"The Oracles Tower is located on the farthest Island of the Maude, beyond the Khell. The people that live on that island all serve the Oracles Tower. All food is grown or raised upon the small island, none is ever imported no matter how dire the situation becomes.
Upon the Island only two hundred people are aloud to live and once they set foot upon the island they are never aloud to leave, not for medical attention, not to see family, not in death. Once one of the two hundred pass away someone is chosen from the Maude to come take their place.
All the Kings, Queens and Emperors have been crowned by an oracle since the beginning of the Empire, while only minor oracles leave to crown Kings and Queen The High Oracle only ever personally leaves in order to crown the Emperor and Emperor Consort, if the High Oracle does not approve of the Consort they are not officially recognized as the imperial consort, however this stipulation does not apply to the consorts of Kings and Queen.
The Oracles tower is made up entirely of a strange crystal that looks white from far off but within one hundred feet of the tower anyone can see that the tower is made up of pale blue crystals. Whenever the High Oracle has a prophecy, smoke comes from the top of the tower and the pale blue crystals turn a vibrant dark blue and pulse, Everyone that lives upon the island start to chant the prophecy and all work stops until the pulsing stops and the crystals return to normal.
The Oracles are in charge of prophecy within Epsilon and any child born with the gift of prophecy are immediately brought to the Oracles Tower to be inducted into the tower without exception. It is considered a very high honor and those families that have a child taken to the Oracles Tower are compensated for the rest of their lives well enough that they regularly have enough coin to buy themselves a low ranking noble status. Anyone can come to the Oracles tower to gain knowledge of a prophecy but they will only ever see a Minor Oracle as the High Oracle, referred to as Sibyl regardless of gender, is supposedly the most direct link one will ever get to speaking with the gods.
Currently only seven oracles, including the High Oracle, live in the tower. None of the Oracles are aloud to have children or even leave the tower without the High Oracles permission. In the Phoenix/Dragon forms wings are clipped while in human form all males on the island are Eunuch's and females are rendered barren, if one is found to have some how managed to avoid this process they are simply beheaded without ceremony. The people that reside on the island are trained in advanced hand to hand combat as weapons are forbidden upon the island [gardening items are locked up at sundown]
as of 203 Current Oracles Include: Male, High Oracle Sybil, age 102 Female, Oracle Enas, age 87 Female, Oracle Dyo, age 72 Female, Oracle Tria, age 57 Female, Oracle Tess, age 42 Male, Oracle Penta, age 42 Male, Oracle Exi, age 12 "
One oracle is born every 15 years, always on March 15th [excluding if the oracles are twins then after 30 years another oracle will be born]
A new High Oracle Sybil is chosen when one of the other current oracles prophesize the currents death, however they are not chosen until the current passes.
Anyone can come and see an Oracle at any time, but they will be checked to make sure that they are unarmed, if they aren't then they will be turned away. Once inside the tower you will be approached by an oracle as they see to none in any particular order.
Each Emperor is crowned by the High Oracle in the name of whichever god the High Oracle sees them associated with.

Hysteria Izadora Bellris Hair Large BraidClothing: Dress of StarsMood: Cool The dark phoenix landed at the edge of the oracles island and transformed back into a guard once Hysteria had climbed off. Wisps of hair had been pulled free around her head but the main braid was still in tact. "Stay here" she said to the guard before she picked up her skirts just enough so she could move freely. She would take the pathway though the farm land the, what were they, servants? farmed for the oracles. She would look up at the large crystal monstrosity not to far away and she would stop just outside the tower and bow her head to the guards "Please remain still while we check for weapons""Of course" she would respond before as she would hold out her hands and then lift her arms. She felt a few pats that made her uncomfortable but she said nothing of it before she was motioned inside once she was checked for weapons. She would then stop and move to the side as she removed her shoes, not necessary that she knew of, it just felt wrong wearing shoes inside a place that was basically one huge crystal. She would then move bare foot farther into the tower, moving up a flight of stairs in search of an oracle that was a little older, not that it mattered. She wondered if she was supposed to approach or one would approach her.

Oracle Enas The Oracle Enas, the eldest of the oracles besides the Sybil, sucked on a stick that emitted a chokingly horrible smoke that seemed to stick around her. She was still rather beautiful despite her old age, having not a wrinkle on her face and yellow eyes, her hands showed her age however with many wrinkles and age spots. It was almost like her hands had aged when her face had not. Her eyes would remain on the crystal floor as she coughed hard a few times to gain the attention of a young attendant. She would point over to the woman in the blue dress. The attendant would walk over to the woman and guide her over to the Oracle Enas and once the woman would be within ear shot Enas would chuckle slightly "I thought you might like to speak to someone more your age" Enas said as she put down her stick and held out her hands "hands on mine" she said in a hoarse voice as she blew out some smoke.

