Lily Babineaux: 25/25 - Carrying precious cargo When it came to remembering this night later on, Lily would never quite be sure how she managed to make it out of the ivory hall. As it happened, she did it by staggering half-blind through a grand archway into a nearby hall, her mind still reeling from the after effects of whatever Shiloh had done with his words. With one hand, she groped for the wall, using it to steady herself as she trudged away from the sounds of shouting and breaking glass. In the other, she kept a sturdy grip on a soft bundle of fur, cradled gently against the red glass sequins that glistened on her torso. When she felt sufficiently far from the clamor of disaster, she leaned against the wall of the austere hallway, sliding down to the ground in a nest made out of the ruby feathers of her skirts. She struggled to breathe, to calm herself, but all the while she softly pet at the bunny in her arms. "We're out of there," she murmured, though it was unclear whether she was reassuring the hare or herself. "No more spooky s**t, just us. It's okay." Slowly, the theater lights in her mind faded, and she was able to look down at the bundle with tired but clear eyes.

Jamie Delacroix | 25/25 | barely coherent When Jamie finally came to, the scene from the ivory hall was gone, replaced by a red that enveloped and cradled him like a cloud. In that vague, half-awake sort of way, he could feel things and he could hear things, but the world around him had become monotonous white noise, difficult to make out. For a moment, he didn't want to try.
It was easier to close his eyes again, to let the shadows creep back into his vision and surrender to the stark loneliness of the inside of a locker in his mind. And yet...
Lily?
He felt alone, but he wasn't alone. Her hand and her voice were gentle and it was the only thing he could cling to in the moment that was real. It was just them. For her, he opened his blurry eyes, one foot kicking slowly to signal his waking.AMItotic i said i was gonna sleep but i lied for 2 seconds

Lily Babineaux: 25/25 - Dispensing sage teenage advice Lily felt the soft kick in her arms and reoriented herself, her mind coming to focus on the waking bun. "Welcome to the world of the living, snowball," she jeered softly, her delivery a little more sincere than intended. It was strange, admittedly--normally if Jamie was a hare, then she was a fisher, and now that she had time to think about it he seemed especially small and fragile in her human arms. But there was no doubt that it was in fact him; underneath the soft fur thrummed the steady note of pack, of family. Something with too many legs strode by, and Lily lifted her knees protectively, staring the guest down until they rounded a corner. She held her breath until she stopped hearing footsteps, then looked down again, smoothing out his ears like they might have been an unruly hairdo. "So, real talk," she began leaning back against the wall. "Your friend sucks and you should dump him." She played it as deadpan as she could, but she could still feel the ugly knots in her stomach, see the stage lights, hear the voice of her mother.

Jamie Delacroix | 25/25 | but friendloh : ( There was something undeniably surreal about being held this way, about fitting so snuggly in someone's arms. It was something he hadn't experienced since a time he certainly couldn't remember, but if there was something he could say about it, it was this: Lily was not, by any stretch, his mother. If she'd told him it was time to ditch Shiloh, she definitely would've beaten around the bush a few ticks longer. It was hard for Jamie to prefer it either way, but he supposed getting straight to the point would make talking about it easier.
When he was done sulking, that is. Jamie didn't want to be human again. Not yet, anyway. Nose slowly twitching, he couldn't even bring himself to lift his head.
It wasn't Lily's fault. If the Shiloh of the ivory hall was the only one she'd seen, there was no way for her to know. Jamie believed Shun's words now. That Shiloh hadn't been the real one, couldn't be. He held tightly to the belief the real Shiloh would never have spoken to him that way. It still stung, but it made bearing it easier.
With a full-bodied sigh, he burrowed his face against Lily's arm, squirming uselessly, wriggling, shaking his head... It was Jamie's way of disagreeing, but it looked more like he was throwing a tantrum.

Lily Babineaux: 25/25 - Not taking any sass Lily raised an eyebrow under her mask, watching Jamie wiggle and squirm. "Don't be shy, tell me how you really feel," she responded sarcastically, otherwise allowing him to have his little fit in peace. She wasn't going to press the issue if he didn't want to talk about it--after all, everyone left her alone about Ashton, so who was she to judge? Her expression softened the more Jamie went about in his silent protest, however, and after a few moments she sighed in exasperation. "No, nope, you gotta stop before my brain goes into total cute meltdown, your powers are too strong for my feeble human mind." In an attempt to break up the rebellion, she started tickling at his stomach softly, trying to be mindful of her claws. Could rabbits even be ticklish? There was only one way to find out.

Jamie Delacroix | 25/25 | unfortunately very ticklish Acting mature, or trying, was a stunt Jamie often pulled in an attempt to impress everyone around him, to make it seem like he had himself together when he never really did. Letting that go did make him feel better, even if the weight of the situation remained heavy in every corner of his mind. Blowing off steam with a tantrum was therapeutic and if he'd been alone, well, he might've had a good cry, too.
As it were, the huffing and puffing totally would've calmed soon without Lily's intervention, but...
Jamie's head tilted away from her arm, his strange, magically fun-sized mask sticking pretty well to his furry face, if not a bit crookedly so. I'm not that cute, his eyes said behind it, but Lily wasn't done, oh no, and she'd find very quickly that rabbits could be ticklish. The magically-inclined variety, at least.
The squirming began anew as he flopped uselessly in her lap. She practically had him pinned, no fair! Where she was mindful of her claws, he tried to be mindful of how hard his feet thump-thumped against her, but it sure was hard.

Lily Babineaux: 25/25 - Out for adorable vengeance If Lily thought that tickling the rabbit would do anything to make him less cute, she found herself sorely mistaken. "Oh, for the love of God, this is even worse," Lily groaned, but she was smiling regardless, laughing to herself as she bent closer, pressing her advantage. It seemed to be working, up until the point that an unlucky rabbit's foot socked her across the nose. For a moment, she stood completely still, and then a hand touched the bridge of her masked nose, inspecting the ivory for cracks. "Oh okay," she responded lowly, her voice gravelly calm. "Oh it's on, ******** twisted under him suddenly as her body shifted, and in a moment's time a masked fisher with tiny white horns pounced on the hare, yammering and screeching the entire time. It was only when she found eye contact that she stopped, lolling a tongue between her fangs.

Jamie Delacroix | 25/25 | take that and that!!! Jamie's wayward foot continued to hang in the air as time froze between them, as still as a statue, as unmoving as Lily herself. There was a benefit to the masks after all; had he hit her face unprotected, he might've scratched her, and he felt bad enough for kicking her to begin with. His stomach was wobbly with worry as he awaited his sentence and wondered if she'd be mad-
Truth be told, he probably should've known better.
A scream escaped, an unnerving sound for anyone who might not have heard a hare make noise before. Jamie wasn't truly afraid, of course, even if his heart was beating a mile a minute. She had the element of surprise on her side and he was pinned. And that... she was mocking him! If she thought it was on before, it definitely was now!
Huffing and puffing, Jamie kicked his back legs—lightly, of course—popping at whatever parts of Lily he could manage to reach. Take that! his play fighting said. I'll show you!
As silly as it would seem to an outsider, Jamie felt better. What had happened before with the Shilohs both fake an real was still there, but for a moment he could forget. Together with Lily, he was happy.
