Hadrian was totally zoned out, picking out a tune on the guitar Azure had given him. The electric blue instrument was his most prized possession and he was obsessively protective of it. But the day was too nice to spend it inside, even if all he was doing was practicing a song he was in the process of writing. He just needed to fine tune it, to perfect it, before he showed anyone.
He hummed along with the harmony as his fingers strummed and pressed the strings. The guitar was slightly too big and when he played for too long the stretch could make his hands ache. But he always played through it. He could and would endure anything for his art.

Tullio had books gathered in his arms, or that was just a few of the ones he was taking home today. He had a lot of studying, and just reading in general that he wanted to do. It was one of the few things that kept him sane at home. Homework was his outlet from the craziness! How sad was that?
Even though he was set on getting his reading done, the curious sound of someone playing the guitar and humming did catch his attention. Music was a big deal at home, so it sparked his interests! He searched about to find the source and it didn't take long! Curious, Tullio made his way over. "Hey! You sound really good!"

Hadrian jumped when he heard someone speak to him, but he grinned. "Thanks, dude," he said with a grin. "You play?" he wondered, idly strumming chords as he looked the guy over. He sort of remembered seeing him around in classes, but had never talked to him before.
The Goblin kid was pretty sure the reason behind that was the sheer amount of books the other freshling was carrying. That alone kind of screamed 'neeeerrrrrddddd' and made Hadrian grin and bite back a laugh. He nodded his head at the books the other freshling carried. "Or are you too busy for that kinda thing?"

When the other freshling jumped, Tullio felt a bit bad for scaring him, but smiled when he was asked a question. "No, but I've always wanted to try!" Maybe that wasn't a complete truth, but it looked like an opportunity was presenting itself and maybe his fellow freshling would lend him an hand in trying something new! That was an exciting prospect for Tullio.
The little hybrid went ahead and set down his books on the ground and smiled brightly to the other boy. "I'm Tullio, by the way! It's nice to meet you!" He didn't usually go out of his way to meet others because he always had so much to do, but he did so enjoy being a friendly sort.

Hadrian smiled; he could always appreciate a fellow music lover. He watched as the other boy put his books and stuff down. "Nice to meet you too, Tullio. I'm Hadrian." His fingers continued to strum a vague tune as he looked at the other freshling. "You wanna try playing?" he asked and grinned.
Thankfully they were on the ground and if the newbie fumbled his precious guitar, it wouldn't have far to fall. Despite that, he couldn't help it: he hugged his guitar a little closer without even really thinking about what he was doing. "It can be pretty hard," he warned.

Tullio actually felt a bit excited about meeting this kid. He didn't really have a lot of friends. Family? Oh yeah. Classmates? For sure. But kids to hang out with just to have fun? Nope. Not really!
After he made sure his books weren't going to fall, Tullio plopped himself on the grass across from the other freshling and wriggled excitedly as he admired the guitar opposite himself. "That is so cool! Where'd you get it from? Have you been playing long?" The lil hybrid couldn't help being inquisitive. He really enjoyed learning, be it about something or someone! Scooting just a bit closer to be in reach of the instrument, he waited eagerly for answers or the chance to hold it. Either one would be awesome!

While he waited for the other freshling to get settled, he answered the questions put to him. He couldn't stop a grin from spreading across his lips at the other boy's admiration of his instrument. "Thanks! My dad gave it to me," he said with not a little bit of pride in his voice as his claws stroked the body of the guitar almost lovingly.
"He's only been teaching me for a few months, but I practice a lot," he answered and smiled. "You wanna hold it?" Okay, so he was a little wary letting anyone else touch his baby but this guy seemed pretty cool. Even if he was a little nerdy with all those books.

It thrilled Tullio that he wasn't being brushed off and questions left unanswered! What was equally as thrilling to the hybrid was the fact that the other kid seemed just as excited to answer the questions! Well.. maybe not excited, per say, but he still seemed to be enjoying the conversation thus far? That was a plus!
"Wow..." he uttered in admiration. "That's amazing and awesome, Hadrian. Practicing like that takes a lot of discipline!" Tullio definitely found himself a little starstruck. "Really?! That would be so cool!" Right now, the guy was very grateful he didn't end up with mom's massive claws... not that there was anything wrong with them! He held out his hands and waited for Hadiran's prized possession to be placed in them.