Hysteria Izadora Bellris Hair Large BraidClothing: Dress of StarsMood: Creeped out Hysteria allowed the attendant to lead her over to an oracle and at first glace she seemed friendly enough but when she looked at her hands she hesitated. Her hands and her face did not match and it was unnatural in her eyes but Hysteria would slowly sit on her knees in front of the woman. These people had a direct connection to the gods and it would have been disrespectful to refuse. Hysteria would slowly reach out her hands and place them into the wrinkled fingers of the Oracle "I had a specific question I wanted answers to" she said to her as she would watch her before looking around to see if anyone else was listening in on the conversation. The fact that the Oracle already knew was bad enough and she didn't need anyone else privy to the information "For three years now I have been without magic. I want to know if their is a way to regain it. Being without it. It isn't good."

Oracle Enas The Oracle Enas chuckled slightly as she looked at Hysteria's hands "Are you asking for Hysteria or Artemisia... no I guess it does not matter" the oracle would whisper as she rubbed her wrinkled thumbs over Hysteria's hands before pulling away and picking up her still smoking pipe "You haven't lost your magic its just been bound inside you by a being that has the power to do so" Enas said as she twirled her pipe between her fingers before bringing it to her lips. She would take a long deep breath and she would hold it before finally letting it go and blowing the smoke upward in order to let it curl around the ceiling "What you once had dealt with the soul. Magic dealing with the soul was never rare in your line and it manifested in every queen all the way down to Hysteria, if she had been allowed to grow into her power she would have been able to control the spiritual flame and leave the body a shell, Its likely a lot of people were spared when she choked on that lemon tart. If she had been as nuts as you hide then everyone would have been screwed... Bellris would be the new Empire, but everyone would have been dead. You Bellris women tend to have problems when it comes to power" The Oracle Enas went off a little bit before grinning slightly "In order to gain your power back and feel whole again she used air quotes around whole before she took another intake of smoke "You will have to create a bracelet of blue whispers. It will suck away your outer appearance. The body you have now will slowly be replaced by the one you were meant to have before your first death. When this fake body is stripped from you the limitation placed upon the body by the greater one will be stripped away as well. The magic that was born within the body will return to the being as it wants it to and you will return to who you are supposed to be" The Oracle would say before shrugging and looking away from her "Until you start causing discrepancies again." The woman blew out the smoke one more, this time it came out blue and circled around the cloudy white smoke "A warning though. Like a body the soul will get weary and tired. The longer you go the more likely you will fall to faults as even the gods were once mortal in body and soul until they rose above all others... and they to had to die to get to the place they were meant to be, all you would be doing is delaying your process."

Hysteria Izadora Bellris Hair Large BraidClothing: Dress of StarsMood: Creeped out Hysteria frowned "I see." she whispered softly as she thought on it. To return to the old body she was supposed to have. Not this one, not the governess, not Kastara...But Artemisia. That was troublesome. She liked the beauty that came with this body, the youth of it. Did that mean she was to become an old woman in exchange for power? that didn't mean she would have to stay one right? She was trying to figure out the catch. Her original body had died young but her soul had continued to age, that much she was certain about. She just had to discern weather she was going to end up the same age as her soul or the age she had last been before she first switched. "Thank you" she said as she stood up and bowed to the Oracle. She had more to think about. She would walk back down the stairs and out of the crystal tower feeling as if the Oracle had did her exact job. Confusing her even more. [exit]

Alistair Drosselmeyerspring had come to the land. it was a good thing for those that lived by farming. not that it mattered much. He felt even more tired then he had the night before. by this time the empire would either finally be under the rightful empress or the leaders would prove that they really could not see the forest for its trees. That mattered little to him, Alistair, as he made his way to the land of the oracles. he felt his body hum as he looked at the crystal, images quickly flashing as he walked inside. he wondered how this worked. but he hoped who he met would be able to answer some questions.

