The residence is a small stone house located in a secluded section of the Petalburg Woods. It can only be accessed via a path leading from Petalburg City.

The residents of the house are Yuu Takahashi and his adopted parents, Takano and Carina. Both parents have several Pokemon, but each only have one out at a time. There is also a wild Swellow that makes its home in one of the kitchen cabinets; they've given up on trying to get rid of it and instead took to calling it Cupboard and even involving - or at least considering - the bird in any family trips they plan.

"I see. And, you don't want to be a trainer?" Yuu frowned. "It'd certainly be fun. Traveling the regions, meeting new people, running into Pokemon I've never even seen before....But, it'd also get me a lot of attention. I see the news interviews with random trainers and the ones that beat the region champions get a lot of publicity." "Ah, that's right. Your parents. You're afraid they'll recognize you." It was a good thing Takano was so good at reading people. Or, at least, the ones he cared to read. Yuu picked Turtwig up and set him on his lap, rubbing one of his leaves softly and causing the Turtwig to purr happily. Baby was on the other side of the room playing with Carina's Sylveon and showing off her balloon; Sylveon was rather taken by how Baby just flew around with it. "I just don't know if being a trainer is worth the risk."

Having slept on it and spent some extra time thinking about it while he took Baby out to find her breakfast, Yuu came to the decision that being a trainer wouldn't be so awful. So, his parents recognized him. He'd have to go back to Opelucid, sure; answer some questions and maybe even apologize for making them think he'd been abducted. But, he was nineteen. He was more than old enough to have the choice to stay with them or not. And, Yuu knew for certain he wasn't interested in returning to that caged lifestyle. "Guess I'm contacting Professor Rowan." Turtwig looked up at Yuu curiously and the youth smiled a bit. "I think being a trainer would be great. Don't you? Traveling the world and such." "Turrr~!" Yuu looked over when Baby returned, looking full and content. He smiled a bit and leaned down to tie the balloon on her again. "You'll get a bigger variety of things to eat, too. Alright, let's go to town." "Chi?"
