(Back dating this a bit)

Quote:
The fight he’d arranged had been for late Thursday evening, since the convention started on Friday and lasted into Sunday evening. The plane back to Destiny city was planned for Monday morning, so they didn’t miss a thing, he also wanted to have the time to spend one last evening with his and Eunkyung’s elder cousin.

They could have found other means to get to New York but he hadn’t been interested in other means, they took longer and meant they’d have to leave earlier in order to make it by Thursday night. The reason he wanted to get there by Thursday night was so the three of them could settle into their hotel rooms and have all of Friday to start enjoying the convention...and maybe he’d see if Hyeon hyung was free Thursday evening for dinner - though he doubted it. He was sure his cousin, along with other idol groups, would be rehearsing and going over stage things but he was allowed to hope - right?

He’d packed enough clothing for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, monday and two extra outfits in case anything happened. He didn’t trust that he wouldn’t come into contact with some sort of mess or accident of one sort or another. He’d advised his younger cousin to do the same and had helped her in packing everything for the trip.

While standing there, a hand on his luggage, Seung took note of what he could see through the glass doors and it looked like chaos. Looking to Terry, as his cousin was close enough to hear him and had likely noticed already, and shook his head. “It looks packed...many people in there. Likely booked solid.”

Quote:
Eunkyung had enjoyed a short nap on the plane trip from Destiny City to New York and the trip, via cab, to the hotel hadn’t been bad either though the congestion and traffic in New York City wasn’t anything new to her but. The lights, the people, none of it was new to her having grown up in a major city as she had. But it was still a new city, made up of all different things, so she had grabbed a window seat in the cab in order to look out the window.

When the cab pulled up to the curb, outside the hotel, she was the first one out. Her loose curls swaying and bouncing behind her as she moved to the back of the cab to get their things from the trunk.

Long hair was brushed out of her face, and out of her way, as it got into her way when she bent to get the suitcases from the trunk. Dressed in a loose flowing skirt, something which looked rather cute and baby doll-ish, she had on a loose fitting top that was nice and airy so she didn’t swear or overheat in the summer heat. Little heels gave her some height, as she was rather tiny, and clicked against the sidewalk and pavement as she moved about unloading the suitcases before her cousin and his partner could do so.

Quote:
Terry had been sure to pack a few extra changes of clothes for himself as well, though his thought process was because that was how he normally did things when going on vacation and it wouldn’t been any different going to a short trip to a convention. He was glad there hadn’t been any problems on the flight over and while he had never been to New York he was quick to make sure the cousins got the window seats in the cab to the hotel, though Eunkyung snagged one quickly so he only had to worry about Seung sitting by a window. Once they were at the hotel he looked around at the crowd and then over to Seung when he spoke up. “Agreed. Do you want to get us checked in while I help Eunkyung with the luggage?” He asked as he moved to do just that.

Quote:
“Can do that.” Nodding his head to Terry, to show he understood and could check them in. Passing by Terry, headed toward his cousin, he gave the others shoulder a gentle squeeze. For his cousin he passed her money to cover the cab. That done he headed toward the rotating doors of the hotel they’d be staying at.

This wasn’t their first concert but it was the first convention for korean culture (especially music), he’d gone with a friend to anime conventions so had an idea of crowds and what they’d be like. He wasn’t expecting all the people he saw signing into the hotel when he stepped inside - there were a lot of people. Not just a lot of people but in groups and talking and all kinds of excited chatter and he spotted signs and other things that some were holding. Some of it wasn’t unexpected but the sheer amount of people, the hotel had to be booked solid with people for the convention - he was sure of it.

Stepping further into the entrance room, which was rather large and grand in appearance, Seung’s dark eyes took in everything they could. From the overworked, stressed out, looking staffers who were trying to help people get their things up to their rooms to the smiling, though tired looking, females behind the sign in counter. There were many females all over the place in groups, and some not, talking and chattering loudly and some of what was said he actually managed to understand as the volume of talking blurred out most of the actual words being spoken.