Ali Ababva, Lord Xerseis Gone's the wisdom Of a thousand years A world in fire and chains and fear
As he predicted, the skies were clear and did not change even as he reached Phoebos again. Most of the way home, it was a simple matter to turn his course to the island of the oracles, whom he had never personally visited before in his life. The blue of the radiant crystals around him caught his scales and continued to reflect, casting him in a blue light though he had yet to personally change the color of his scales.
He, from the landing, looked about himself, uncertain of where to go or what to do. He took a slow breath, and then released it... then he shed his scales out of respect for the prophets and seers that lived here. He adjusted his clothes and waited.... uncertain of what to do now. He visited, but if nothing happened, he was quite prepared to head home. Fortunately, it wasn't too far.
"Honored oracles, I visit at the behest of the empress, and know not why." Well.... more honestly, he had a guess, but it wasn't enough to validate by affirming that he knew what it was.

Oracle Exi When the crystal dragon landed the guards took no time moving in front of the crystal towers entrance "please stand still and be subject to inspection" the guard, a man taller then Xerseis but with black hair, silver eyes and dark skin, would say while the second guard would move forward and begin to pat the Lord down. Xerseis hair was gazed upon and then his neck would be subject to check, then hands would be placed upon his chest and slowly move down before being moved back up, his arms would be patted down before the guard would move onto his legs to do the same before moving back. While he had been patted down the silver eyed guard would turn to someone that had come to the doorway and listen to the whispers before turning back once the inspection was done. The guard would announce "He carries no concealed weapons. Please remove your shoes and proceed inside. The Oracle Exi is located on second floor and will speak with you" The two guards would then step aside in order to let him pass. When the Lord would eventually make it to the second floor the Oracle Exi would be sitting on a pillow and dressed in the purest white clothing made out of purest silk, his head and eyebrows were shaved off and paired with his youth the boy looked rather effeminate. The young boy would look up at the older male and grin "Welcome to the tower, one that has yet to see the fruit of his dreams"" the boy patted his knees "You've been the subject of quite a few topics recently, Defying fate when fate favours you has never worked in anyones favour. Everyone here has been debating as to how far you will go or if your desire for perfection will be your down fall." the boy tapped his knees once more beofore finally stopping "Sit sit, and ask away. I am at your service Lord Ababva"

Would the master of secrets carry a weapon into a bastion of arcane knowledge?
Fortunately, he was wise enough for the answer to be simply, no. No he wouldn't. And he wouldn't entertain the thought because there was no point in threatening the oracles. They spoke their minds and their inspirations, and frankly, that was their choice. Or... destiny. Fate was never something that ever came with facts.
He didn't know what to do with prophesies... he usually lumped them into similar categories where rumors and proven stories were placed. He entered after leaving his shoes behind, and at the behest of the young oracle, he sat down. Was he really spoken of so often? He was surprised.
"If I may... what conversations include me as a topic? What interest does fate have in my doings?"

Oracle Exi Oracle Exi giggled in a way that made him look like a mouse with his the sides of his nose raised slightly and his mouth open to reveal to oversized front teeth "Nothing to important. The gods do not give us information that is irreverent so no one knows all the bits and pieces" Oracle Exi let his eyes roam around the second floor for a moment as if he was searching for someone before bringing them back to the count, tapping on his knees once again "We speak about how with your age and mannerisms it's unlikely that you will reach the completion of all of your dreams. We speak of which one you would most prefer to watch become the unreachable 'perfect fruit' that you will never be able to take a bite out of." Oracle Exi lowered his head but kept his eyes on the Phobosian Lord "Most are in agreement that you will watch your perfection fade away in order to better your house instead of yourself since you are fleeting but your house and descendants could remain hundreds of years beyond you." the Oracle Exi clicked his tongue before moving his head back up "One or two however think that you have a hidden narcissism that will keep you from falling from perfection but in turn destroy your house and lead to the loss of any seed you might plant for future generations." The Oracle Exi smiled as he said this, almost as if such things were just normal conversations to have with people and in a way it was. He was always around oracles "As for fates hand in your doings" Exi closed his eyes for a moment as if he needed to think, the tapping on his knees stopping now in order to lay at rest upon his thighs before he opened them again "Fate is capricious. It is not associated with any god for the good reasoning that Fate comes before them. It is difficult for even the oracles to surmise because of how fickle it is, The great oracle Sybil has the best connection with it but as far as us less blessed can figure, Fate as a thing for gold" he raised one hand and curled his small fingers in order to point at his eyes, the tips of his fingers were scarred with tiny needle like dots "Those born with golden in the eyes are the favourites of fate while those that go collect it are the ones it tends to enjoy picking on" Exi put his hand back on his lap "We are aware of only five at this time that have pure gold eyes, one of which is dead." Oracle Exi tilted his head slightly "You, The Ethen Duchess, The Dark Dragon King, and your late superior the Duke Achmetha who is dead but whos son inheirited them. As far as we are aware the golden eyes are a dominant feature that get passed down but we don't know why Fate chooses to bless the sons of those with golden eyes" Oracle Exi shrugged and started patting his legs again "Those with golden eyes are blessed by fate to reach great heights and to do great things, many are meant to become Kings, warlords, Leaders, and even more likely to rise to godhood upon death. All gods have golden eyes for some reason, Look at the statues of Agni, Leo, Mnelrolth, and Sol. The only gods that don't have golden eyes are the gods of the moon and they have silver which as far as we know mean they're abandoned by fate, and no one alive save our guard at the ground floor entrance has silver eyes so we've never been able to fully study that."

