A favor for the Friendly One The Friendly One, Gloom he sometimes insists, perks up when it seems like you are wanting to, just perhaps, trade for information. No, never deals ( never deals), but trades? Trades he is certainly interested in! "Gloom wants-" he pauses and starts again. "I want presents. Not for Glo- me, for others. They have to be shiny! Anything shiny!" Of course, The Friendly One is not really thinking about the fact that you're probably not supposed to be pilfering things from the gardens or the guests but that isn't his problem. It's yours. Good luck with that.

To successfully complete Gloom's favor, you must roll three six-sided die. These will select your solo/duo story elements! If an element has (Fail) next to it, disregard any further rolls and write a short post relating how you got there. You may then retry, but only after your first post is filled!
If you're soloing it, you just fill in that post with your character's progress through the favor. Should you choose to RP this favor with another player (or more than one friend!) please make a thread in the event forum and link it in your roll post when you're done.
FIRST DIE: What do you think would be shiniest to Gloom? 1 - A delicate spider-web covered in droplets of dew. 2 - A single faceted gemstone. 3 - A flower that glistens like the stars. 4 - A pair of lovely earrings. 5 - Pocket change. (Fail) 6 - Pixie dust from what looks more like a gnome.
SECOND DIE: Where do you think you would find it? 1 - In the possession of another Visitor. 2 - Back at your home. (Fail) 3 - In the gardens. 4 - Within a piece of food I tried to eat. 5 - A strange creature who only speaks in whispers and cryptic riddles. 6 - The basement. There was a troll. He did not like me.
THIRD DIE: Do you find it and get it back to Gloom? 1 - No, but I can tell Gloom I got a level up in thievery from trying to steal. 2 - Yes, and he's going to love it so much he'll squeal. 3 - Yes, but along the way the othergulls appeared and tried to steal it. 4 - No, but I found something else that Gloom might like. 5 - Yes, and I am going to give him scritches when I give it to him. 6 - Not only did I not find it but interrupted a tryst. (Fail)
Please quote azuredreams when you're done for information dispersal!

Chel | 25/25 | Trying to Fetch for Bab
Now this was a cute one. Chel very much liked how small he was, and better yet that he was asking for something relatively simple. Not as easy for her as distracting someone for Thorne (which she'd failed, augh), but at least straightforward. Stealing things; not hard.
Especially when his direction was "something shiny."
Some dust on a gnome seemed to fit the bill. At least, it was the shiniest thing in her peripheral. A few masks caught her eye as well, but after what she'd been told about the masks by Sunny she decided not to. Better to let others go on not being a tithe ... whatever that word meant.
She followed the gnome to the garden until he eventually sneezed and a dusting fell onto the ground. She looked a little odd, but she pretend to conveniently drop something from her pocket so she didn't look odd sweeping it up.
The old "oh dropped my contact" gag.
Except when she went to examine the dust, it had grown to a dusky, brownish color. It was dirt. She'd followed a gnome and swept up his dirt. For ******** sake.
On her way back she heard two people murmuring sweet nothings and gave them both an obnoxious wolf whistle. She was maybe the last person to be talking, but she'd been to enough parties to think you at least needed to find a room.

Alexis Tucker: 25/25, finding some Shinies for the Best One This was absolutely not finding jewelry for the Peaceful One (and by finding, of course, Alexis meant 'poaching it off of other partygoers -- it was almost all magical, anyways, they probably wouldn't mind, right? Right??), but Alexis had gotten a little distracted and managed to lose track of Autumn along the way (they blamed the wine), and they'd run into... A. Ferret? Of sorts? A 'Gloom'? There really weren't any proper logistics for otherbeings, were there. Never the less, Alexis heaved a heavy sigh, pulled their dress up slightly further so that it wouldn't snag, and turned to go explore the basement. The dusty, unpleasant, troll-filled -- wait, trolls? -- basement. Never the best of places, and it was even less so after some drinks and makeup; but Alexis was quick-footed enough to make it out mostly alright, an amethyst clutched in one hand and a bruise forming on their equivalent shoulder. "Here," they huffed, handing it off to Gloom. "'s nice. Clean yer basement."

Juniper | 25/25 | Failing at helping Gloom
Juniper wanted to help Gloom. He seemed very nice. So of she went in search of the item she had in mind. In fact, she though she remembered sping something on the hat of another visitor not long ago. So with her eyes peeled, Juniper began her search.
It didn't take too long until she caught the woman slipping into a side doorway. Juniper intended to ask for the item, so hurried after hey, but upon entering into the room, blushed and promptly excited again as she had found the woman entangled in someone else's arms and they were quite intent on each other.
"Oops. Um, I wonder if Gloom would want something else? "

They were greeted upon returning with a squeal, small shadowy paws reaching out for the amethyst and bright white eyes looking very pleased. "I will inform the court," Gloom replied about the trolls, juggling the amethyst in the air a few times before it disappeared within a puff of shadows. His tail twitched and a small paw urged Alexis closer. "Gloom saw them talking," he whispered, back to his third person speech, "the Spinel Lady and the Burning Man. They stopped when they saw Gloom but Gloom heard them! The human ancestry of their target will make it easier!" After that he was much more interested in talking with Lady Red and performing tricks for her. That ended with a present.