“Like packed concert...only at hotel.” He said to himself as he shook his head and made for the check in counter. This was going to take some time and in that time he had a feeling he’d gain a headache, due to all the talking and the echo of the big open lobby and sitting area.

Quote:
Taking the money from her elder cousin she went to pay the cab driver, leaving Terry with the luggage for a moment. When she returned, with a receipt, she was grasping the handle of her own luggage and staring up at Terry. “Thank you for helping me.” Gentle and soft spoken the teenager was happy to have his help, she appreciated it, but she was even more happy that her cousin had someone who, from what she could tell, cared about him.

She knew he hadn’t dated back home, and she was fairly certain she knew why. It was possible to hide such things here...harder back home and it was harder to approach someone who may or may not be of the same persuasion. Her cousin hadn’t had it easy and she knew it, she was glad Terry was in the picture now.

“We should head in quickly, many people means it will take time - lots of crowds.”

Quote:
He nodded at Seung when the other man agreed to go check them in, sending him a quick smile before focusing on the bags. “You’re welcome, I wasn’t about to leave you to have to deal with all of the luggage.” Terry responded to Eunkyung with a smile. He rather liked her and was glad that his boyfriend had a cousin such as her to have that family bonding time together. “I don’t doubt that in the slightest. Hopefully there is a place for use to hang around in out of the way while waiting.” He said as he gathered up most of the bags then waited for the young woman to be ready to head in.

Quote:
“Should have a sitting area, online pictures showed it.” It showed chairs and tables and couches and such, though she did wonder if anything was open and available for them to sit in. The place, as she headed inside with Terry at her side, was packed. She could see her cousin, almost lost behind other people waiting to check in, but there he was. “Should go find a couch or chairs.” She said to Terry, nodding her head in the direction of the sitting area. She couldn’t see it, due to a bookcase that was more decoration than anything, but hoped the masses of people were not filling up the area...though she suspected they were.

Quote:
When they got inside Terry’s eyes sought out Seung’s form briefly then he looked back to Eunkyung and gave a hum in agreement. “If nothing else we might find a place to be out of the way of the foot traffic.” He said then moved to the seating area. Luck was on their side though as just when they arrived a small party was leaving now that the person in their group was finished checking them in. He sat the bags down by the open chairs and claimed on while giving the young woman a smile. “We can even see the line from here so we can keep an eye on Seung.” He pointed out after he discovered this fact.

Quote:
“Oppa should be able to handle it all, has done it before.” Though not for a convention based around their culture but he’d been to conventions, with a friend of his from school. She and he had gone to concerts together, which did not require hotels at all. “The concerts will be easy to navigate - for me. Been to many with Seung oppa and Hyeon oppa.” That was how her elder cousin had been recruited to become an idol trainee - they’d all been at a concert.

“I hope Hyeon is free to spend time.” She knew Seung was hoping for that as well, the two were close. They were close in age and had often gone together to do various things, when not in school.

One leg moved to rest over the top of the other, her hands folding neatly into her lap. “You care for Seung oppa...is good. Has never dated before - couldn’t back home. I am happy you are here - that we are here.” Not here as in the hotel but that they had come to Destiny City and that Terry lived there.

Quote:
“I’m not doubting he can check in, but it helps to be able to see him to check on his progress and just in case he needs something from one of his bags.” Terry said with a nod. He had heard about Hyeon from them both, a little here and there, mostly thanks to the convention and had heard the music on the album that their cousin had put out with his group so he was looking forward to meeting with him. “I’m sure he will do his best to be able to spend time with you both.”

When Eunkyung brought up his feelings for Seung and the fact that the other man hadn’t dated before, Terry’s cheeks got slightly pink but gave smile. “Thank you. I’m very glad to have been able to meet you both, doubly so that your cousin returns my feelings for him.”

Quote:
Or in case he needed help speaking, she knew her cousin wasn’t as good with his English as she was. He had learned the language, everyone in South Korea did, but he hadn’t used it after his exam and he had focused more on Japanese. Not to mention they taught for the exam - not for basic normal conversation.

