Alg had excused himself to use the bathroom, only going to be a minute really, but when he returned he tugged his husband's sleeve lightly and pulled him aside from his conversation.

He had a look that implied some serious task, a whisper that said it possibly wasn't going to be on the up and up, but all he said was, "Jeremiah. I need food."

"No, not for me-" Alg smiled a bit, as it sounded exactly like something he'd say. He noticed the slight change in his husband's demeanor and wrapped his warm hand around the other man's.

"You alright?" He squeezed with concern.

Alg glanced around the room. Food. This room was large enough that they could probably snag something.

His voice dropped, "A masked man," everyone was masked, nearly, "with an odd voice said he'd give me information if I could get him some food."

"Pilfering is exactly it-" Alg chuckled lightly. Yes he liked food thanks. "-It's got to be stolen from someone else's plate."

He began to glance around, looking for targets. They needed someone with a good amount of food, possibly untouched, and distractable.

"He was very specific about it."

Alg assessed the target, a wave of nostalgia, them younger doing something very similar. There was a small, adoring look at the other for the moment, before he nodded.

Water sprite or naiad of some kind by the look. Not that he would know the minutiae of these creatures they were so varied. It seemed that all it wore were diamonds, and even then the clothing was scant. They were fickle by the looks of it, varied plates each with only a bite or two before the creature moved on.

"Perfect-" He nodded confirmation, "Would you like to be the distraction or shall I?" His head tilted, looked at the layout, "You're definitely less bumbling than me."

A small part of him thought 'please tell me you're burning this mother down' but Alg just sported a wry sort of smile.

"I guess I'll be the one with sticky fingers," He chuckled and waggled and squeezed those magic hands together. He was back to eyeing the table, trying to find the easiest but most appealing plate to steal.

"Do your thing, my love."

Alg blinked at what his husband did, a bit surprised and perhaps gaping a moment, before he realized (from the bubbling joyful sound that came from the sprite) that he should be moving. Alg actually lifted off the ground an inch, ensuring he wouldn't trip, and weaved smoothly through some talking tree people to the table.

The sprite was dazzled by Jeremiah's move and he was given it's full attention. Despite being not quite human the diamonds only clustered in certain location of it's body that it would have been a bit obscene on a human. With Jeremiah's fire the creature was glittering and glowing madly as it reflected the flames.

"Oh my!" The voice is like a babbling brooke, infectiously upbeat, "look at you! What can I do for you?"

Alg, behind the sprite, was sliding a heaped plate out from some others gingerly.

Alg, behind them, was now float-leaning over the table, pulling the preferred plate close and taking a step back down to the floor. Jeremiah was given a wink as the mission was successful. He now just looked like a usual guest with their dinner.

The sprite giggled again, "Oh stop." Again it's laughter babbled pleasantly and seemed to attract a few other water sprites, all of who seemed to bask in Jeremiah's sparkly fire and chorus in with the bubbly, musical laughter.

Alg watched, a bit in horror really, as Jeremiah seemed to be enclosed in a swaying group of supernatural creatures who all looked like they were about to leap into a choreographed dance number any moment.

The beings began to step in time, hops to the right. Clap. Hops to the left. Clap.

Alg's eyes widened in horror. Jeremiah was standing in the center of what was essentially an Electric Slide flash mob.

Slow steps back. Clap. Rolling bend to the toe. Clap.

Was there no hope? Should he leave him for dead?
