An important practice of the Menehune is marking their history down upon their skin. Every tattoo that lines a Menehune's skin has a meaning, spiritually or personally, that expresses their past events. Some may include art of their deities, who they believe watch over them, while others may document major events in their life that shaped who they are today. All tattoos are beautiful in their simplicity, are are something that the Menehune take great pride in.
As a young apprentice, you are finally old enough to get your first tattoo. Everyone has primed you to take great thought and consideration, and as a result you find yourself contemplating the great events of your past. What event do you choose as your inspiration for your first mark? Is it the first time you picked up a craft, or maybe a symbol of a god or goddess that you follow? Take the time to think it over as you design your tattoo, because this is the first of many great events that you will document on your skin.