“I hope, it’s been long time...training to become an idol...and then after it.” They hadn’t been able to see him really, talk to him - yes but see him? No. And whenever they, herself or Seung, or another cousin spoke to him he seemed tired.

“I am glad he can express them here. Home it is...not done..not by most. Some do but rejection, friends, work...many things go bad. Famous people have also, two, one killed himself...other was not allowed on tv for long time. Opened us places to eat, still on bad terms with mother. It is not so friendly...was not something Seung would have done - dating someone.” Not at the risk of his parents, her aunt and uncle, finding out. He might have wanted to date someone but he wouldn’t, unsure on the other person and due to their family. Here he had more freedom.

Quote:
He could easily imagine how Hyeon would have little personal time to go and spend time with family when it came for training, but from what he had heard it had been just as bad if not worse after he got out of training. “We should check the schedule to see when his group is performing, he might have an easier time getting away for a bit afterwards.” He pointed out.

Terry nodded in understanding, Seung having told him about such before. It was why he was very careful not to do something to give them away when it came to Seung’s parents, not wanting to get the other man in trouble and causing a rift in his family. “I’m glad he has a bit more freedom here to do so.”

Quote:
“Yes, they might. Hopefully it is first night and not last night.” Then he wouldn’t be heading right back home, as he would be if he performed on the last night. “We can check when we get to convention building.” They would have the information there on who was performing which night, that was something to find out first thing in the morning, though she was sure Seung would text their elder cousin and ask him personally.

“I am glad for the freedom here, it is very different however...something new.” And something to get used to, something which was still a work in progress.

Quote:
“They might have the information online as well, either works.” Terry said as his eyes darted over to glance at Seung to check on him before looking back to Eunkyung. “I’ve never been to a music convention before, do you know what the chances are of the smaller famed groups play first in comparison?” He asked after a moment.

“Other than the freedom, have you been enjoying the States?” He knew that Seung enjoyed quite a few things about being in the US, though he understandably missed South Korea as well, but hadn’t asked the young woman yet.

Quote:
“More likely...that does happen at concerts...does here also, right?” She asked, wanting to make sure. She wasn't sure if opening acts worked the same here, she did assume they did however. If that was the case, if it was like that here, Hyeon should be one of the first ones up and that would be Friday night. That would give them time together, she’d like that and knew Seung would as well.

“I’ll check the site once in the hotel rooms.” Since she had a room separate from the boys, she had the room next to them. She was not about to room with the couple, she didn’t need to walk in on anything.

“A lot is nice here..but holidays are very different….festivals we aren’t able to enjoy here and not a lot at temple either. It feels...like a smaller, lesser, community.” So you felt a bit separate from everyone else while also feeling confined in some way. “It is interesting here...many things to learn - many things that are interesting. Seung tried Christmas dinner for us and Thanksgiving last year- like you have here. Was...nice, turkey wasn’t so good.”

Quote:
Terry nodded his head then gave a half shrug. “Most of the time yes from what I have heard, though I haven’t been to any concerts either.” Soccer games and figure skating competitions yes, concerts not so much. But he did hope that they both got lucky and their cousin played early, he would hate for them to have come to the convention and didn’t get to spend any time whatsoever with him.

While he wasn’t surprised about her saying there was a feeling of less community, that tended to happen in the larger towns after all, he couldn’t help but smile a bit when she said that they had tried a few of the different holiday’s. “Just don’t like the taste of turkey or do you think it was just how it was cooked?”

Quote:
“Don’t have turkey home, chicken yes but smaller...isn’t the same...it was the taste. Other parts were good, just not the meat. “ It was just..different and not very appetizing for her or the rest of her family. “Matter of taste, don’t think you would like red beans as much as we do.” She said shrugging as she spoke gently, softly, her fingers carding through her hair and brushing it from her face.

“Seung watched the history of the holidays, each of them and Halloween, and has me and his sister watch….it was good...information helped.” It helped in understanding things and so they weren't so confused when the holidays came around, so they understood what was going on around them and why. It had helped so they weren't confused. “Not celebrated much...just starting to be really celebrated.” She said referring the Halloween and Christmas, they had no need for Thanksgiving back home in South Korea. “I think Seung likes Halloween best.” She said smiling, remembering how much he’d enjoyed decorating for it, more than he had with Christmas.

