Briiva wandered the Hera dormitory, being careful not to touch anything. Everything here looked so immaculate; Briiva knew she would go crazy trying to keep a dorm up to standards of the rest of the building. She walked slowly, taking everything in. Having stayed mostly to her own dorm's and the lab, Briiva hadn't actually taken in much of the campus. She kept her eye on the room placards, not wanting to miss the person she was visiting.

The hall was empty, empty and quiet. All Briiva could hear was her footsteps and the swishing of the bag she was carrying. She was tempted to yell something out to hear the echo, but restrained herself. for now. Feeling more and more out of place, Briiva picked up her pace until she found the room she was looking for. Rushing forward, she took a deep breath and pushed her bangs back, away from her eyes. The knock she rapped against the door boomed down the hallway, making Briiva flinch, but there wasn't any turning back at this point. "Beth? This is your room right? If not, I'm sorry for bothering you!"

Honestly, they had only met briefly, during yoga. Briiva had tried it because of the alleged calming effects that the exercise was so often stated to have. She was absolutely terrible at it. If not for Beth being there to help her get started, Briiva would have just gotten up and found something else to relieve stress, like hitting things. Thinking back to watching Beth demonstrate positions.. Briiva colored, quickly pushing the thought away.

Beth blinked, looking at the door. Upon hearing Briiva's unmistakable tones, her face brightened. Quickly, she strode over to it and pulled it open. She was wearing one of her old party dresses, looking ready to step into a cocktail party at any moment, despite the shrug she had on. "Briiva!" She squealed, hugging the girl and dragging her into her room.

Clothes were still strewn all over the place, but seemed to be gathered more or less in a few piles. The shoes were the most organized, lined up like little soldiers in front of the closet. There was a pile of them haphazardly placed in the middle of the walkway. She was listening to music over her laptop again, with the same tinny quality. Clearly fashion had trumped technological concerns.

There were a lot of things she wanted to say. Apologize for not seeking her out first. Apologize (again) for getting bird s**t on her clothes. Thank Briiva for thinking of her. She blinked, eyes going wide as she took in the large bag slung over the other woman's shoulder. "Is...is that a cooler?"

"I-oh-Guess I'm going in!" Briiva urked as she was pulled in, finding herself a little relieved to be greeted with the familiar sight clutter and chaos. Almost instantly, she felt more at home. After a brief glance around the room, Briiva felt better about the condition of her own dorm, which as strewn with miniaturized rockets, prototype propulsion systems, and limbs. At least the limbs weren't her doing. Of course, Beth was a much more interesting sight, at least as far as Briiva was concerned. She was having to try very hard to not take in the dress Beth was wearing as fully as she wanted to. Briiva hoped that she wasn't blushing too badly. Maybe pre-gaming had been a bad idea after all.

"Why yes, it is!" Briiva practically beamed as she sat the bag down and opened it to reveal the contents: a large platter of sushi and a few bottles of specifically chosen wines. "I know nothing helps me feel better like quality food, so I thought I would bring you over something. I hope you don't mind! I know sushi can be somewhat polarizing!" Briiva grinned somewhat sheepishly, evne as she began to set everything out on a table. "how is your recovery going? I know, personally, that I must have showered two or three times before soaking all day after I got back. Did you get your injuries treated alright? I'm not working for that kind of doctorate, but that doesn't mean that I don't research that kind of thing! I just want to.. sorry, I'm rambling, I can do that." Briiva grinned, a little nervously.

Beth watched Briiva unpack the cooler with some mixture of amusement and gratitude. "What is it with everyone trying to feed me and get me drunk," she complained good-naturedly, a small smile curving her lips. She inspected the sushi and, more importantly, the bottles. Briiiva certainly knew how to pair her wines. She waved away Briiva's apology. "Briiva, I love sushi. I appreciate you thinking of me."

She settled back to watch Briiva set everything out on the desk, pushing her laptop over to make more room. After the past few days, she was feeling a little more like her old self. She hadn't reached out to her friends just yet, but it was an option weighing on her mind.

Beth tensed only slightly as Briiva asked how she was recovering. It wasn't the same thrill of terror that had shaken her the last few times she was asked that. She idly brought her right hand up to her left forearm and gently rubbed before answering, "Oh, you know, Rafe was...charming. I don't have feathers sticking out of me." She shuddered. "Or bird poop in my hair. I'm not aching or anything, so I assume that means Hera still likes me." She smiled kindly at Briiva, knowing exactly the sort of nervousness that made her ramble. 'Do I sound like this all the time? No wonder Brian and Misha are always worried about me.'