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25
Presents for Gloom's friends. This seemed a good cause, Nathaniel thought, as he wandered off to find just that.
It took longer than he expected. The troll, for the most part, was not exactly a friendly sort. Trying to wheedle his way past it with just his wits and a very terrible sense of humor was harder than Nathaniel would have liked, but in the end he thought he was quite successful.
"Here," he said cheerily, dropping the sparkling stone into Gloom's paws and scratching the creature on his little head. "Brought you this."Quote: 2 - A single faceted gemstone. 6 - The basement. There was a troll. He did not like me. 5 - Yes, and I am going to give him scritches when I give it to him.

Chris Watts || 25/25 || Getting gloom what he wants!
A little emboldened by his ability to successfully pass a message on for once, Chris managed to find his way to gloom. Stealing again, but at this point Chris didn't care. He'd burn the whole court down, given a chance really. He was utterly done with this place.
Shiny things hm? His mind went back to the room, thinking of what was there. Pax had been in some sort of shiny dress right? Maybe that was something Gloom would like. He started to shuffle his way past, eyes on the lookout for something like it. It would be his luck that it was on a piece of food and he nabbed it gracefully, wondering how he managed this easily this far.
He had, obviously spoken too soon though since othergulls began to attack for the food. In a less than graceful show, Chris managed to shove the creatures off in a rather efficient manner that he had learned in his childhood. He was doing this right, come hell or high water!
Finally he made it back to gloom, offering him the food with the shiny dew drop on a spiderweb. "Here you go," He said, quite cheerfully, hair a little ruffled.

They arrived at nearly the same time, both Chris and Nathaniel, and Gloom looked so very happy that they had both managed to bring him something. "Lady Spinel and the Burning Man were plotting," he tells them both. "They stopped talking when they noticed me but not before I heard them say that the human ancestry of their target makes it that much easier." The food disappeared, swallowed by shadows, but the webbing remained and Gloom carefully tucked the gemstone into it before they both disappeared.

connor hill - 25/25 - doing stuff badly again
He still wasn't over talking animals. Moreso, he still wasn't sure how much he should trust a talking animal, especially since a certain hamster turned out to be completely ******** evil (and Connor had the barely healed scar on his chest to prove it). However...there was actually something endearing about this particular creature, probably all to do with the manner in which it was dressed. And besides, Connor had already stolen food for someone, why not a shiny as well?
Except that might actually be a little bit harder than plucking a morsel off of a plate just when somebody wasn't looking. Idly, while scanning the room, Connor shoved a hand in his own pocket, and felt coins there. Pulling them out, he stared at them for a moment and wondered, would that do?
Probably not, he decided, as it felt a little bit cheaty. With a sigh through his nose, he pushed them back into his pocket, and began to ponder what else might work.

connor hill - 25/25 - try try again but nope
Okay so what if, what if, he could just transport himself back to his place and get something from there? In fact, he had the perfect thing in mind. Something incredibly shiny and sure to impress.
Connor let out a dry laugh at his own little fantasy. There was no way anybody was letting him out of this place before the tithe, he was sure.

connor hill - 25/25 - ((long drawn out sobbing))
So Connor finally decided that in order to find something he was actually going to have to do some looking. There was bound to be something adequate knocking about, surely. Somehow, somewhere along the way, his wandering led him into nearly colliding with a flitting, incredibly odd looking, sparkly a** dust spewing....pixie?
Connor blinked a couple of times, and then it occurred to him, the dust, it was shiny! But where had the little freak flown off to? Connor turned a circle, and thought he saw it not too far off. Quickly following, he lost sight of it near an open doorway, one with stairs that led down, down, down....
Pausing for a short moment, he stole himself and took the first step, his boot creaking against the wood, when suddenly below in the darkness he heard a gasp, and hushed frantic whispering that sounded a lot like "Where are my pants?" and "My lipstick is smeared".
Hesitating, he thought about calling down the stairs, saying something crude. And then he thought, nah, ******** it. He had other things he needed to get back to doing.

Why there was a troll in the basement, Autumn couldn't say. Personally, she was rather disappointed it wasn't a dungeon (her lovely quoted probably wouldn't be appreciated here, anyway), but she had managed to navigate her way around the thing. Apparently, multiple visitors had been by this way, and the troll was getting rather tired of socializing. Autumn understood that. Sometime later, she was back to where the odd little thing called Gloom had been waiting, and offered him a scratch under the chin as she dropped off the rock.
"Here you go, little guy. ...Girl. Whatever you identify as."

Gloom did not respond so well to the scritch, especially with what Autumn said. There was a low rumble, the shadows darken and lengthen. "I heard Lady Spinel and the Burning Man conspiring," his eyes are bright and focused, "their target was once human. It makes things easier." Then he snaps his teeth at her. Best to leave.
