xxＢＡＣＫＧＲＯＵＮＤ: Ashley was the first born of his mother and her first marriage, a rather accidental situation if you asked him. He grew up mostly ignored by both his parents, with his mother more focused on having her own personal fun and priorities and his father on his work. So Ashley just found ways to entertain himself on his own, going on explorations, tinkering with things and eventually developing a tendency for thrill seeking as he did.
Eventually his mother for her own selfish reasons, divorced his father and left with him in tow, becoming smitten and marrying another man in the short span of a month. Despite distastes for his mother flippant nature, he did like his step-father as he actually gave him a little attention, even getting him into computers and tech. A year later and his sister was born so he kind of had someone to interact with when their father was busy. Ashely became more focused on building his skills and taking care of his sister before things once more spiraled downhill. His step-father was killed in a car accident and his mother started spiraling out of control until she ended up passing away as well a year later. Ashley and his sister were sent off to live with an aunt and uncle on his mother’s side, once more enjoying an ignored existence.
Ashley decided he wanted to go into police work and joined school and training the moment he could. His skills for computers got him noticed and a few years into his work, he was commissioned to join Interpol as a cyber specialist among other things. That was his primary focus of work until recently, with the whole debacle in his section of a supposed rogue agent responsible for recent disappearances in the agency. Now, he gets to go about doing his ‘other’ form of work.

- 11:32 AM. That was the time displayed proudly on the screen at his wrist. Perfect; he’d arrived right on schedule. At least, for his own personal schedule. He didn’t have a set appointment to meet the professor, but he did enjoy being punctual when it came to his plans. It’d been a while after all since he’d been given the chance to perform a hit. Interpol tended to make more use of his cyber intelligence specialties after all; which was why he was employed with them in the first place. That was his main job. But still, though he certainly would never admit it out loud, he was rather gleeful to have an opportunity to use his ‘secondary’ skillset. That was where the real thrills were, and it’d been a while since he had one. Pausing outside the laboratory, he eyed the building a moment. Vaniville was a rather gorgeous town, but that was to be expected in the Kalos region. He couldn’t blame the professor for setting up shop here.
"Sir." An eyebrow quirked slightly as a voice sounded from the X-Transceiver at his side. Without looking he flicked his wrist up and out, the face of the watch –located on the underside of wrist as opposed to the backside as was often the normal way of wearing them- flickering to life as the clock disappeared. "Oui Octave?" He responded, gaze still focused on the building before him, still failing to shift his gaze to the device.
"Miss Fontaine has just sent a message. She will be arriving in Aquacorde Town in approximately forty-two minutes." The voice -electronic to some degree- replied, the wave line on the watch matching the suggested frequency of the words that were spoken. Ashley’s head tilted ever so slightly as he took in the information, quietly seeming to weigh the it in his mind. "I see," he responded, still seeming lost in his own thoughts before finally providing a curt nod to the invisible entity. "Très bien. Merci, Octave." Good; once he’d acquired his necessary materials here, he would be free to move along onto more important matters. He paused a moment about flick his wrist back to his side when a thought seemed to cross his mind. "Let her know that I will be there in zee next thirty minutes or so." He added.
"Yes sir." The watch flickered again before the wave line disappeared and the digital interface for the clock returned. With that handled he flicked his wrist once more and using the same hand, pushed the thick frame of his glasses back up the bridge of his nose. Right then, time to get along with his business.
Without hesitation he pushed to door to the laboratory open and took some steps inside. He paused when he didn’t immediately spot anyone, his hands folding together in front of him as his attention drifted about. It was a very well kept place for a work station. His gaze lingered on the machines that whirled with life nearby, eyebrow quirking in interest. It was often that you encountered legacy hardware and he found his fingers itching just a bit to give it a looking over. He had to wonder what degree of information these systems held; but there was a time for that later.
"’Allo?" He called out as he came to a halt in the middle of the pathway, still looking about in search of life. He didn’t intend to go much further preferring instead to wait until he was addressed. It was more or less, the proper thing to do. -