Ali Ababva, Lord Xerseis Gone's the wisdom Of a thousand years A world in fire and chains and fear
The oracles took keen interest in current events, it seemed.
The crystal dragon was silent as he listened to the oracle speak. Most of it was information he couldn't verify and some of it seemed to slant on the side of public opinion and less on the facts that he knew he could work with. For instance, suggesting that his house would die and that he would have no children implied that he didn't have others he would marry. But then, that was all on him and whether or not he reached out to court any of the suitable ladies of Phoebos, and there were a few daughters of knights among them who were draconic, and therefore would be honored to be wed to a lord of his pedigree.
It was interesting to hear the young oracle's opinion of his eyes. Yes, these eyes were ones he had inherited from his father, and who had earned them from his father, for as long as the Xerseis line were a family. Though each generation had slowly brightened their scales until such a point where they were as bright and clear as his own. He already doubted that any of his children would have such translucent scales, but nevertheless, he was a dragon, and he did understand that he had the chance to 'improve' his family legacy.
He simply doubted that it was worth sacrificing his worth as a dragon to be wed to someone he did not trust. He thought he might have trusted the princess, who was brave enough to go to battle, as few women were wont to do. However, on hearing of her escapades even after he proposed, he doubted seriously about her loyalty, and he did not want his family named tied to any with a reputation of disgrace.
So, in a way, the oracle was very right. In another way, Xerseis was confident that the Oracle might not have understood the entire story.
"I'm surprised that you're focusing on the color of my eyes."
Of all things, why not the content of his character and the kind of man he had proven himself to be? While he might have broken hearts, he did not steal virtue and he did not betray. He did not rush to war, but that did not mean that he was any less a man for being aware of his duty and why he was loyal to the things he was. And indeed, why even he took the idea of his progeny so seriously. But would the oracles know this? Would the child before him understand the depths of his concern?
None among them were destined to be gods. That was a matter of the soul, if anything, and it was a matter of the gods. A man could become great by his own hands. A servant could break free. A king could fall. Circumstances could change. Even a baroness might rule a nation, as they had clearly seen.
"Why would the empress have me visit you, high one?"

Oracle Exi Oracle Exi tilted his head very slowly as his eyes would flash in iridescent blue and the smile upon his youthful face would fade as those pupils would continue to change between the dark brown he held to the light crystaline blue for a few more minutes before settling on the crystal blue, his cheerful voice had vanished "The more gold you have in your eyes the more you can see that is not of this world. The gods want them and when you die the gods will take your eyes and replace their own so that they can see the threads of fate and continue the work of the gods that have fallen." the oracles mouth opened and his lips formed an O "The one that wants your eyes is no god but one that knows of their ways and can use the whispers to gain whispers. The one that wants your eyes will use them to grab hold of the lines of fate that should have felt the burning of their sins befall them and she will slam down the silver scales of the god of justice"The Oracle Exi raised one of his hands and spread his fingers appart, rolled his wrist and crushed something invisible in his fist before slamming it down on the floor and once again spread his fingers once more. The room would stop and all the buzzing noises of people talking would become silent while many came to look over at Oracle Exi as he then continued "A Castle will fall and thousands will die, from the souls a castle of whispers will form. Crystals holding white winged creatures...false gods that hold the power of gods, will wash up from a city far below a watery graveyard. They will reclaim all that is glass and begin what they began long ago and all those with leathery wings will be subject to gaze upon an army of hatred and power so terrible and great it became nothing in the end." Exi stared at the Lordly Phobosian "When one can only hear whispers and is mostly deaf to the gods words they need someone else to relay the full message. The Empress only acted as a way to relay a request to bring you here as she can only hear whispers when the Oracles can hear full homilies. Lord Xerseis Ali Ababva, Count of Phobos, and Son of Zalto and Phobos. A god that grins in wickedly when he sees your Zalton blood mix with that of the Dark Dragons.Whom applauds how far you have come with your secrets and how you have molded your craft. Thalmas sees you and wants you to act as his heir." Exi came to a stop as if he was in real time translating and interpreting what the god wanted him to say "He wishes you to be it the highest power you can come in to but will not force your marriage to anyone you think is unworthy of the mighty dragons blood, however. Thalmas desires you to wear his crown and change one blessed by the moon and the mists into one blessed by Wys."

