There's a door at the far end of the hall that opens to a magnificent room where the ceiling is glass and the moon illuminates every inch of the turquoise bathed space. The frames are decorated with shells and the border around the room looks like seafoam. However, the most notable trait of this room are the hundreds of drawings hung from the walls and situated on the floor. Most of them are gorgeous paintings of the Spinel Lady, though some are far more ardent and dark—figures that look human, albeit in an uncanny sort of way, as if the artist was just on the verge of remembering what they looked like.
Shiloh Beaumont is the sole resident of this room, and he's situated at an easel, delicately mapping out strokes on his canvas as the shadows from the rain wash over him.

Shiloh Beaumont; 18+ to persuade; quote Melancholies when addressing him.
Shiloh, bathed in greens and blues, looks rather indifferent despite what's going on. Out of it seems like a better descriptor; is he even all there? Maybe physically, but he's mentally seemed to have checked out. The only change in his expression comes from being approached, and even then it's a slightly-annoyed pout and narrowing of the eyes.

alois scholz (unmasked) || 25/25 || hi hello have some wine Alois entered the room nonchalantly, a bottle of wine hanging at his side, and glanced around at the endless paintings simply discarded about the place. He recognized her easily - he did not much care for the wench herself - and knew he was either walking in on Batshit or Apeshit. The head of blonde hair spotted, he knew it was Apeshit. Fantastic.
„Hej,“ he started as he carved a path into the room. Countless drawings, sketches, scribbles, and start-overs slipped underfoot. The whole room felt precarious, unbalanced, jilted. All the beauties of the aquamarine and seashells lay obstructed by the bland parchment tone of canvas. The boy had skill without doubt; Alois simply did not care for his subject matter. „Van Gogh. Blondie. Whatever she calls you. I haven’t seen you out in the party yet.
„You look like you could use a drink.“ When close enough, Alois relinquished the bottle to the floor where Shiloh could drink at his leisure.
„I don’t understand why you’re drawing her.“

25/25 Shiloh Beaumont (unmasked) is wondering what the ******** Alois is even wearing
It was a little odd, his choice of attire for the ball, and though Shiloh wasn't about to question Ezra and his design aesthetic, he was still pretty put off.
"It's not my place," he replied, worrying the brush between his fingertips. "I'm not here to mingle with... old friends." he used the term because it was the one Melany used, but truth be told, Shiloh hadn't seen anyone he really recognized out in the crowd. No, he saw Thorne, but Thorne had always been there, and besides... he wasn't a guest. His eyes narrowed as he thought about the blonde man Thorne had been with. Hadn't he drawn someone like that once? Ah, well, it would have been lost to the chaos of the room at this point.
"And you aren't either. Does it please you, being so blatantly disrespectful to your patron?" his tone was accusatory, but lacked venom. No, it was cold; cold like Lady Melany when she spoke in her disapproving, passive aggressive voice. Shiloh had ample reason to fear Ezra, but he was nothing like his Lady. "I'm drawing her because she's the epitome of beauty," a quick glance over Alois' outfit again, "You wouldn't understand."
The bottle of wine received an acknowledgement, but remained untouched. What did it matter? Shiloh didn't need any of that poison. Alois was a strange, strange man. Shiloh didn't interact with anyone outside of Thorne for this reason. They were always so crude, so unrefined, so undisciplined. At least Melany had molding him to be perfect.

alois scholz (unmasked) || 25/25 || he doesn’t know what the ******** he is wearing “No, you’re not here to mingle with old friends. You’re here to play footstool for the Gaudy Queen. That’s what we’re all here for, isn’t it?“ Alois had little idea how long Apeshit resided down here, but he estimated that he’d been locked away for quite some time - perhaps since the party started. The hundreds of drawings provided little clue, either; while he could tell they were each executed by the same artist, they may have been carried in from his months spent under the Spinel Lady’s care.
Alois crouched down next to the easel and took up the bottle that he left. With corkscrew on hand, he uncorked the bottle with ease. Full-bodied, this one, with a fruity finish. An older series, he guessed. „Actually it does please me to piss Ezra off. It’s quite fun. Granted, he doesn’t really put up with it, but who does?“ July, he thought bitterly. „I’d say you should try it sometime, but you seem a little too coocoo for cocoa puffs to consider anything but licking her feet.“
But he couldn’t correct Shiloh here. He was quite right - even if she wasn’t his aesthetic, Melany was beautiful. So beautiful, perhaps, that she looked unreal. Even in the paintings, Shiloh’s passion for her appearance sprang up in each careful stroke of the pencil. „You’re right. I wouldn’t understand. So why don’t you explain it to me, hmm? July never told me what happens on zat side of ze fence. Bennett and I never knew.“ He took a swig, swirled the wine about his palate, and swallowed easily. The wine here tasted far too good to be real wine.
Well, if he was planning to talk to Apeshit, he might as well get drunk for it.

