She had been watching him for far longer than he had noticed - Duana had seen him with his mothers and siblings before he had set off on his own again. Collecting flowers and herbs before the cold set in and took them all away, as well as keeping half an eye on the border of the Valley Herd's lands. There had been something familiar about one of his mothers - the brown coated mare - but she could not quite place it.
He was easy to keep track of at least, his varied coat stood out against the sky nicely. She had kept to the treeline and followed his path to where he landed, lingering just out of read his body language and figure out how best to approach. This one seemed to be very open, approachable and friendly - which would make it simpler to start things. So Duana emerged from the trees and headed out into the field where she could be seen, standing out like a cloud in an open sky.

Herbs were carefully picked and deposited into the makeshift satchel he carried around his neck. Hyacinthe hummed as he went about his task - always happy to help the herd healers, or anyone else, when there was a need to do so. The found of hoofs crunching in the high grass close by make him look up. "Hello there." Outsiders were welcome in the Valley Herd so long as they had no intention of stirring up trouble.
"Just passing through or seeking something particular?" Many just needed passage through their lands, a service he often provided since he strayed as far from home as the guardians often did.

"Hello." She hadn't startled him overly much it seemed. Good good! "I've been on a long journey, I was hoping to rest somewhere safe for a few days...if it were possible." Though perhaps not alone, if he, or another, were interested in obliging.
"My name is Duana. It is a pleasure to meet you." May as well be polite! She continued toward him at a leisurely pace, putting the barest hint of fliration into her step. "Might I beg the pleasure of knowing my guide's name?" He was watching her with open curiosity - ahhh to be so young and unguarded! Duana was not so young, but she wasn't dead either! He was welcome to look as he pleased. She smiled at his appreciation.

"Hyacinthe." He had been staring more than perhaps was proper, but there was something about her eyes that held him once they looked at one another.
"And I think that can be arranged." Hyacinthe had been given no reason to bar guests from staying. So he saw no reason to refuse her. There were plenty of places to rest and the flora was plentiful. She could have a comfortable few days before she moved on to wherever she intended. He made sure his satchel was closed before he turned and started back toward the usual places guests tended to linger. "Follow me."
And to fill in the traveling time... "Where are you coming from?"

"Everywhere, really. I tend to roam around a lot." It was the truth. Her children had flown free long ago and now she had been left to her own devices since. She had simply gone back to her old life of wandering and charming companions to bring brief excitement into her days. "I do not recall having been here before though. I would remember such a serene place, I think."
These lands were certainly quiet and picturesque, at the foot of the great mountain range. She might stay a few days longer than planned and explore somewhat if the company proved to be good.

"I confess I haven't ranged quite so far, only when my mother went to go visit the rest of her family." His grandparents, uncle and cousins had moved closer to the herd since his Leilani had decided to spend most of her time here with her mate. "Maybe I will one day, but I don't know if I inherited my mother's wanderlust." The Valley would always be home to him, if he did stray he would always return. When he had foals of his own they would be raised here surrounded by love and family.
"But I am always glad to hear of others grand adventures, if they are willing to share." Stories often brought knowledge and news of other places.

"The wanderer's blessing is not for everyone." She could see the value of roots and a home to call one's own but that life was not for her.
"I am happy to share some, if you linger a while." It seemed they had reached their destination since he stopped a few steps ahead of her. A little grove of trees, half turned to autumn colors full of sweet grass and late blooming flowers. "My my this is very nice." A little secluded spot, perfect for a nice evening with a charming young stallion. The way he lingered it seemed like he might stay.

"I would be delighted to, Duana." He did not mind keeping her company, she seemed like a nice enough mare.
Hyacinthe would lead her into the grove and settle down, completely unaware of the plan that the mare had for him. They would talk the entire night and in the early hours of the morning he would oblige her.
