User ImageThe evening was cool and inviting. Colors of dusk sprayed over the sky and the parts not lit by the retreating day already gleamed with the stars made visible by an absent moon. The lands were still. Somewhere in the distance a prey animal brayed.

Of all the things—the beauty of the dying day, the miscellaneous sounds of the night creatures, the feeling of the coming night air—Myrnh seemed wholly disinterested. In the gleaming twilight her pale pelt shone like some apparition, a pale outline on the grass and rock that made a river's bank. Golden bangs fluttered in the evening breeze and settled over her face. Glassy eyes stared forward. Few things crossed her mind. Few things were of interest. With life and all its intricacies, the lioness seemed absolutely bored.

She had briefly parted ways with her brother. Though Fashaq and herself traveled together they had no reason to be attached by the tail. Besides, though was only so much of her traveling partner that she could tolerate. Her brow furrowed as he crossed her mind. At first glance the two were similar enough. It drilled at her mind to think herself as being a mirror of her brother's persona.

Myrnh shook the thought from her mind, swatting a paw at the surface of the water. The ripples blended together the reflection of the stars and a snort escaped her flared nostrils. She needed to get out of this place. These riverlands no longer interested her. The pair would continue on soon, and the lioness let her mind drift to the prospect of travels. Maybe they would go to the sea. That would be a nice change.

Don't get him wrong, he loved the pride that had welcomed his pregnant mother in. But honestly he wasnt sure it was the right fit, and well besides his oldest friend Paiva, he stood out like a sore thumb among all the golden pelts.

Which is why he was outside the pride now, past the protection of the boarders, but he wasnt worried. Seren was a large male, even on the large scale he tipped the top, his grandfather was a large lion, and it seemed Xanthus's blood ran heavy in the younger male.

He wanted something...more, maybe it was also his grandfathers blood that made him leave the pride now and then and seek out...something, he wasnt sure what it was, or what called to him.

But tonight the call to be outside, almost free was strong, and he followed the calling, for tonight he was his own.

Myrnh had never been in a pride or any group larger than her family (an even that group was one that existed for the briefest of moments). Regardless, she was convinced she was better off without one. There was something that seemed tedious an unnecessary about the whole venture. Whole hoard all grouped together, all believing or feeling some sort of common cause. What was the point?

Not that there was much point in aimless wandering, either. At least you could see more. Experience more. See more sights and meet more faces. The lioness would admit that there was something interesting about seeing the variety of places out there, and the characters those places bred. She didn't see a need to have some overarching goal to it all. She different from her brother that way. Fashaq moved through the lands like he had something to prove.

Her head shook as she thought about it. It was silly. Pointless. Why tie yourself down to one cause when there were so many other options out there?

The sight of another—a gleam of white in the dying light—caught her attention. Another lion, she quickly realized. And he was alone. Myrnh narrowed her eyes, stopping her steps. She stood tall and proper, pale and glassy eyes looking him over. Still, it was a long few moments before she spoke. Myrnh wasn't one to start conversation but she wasn't against it when the time called.

"Greetings," she called. Her voice was smooth, not like the deep and eerie growl of her mother's, but a rich and velvety tone that rung out in the calm of the evening.

Her voice.

It was different than any tones he'd ever heard before, and it caught his attention instantly, vibrant violet hued eyes fell on her. She almost seemed like an ethereal being, calling to lost souls in the night. If he were a lesser being, he might shiver at the thought, instead he moved towards her.

"Salutations." He responded, his tones were deep, rumbling almost like the sound the lands made when an earth quake was shaking below their paws. Maybe this is why he had been called out past the protection of the pride, though he was sure that was more due to the wanderlust that pulsed in his blood. His grandfather had left this same pride as a cub due to his own wanderlust, but Seren didnt know this story.

He paused a few feet away from her, eyeing her carefully before his eyes moved around her, even without the aid of the moonlight, she seemed to glow in the darkness, but he was still wary of anyone else that might be lurking in the shadows.

For a good moment Myrnh only watched. She said nothing. The lioness stood tall and still, pale eyes pressed to the massive lion. It was only when he looked around her (perhaps searching for danger, she ventured) that she spoke.

"There is nothing to be wary of in this glen, lion. I am alone."

It was a daring statement to make from a lone lioness to a larger lion, though if she felt any fear in the statement she didn't show it. By all rights she should have been concerned. Had the lion been a violent one she probably wouldn't fare too well. But Myrnh took her chances, as she often did. And there was something in his eyes, something in the deep rumble of his voice, that made her believe she wouldn't have any issue here.

Besides, Fashaq was withing roaring distance and gods knew her brother would be there if she had any sort of issue.

Her tail twitched behind her and the lioness remained silent, watching. It was clear that she wasn't one to start conversation. Instead she was taking in the scene. The lion was large, that was a given. He also wasn't unattractive, she noted to herself. And that rumble of a voice was once she could stand to hear again.

Myrnh's head lilted to the side slightly, bright bangs falling out of her face so she could see him clearly. Yes, not bad looking indeed.