Saying this she flicked her dark eyes toward her cousin as he was fast approaching the check in desk. “Should do something for Halloween together.” Even though that was months away.

Quote:
Terry gave a hum and a nod in both agreement and understanding. There would be plenty of food that were normal to him but weird to the cousins as well as vice versa as she said. “You are probably right, though I don’t think I’ve tried any dish with red beans yet.” It was good that they had some information on the holidays, though sometimes those types of shows didn’t quite go into depth needed to fully understand since they assume those watching already have some knowledge. “If you have any questions about any holidays I’ll help out the best I can, though some of the holidays I don’t really know much on either besides cursory.” He offered up before smiling. “Halloween is fun, it’s always interesting to see the different costumes as well as fun to dress up yourself. Any idea in particular or just tossing out the idea?” He didn’t have any problem with doing something on the holiday, it was always better with more people after all.

Quote:
“You will here, it’s summer .Red bean is popular and in many deserts.” They had Korean food at this convention, it was all things Korean culture, so Terry would wind up trying something with red beans in it. “You have tried Korean food before?” She asked, not knowing if he had or hadn’t. If not he would and if so...well he’d likely encounter different, new, foods for him. It would be like a little bit of home for herself and Seung. She did wonder how good the food would be, if it would be like home...or with some sort of twist to it. She doubted there would be a twist to it but who knew.

“Seung dressed as anime character, he does conventions.” She said smiling before she shook her head. “An idea to toss out for you, find something fun to do. No idea what, I do not know what is fun to do...just going house to house. Isn’t big back home...just coming to be but more with foreign people and in those areas.” She answered just as Seung seemed to reach the check in counter. Standing she flattened her skirt and smiled.

“He will enjoy it.” She would find something with her friends to do, she was glad she had some very good friends. This year would be very fun, she was sure of it. “Should go so we can get up to rooms.”

Quote:
“I’ve gone to a few Korean restaurants and Seung has brought snacks and drinks before so I’ve had some types.” How some of the restaurants were in comparison to the real deal he wasn’t sure but Seung hadn’t complained about any of the food. He had liked a good bit of the stuff he had tried so far though there was bound to be something he disliked sooner or later as he kept trying foods.

Quote:
Terry gave a thoughtful nod then glanced over at Seung. “It won't be hard to find a few different things. I could probably even plan out a full day’s worth of activities.” Between different haunted houses, mazes, parties if you were so inclined, and more he could easily keep them occupied. He might even be able to find some pumpkin carving places to take them to so they could play around with making pumpkins.

Quote:
“That’s good. So you have good idea of the food.” He would likely enjoy what they’d have here today, that would be a good thing then. She knew he would eventually find something he didn’t like, there was even foods she didn’t like and Seung also. It was normal, it was just that it was more likely for Terry who was unfamiliar to the tastes to dislike more things - or so she thought anyway.

“That is good. I will be spending it with friends of mine. So I wanted him to be busy also, it is not just a time to be home - dressed. So it seems to me.” She said while picking up her pace and approaching her cousin. She would see to him doing something and being happy that day and enjoying it, rather than answering the front door of their apartment all dressed up.

Quote:
Terry gave her a smile as they made their way over to Seung. “I’ll certainly keep him company and as busy as he wants.” Well, with limitations to busy being fun provided there were no interruptions from Chaos he supposed. He briefly wondered if Halloween would be like how the demons and vampires were supposed to be like on Buffy the Vampire Slayer where evil took the night off but he doubting it.

Quote:
Turning to the two, key cards in hand, to spot the two approaching he dragged his piece of luggage toward them. Offering a key card to his younger cousin. “Should get settled in, will be busy tomorrow...maybe order dinner in - room service.” Seung suggested. It would be an easier way for them to eat tonight, less work and they could relax more.