Ali Ababva, Lord Xerseis Gone's the wisdom Of a thousand years A world in fire and chains and fear
The cyrstalline dragon expected few things out of his life. He didn't expect there to be much in this conversation with the oracles, or even this particular young man. He also wasn't expecting much beyond a shrug. The paranormal, or even the divine or occult, was outside of his realm of experience. He knew enough to respect the divines and the gods, but he didn't expect that they took individual care in their followers. There were so many among the gods already that he felt they found more entertainment in foiling eachother's plans than in what mortals did.
Ethe's faith, clearly, meant something there, for what happened in the nation's growth. But Xerseis had little room for faith in his business, in his work, and in his skills that he had spent decades refining. Facts were reinforced by proof. Multiple account of the same incident proved further these things. But faith had nothing to do with these discoveries, for the things he knew, and for the many things that he could do with that information.
And the gods thought to deign him with their awareness of him for something as temporary as his eyes? Which might turn chalky with age and lose their pigment? Gold might have been symbolic to the divine, but even among mortals, it could lose its worth.
The dragon sat in silence for many, many minutes. In this silence, he turned his attention again to his fingers, as though to study his nails.
Thalmus was the diety of choice, if he remembered his study. That meant....
A slow smile stretched across the dragon's pale face.
"Thank you for the enlightenment, high one. If I may, of all the oracles... were there any among you that discerned any true bond between myself and the one blessed of moon and mist?"
His eyes flit upward and he lowered his hands to his lap. His posture slid into a relaxed stance as he awaited the answer. How long had it been since he last spoke to a god? Or called upon one in prayer? Only when his father died. ... Ah, if even then. The heavens were silent that day.

Oracle Exi Oracle Exi looked at him with his unnatural blue eyes, a whisper could be heard behind him and the shape of a strange being would be seen by those with golden eyes for the briefest of moments. A very tall man with thing long white hair was bent over and whispering into Oracle Exi's ear, his eyes were hidden behind a mask of hanging metal strands and ivory horns protruded from his skull, his lips were hidden behind his large hand as he spoke into Exi's ear. The man would then turn his head just enough so that it would be clear that he knew that he could be seen. His thin bloodless lips would part to show teeth that were made of sharp pieces of metal that had slid down from his gums as if he had grown them in place of the natural bones that others had. Oracle Exi would widen his eyes in surprise for a moment before nodded "Those born to the yoke of the throne have always held two traits passed down to each generation that gave them the power to come as far as they have. To rule the unruleable which many over the years have chalked up to unparallelled charisma and to render fates by changing a persons path. The last to have the former was Emperor Marik while the last to have the latter was the exiled Prince Zigfred." The Oracle stopped speaking as the white haired man began to speak to him once more, his words wouldn't be heard by any others except for the oracle however and he would soon flicker from sight as if the eyes could no longer see him. The oracle would nod again and say "The gods never say anything straight." The young Oracle Exi seemed a little exasperated "The one blessed by moon and mist is the granddaughter of the last to rule the unruleable and the niece of the last to render fates. She has had her fate torn by the exiled prince and thus who she was meant to have a true bond with has been lost." a long pause "She has neither of theses abilities but within the children she was once destined to have they will return along with pure magic that has been lost since the first Empress and the mother of the Starlit maiden. Five children blessed to have the primordial power given only to monsters and those that have no temples." the boy tapped his hands against his knees as his eyes flashed between brown and blue once more "Because her fate was broken any true bond has been lost, but based on what Thalmas sees in you. He thinks that if you are looking for immediate love that you should look elsewhere but that if you are looking for your house to transcend you will find none better to bring out the highest form of power from your bloodline. It is likely that love will need much work on both sides. The empire will become strong and respected again with an Empress of war and and Emperor of thoughts, but that true bond must be retwisted from a fray. Thalmas thinks the choices you make could make fate rage and give you the ability to create your own bond with whomever you wish."
