"Annnnnd, that's it!" The little purple Kirin looked proud of herself. She had finished packing her small bag with little toys and whatever pocket change she had and was just about ready to go. She looked herself in the mirror, making sure her jean jumper was on straight and looked right. She would have to go change if Vega didn't like her outfit. Thinking of the red Kirin's interest in fashion both tired her but also made her jealous since she didn't have much style. She always just thought she was cute because she was always cute! And everyone said that. She gave the purple sweater under her jumper a tug, grabbed her bag and headed towards the common room to find her brother.

Vega was looking around. "Lyra? Lyyyyyyyyyyyyyyra?" Where was his sister? Had she forgotten they were gong to go shopping today? Vega had been saving all his spare change and allowence for this. It wasn't much, but he could probably get a cute new outfit... or at least a new shirt. Maybe even a hat! Or some sparkly things to decorate his hair? As a kirin, his hair was sort of his pride and joy. He had a cute little red scarf on today, made for him by an upper classmen he'd been befriending, and a billowy blouse and skort combo the same senior had made for a project.. The little red kirin liked it: It was lightweight and breezy, and if anyone gave him flack about wearing a skirt, he could show them there were sorts under the fake skirt wrap. Skorts were kind of neat like that.
After a few minutes, he spotted his sister. "There you are! Aw, you look adorable!"

She could hear her name drifting through the halls as she turned a corner. Of course her brother was there already. She was such a slowpoke sometimes. Lyra waved at her brother enthusiastically and skipped faster to meet him. Her red eyes sparkled at the complement. "You really think so? You like it?" A blush grew over her cheeks almost as red as her eyes. "But Vega, you're outfit is amazing!" It looked like he was about to go down a runway and strike a pose. "Where did you get that? You didn't go out and find it without me did you?" She doubted that Vega even had the money to buy anything so nice.

"No, I made friends with some upper classmen in the dorms and one of them made this for a project, but gave it to me because I helped!" Helpd was relative. He'd scribbled a lot of doodles, and picked out colors, but really, his friend did all the work. "And it was too hot for the sweater." He added before taking Lyra's hand. "So are you ready to go on an adventure?"

"Do you think your friend can make me something too one day?" She beamed at him, her smile very wide. The smile fell a bit when he sad it was too hot for a sweater. She tugged at hers that was under the jumper. At least it had shorts.... "You think so?" She did have a shirt under that, but she loved wearing her sweater. "Well, I'll just have to be the judge of that!" She reached for the red Kirin's hand. "Yeah, I'm so ready to get going! But..." She looked around a bit. "Who's gonna take us?" Surely the two of them couldn't go adventuring on their own.

"Probably! She's really nice and really good." He locked fingers with his sister. "And maybe it's not too hot for you, but it is for me." What was it some of the older guys complained about? Girls were always cold? That must be it or something. He had taken only a couple steps, leading Lyra, when she asked who was taking them. He paused. "Um..."

The purple Kirin giggled as their fingers intertwined, only to stop short when she heard her brother's uncertainty. "Um?" Lyra looked at her brother. "We forgot to ask someone, didn't we?" She pouted a bit trying to figure out what they should do. "We definitely shouldn't try to sneak out. The caretakers are everywhere." She looked around before whispering into Vega's speckled ear, "I hear they have enchanted trees on the ground that alerts them when people try to leave!" those were probably things the caretakers make up to scare the little kids into not running off, but she didn't want to chance it. "Maybe.... We could ask someone?"

"What? No way!" He blinked in surprise at that. You think the trees here would really... tattle on us like that?" What were they going to do? "I guess... we should ask someone. If they aren't busy that is..."
As Vega pondered this, a tall purple, sparkly imp boy almost walked into them. "Whoa, sorry little dude... and little dudette." He smiled at them. "Don't stand in the halls like that. You might get stepped on."

"I mean... Maybe?" All she could do was shrug her shoulders. She didn't want to chance it and get in trouble. "Oh... Um... Sorry!" Lyra hadn't been paying attention much since she had to mull over the what they should do or who they should ask. She looked up at the older Imp and a thought pooped into her head. "Uh, e-excuse me!" She looked more at the glowing speckles on the Imp's neck fluff and wondered if they would be their savior. "I'm Lyra! And this," She gestured toward her brother. "Is Vega! And we wanna ask you for a reeeeeeeal big favor." She moved her free hand out wide. Maybe she should have said they needed a small favor.

Vega was about to look for someone who wasn't busy, when Lyra asked him for a big favor. He bit his lip. What were they going to do?
"Oh?" The imp stopped and knelt down and looked at them. "I'm Chraron. Sup little lady? I'll see if I can help you."

As the other got closer, Lyra's looked away and blushed a bit. "It's, uh, nice to meet you..." She had a small smile on her face. "Well..." She let go of her brother's hand to fiddle with her hair. "We wanna go on an adventure!" She didn't want to exactly say they were trying to go shopping yet. "But we need someone older to go with us. They won't just let us go off on our own." She looked at her brother, nudging him for a bit of help. "I mean, if you aren't busy or anything..." She looked back at his, still with the small smile on her lips.

Charon smiled when Lyra said she wanted to go on an adventure. He was about to say something, but then the other tiny kirin, Vega, spoke up. "We wanted to go shopping, you know, summer sales." He tried to explain. This just made Charon laugh, and he decided to tease the kids just a little.
"Hmmm..." He tapped his chin. "That is quite a dilemma." Nevermind that he was planning on going out anyways. "What's in it for me?"

Lyra placed a hand over her mouth and pondered what of value she had to offer this new kid. it had to be something good enough to make him want to take them, but simple enough that she wouldn't spend all her money, what little she had, when they went out. She thought and thought, tapping her hoof so it made an echo in their silence. She just couldn't think of anything good enough. "How about..." the purple Kirin looked at her brother. "How about I buy you something while we're out." She just really wanted to go out with her brother, and she didn't mind if she didn't return with anything.

Charon smiled and then gently ruffled Lyra's hair. "You don't have to buy me anything." He assured her.
"Then... Then I'll draw you a picture! If we go on an adventure, I'll drw all three of us and give it to you!" Vega piped up. He didn't want his sister to spend her money on some senior jerk anyways. She was HIS sister, after all.
"Ah, now we're talking!" Charon laughed. "Ok. You have to draw me a picture then. It's a deal."

The purple Kirin couldn't thank her brother enough. "That's a way better idea Vega!" She really couldn't think of any skills that she would offer. Maybe a band-aide? But who just wanted one of those? "Ok, ok, we should go now!" Lyra was even more excited than before. They would get to go shopping with an older kid and it would be fun. She grabbed her brother's hand and offered her other to the Imp. "Thank you so much! Let's go and try on clothes" A big smile was placed on her lips as her purple tipped tail swayed behind her.
