After leaving the Emerald Alcove, Chel waited a good few paces before saying, "Now seems like a good time t'talk yeah?" They entered the main courtroom once more, standing on the perimeter of the merriment. Dancing, drinking and a lot of talking. Chel would have found it nice had the circumstances not been in place.
They passed a man scribbling on a canvas, who accused them of losing his pen. Despite literally just walking by.
"We can talk after we find this pen, I guess. Any ideas grumpy?"Quote: Where are you going to look? 4 - The hallway leading here? Maybe he dropped one on the way over. What drawing tool did you find? 4 - Good ol' dixon ticonderoga pencil. Do you successfully get the item? 5 - Yes, but the ink likes to blot and the pencil nub is dull. It'll.. do.

Shun quietly grunted as he stepped out of the room with Chel. Before he could really say anything, a somewhat familiar figure had barked at them to find his lost pen. He had been one of the kids from the Blackfriar incident. Shun noted that he was missing a mask... like Thorne.
"It is quite possible he just dropped it out here," he shrugged as he scanned the ground for anything of note.
"Over there," he stated, pointing out a small object a little further off.

To Chel, Shiloh's face was familiar, but she couldn't quite place it. Blackfriar had been quite a blur for her.
The missing mask though ... she did feel pity at least.
Crammed under a small side table with tiny dishes of food was the pen; some sort of straight art pen that Chel didn't understand and couldn't read the side of fast enough to register it.
Her eye caught the ballroom again, pen still in hand, tapping against her shoulder. "Wanna dance?"

The writing device was fetched, though it seemed that Chel wasn't ready to return it just yet. Shun raised his brow at her, "I do not dance."

She leaned in a bit closer. "You ain't gonna find a place more private than a dance floor."
Every hallway had eyes and ears.

Grumbling lowly, Shun pushed on towards the dancefloor. He didn't completely agree with her on that front, but he wasn't going to bother fighting it for now.
"I seemed to have underestimated just how ******** up this night would be," he stated flatly. He knew it was going to be trouble, but there wasn't anyway for him to forsee this.

Chel was actually delayed a few moments in joining him because-
holy s**t that had actually worked.
"S'why I kept askin' you what our gameplan was," she said in solemn agreeance. "S'also why I didn't want to ******** with magic." They waded into the crowd of people slowly; the dancefloor was more full than it looked.
"But here we are, ******** deep in it." And to her credit, she hadn't shied away yet. Hey eyes gave him a once over. "How're you holdin' up?"

Upon reaching a clear spot, he turned towards Chel, shaking his head, "You could have stayed home. And I am not the one you should be asking that."
He wasn't one who apparently was trapped in this hell for a month.

She offered him a hand, raising an eyebrow. Now the question was thus; was Shun a good dancer?
"But I am. Just 'cause you ain't gone through ... that s**t don't mean yer all okay." She had to check, as she would with all of her friends, but especially with Shun. He had become somewhat important in terms of her access to sanity.
"So how you holdin' up?"

"Stop worrying about me," he muttered under his breath as he took her hand and placing his other at her side with a hint of hesitation. He really wasn't all that interested in dancing. At all.
Wanting to change the subject, he just went straight to business. As always.
"I have not yet had much of a chance to find anything of substance. I do know that if you take your mask off, you volunteer as a possible tithe."

"Yeah, Sunny said as much- take it off an' yer marked fer good by the way. Even f'you put it back on sounds like." Chel wasn't much of a ballroom dancer, but considering neither of them were really focused on garnering attention, it was okay.
"Oh yeah-" she added, the thought only just occuring to her. "An the fact Sunny's here. You remember her yeah? From the cliffside?" She paused for a moment for recognition. "She said she's here t'protect us all f'somethin' happens. Like a safety net- she said."

A scoff escaped him.
"Hell lot of good a 'safety net' would do us if we fail. Why can she not save whoever the ******** is going to be killed, then?" he asked, shaking his head, "Adoelle, the third missing teen, notably is not wearing a mask. I believe she is the one in greatest danger tonight."

"Yeah," she agreed. Admittedly she didn't trust Sunny very much; she certainly respected the woman for trying to help at all, but Chel had reasonable hangups over the "woman raised by wolves."
"Wait that missing girl is here? Are the other ones?" Chel knew the alpha werewolf had been one of the teens, but last she could remember they'd pushed him through a portal to fix him. Since then, it'd been relatively quiet on her end.

Raising his brow, Shun could only guess that Chel hadn't heard the news of Michael's body being found a little while ago.
"Heliodora cannot leave her little domain from what I know, and Michael is dead. So. No."
Idly, he wondered if there was a way to remove the Spinel lady's mask. It would be dangerous, no doubt.

"Ouch," Chel said, unsure what else to say about Michael being dead. Heliodora being trapped somewhere was news as well; or at least, hearing it said so plainly was.
"You ... haven't seen a second me, have you?" Thorne's predicament led her to worry about her own.
