It had been a glorious day so far!
Regality had taken a trip to the salon, spoiled herself to a full treatment, then went and spoiled herself some more with a hooficure. She was feeling sparkling and radiant, much more so than she usually was, and one could tell just by the way she was poised and strutting. The filly had almost thought that today couldn't have gotten any better....
... and then she spotted it.
All alone on a bench sat a sparkling mirror covered in precious jewels, glittering in the soft rays of sun. Curious, she thought, why such a thing would be sitting here. The filly tossed her head delicately about this way and that, eyeing the passerby's, noting how no one seemed to take any interest in the mirror... except for herself.
"Have you been abandoned, poor dear." she cooed to it as she pranced up to the bench, lifting the mirror with her magic. "No one seems terribly interested in you and clearly, if you had meant something to someone, you wouldn't be left here, would you." she spoke, a sly grin spreading across her features as she gazed at her reflection. If no one seemed interested in claiming the mirror as theirs..... well then she would have to do the job for them!

Normally, the mirror would never dared to be left on a bench by itself. Normally, it had a home right in Blind Love's purse. Unfortunately, today was the wrong day to accidentally leave it on a bench.
The mirror was special to the small phony, mostly because Noel had given it to her as a young foal. She usually didn't dare let it leave her sight, but the events that led up to its abandonment hadn't exactly given her a chance to consider its whereabouts. Just five minutes earlier she had been fixing her hair on the bench when a stroller ran by, a distressed mother rushing after it in horror. The mirror had immediately been set down and off Blind Love went to assist the poor earth phony in retrieving their child. By the time she had done her duty, Blind Love was out of breath and tiredly approaching the bench to retrieve her goods when.....
She was met with the sight of an empty bench.
Her heart hammered, eyes flicking about to catch the culprit. No one... except a foal? Mouth tightening, Blind Love approached, apologetically offering a smile once within ear shot distance. She hadn't quiet seen the mirror yet, as Regality was standing in a way that blocked her view of it.
"Oh, hello." She gently called, giving a slight wave. "You wouldn't happen to have seen a hand mirror nearby, would you?"

Regality had just finished fixing her hair for the fifth time in the gorgeous mirror when a soft voice hit her ears.
'"You wouldn't happen to have seen a hand mirror nearby, would you?"'
Startled, Regality quickly lowered it with her magic, turning only just to try to keep it out of sight. Her narrow golden eyes peered up at the owner of the voice, a pink pegasus filly with falling white mane and striking yellow eyes. She faltered a moment. "Oh! Hello! Why..... I... can't say that I have!" she lied, offering her sweet smile. Inwardly she choked.
She had just lied! Well... ok... not like she hadn't lied before but still. Something about the fact that someone would leave something so gorgeous sitting alone on a bench made Regality mentally deem this pony unworthy of such a treasure. Not knowing the circumstances, all Regality knew was that it had been abandoned and in her tiny vain mind, that made her the automatic better owner. "Where ever did you lose it?" she tilted again, trying to keep up the innocent charade while slowly trying to slip the mirror into her saddlebag unseen.

Blind Love let out a soft, disappointed sigh, her ears flopping down as she tried to figure out what to do. "Oh, I suppose you haven't." She sighed, a hoof raising to touch her face as she glanced about.
"I lost it at this bench." She gestured towards the bench, slowly settling onto it. "I'm never this careless, but someone lost their stroller and I rushed to help. When I came back.... well, you know the rest." She frowned at herself, eyes still flicking side to side as she surveyed her surroundings. Well, it was probably time to go to the police station, wasn't it?

The tan filly watched the other closely, studying all her moves in a half worried, half stubborn manner. Regality was still convinced that because this mare had been so careless to leave her mirror lying about that she wasn't deserving of such a treasure. But then the story she spun to go with it...
Bitting her bottom lip as the mare glanced around, Regality dared to speak. "Mayhaps someone just found it and turned it in." she nodded in what she hoped looked like a confident nod, slowly lowering the mirror into her saddle bag so that it was nestled safe and sound. "I'm sure you'll find it soon!" she smiled her usual smile that helped her get her way most of the time.
Except something about it felt off this time.

Blind Love had wandered her gaze back to seeking her prized mirror, causing a start when Regality spoke. Ah, she was right, someone probably had found it and was on their way to turn it in. Surely it was unjust to immediately assume someone had stolen it!
"You're right." She finally admitted, a relieved sigh escaping her as she lowered her shoulders. "I'll stop by the police station, then, and see if anyone turned it in. Thank you." She flashed back her own smile towards the filly, a sweet and gentle laugh escaping her.
"Thank you for listening to my silly worries. I hope your day is wonderful, little one." With that, she turned, about to begin her journey to the police station.

