[Happens 2 Hours after Tree]

There was a soft humming sound that slowly grew into a crackling, static like noise as reality seemed to warp within the grounds of Sanctuary, a split appearing in the middle of the air as a tall, muscular figure stepped through it with a bag hoisted over his shoulder. Setting the bag down once he had stepped through the portal - which closed behind him after he had gotten through it successfully - the man stretched and grunted as he did, "Mmm, that was a little rougher than normal." as the man spoke, his voice smooth and deep, a chill went down his spine as he sensed something, or someone familiar. Bright blue eyes snapping open, he turned quickly on his heels and summoned the silver and orange blade to his side, the weight of the long sword causing the tip of the blade to touch the ground as he looked for the familiar aura.

Scanning the area, he found the reason for the aura. The battered and nearly broken soul of his own brother, Zephyr. Eyes narrowing, he grimaced as he walked closer to the body that housed the soul, kneeling down with the sword stuck in the ground and his right hand still clutching the handle, he moved to touch his brothers face. "Oi, shitface..." Corlyrr smacked the side of his brothers face once or twice, but, with no reaction, he sighed and desummoned the sword. "You're lucky I don't want to kill you." He grumbled, reaching down to pick the bleeding and broken body of Zephyr up. Picking the bag he had dropped as well, the archangel made his way to the house that he had within the grounds of Sanctuary.

Once inside, he set his bag down near the door and Zephyr on the couch, ripping what remained of the other shirt of to get a better look at the initial wound, though instantly regretting it. "Damn, they really wanted you dead this time.." Corlyrr muttered to himself, quickly looking away as he felt the bile scratching at the back of his throat, causing him to cover his mouth with his hand just in case. Moving away from his brother, he went to go grab the first aid kid, wanting to cover it up before healing it.

Falling through the shadows, Zephyr felt like he had forever to think, his mind wandering to how he could have been such a fool for trusting Oblivion, for trusting his own malice one more time to see what could happen. What could go wrong, right? So much had gone wrong and his guilt was weighing on him almost in line for the guilt he still carried on him for what he had done to his younger brother, Kees. There would be no getting away from it, away from what he had done. It just kept happening, and he wanted it to stop. Mentally crying out, he found himself groaning as he met with the rain laden grass inside the grounds of Sanctuary, coughing weakly as he opened his eyes just enough to realize that he hadn't actually picked his usual shadow, but had used the passing storm clouds to drop himself off in the center of the actual campus. Smiling weakly, he closed his eyes, letting the exhaustion take over.

Two hours later, he started to rouse, slightly, finding himself being picked up and carried of somewhere, unable to fully make out what the person was saying. Though, he was sure that whomever it was was strong enough to cart him around like some awkward, bleeding ragdoll. Keeping his eyes closed as his consciousness wavered, Zephyr weakly took in a breath, a weak, near gasp of a breath.

Glancing over when he heard the weak, helpless breath, Corlyrr let out a sigh and shook his head, "Honestly, bro, you may be one of the best mercs out there, but you sort of suck at keeping yourself alive." he grumbled as he grabbed the first aid kit and started walking over. Kneeling down and starting to patch up the wound, having to stop every so often to clear his throat as he was having some issues keeping his eyes and hands on it, though once it was done he seemed a little less uneasy. Wiping the blood off of his hands and onto the scraps of the shirt he had ripped off of Zephyr, he put a gentle hand on top of the bandaged wound and focused on healing him [Cure Wounds].

"You're lucky I don't want to just straight up kill you like I used to want to when I first found out.." Corlyrr let out a soft sigh, his eyes closing hal way, though something caught and drew their attention. Looking over to the earring that his brother had on, he had nearly dropped the healing when the soul inside of it shimmered faintly. Grimacing, he pressed down harder on Zephyr's chest, "Okay ********, wake up. I have some questions!" he shouted, pushing even harder.

As the voice hit his ears, he slowly opened his eyes in the realization and horror of where he was and who he was with. Once he got a decent enough of a view of the face, he quickly closed his eyes again, dreading the fact that he was with his brother - the brother who hated him - the brother who he thought wanted to kill him. Yet, he was being patched up, and even healed. His breathing starting to even out, Zephyr smiled slightly, that was before his brother started to press down on his chest.

Letting out a weak grunt, he opened his eyes, which were bloodshot and tired looking. "Jesus ******** Cory, g-get off my chest." he wheezed, coughing a bit and weakly trying to get his brother to move his hand. He was up now, that was for sure.

Seeing that Zephyr was awake, he removed his hand and stood up, crossing his arms in front of his chest, he narrowed his eyes as he looked down at his brother. Or, well, brothers. Corlyrr wasn't very happy, then again he was never really happy with his own brother concerning anything dealing with Kees. He had missed his other brother, the one that was technically no longer among them in the mortal world, but his Soul light didn't lie - Zephyr had at least a piece of their late brothers soul. "Why the ******** do you have his soul?" he asked, quite clearly livid at what he was seeing, though his mind wandered to think about just how long this was going on.

Had this been a thing since Kees' death? Did Zephyr consistently have their brothers soul with him and he just didn't notice? Why did he not see this before - wait, Zephyr no longer had the other soul with him, the original soul that he had seen before and even fought against many times.