Shifting to stand close to Terry, dark eyes shifting to look at the other without turning his head, the slightly shorter male offered one of the keycards to the other. “For our room.” Since they would be sharing a room, and a bed. “One bed...ok?” He asked, not that they’d never shared a bed together. He just wanted to make sure it was ok, and maybe he was also hopeful for any sign of anything special, though he doubted it.

Quote:
Watching her cousin interact with Terry she wanted to laugh, instead she shook her head while holding onto her keycard. With the room number printed on it Eunkyung decided to tag her own piece of wheeled luggage and head off for the elevators, let the boys catch up to her, they were having a moment and she wasn’t going to get involved in that.

Whispering, to herself, about how cute they were together, she would have to send Seung’s sister a report on this - she would love it.

Quote:
“Room service might work, though the hotel staff might be pretty busy so we might want to look at our options.” Terry said, giving a smile when Seung was close to them. When the other man shifted closer still he leaned over and kissed him on the cheek briefly. When the other man offered him the room key his smile got a touch softer. “One bed is fine with me.” He said as he gently took the card, brushing his fingers against the others. He didn’t even notice when Eunkyung started walking off, so focused on Seung.

Quote:
“True...many people here.” And more to come he was sure. He did wonder, for a moment, if they’d have special food knowing the sort of convention many people booking here were going to. He doubted it though, he really did, but it was a nice idea.

Smiling he turned his head to brush his lips to the others before parting from Terry’s side to head for the elevators also, his cousin stepping into one ahead of them already. “Should go, would like to get comfortable and out of this area - very loud.” Too loud really.

Quote:
“We’ll just have to see how things are when we are ready to eat.” Terry said with a nod. If nothing else they could probably have a pizza delivered but he wasn’t going to worry about that right now. For now they just had to worry about settling in to the hotel rooms and of course to check on the group schedules. When Seung started to walk he was quick to follow, just then realizing that Eunkyung had left them. “Sounds good.”

Quote:
Nodding his head Seung only had a few moments to wait for one of the three elevators to open, so they could get on, stepping on he held his hand to the open door to make sure it remained open for Terry. “Yes, should be easy to settle in.” They should be quick and easy with little issue. Food might be an issue, if nothing else maybe a cab to get food, if delivery wasn’t a good option either, and they could look up local places on the internet? There were so many options, though less than back home. Back home everywhere, even McDonalds, delivered.

“Glad to see new York, always wanted to….is big like Seoul but very different…” He liked cities. He liked the hustle and bustle of people, the noise and sights. He was used to it. A place less busy would be boring for him, and lonely. He had never thought he’d live in a big city other than Seoul, visit other cities sure but this was different, Destiny City wasn’t bad though...it just took time. Here though...from what he’d seen so far - he liked it.

Quote:
Terry gave a hum in agreement since it never did take long to settle into hotel rooms, even when you might have a lot of stuff with you and they didn’t have a particularly large amount. “If we have the time this weekend then we should do a bit of sightseeing.” He said with a smile as he moved into the elevator after Seung. It would just be another reason to check the schedule but seeing how they were already planning on this it would not be a problem. And if they were lucky maybe Hyeon would be able to join them for some if they did go so the cousins would all get more time together.

Quote:
“Yes, would like to do that.” He said nodding his head, his dark eyes turned to Terry and focused on him. Reaching out to take one of the others hands. “Would like to see this city.” He would like to come home with pictures from New York, pictures he may have to buy frames for so he could put them onto his dresser top with his other pictures. Maybe he’d even place a framed picture or two at his wonder in the bedroom, or the office.

He was planning to place pictures, and other things, at his wonder as he slowly made it his own. He wanted to bring his own taste to his wonder, his own culture as well, he had a long way to go but he was ok with this. He knew it would take time, he was willing to put in the time.

“Mmm….was thinking not long ago, doing something, maybe make curtains for your wonder. Made many for mine...many more to make.” He was planning to make different colors, different materials, and he could change them in time, when he felt like it or when seasons changed. It was something he could do for Terry’s wonder though, to help bring some new life to it and replace what was old, gone, decayed.

