[25/25 | LEILA]: is having a bad timeIn her wispy, light butter-colored dress, Leila was leaning with her back against the doorway into the Emerald Alcove, taking a few deep breaths. Thorne was inconsolable and as much as she wanted to help him, it seemed like her presence was only making everything worse. She was used to being generally bad at emotional support, but for a friend like Thorne in a situation like he was in, her uselessness was incredibly painful to confront. For the moment it was at least a small relief to be alone and away from any of the drama that seemed to be happening all over the party.

Thorne (Masked) | | 25/25 | | Obnoxious
Thorne materialized out of - well, nowhere - and blinked when he encountered a person standing in the entrance of where he was intending to go. That was a roadblock. Irritating, but taken with the elegant disgust of someone fried on boredom and coming down from an adrenaline high.
"Well now," Thorne said with a sultry purr, "look what the cat dragged in. Or out. Did he disappoint you? Foolish creatures always do."

[25/25 | LEILA]: !!! ???Shock, confusion, and anxiety flashed across Leila's face, plain as day. That looked like Thorne. And he sounded like Thorne. But Thorne was just behind that door in the next room... and the person before her certainly wasn't acting like the one she knew. "You wanna get under my skin," she said, evenly-paced and with a bit more than the usual amount of rasp in her voice. "How about I just act all offended and you can move along?"

Thorne (Masked) | | 25/25 | | hey mom
"Aw, babe," Thorne deadpanned cruelly, a grin stripping across his face. Leila was an important person in his twins life. A second mom, almost. But to him, she was a play-thing. He would dig his claws into those pretty little strings and pull her loose.
"After all the nights I spent on your couch watching terrible movies?" Thorne tilted his head to one side, looking the perfect reflection of his twin for a second, down to the wry amusement in his tone, the roughness of his voice. "Come on, Leila, don't be that way. You're tired and I have an excellent shoulder for leaning on."
His words slipped down into a dangerous curve near the end. A blade that knocked against Leila's skin, probing.
He spread his arms wide and chuckled. It was a familiar sound but it was not whole.
"Or you can act all offended. I'll even give you a free punch. But wouldn't you rather stick around? I might even give you something nice."

[25/25 | LEILA]: no plsFor all they could get used to it and learn to operate within it, Visitors to Other Ashdown were ultimately outside their element in some way. This Thorne doppelganger appeared to be basking in it like a cat in sunlight. The memories he offered were real and cherished ones, but the person offering them wasn't the same Thorne who'd had to watch her be eaten alive. Leila didn't want anything to do with him. " No," she replied, simply, and reset her jaw. The rest of her was twitching to find the easiest way out of this conversation.

Thorne (Masked) | | 25/25 | | b***h u thought
"Alright," Thorne acquiesced mildly, and stepped forward into her space. It was the easy grace that a cat used to maneuver up against someones legs, the way summer heat often crowded against the nape of a persons neck and the small of their back. He was far away and then there. Liquid elegance burned in him, just above the violence.
"Well," he drawled with ease, "when you're ready, come and find me. Until then, I think I'll visit some old haunts."
He gave her a condescending pat on the shoulder and breezed past, knowing a lost cause when he saw one.
He was a hungry thing after all. If Leila wouldn't feed him, he would find someone else.