"I mean, getting people drunk is just something I'm good at. I was also hungry, figured it would be more fun to eat with someone than in my own dorm." Briiva smiled, pulling out the bottle she had taken from the Dionysus dorms, a nice dry Riesling. The other one she handled more carefully; a bottle of Aruga Branca Brilhante that Briiva had managed to import, just hadn't had an opportunity present itself to justify opening.

After the bottle came the sushi and rice, the rice still steaming. Finally, she pulled out a couple of plates and a small sack of the standard condiments for Sushi, placing them within easy reach. Briiva then offered Beth metal chopsticks with a matching spoon. "I know that spoons are a little bit like heresy with this, but I just can't do rice without one. Besides, it's not like I'm Japanese." Briiva grinned, starting to load up her plate. "Get whatever you want, I made sure to bring plenty!"

Beth nodded approvingly. "I don't think you want me to actually eat my fill, because I absolutely will." She grabbed the stack of small paper cups that was left from Misha's impromptu sleep over and set two out. "Hey, Briiva, do you have a bottle opener? My alcohol doesn't need one." Of course, she didn't have any left. Between her and Misha, they had cleaned her out. She was ready to try the food Briiva had brought over.

"I'm not taking any of this back, just so you know." Briiva took her plate and set it aside, pulling out a corkscrew for the wine. Shortly after, she was pouring herself a healthy portion of the stuff before looking around to find a place to sit. "It's good to see that you're doing better. I still want to visit some of the Chosen that are in the Infirmary. Make sure everyone is doing alright, maybe see if anyone needs any help with anything. What have you be up to, besides recovering?"

Beth took the corkscrew and handily opened the bottle of Brilhante. Clearly, she was an old hand at the classy day drinking gig. She watched Briiva pour her glass and took the bottle to pour herself some of it. Beth considered whether to settle herself on the corner of the bed, which was otherwise covered in clothes or there was a chair on the other side of the computer desk. She opted for the former and waited for Briiva to break into the food. As the chef (or so she assumed), it was only fair to wait on her example.

Beth nodded in acknowledgment of Briiva's words. It was a good idea. Now that she was feeling more like herself, she knew that it would be valuable to be seen volunteering at the infirmary. Of course, one had to be competent to actually be helpful, and other than a couple of people in the lodge, Beth didn't exactly have the training to offer First Aid. "That's very kind of you! Maybe I'll join you." She didn't relish the thought of seeing Rafe again, but the social karma she would get out of it outweighed the fear.

At Briiva's question, Beth paused and then said, "Nothing much. I think Misha and I might try to go shopping, but I need to go through my clothes first so...that was the plan for today." She tried to think of what else she had been doing that didn't involve moping around trying to recover from not only the physical damage but the mental as well. She realized then how much energy was being tied up by her holistic convalescence. She frowned a bit, but smoothed her face out as she looked up and smiled at Briiva. "Have you been just puttering around?"

"Well, I've been making this most of today. It is a lot of sushi. I don't consider makin' food work though." Briiva grinned, taking her first piece of sushi go for a swim in a tiny pool of soy sauce before popping it into her mouth before sitting across from Beth, careful to not sit on anything else that might be strewn across the bed. She leaned in, listening to Beth between bits of sushi and gulps of drink. This was actually the first thing she had eaten today, so Briiva couldn't imagine that she was eating at all daintily. Though as long as she didn't get anything on the bed or Beth's clothes, Briiva didn't really mind. There was no wrong way to eat food, so there should be no problem with her stuffing her face.

"You already have so many clothes here. Are you going to be getting rid of anything for the new stuff?" Briiva was a little awed, really. She had nowhere near this much clothing, let alone in such a variety of styles. She didn't much care for the dress, but everything was so pretty. Briiva briefly tried to imagine herself in something like the fabric laying around, and almost choked on the piece of sushi she was chewing on as a reward for the absurd image. "ow, s**t!" Briiva coughed then grinned a little sheepishly. "Sorry, went down the wrong way."

Once Beth was sure that she could take what she wanted with impunity, she started eating herself. Popping one piece in her mouth was heavenly. She ate two or three more before finally responding to Briiva's questions. It spared her from having to stare at her companion's less than graceful dining etiquette. "I'm thinking about it. I hate giving anything away. You know the day you do, it'll come back in fashion, be oh so de la mode." She giggled. "But the closet here is so much smaller than my one back home. Personally, I think it's an oversight, I mean this one will barely fit my day-to-day wear, much less my shoes. I can't keep moving it from the bed to the chair to the bed again, so I might just give them away. Or send them back home. If you'd like something from that pile, you can take it." She raised her eyebrows in alarm as Briiva started coughing, and offered her cup of wine to help wash it down. "Careful there! It's a marathon, not a race. It's not like the fish can swim away now, after all."

