Shadiya stretched her arms above her head. It was a new dawn and she was prepared to face the day as Shade. Truly this time the name would match her persona since her appearance had recently changed to help her hide from those seeking an Oban noble girl on the run. The girl just prayed that it was enough to throw anyone off. Who would believe a girl looking like this – almost akin to an assassin or even thief- was the same as the dancer who had been standing here yesterday? No more did she have long wavy locks of crimson, but rather shorter raven hair touched her neck while her clothing was far more casual and less exotic than before.
She just prayed it was enough to serve her purpose of living a free life. “I just hope Dexurn approves.” She flushed at the thought while brushing back a stray strand of hair. So far she had managed to stray away from him and hadn’t had the chance to truly meet with him after changing her appearance last night. Thankfully they both had been busy since their last outing and the girl's shyness since confessing her feelings almost made it natural that she hadn't seen him last night - after all perhaps he thought she was busy performing or still trying to figure out how to handle being around him without her heart jumping out of her chest?
A faint playful smirk did cross her features. Should she just take the time to play with this and see if it was going to work well? Slipping into the rest of her clothing the lithe dancer made her way down from the tavern room and outside where she could hopefully begin looking around for her traveling companion…

He could tell Shade was planning something, but he didn't know what that was. Hopefully, it was nothing dangerous or risky. Still, the thought made Dexurn smile. Shade sure was something else... He would just have to trust and wait for her to tell him what was up. For now, he was still training plenty.
After all his work and training, he'd been given a new shield by his current teacher. It was sturdier and heavier than his old one, and yet he didn't find it difficult to use. He was getting stronger... Finally, he could look in the mirror and see a glimpse of someone other than the ex-slave who couldn't look anyone in the eye. It was a nice change.
Today was actually a relaxing day. Trading friendly spars with a couple other students, he couldn't help smiling. Life.. was finally his.

She basically danced through the village streets. Even if she wasn't supposed to openly dance it was hard not to have that natural bounce to her step - especially when she was bursting with excitement. She just hoped that Dexurn would feel the same! While it did break her heart slightly to see raven black instead of crimson in the reflections before her, Shadiya still felt just so...free.
Laughing the girl darted around a couple with a wink before continuing on her own way. Now I know he trains around here... Pursing out her lips thoughtfully the dancer moved around a few buildings until she could finally hear the clashing of weapons. "Ahah!" Her hand touched her own dagger. She had more training to do as well, but thankfully she knew at least a little bit of how to use the small blade hanging at her side. Not like I'll ever be a true fighter anyt time soon...if ever. She teased herself lightly before walking forward.
Finding Dexurn, Shadiya watched as he sparred. "I wonder if I can step in next?" She mused out loud to no one in particular. Once they finished then the girl would approach and see what would happen...

They clashed together, back and forth, trying to take command of the fight. It wasn't much longer before Dex stumbled, dropping to one knee after a hit to his arm. He quickly made up for it though by kicking out his leg as he fell to knock out his opponent's. The other man toppled, and Dex leapt up to pin the man until someone called the pin. Standing, he helped the other man back up and they shook hands, exchanging compliments.
Of course, Shade's musing didn't go unheard. Smirking with amusement, another spectator pushed her forward. "This one says she wants to challenge the winner!" the man shouted. "Be gentle, eh?"

Oh, he won! Shadiya almost clapped with excitement. She had been so afraid after seeing him take that hit, but Dexurn was amazing! Her cheeks flushed happily - Seems I picked a good one, right? The thought made her laugh before another's comment made her stumble. Oh? "You think...I can?" She hadn't expected someone to take her up on her own random comment!
"Alright then, challenge accepted." Smirking wickedly the dancer moved up into the field while trying to keep her gaze down so that the Matori wouldn't notice her face, "Let's fight!" She even tried her hardest to make her voice sound rougher than normal, even deeper if it was possible. Then Shadiya walked around the field as if to get her bearings before turning towards Dexurn. Bracing herself she placed both feet apart and raised her arms in preparation for an attack...

Challenge the winner? Dex looked over at the voice, brow rising slightly. Some sort of rogue thief or something? And a woman at that. He got the impression of knowing the woman, but he never saw her face clear enough to place it. He watched her move around the arena, smiling lightly. He couldn't help thinking of Shade... Perhaps this woman was like his Shade? ....What if this was someone hunting Shade?
Trying to not jump to conclusions, he braced himself and nodded, turning to face the woman. "Ladies first," he acknowledged, eager to get a glimpse of the woman's style. After all, she'd just seen him fight. She had the advantage already, depending on her skill.

Despite her brave front Shadiya's heart danced in her chest. Pulling up her scarf to cover the bottom half of her face, the girl nodded at his invitation before pushing off from the sands. She knew better than even trying brute strength against Dexurn - he could easily pick her up and throw her across the field!- so the girl wanted to play a game with him.
Darting forward she moved in a straight line towards him before waiting until the last possible second to twist out of the way and slide across the sands. Rather than using her dagger though the girl just reached out with her hand to tickle the back of his leg as she slipped on through the dust. It would look strange to those watching, but Shadiya was thankful for the dirt and dust she stirred up because it gave her more of an advantage of staying hidden.
Crouching low she attempted to stay behind him so that when he attacked she could try to out maneuver him - it was a risky gamble, but the best bet that a delicate dancer like her had against someone as strong as Dex.

