A favor for Adoelle Adoelle covers her mouth with the fingertips of one hand. "I mean, if you did something for me, I'd be happy to help you," she says, "but it's got to be something--important, you know--something that makes this whole thing a little less un bearable. I think what I'm looking for is upstairs, past the plum parlor? You should go get it for me. I'd probably be able to remember what you're asking for then."

To successfully complete Adoelle's favor, you must roll three six-sided die. These will select your solo/duo story elements! If an element has (Fail) next to it, disregard any further rolls and write a short post relating how you got there. You may then retry, but only after your first post is filled!
If you're soloing it, you just fill in that post with your character's progress through the favor. Should you choose to RP this favor with another player (or more than one friend!) please make a thread in the event forum and link it in your roll post when you're done.
FIRST DIE: What do you think she needs?
1 - A stuffed teddy bear
2 - A basket of bear-claw pastries

1 - Yes, but it's in poor condition.
2 - No, but I got a really funny story to tell Adoelle when I get back.

noodle children apparently think adoelle needs hard liquor, run into a cave-in, and then end up losing the booze and having to get MORE clothing.

Shun Kuroda 25/25 | Failing to get stuff.
Shun folded his arms as he listened to her request. Well... that was an incredibly vague thing he had to work off of, but then again, so were most things this evening. Letting out a breath, he started on off to go past the plum parlor as she stated.
Once he was there, he began to look around, trying to see what the hell it was she wanted.
There was a bottle of what appeared to be hard liquor sitting around. This had Shun kind of pause for a moment. If Adoelle was anything like Heliodora, she probably had been here for ages. But she was still technically a teenager...
... Was she still underaged for alcohol?
While he was considering this, a sudden and sharp pang of hunger hit him. The detective had been avoiding all food this evening thus far, and it was taking a small toll on him. He was really ******** hungry. And he had to admit, the food in this place did look pretty damn good. He was still rather worried about any sort of food from this side of the veil, however. No telling what it could do.
At the same time, going around on an empty stomach wasn't going to be doing much good. There was still a lot of time left in the night.
He fell back for now to find something... hopefully safe... to eat.

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - having an unbearable time
The chair was ridiculous.
Nathaniel thought that maybe he could kind of...shuffle it out of the room, if he was careful about it. But there was really no subtle way of moving or carrying an entire chair from one place to another, and surely he would get a lot of strange looks.
Or maybe carrying bear fur chairs around was the norm here.
Nathaniel gave it two tries before he slumped, panting, against the chair and admitted defeat. It was simply too heavy, and he did not have the physical strength necessary to carry such a thing - and really, he thought, there had to be something else he could bring back.Quote: 3 - A chair upholstered in bear fur (Fail)

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - bearly helping
For the third time in probably as many minutes, Nathaniel looked around for a clock.
He'd left his watch at home, and that meant that he couldn't determine the time, which was a little aggravating. It had taken him quite a bit to sidle the bottle of liquor from one of the drink tables, and now he'd been cornered by - well, something in a suit that was a particularly overwhelming shade of pink that Nathaniel would have labeled "offensive."
It took another several minutes before Nathaniel finally made it back to the lady, making his escape when the pink person was distracted by a passing tray of food. The bottle of liquor was slightly dented, but it was still good.
Nathaniel hoped.

Chester Poole: 25/25, wat She hadn't been mentioned since, certainly not by the man who had brought the key, but for Chester, Adoelle Nashua was the reason why he had come. Too shy to approach her outright, he waited until he had a couple of glasses of fairy wine in him before he ventured closer, only to be confronted by a mild bear pun. Why? He hadn't seen a bear here yet. Still, she was willing to help him if he retrieved something she'd left near the plum parlor, and if there was one thing he needed right now, it was help.
He had yet to get near that particular parlor, but he found it easily enough, and just past it he almost tripped over a brimming basket of bear-claw pastries. Chester stared as if some small animal might jump from it screaming, but after five minutes of this he decided he was probably safe. Bear-related food. If this wasn't what Adoelle meant, he was going to have to venture into dangerously creative territory to fulfill her request.
Starting back the way he had come, Chester only realized he had taken a wrong turn when the earth began to shake under his booted feet. Pastries hopped out of his basket like rogue bits of popcorn, and a number of ceiling chunks jumped in to replace them, leaving his offering a little rockier than he'd anticipated. He swayed to a stop in front of Doe with a look of concern on his face that was emphasized by the dirt that dusted his furrowed brows.