"Where's your malice...?" his tone changed to a different one, one o horror mixed with concern. In his travels, Corlyrr had gotten to interact with some interesting people, people who he worked for for a short period of time before his travels called him out again.

Zephyr had actually forgotten that he had been wearing the earring that held Kees' soul gem, his right hand reaching up to hold it gently. Letting out a sigh, he closed his eyes, a small thin frown creasing his lips as he thought about how to answer it, though Corlyrr got his second question out soon after that. That question was one he really didn't want to answer just yet, or at least not fully. Taking in a breath and letting it out slowly, his chest still aching both physically and emotionally from what had happened only hours prior, the mercenary let out a slow, shaky breath. "Second one first - he's dead. Details after I sleep." Zephyr opened his eyes, his gold colored ones meeting his brothers bright, sky blue ones.

He was always amused at how opposite they were, their mother was amused by that, too.

"I have...his soul because I couldn't...just let him go after I did what I had to.." he paused, turning his head to look away from Corlyrr, the pain of what he had done to both his brother and to Ree and Ashral still very fresh. "I wanted him to still be able to see the world... so I put his soul in a gem... I had the gem in a tree until recently, when he asked to help me with something.." he looked up to Corlyrr, a small smile on his lips, "Cory, there's a way we can bring him back!"

Eyes narrowing he let go of Zephyr and sat up fully, his hand balling into a fist as he resisted the urge to punch his still-wounded brother, instead he punched the wall - leaving a small dent in it. "There's no way he can come back - he's been dead for almost twenty years - BECAUSE OF YOU!" Corlyrr shouted, soon standing up and pacing the living room that they were in, letting out a disgusted sound.

"He's dead, Zephyr, there's no way to bring the dead back.." he muttered, stopping in front of the fireplace and looking at the few pictures that he had that remained when the three brothers were children. Both Zephyr and Corlyrr were dark skinned, but Kees was a smattering of skin tones - as if someone had mixed a peach paint with a dark brown - and a mix of their colors - which had always amused everyone who saw it. "You can't just disgrace him by having his soul with you - you're the one who killed him."

Zephyr just sort of laughed a bit, tears streaming down his face. Moving his hands to cover his face, he continued to laugh, soon coughing a bit. "Corlyrr, there's...there's so much you don't know..that we didn't know.." he moved to sit up, but decided against it and just continued to lay on the couch. He had gotten so much information when he had dealt with Kae, and when he was working for SIU for those handful of days - even just having Oblivion around gave him information he never thought he was going to use.

"I spoke to Kae - Doctor Broken - about things...her plan..she never wanted to make us...she wanted to bring back her daughter - Alice. You know, Alice, the one girl who Syth ended up with? We were made in an attempt to resurrect her..the same with the handful of original Manes and Malices. We were just her sick experiment to bring her back from the dead..." he paused and looked to his brother - the brother who was the only living blood he had now - who had his back to him. Taking in a breath, he let it go and closed his eyes, "Alice is alive - still - sort of. She's..in a host body, known as Melody. Melody and Alice share Melody's body...like how Oblivion shared mine." he paused again, this time turning onto his side with a groan.

"Cory, I can put Kees' soul into an item and I can give it to a new meta...he can come back after some time.." he whispered, looking rather excited about that.

Turning around as his brother spoke, Corlyrr stretched and popped his wings out, the brightly colored and radiant quadruple wings stretched and flared as he tried to intimidate him. "You're going to put our own brothers soul..into an item and give that to a child? If what you're saying is true, you're no better than she is." he hissed, reaching down and grabbing Zephyr by the collar of his shirt and picking him up. "Sick experiment or not - we're alive and he was - we should be respecting the souls of the dead unlike her. Have you even talked to h--"

"Corlyrr, stop - please!" The voice was faint, and he could barely hear it, but it was there. The soft, gentle, even scared voice of his late brother, Kees.

"K-kees?" He asked hesitantly before dropping Zephyr unceremoniously onto the couch.

"I...I do want to come back... I just... I don't want to be in a place where humans can torture our kind.." he seemed exhausted, as if just talking was draining energy from him.

"T-tortured? But - didn't....Zephyr kill you?" Corlyrr looked to the earring that Zephyr wore that held their brothers soul, concerned and now very confused.

Zephyr just laid there as he was dropped back onto the couch, soon taking off the earring he had on and setting it on the table so it wouldn't look like his brother was staring at him in horror - which wasn't anything new - but he was trying to talk to Kees. Letting out a sigh, he closed his eyes, bringing his hands up to his face again, "I've tried to tell you multiple times, it was a mercy kill. He was bound to a tree...they had hurt him so badly that I knew there was no way to save him..."

"I asked him to kill me..."

He smiled sadly, tears sliding down his cheeks as he remembered the day vividly. "I didn't want to lose him completely...so I kept his soul...I -.... I didn't know that he would still be conscious..."

Wings tucking neatly behind him and eventually dissipating in a small flicker of light, he let out a pained sigh and moved towards the door. "Stay here for as long as you feel like it, but leave before the next month. Even though he is with you, I will hurt you next time, Zephyr. You still haven't made up for killing him, even if it was a mercy kill. You still have so much more suffering to go through.." Corlyrr muttered before exiting the house and slamming the door behind him.