He watched closely, trying to pick up on as many hints as possible on what the woman was planning. Unless she had some sort of magic strength, he was surely the stronger of the two. A head-on attack would be unwise.
With that in mind, he waited for the sneak move, and was not disappointed. He made a lackluster swipe as she slid by him, more for show than anything else. The tickle to his leg did catch him by surprise though. She was playing around? He turned to face the woman, but the dust cloud was masking her movements. Smirking with amusement, he backed out of the little cloud quickly to keep his sight clear. When he thought he saw her form in the dust, he charged forward and stuck out his shield in an attempt to push the woman over.

Boom, boom, boom~
Her heart beating loudly in her ears, Shadiya counted the beats until Dexurn made his move. As he stepped forward the girl grinned in anticipation. She had never realized how much of a dance that fighting could be. It was rather exciting - at least when she knew her opponent. She just had to wonder how much longer it would be until he got a good glimpse of her face and finally put the pieces together.
A straight charge, truly? Shadiya's grin twisted into more of a smirk. Another fighter may have tried to push against the blow, but she wasn't a brute like that. Not like she had much time to think on anything either - his charge was too fast for that! Her instinct then was to tumble away with a twist. While slamming into the ground may have burned her leg the girl was thankful for the heavy leathers that covered her calves. Any silks would have been forfeit as she slid once more and tumbled. Not taking a moment the girl bit the inside of her cheek to hide the pain before bouncing back onto her feet. Ever so teasingly Shadiya placed a hand on a hip before motioning Dexurn forward with her free hand - a taunt to her opponent for his next move, "You'll have to be faster than that."

Blowing on by, Dex had to laugh... mainly to cover his nerves. Growing in confidence and strength? Yes. Sparing? Yes. Sparing with a woman? ...Not so much. Still, he didn't want to cheat her out of a good match just because he was insecure. She certainly seemed confident.
Faster would just throw him off balance. It had to be smarter.. Hard to think smarter when the woman kept making him think of Shade, though. It almost made him feel guilty! Focusing on the tactics, he side-stepped a few times for a different angle, hoping for a new idea. Smirking, he ran right at her again. This time though, he dropped and slammed his shield against the ground to drive the spike in, creating a pivot point for himself from which to swing out his legs and try to knock the woman's out from under her.

That laugh...was he enjoying it to? Shadiya's cheeks were flushed as she moved about on the training field. Maybe it wasn't that sort of laugh, but the girl was too caught up in her own excitement to realize. This was like a dance! Oh how long had it been since she had a partner? And the fact that she had given up stage performances seemed rather dismissal now that she was realizing that there were other similar arts to perform.
What she didn't expect was the change up in approach. The change in Dexurn's tactics threw Shade off as she was already attempting to tumble away once more. His kick, however, was rather well timed and to the side as she felt his boots connect with her side. Wincing, the girl cringed as her own movements turned into a sliding fall into the dirt. I should have known. She smirked despite the stinging pain in her sides as she laid there.
Now what was the best option? Tricks were definitely still more in her favor...and she knew how Dexurn was. Hiding her smirk the girl just stayed on the ground as still as could be. Whispers came around them - had she fainted? Was she that winded from the blow? It really was hard to tell from the dust that the two fighters had stirred up.

Shade did indeed know Dex, and he fell for her ploy hook, line and sinker. He paused in a crouch, watching the still form through the dust. Oh no... Really? He scuttled forward, hand reaching out to grab the woman's shoulder.
Could this be a trick? Probably. Did it matter? ....No. If the woman was really hurt, he would hate himself for not checking. If it was just a trick.. well, he'd at least feel better knowing he'd checked?
Gritting his teeth and holding his shield a little bit between them, covering just one leg as a balance of covering and being open, he grabbed her shoulder and gave it a gentle shake. "Hey. Are you okay?"

Oh was he truly going to play into this?
I don't know if I should be worried or not that Dexurn is so susceptible to a woman... Teased Shadiya lightly before tensing up at his touch. Immediately her gaze snapped open and in one smooth movement the dancer took hold of his arm and kicked out towards his legs to knock him towards the ground. In doing so of course she made a passing movement towards his face and planted a light kiss right on his cheek before smiling. "Got ya." Twisting away she was slightly unbalanced herself as it had been a risky maneuver and honestly if he got a hold of her in time then he wouldn't be the only one falling...

Arm tensing at it was grabbed, a strong sense of disappointment sank in his gut. Figures...
He dropped to one knee, trying to compensate for the sudden kick. He would have been able to spin and bounce back up.. but the sudden press of lips threw him completely off. His pulse shot up with embarrassment, and his smooth slip to the side became a rather sudden drop. It only belatedly registered that he knew the face that had gotten so close. Shade?! He impulsively reached out to grab the woman's arm despite the fall in progress. The kicked leg went out, his body dropped, and he landed awkwardly with his shield arm pinned beneath him.

Not prepared for being grabbed Shadiya found her own body falling after the Matorian. As she landed on the rather firm body the girl found her own breath knocked out of her in an "umph". Still, after a long pause the girl finally burst out laughing. "I give, I give." She managed between laughs before glancing down at the man whose body was tangled with her own.
Seeing him so close and realizing their position brought a flush to her dark cheeks. I suppose I got a bit carried away. But she couldn't help the smile that spread across her face, "Is this...how most battles end, Dexurn? No wonder you always leave me to go training then." She teased lightly without must thought. Even if she had tried to cover herself up the gig was still over - obviously they were too close and even Shadiya couldn't change her face completely or the color of her eyes with simple hair dye and a change of clothing.