Adoelle accepts the liquor and the bear claws, setting them in pride of place on the table behind her. She dusts off a bear claw and takes a bite out of it, sighing happily. "I do! Thank you, both of you. You're sweet." She smiles at them. "It's good you're both masked. Those without masks are candidates for the tithe. I suppose if you chose to give your mask to someone else, it would confer that protection upon them... but then you'd be in trouble." She takes her glass of wine and fills it the rest of the way with the hard liquor. Her own lack of mask goes unaddressed.

Chris did feel bad for leaving Adoelle earlier, although helping Thorne had been his priority and luckily he had chosen right. But he did want to make it up to her and so he went hunting for something that would make this better for her, something that was bear themed as she seemed to imply.
Luckily for him, there was a basket of bear claws nearby. The pastry would be good and he went to grab the basket, when a rather chatty Otherbeing in a suit decided that this was the PERFECT moment to approach Chris about the search from before. Lovely.
"I'm sorry, I really need to go," He said, trying to be polite as possible. But the otherbeing wasn't having it and with, a huff, dumped his glass of water on Chris before walking off.
Well, another trip to the bathroom it was.

Once he was dried off, Chris returned to his search. However, it seemed that bear things were not in high stock. He considered a rather heavy, bear fur skinned chair, but it was rejected for the fact that Chris couldn't drag that across a room to her. It would have to be something else.

Chris Watts || 25/25 || Experiencing Real life D&D
So, not a chair, not the donuts, what could he do? Wandering a little deeper into the halls, he spotted a teddy bear, looking to be sitting quite innocently on something. It looked perfect, almost too perfect, but Chris was going to take it. Confidently he stepped towards the item and in his infinite wisdom, managed to trip a wire, which had the effect of putting a rather sudden cave-in between him in the bear.
"Is.. what?" He said, gaping at what had happened before him. He closed his eyes tightly, before opening them to find that no, there was still stone in front of him. He even touched it, making sure it wasn't an illusion. Lovely. Well at least it would be a story to tell.
"Ah, I'm sorry about earlier. I spotted a friend who needed help," Chris said, approaching her. "I'm also sorry about my lack of gift. I spotted a cute bear but when I went to grab it, I think I activated a cave in? I wasn't even sure that could happen."

Chris gets a smile. Adoelle still has her boozy bear claw party going on, anyway. "It's fine, Mr. Watts," she says. "It's just tradition, you know, to send everyone on tasks before giving them a puzzle piece. So here's yours: There's three patrons here. I'm one of them, and my companions are the other two. By the end of the night, there will be only two."

algernon mercer || 25/25 || fail Alg hadn't done very well. He'd gotten the bear part right, but the chair he'd found upholstered in fur was pretty hideous. There was no accounting for taste.

He hadn't even bothered going back after he'd devoured the bear claws but with a full stomach he began another search. The professor drifted room to room for anything worthwhile but only found milling guests, clinking glasses, gossip and dancing. He took a seat a moment, a break to gather his wits and will for fresh eyes, when an entertainer was brought in and cleared several dancers away. He was a bit like a circus ringmaster, except his animals were all small- cat sized - but they weren't cats. There was a lion, a rhino and a bear. A bear. A cat-sized bear. His fingers itched. He needed it. Adoelle needed it. After the performance he clapped with the rest, before approaching the ringmaster. He explained he needed to borrow the bear. That it was for Lady Adoelle. The man seemed reluctant but when explained it would be returned (possibly a lie) the bear was relinquished into his custody. It was amazing. He held it like a cat. It made cute noises and chewed on his sleeves. His journey back ended up literally blocked by a cave in. One whole hallway was crumbled with a tiny yellow sign that said 'under construction' and a surly gnome standing guard. He returned, longer than it should have taken, but his present was a perfectly small live bear.