Ehehehehe.....eh...
Regality smiled and dipped her head. "It really was my pleasure!" she beamed as the mare thanked her and heeded her suggestion. A suggestion that wasn't at all true in ANY way shape or form. "I do hope you find it!" she called to the other mare and waved a hoof before turning her back.
Regality willed her hooves to carry her off, and for a few brief seconds they did. She shut her eyes and tried to press on but this nagging feeling kept tugging at her stomach. With a groan, she flung herself around and raced off after the mare. "Wait!! ... Um...." she blurted out when she caught up to the other's side, falling in step with the pink pegasus, not really saying anything for what felt like a long while. Almost as if she were wishing for the other to speak first.

She was surprised to hear the sound of the filly's voice calling to her, slowing her speed as the filly ran to catch up with her. Tilting her head, she looked down at the younger phony.
"Yes?" She gently questioned, tail swishing side to side in rhythm of her steps. Perhaps they wanted to walk with her? Or needed assistance? Her mirror could wait, honestly! She didn't mind lending a hoof if it was needed!

"I um..." she said then paused.
Man the way this mare just seemed so happy despite all that went on just kinda ate at her! "I just wondered if you could... describe the mirror?" she tilted her head to the side as she glanced at the pegasus, trying to trick her own self into thinking the mare would describe another mirror totally un related to the one she'd found and that would make her feel a million times better about all this.

Blind Love slowed her pace, eyes rolling up to the sky as she recollected what the mirror looked like.
"It's silver, with several different birthstones around the glass. It's dainty, and has a stiff handle. It isn't a simple pocket mirror, which makes storing it a bit hard. But I still love it." She responded softly, eyes flicking back to the ground. Oh, now she felt worse.

Regality bit her lip.
It was exactly the mirror she had found, detail for detail.
Sighing, the filly turned her head slightly. "Um....m....mmmaybe...t-t-his?" she groaned inwardly, her gut wrenching as she used her magic to slightly lift the mirror from her bags enough to give the mare a glimpse.... while also still hoping in some strange twisted fashion it wasn't the same one even though she knew better. "I...um... found it.....and....wanted...tokeepitsinceitwasjustlefthere.....but then you looked so sad!" she groaned, letting it just all flow out of her mouth as she scuffed the floor, shut her eyes tight and used her magic to shove the mirror forward.
"So...um....here.... Sorry..." she murmured, not even able to look the mare in the eyes anymore. Man did her pride hurt something fierce right now. None of this felt good.

To say Blind Love was elated was an understatement. The second the mirror was pulled forth her eyes lit up, though a concerned frown touched her features after the filly finished speaking. Keep it? Well, it was her fault for leaving it behind, and really it would have taught Blind Love a good lesson in being more careful. No, wrong, it had, even if she had the mirror in the end. She eyed the filly, noting she looked incredibly uncomfortable already. Regality had been about to let Blind Love leave without the mirror, and the guilt (or perhaps was it defeated pride?) showed.
She didn't need a lecture.
In fact, Regality had done something incredibly amazing. She had returned the mirror despite loving it so. Blind Love looked down at the filly, her frown turning into a soft, appreciative smile.
"Thank you." She lowered her head, pulling the mirror closer before, gently, nudging Regality's cheek. "That must have been hard to tell me, huh? Thank you so much, regardless. You did a good thing." She glanced at the mirror her mother, Noel, had given her, gently clutching it to her chest.
She had an idea.
"You don't have your own hand mirror, do you? If not, I can take you shopping for one sometime this week? My treat."

The filly brought a hoof up to wipe a tear from her eye when suddenly there was a cheek gently pressed against her's. She sniffled and glanced at the mare, her cheeks flushed and hot from embarrassment. "Its.....just... so beautiful." she said, swallowing a hard lump in her throat as she nodded.
That was very hard to admit. A filly who was used to mostly getting her way a lot, well being selfish just came naturally.
However, her ears perked at the mare's words and Regality almost couldn't believe what she heard. "You...mean..... after I.... sorta kinda lied..... you'd still take me shopping?!" she blinked again, this time tears spilling out of her eyes as she leaned forward to latch onto the other in a hugging embrace. "Thank you! So much!" was all she could say for a good long while after that as she simply sobbed unladylike, in both shame and relief.
Finally admitting the truth felt like a huge weight off her shoulders and Regality was able to crack a genuine smile after everything was said and done.
Yushika I think is can be called done! ;u; TY BBY <33