Briiva held back a snort, downing the glass before answering. "No Offense Beth, but these clothes aren't my sort of thing. Plus, I would probably manage to do irreparable harm to 'em within a week." She got up, taking Beth's now empty glass to refill it. After topping up, Briiva sat back down, passing the wine off to her friend. She looked around the room thoughtfully. "Ya know, you could just put a row of shelves up to hold your shoes. If you lined them right up by the door, you would be able to choose whatever pair you needed just before stepping outside."

Briiva finished her plate, then started working on her own glass of wine. "You don't really seem like one to look back on things though, at least not clothing." Briiva smiled warmly, sipping her alcohol.

Beth smiled, though she tilted her head and considered Briiva thoughtfully. "Perhaps not for every day wear, but you might find something for a formal occasion." Admittedly, Brianna's figure was not Beth's very full one. The woman would probably be swamped in fabric either way. Oh well. She had offered and that was the important part.

She blinked at Briiva's suggestion, looking at the blank patch of wall she had indicated. "I adore the idea, Briiva! It would certainly make it look somewhat organized in here. I wonder if the Prytaneum provides more furnishings." She thought for a second, taking a sip of her now full cup of wine.

At Briiva's estimation of her, however, she almost snorted laughing. It seemed like her days were nothing but looking back and wishing she could somehow return to simpler days. She always felt like she was pining away for want of something, even if she had taught herself to remain stone-faced in the face of desire. Fear and insecurity still broke the mask, and there had been plenty of both in the past few weeks. But she thought of herself as a person rather fixated on the past. "On the contrary, I am a terrible hoarder, especially of clothes."

"Well, let's hope that most of this isn't made of something highly flammable like polyester, yeah?" Briiva smirked, taking another generous swallow of her wine. "In this kind of closed quarters, would't take long at all to burn down the whole dorm, unless there's some weird no-fire magic running about the place." Briiva wasn't so sure about magic and what it could do, but she did know that it had at least been able to instantly teleport the Chosen to an entirely different country, which meant it could almost certainly do a lot more. Personally, learning more about magic was what Briiva want most since she found out it's existence. She just knew felt that finding out more about it could only help her own goals and aspirations.

Briiva slowly drifted back to the room, away from her thoughts, jumping and smiling apologetically. "Whoops, my bad. Saw a train of thought and let it take me for a bit of a ride. If you need any help with the shelves or something, I've got a whole bunch of equipment here. You don't really just have rocket parts on hand after all."

Yekaterin

Beth shuddered. Did Briiva think so little of her that she would clothe her body in something as base as polyester? "Well, I had to leave my candle collection at home, so no worries there. And I'm sure magic runs all over the place here." It seemed like a safe assumption to make.

Beth busied herself eating, so she did not notice Briiva's lapse into silent reverie. She was helping herself to seconds as her companion apologized and returned to the present. "I'd love to have shelves for my shoes. You'd have to show me how to put them up though. I don't really know my way around tools." She didn't count frantic hammering for 5 seconds as birds tried to break in. To be honest, she liked the idea, but not so much the idea of doing the work for it. Maybe she could convince Briiva to set them up while she lounged languidly on her bed. "You seem pretty handy, though." She giggled, stretching before taking another piece of sushi. She was not unaware of Briiva's occasional glances. It was flattering and more than a little heartening, given their experiences just a few days before. Surely, she couldn't be faulted for inviting such attention? And reaping the benefits of it?

Briiva had a pleasant buzz drifting around her mind; which didn't help Briiva trying not to be distracted by Beth. It really had been a terrible decision to pregame. Making a mental note to drink more slowly from here out, lest she embarrass herself, Briiva grinned somewhat sleepily. "Of course I'm handy. Didn't get into MIT to be a walking encyclopedia, after all." She turned her attention to the wall. "I ain't no carpenter mind you, but assuming the shelves are already assembled I can hella put em on your wall, or at least help you with it." Despite her previous resolution, Briiva drank more of her wine.

"You know, nobody told me I would be ******** fighting birds. I assumed that place like this wasn't all studies and parties, but ******** birds that attack you with literal s**t? That a new one for me. Still, I think that now we have an idea with the kind of weird we're dealing with, we're be better prepared next time, or at least take it more seriously."

Briiva looked off for a moment, silent. When she did speak up, her voice was softer. "You gotta be more careful though Beth. Can't have you dying or anything ******** up like that, got it?" She stared into her drink, swirling it half-hardheartedly