The young Goblin preened a little under the attention and smiled at what he was quickly beginning to think of as a new friend. This kid seemed pretty cool, and eager to learn how to play. Hadrian didn't know a lot yet, but he was willing to pass on what he did know.
Sitting up on his knees and shuffling closer, Hadrian lifted the strap from across his back and turned his guitar to place it in Tullio's open hands. "It might be tempting to hold onto it tight and be tense, but don't do that, kay? Relax and you'll be much more comfortable," he instructed, telling himself that they weren't far from the ground and his baby was sturdy enough for a rowdy freshling like him, it would be fine in the hands of Tullio.

As the guitar slowly came toward him, Tullio was both excited and nervous. Excited because this was a total first for him! Nervous because he could be a bit of a butter fingers from time to time... All the same, he nodded at the words spoken to him and carefully took the beautiful string instrument from Hadrian. Oh it was a thing of wonder to feel, and he slowly pulled it toward himself.
He was just about in the clear, when the guitar actually slipped from his fingers and out of his hold! "AUGH!" he let out as the butt -- because he hadn't a clue what to call it -- of it fell to the ground! True it wasn't a long fall, but all the same it made him feel sick to his stomach as the instrument groaned and made this very strange sound! "Oh gosh! I'm so sorry Hadrian!" Tullio said in a panic, scooping it back up and almost clinging to it... that is until he remember what he was told. Somehow he managed to be able to put it back in the hands of its owner. "Mayhaps this is not a good idea..." And when his hands were free of Hadrian's guitar, they found their place over his eyes to hide himself. He felt terrible!

Hadrian yelped as the back end of his guitar hit the ground, he couldn't help it. And even though his brain was ten kinds of freaking out (oh my NINE, my BABY) he tried not to let it show too much. One look at Tullio and Hadrian knew he was probably already berating himself and Hadrian shouldn't add to it.
Taking a deep breath, he relaxed and took the guitar back when Tullio held it out. "N-no no, it's okay." His hands were passing over the impact area and checking for marks or dents or scratches but there was nothing. "Really! No harm done," he said. He wasn't sure which one of them he was reassuring, but maybe it was both of them. He could feel his heart rate, which had been beating wildly in his throat, recede back down in his chest where it belonged at a more normal pace.
He looked up at Tullio then and frowned. Leaning forward, he reached out to pat the other boy's leg. "It's okay. Chill out," he said and gave a smile.

If there was one thing Tullio was grateful for right now, it was how calm and collected Hadrian was over the whole thing. Well, as much as he could be. When the hybrid peeked out from behind his hands at the other boy, he was at the brink of tears himself, but could tell that Hadrian was a bit freaked out over his guitar.
It was such a great relief when it was pointed out that there wasn't any damage to the instrument. Like the actual weight of the worlds was lifted from his shoulders! He sniffled at the reassurance, nodding his head and sneaking in an eye rub to keep the tears that were stinging at his eyes from falling down. "I'm... I'm glad your guitar is okay, Hadrian... and thanks for not being mad at me." Tullio was used to his things being dropped, broken, stolen, and everything else, but he wasn't used to being the one to do the damage.
After taking a minute to calm down, Tullio was able to smile again, letting go of a deep breath. "Well... I think that's enough adventure for this bookworm today." He gave a bit of a chuckle as he stood up. "Thanks for hanging out with me, by the way! It was... well i can't really say fun because I gave us both mini coronaries, but it was cool all the same!" He gathered up his books as best he could and grinned at the other boy. "Hopefully I'll catch you later... and I won't almost break your stuff." Giving a sheepish grin, Tullio started for home. He still had a ton to study, afterall.

He smiled a little as he calmed down some more. "No problem, bro," he said and grinned. His hands were running across the strings again already as Tullio decided that was enough for him for one day.
Hadrian chuckled a little. "Hey, don't mention it. Maybe next time I can bring my old guitar for you to try out." He grinned playfully at the other freshling as he stood up. "It's already been abused so a little more won't hurt it!" he laughed softly. And besides, it could probably use a tuneup. He could teach Tullio how to do that, he thought! "See you, Tullio!"
