 Her eyes were finally open. She'd watched the hole her mother vanished into and came back from brighten and darken several times. It was amazing. The light seemed to change each time she woke. Despite several attempts to get there to see for herself, her mother prevented her and distracted her with milk.
Philomela awoke one morning among the pile of her siblings and looked about. No mother. Now was her chance! She yawned and stretched, accidentally kicking one of her siblings. Oops. The little cub stumbled over several others on her route towards the light. With the last of the roadblocks behind her, Philo stumbled forward and into the blinding light. She stood at the entrance and blinked her eyes rapidly in the suddenly dazzling brightness. How did her mother go in and out so easily?

A foot in the face abruptly awoke her and she shook herself and her eyes opened to see a familiar dark form darting away from the family pile. Yawning and blinking a few times she finally stood up and carefully stepped around her siblings and darted after her sister. However, she wasn't expecting her to stop in the entrance so suddenly and bumped into her rear end with an 'oompf' and shook her head and blinked a couple of times. "Where ya going?"

She stood stunned by how much there was to see. Once her eyes got use to all the brightness that is. Philo wasn't sure what to do first! So she stood and took it all in. What she didn't know was that she'd awoken one of her sisters. She let out a surprised squawk as someone crashed into her rump.
The cub looked back over her shoulder to see her sister. "Th-orry, did I wake you?" She still had problems with her 's'es. "Out there! Like mama." Philo waved a paw at the sight. So much room! It looked like it went on forever!

Looking over at her she nodded her head. "You kind of kicked me in the face." She said rubbing the side of her face a little and then gave her a smile, she wasn't hurt though and wanted her to know that. Looking out at the world around them she saw how large it was and her eyes went wide in wonder as she blinked a couple of times. "Oooooo. It's so big!" She said taking it all in. How did momma never get lost? She walked out into the sunlight a little and looked around. There was so much to see and do!

Oops. She hadn't meant to wake anyone. Her limbs were still figuring out how to get her from point A to point B. Philo gave her sister a welcoming purr, happy to have her along for the adventure. "I think it goes forever." Her sister hit it right on the nose exactly how she felt. The cub padded forward to join her sibling, making an effort to be more graceful.
Not wanting to loose the den opening, Philo concentrated on objects close by. There was some wavy stuff, and things bouncing around among it. "What's that?" She asked, although this was her sister's first time out too. Cautiously she approached then batted at the waving yellow stalks with a paw. They bent then sprang back up.

"It really looks like it does right?" She said in response to her sisters words. It really did go on and on and on and she wasn't sure if there was a way for anyone to see it all in their lifetime. At least not one lifetime. Looking over towards what her sister was playing with she bounded over and pounced on a few of the stalks of wheat and chewed on them tenderly. "I don't know, but whatever it is, it's fun!" She said as she continued to chew on a stalk, the fluffy ends coming down to bat her sister in her face.

Philo nodded agreement. It was fun! Fun to get out of the den. Fun to have her sister with her. Fun to have so many new things to explore! Suddenly her sister was there with her and the wavy stalks thwapted her in the face. She fluffed out her tail to look fierce and gave a growl at them. She pounced, clumsily, on some others making them bend down and tickle her sister's back. She spotted Carina chewing on some. "Are they tasty?" They looked dubious to her!

Giggling she let go of the stalk she was chewing and swatted at the few her sister had knocked down towards her and she shook her head. "Nah, they don't taste that good. But it's okay!" She said not wanting to actually eat it. It was fun to chew on though, it made a crunchy like sensation when she chewed on it. "It's fun to chew on though!" She added as she got up and pounced around in some of the tall grass, bending some of the stalks over. "This is lots of fun! I'm glad we came out here."

Maybe next time she'd try the stalks. Not today. There was too much new stuff. She spotted a tiny creature that hopped and swatted at it. Of course she missed as it jumped. "Ooooooh! Look at this!" She crept closer to it again.
"It is. I'm so happy you came out here with me." While it was exciting and fun, Philo was starting to feel tired. She glanced longingly at the dark den entrance, but wouldn't leave without her sister.

Hearing her sister get excited about finding something new she stalked from the grass and she peeked out from the wheat to look at what her sister was looking for. As she did so she let out a yawn and she gave her a big grin. "Of course! I'm glad you woke me up, even if it was by accidentally hitting me in the face." She said with a laugh. Seeing her look towards the den she was feeling the strain as much as her sister. "Would you like to go lay back down? I'm kind sleepy." She said to her.

magnadearel Fin XD Now we just need to finish the other one "I'll hold you to that!" She said with a tired giggle and padded alongside her sister back into the den to go back to sleep.
