you, after all. I was beginning to think mother had found you and eaten you."

Quote: Takhi had noticed the adornments and was curious about them. She'd find the appropriate time to ask about them. "It has been a while," she murmured, low. Her eyes dropped. That it had. She'd met individuals, but none struck her enough to become fixtures in her life any longer than a brief interaction. As Keshani continued to speak she chuckled. "No, mother hadn't found me." Takhi paused. "I found her, though. If not from afar."

Quote: Takhi seemed, quieter, than Keshani remembered from her youth... Though Kesha could admit that may have just been the haze of memory and the thoughts of a foal, when everything seemed more and bigger and brighter and different than how she viewed matters as an adult.
"One might venture to say too long." Kesha murmured, more a tease than anything. "As some of our kindred are fond of saying, Fayths Stick Together... Though I suppose we of the dark are farther wandering than they, and have little care for doing as they think we aught." The soft sound of her sister's laughter was familiar, though the words following it were not quite expected.
"Did you now? My, I am surprised. Here, or in your wanderings elsewhere? I have noticed quite a few of the creatures have been wandering into the world, with stranger and darker twists to their nature. I trust you will have care for them. Distance would be prudent, as you practiced with our mother." Not that there was a need to warn her sister away from danger, but after this long apart Kesha couldn't help but think she'd rather Takhi stayed well, if not near.

Quote: Fayths Stick Together. Takhi blinked. There hadn't been any doubt in her mind that he family would be there whenenver she would have needed them. She just... couldn't explain it, really. Some sort of itch took over her. Filled her mind. It was the need to find... something. In her youth the it was to destroy. To pick and tear things apart. The destructive antics of her youth became dull with age. She wanted something bigger. Some game, some chase that had more thrill. More reward. The concept of a chase, of a hunt, made her think of the Skinwalkers. Made her think of her mother. Her mother had changed after she had given birth to them, but perhaps there was always a hunting monster existed somewhere deep down in Kanti even then, maybe some of that--the need for a hunt--existed in Takhi now. The thought of it made her suppress a shudder. Instead she turned her attention back to her sister and have a toothy grin, "Of course. Never stand upwind of the beasts, and such. I hope you don't think me a fool, sister dearest."

Quote: For all that she, and Avant, had traveled, Keshani felt their paths had been somewhat circular. Takhi, as far as she had known, Takhi had set her hooves on a path and didn't seem to have looked back. Wherever her sister had gone, wide ranging and distant, Kesha had not considered following, but she had wondered. Still, it was good to have Takhi back. Right, somehow. So much so that Kesha would not even press her for details on where she had gone or why... At least, not at the moment. For all that they were not precisely prone to fits of emotion, Kesha felt a certain kind of balance restored at the presence of her sibling, though it appeared that not all was right with Takhi.
"I wouldn't dare even hint that you were anything of the kind, of course." Kesha returned smoothly, her silver eyes bright with something approaching amusement. "I rather think that if you were, this conversation would be significantly more one-sided than it is. Since you are here, you clearly need no warnings about watching out for trouble. Still, as I am fond of you I felt it best to express it somehow. Is encouraging your continued existence too emotional? I will strive to do better, I assure you."
Shifting faintly on her hooves and flicking her spaded tail, Kesha turned a more serious look on her sibling. "Are you well, truly, Takhi? I trust that if something happened, that spurred you to wandering or to return, you would share it with me."

Quote: "I am alright, I assure you." Takhi responded with little pause after her sister's questioning. She was silent for a moment and furrowed her brow. "To be honest I couldn't tell you much about why I left if I wanted to. I just..." She sighed and shook her head. This was getting too much to be a 'lets talk about our feelings and be cute, normal siblings' moment. The mare supposed it couldn't be helped. An ear twitched and she shifted her weight again. It felt relieving to be back. Seeing her sister again, being reminded of the family she had, it filled some sort of hollow inside of her. Still, she didn't feel... full. Whole.
"I feel as though I am... seeking something. Though the particulars of that something are beyond me, I suppose. Just... something more." The explanation was a weak one, but it was better than nothing. Takhi gave a wry smile. "The lands afar hold little for me, I have found assurance of that. Now it is a matter of finding something for me in the lands here."

Quote: At her sister's response, Keshani inclined her her head in an accepting nod. Very well then, if Takhi was well, that was the end of it. Kesha rather imagined her sister was not the sort to fawn, at least, their father hadn't raised them as such and Kesha herself wasn't much inclined to start it now. If Takhi wanted to keep her secrets, Keshani would let her, at least until they became too compelling and begged to be sought out. Then Keshani would, and depending what she found, she might even seize them and drag them into the light for others to look upon. But those were thoughts for another time, and neither here nor there at the moment.
"Your decisions on your own, far be it from me to question them or your motives." Kesha replied coolly. "I merely wondered. Avant and I spend an afternoon here and there discussing it, while you were gone. I won't say there was a wager of any kind, for if there were you might find me more insistent on the topic."
Kesha snapped her teeth, the expression abruptly predatorial. "Unless it seemed Avant may be correct, then I would have to commence bribing you to say the opposite or never reveal it. He's insufferable when he's winning the game, or thinks he's winning. I've only just taken him down a peg from his last victory."
The mention of seeking made Kesha tilt her head, contemplative. Her sire's legacy was a hungry one, Aveshar himself always seeming unsettled or discontent. A game might distract him for a time, or a pet amuse him for a moment, but then he was off again. Hunting. Searching. Restless. It was why she and Avant played their games, hunted for sport, courted so energetically. Not that she was sure there was a distant way to share such things with her sister. A talk such as that drew perilously close to, what did the mares call it? Ah yes, "girl talk".
Kesha gave a shudder, snorting derisively as she cast the thought aside. "Well, if elsewhere is so dull I am not sorry to have missed it. There are plenty of amusements to be found here, if you're so inclined. Chasing some of our brighter cousins might be an amusing way to pass the afternoon, though the golden one has found himself a guardian of the forest and befriended her. I wouldn't recommend getting too close, there's a bodyguard too. She managed to get a lucky hit on our father, he was unamused to say the least. The scratches across his muzzle were somewhat dashing, it a certain light. Mostly Avant and I worked to ensure our laughter did not reach his ears, I doubt his temper would have stood for insult added to injury."