25/25 Shiloh Beaumont (unmasked) is glad they can agree on one thing
Shiloh narrowed his eyes at the way Alois spoke. How dare he insult Madam like that; it made his blood boil beneath the surface, but he said nothing about it. He wouldn't cast judgement because it honestly wasn't his place, rather, it wasn't his place to execute it. Alois was beneath him. Melany said so. He wouldn't let it bother him
"There's really nothing to talk about." Shiloh said, gaze abruptly dropping. "Especially not if you keep insulting Madam like that." it was really only pettiness that pushed that statement out. Shiloh had no desire to talk about his 'upbringing', and he'd keep making excuses all night if he had to. Hetzerei short post is short but sorry about that 1 you rolled

alois scholz (unmasked) || 25/25 || dazzling shiloh with his stellar personality “Where oh where are my manners? Oh, right, I pissed zem out in ze cellar corner earlier. My mistake.“ Alois rolled his eyes heavily. Flashes of ruddy red reminded him that he looked like he fell out of an ignorant portrayal of Africa or something. „He taught me manners, you know. Well, he reminded me to start using zem again. But I don’t see ze point in yielding to someone like zat.
„Zese people,“ he started, raising the bottle to his point, „zey’re not here to help us, or train us for anysing besides how to play slaf’e for zem. Zey made perfect copies of us and shipped zem out into our world. You want to groffel at her feet? Fine. Do it. Be sure to lick ze fungus from between her toes. Worshipping idols is what sheep do. If you want to be zat way, be it.“ He stood, and eyed the canvas with contempt.
„Someone will pay ze price tonight. You know who it is?“

25/25 Shiloh Beaumont (unmasked) really wants to grab that wine bottle and hit himself over the head with it
"I do not mind it." Shiloh said with an air of dignity, "I had little reason to live before Madam Melany gave me new purpose." and it was true; he lived to please now, worked hard to learn. Every touch, every word, every semblance of praise was the only thing that kept him moving forward anymore. Subdued and controlled, perhaps, but there was nothing more powerful than a dog with nothing left to lose.
Besides, what Alois was saying was asinine. Perfect copies of them? "Our world"? If Shiloh thought long and hard, he could remember a landscape complete with a sun, but those were darker times, bleak times... at least, he was pretty sure. He couldn't remember much beyond the color of the sky. He didn't care to.
"Anyway, at the rate this conversation is going, I hope it's either me or you." he spoke with a complete deadpan. It would be a win/win situation, honestly.

Chel | 25/25 | Oh Hey
Chel and Shun had decided on a goal: figure out how best to protect the people without masks. As far as she was concerned, that meant they needed to figure out exactly what trouble the people without masks were in. Thorne had given her an idea ... but there was more to learn still.
She remembered the person she'd gotten an art pen for; he hadn't been wearing a mask. So she started there, by approaching Shiloh, trying not to interrupt the conversation between the two men.
When a pause presented itself, she said, "You guys sound like you know some s**t about Melany." An awkward insertion, but there it was. "'Sup."

25/25 Shiloh Beaumont (unmasked) is dazzled all right
Shiloh would usually be annoyed at such an ungraceful insertion, but any break between his conversation with Alois was a grateful one.
"The Spinel Lady." he said to Chel, "Or at the very least Madam Melany. Be respectful." why was he even bothering, actually? Let their disrespect earn them pain, Shiloh didn't care.
"What do you want." it sounded more like a dead-weighted threat rather than a question.

25/25 Shiloh Beaumont (unmasked) is confused
"Christ, did you learn to talk from a blender?" it was honestly the best insult he had, which wasn't saying much.
"Stay out of her way," he warned "She won't hesitate to cut you down. Neither will I. Can you really expect me to show you any respect after you declared your opposition to giving it?"

alois scholz (unmasked) || 25/25 || tipsyyyy
Alois smiled bare at Shiloh after his retort. Another found her way into the room, and Alois’ smile only broadened. He chanced patting Apeshit on the back - he didn’t care much for whether the man retaliated or not - and stood to part company. „I guess it’s time to force zat decision, eh? I’ll go see what Melany has to say about it.
„Enjoy your pen, Footstool, for all ze trouble I went srough to find it.“ With a passing wink to the girl who chucked wine at his face, he ambled out of the room.

25/25 Shiloh Beaumont (unmasked) DONT TOUCH HIM AAA
Shiloh flinched visible when Alois patted him on the back; a gesture that only occurred because he had been preoccupied with Chel. He was gone before he could come out with a decent retort.
Turning back to Chel with his face painted in disgust, he wondered when he learned decent speaking skills. It hadn't always been that way, had it? Had it...
He shook his head.
"No, only those who deserve it..." he flushed slightly, realizing that he was basically agreeing with Chel at that point. "Madam Melany is absolute."
He settled down slightly, listening to the rain.
