Quest: Find a shiny present for a tiny dude. Quote: 2 - A single faceted gemstone. 6 - The basement. There was a troll. He did not like me. 4 - No, but I found something else that Gloom might like.

She had almost asked the creature if it was going to eat here or otherwise destroy things, but wisely bit her tongue. So far, nothing here had attempted to kill her (yet), so Temperance was hoping it could stay that way. In the meantime, she was hellbent on discovering whatever grains of information she could. And if that meant finding shiny rocks for weird critters, so be it. She turned around and paused as someone seeming familiar passed nearby. "J-Juniper... is that... you?" It was hard to tell with all the fancy ball regalia and masks.

Juniper had taken to meandering around the ball with a glass of red wine. She now knew where to find the stuff and it had such a lovely taste to it that it was going to be particularly dangerous for the blonde if she kept going at the rate she had started with. The fuzzy feeling the alcohol gave her though made dealing with the events of the night more pleasurable though. So, Juniper wasn't going to complain. She had just been returning from retrieving more of the red wine when she heard her name. Pausing, she glanced around falling on another woman who appeared to be staring at her from behind her own mask. She contemplated the timbre of the voice that had called her name, before turning to fully face the other woman. "Temperance?" She questioned before walking up. "Huh, seems like we all got invited to this crazy ball." She remarked, referring to the group who had been at the theatre that night.

"Oh, d-did you see any other people? I haven't met very many... but I also haven't been too keen on prying underneath people's masks." She looked at Juniper slowly. "I guess this means everything is connected to the alternate Ashdown - not that I had any d-doubts, though. And there's even a small beast here, too, asking for favors. Wanna help?" Realizing how odd that sounded, she pointed out Gloom to Juniper. "He's not, um, bent on destruction, though, so there's that?"

"Yea, there's a few other's here. I ran into Shun before the party even started. Oh, and I saw Connor too. I would say's it's very safe to assume that everything is connected to the alternate Ashdown." She shrugged before taking another sip from her glass. "I have to admit though, they have lovely wine here! Have your tried any of it yet?" She smiled as she gently swirled the liquid in her glad. At the mention of a beast requesting favor Juniper raised a brow. "What's he looking for help with? I mean, I've been asked to help a few others and, so far, everything has been relatively menial tasks."

"Oh, I.. I haven't seen very many people." She also hadn't really been looking. Temperance had been flitting from one person to the next, trying to get information without networking. She sighed. "I don't really want to drink anything here." A paused. "He's looking for something shiny, I think - like a gemstone. I figured I'd just go hunting around rather than, uh, try to pilfer something."

"You're lose then." She said with a shrug as she tipped back the glass again to drain the contents in one fell swoop. "You really don't know what you're missing." Still, she was interested enough in Temp and this favor she was out on, so she was game. "Alright. Something shiny. I have to admit, pilfering something might be a bit easier. Have you seen some of the stuff people are wearing? There are some very glitzy and gaudy clothes around here." Not that her own didn't fall into the category of overly glitzy. She was enjoying herself though and didn't have an interest in tearing away at the small stones located on her dress. She doubted the tiny gems would be what their little creature wanted. "Hm, perhaps something near one of the food tables? They have all sorts of stuff set up over there to make the table look fancy."

"Well, one: stealing is wrong, and two: it might make some spectral being mad at us." She shrugged. "If you help me, I figure I can let you know anything I've picked up so far about the ball." At the question of where to go she frowned, however. "I heard someone say the basements had stuff left behind. Let's try there?" And, without waiting for a yay or nay, Temperance was off.

Right. So stealing from a person was wrong but stealing from somewhere else in the building wasn't? Juniper wasn't in the mood to get into a debate about it though. It was just easier to let it slide and follow the other girl's lead for now. Why that lead had to be down to the basement, she had no idea. Especially when she was sure they could find something right here. Heaving a sigh, she followed the other girl though. "Right. To the basement." She followed Temp down the hallways to the stairs that led downwards. Normally she would think a basement was an area to hold junk, but this -was- Other Ashdown. Maybe something useful would be found down there. "Alright, so, how big of a gemstone are we looking for? I hope not too big." It would be hard to hide something they were obviously stealing from somewhere else in the building.