Quote:
Terry gave a smile and kissed Seung on the cheek. He himself would love to have pictures as well but it wasn’t necessary if they didn’t end up having the time as spending time with Seung, and Eunkyung, was the more important part even if it ended up happening mostly at the hotel. At the mention of his Wonder Terry blinked before his smile grew a bit. “That would be nice, would you like help with that?” His Wonder had many windows after all and he wasn’t sure how many the other was thinking on doing, though he had no personal experience with making any.

Quote:
“Just need to pick fabrics with you. Will be slow, it will take time, but I can do them all...Want you to pick since it is your wonder. Ohhh...need to go for measurements.” Came the answer from Seung as he gave the others hand a squeeze and his cheek a kiss. “Did many for my wonder...many more to go. Working on winter set with fake fur bottom…” In a nice dark blue velvet, a heavy material. Something to keep any possible cold out, he didn’t know how warm or cold his wonder would get inside and wanted to try and minimize it in whatever small ways he could.

He had bedding to make also, something nice and heavy duty just in case as well. That would be something to start working on soon as well, he didn’t know how the seasons and weather ran up on Ganymede. This year he would find out though, he would keep track of it as he went there and see what he could learn, and go from there. “Going to make bedding also, comforter, pillows...more.” He’d need a place to store them...he assumed, and hoped, there was a linen closet where he could store the extra bedding. He also hoped there would be a place to store the extra curtains he was planning to make over time, it would take a long time to make all the sets he had planned for his wonder.

Quote:
“Can do that easily enough. I need to go back and get measurements on some things anyway.” Terry said, thinking on how he needed to take some measurements of the windows themselves so he could replace the glass and such over time. “You’ll have to show me what you have so far then.” He said with a smile. Before he could say anything else though the elevator came to a stop on their floor. “Ready?”

Quote:
“Yes.” Grabbing the handle of his luggage, letting the others hand go, he stepped off the elevator. “Need to figure out floors for wonder also...get up carpet...and deal with wood.” He would, if the wood was good, polish and stain it and seal it. He would go with a wood floor over carpet, which wouldn’t last long. He knew wood wouldn’t last long either but it was better than carpet. If he could do anything better, somehow or other, he would in order to hopefully give any future Venice more to work with in the future.

He doubted the next Venice would come in a thousand years, he couldn’t picture it, but the floor would still need to last a good while and wood wasn’t a bad option but there had to be better - he knew there was. But it wouldn’t work looks wise with his wonder, a shame really, but perhaps something else? Something new which would come in time, new materials were always cropping up. He was sure something new would come up down the line. And he would put it to use if he could.

Quote:
Terry followed the other man out of the elevator, glancing at the numbers of the doors to see which way they should be going. “So much to do, so little time. Maybe once we are back from South Korea we can work on some of it.” He offered up something he had been planning on doing anyway.

Quote:
“Yes, maybe some decorations from there for the wonders also.” He was planning to purchase some things when back home, things he would use to decorate his wonder with. He was going to try, try being a keyword, to blend what he considered traditional and proper theater with traditional and cultural elements from his home country. He just hoped it would work. He had been toying with the idea of lanterns and hanging some and placing various kinds of lanterns about. He might give it a try…

He would also, without a doubt, be purchasing bathroom needs that he could keep at his wonder. He knew the water wasn’t working now but he hoped that one day it would, and he would be ready for that day.

Shaking his head, a smile playing about his lips, Seung was hopeful for improving his wonder...for making it a sight to see and bringing glory and wonder back to it. It would take time, effort, resources but he was willing to do it. He would leave something big for the future.

Switching which hand held onto his luggage's handle he offered his other hand to Terry.

Quote:
“Sounds like a plan.” Terry hadn’t thought much by way of decoration just yet, more concerned about fixing it up first so the elements wouldn’t damage anything he brought to decorate in the first place. However it would be nice to have some plans started for when it was time to do said decorating. He gave a smile and took the offered hand, giving it a squeeze as they reached their door. “Time to get settled in and relax for a bit.” He said as he set down the luggage and opened the door for them.
