Cedar didn't remember anything from the Swirly Storms. Just after she came from the stone she was brought here to this new place where she was left alone with others... Others that were different species then her, that she had never seen. An adult came to care for them and she learned to care a great deal for this care taker. She would talk to Cedar, who was named based on her coloring. She was very natural based, and her eyes were the hues of Autumn. The place that she lived at down was an academy, something the young bakeneko didn't understand. She simply wanted to play with the others that she seemed to spend her days with.
But today was bit a different. The lady that cares for her told her that she would meet others today, that she would spend her days with others and get to have sleep overs every night! This idea excited the young female a lot. So when the care take lowered Cedar to the ground in a new play room, Cedar let her eyes take it all in. There were toys everywhere! And so many others for her to become friends with! She hugged her mouse plush tightly as she took a few hesitant steps forward. They all looked different, Cedar glanced back at the care taker, her tail giving a twitch as she turned back to the room. Was there anyone else here that looked like her?

Lea didn't like this at all. It was the same everywhere he went with the other freshlings naturally seeking out those who were the same as them. Being a hybrid with a combination of physical features from the two nightmare races that his lineage came from meant that he stuck out like a sore thumb wherever he was and the other freshlings kept their distance despite his caretaker's attempts at getting him to mingle with them.
Looking on enviously at the excited chatter and laughter that were all around him and reminded him more than ever of the groups that he wasn't a part of, Lea awkwardly hugged his plush close to him as he glowered at each and every one of them. If only someone would pluck up the courage to approach him, someone who was willing to give him a chance, he would show all of them just what it was he was capable of.

Cedar shuffled around nervously as she walked around the other groups. Little did the freshling know that it was common for others to seek out those like that. And later in her life she would understand that being friends with others would become a great treasure. But for know, she felt left out. Then she noticed a flickering of ears from the corner of her eye.
the ears, they looked similar to hers, not really the same but... close enough! Right? She quickly skittered her way over and found a male. He had fluffy hers like hrs but wings. She tilted her head some and noticed how he glowered at the others. Maybe he felt the same way as her. She stepped over next to him and looked out at the others.
"I- I'm Ce...dar..." She spoke softly and glanced over at him, her voice trailing off. "Lets... be friends...?"
