Bebe listened to Claire attentively, torn between enthusiasm for a chance to prove herself and despair for the poor lost children. As soon as the guide explained that they were allowed to go searching for them, Bebe bounded off into the forest with her lamp, too eager to find the kids to even form a group with her friends. "Where are you guys?" she spoked aloud, but was careful not to shout too loudly; now that she'd explored a bit deeper into the forest, she was aware of all the spooky stories about it, and wasn't sure if she should attract too much attention to herself. Biting her lip nervously, she looked back to make sure she could still see the comforting red glow, trying to avoid panic sweeping over her.

Bebe continued to roam the forest, not a single noise but the sighing of the trees penetrating the silence. "Hello, kids...?" she was almost whispering now, scared to awaken the mighty beasts she was imagining lurking behind every tree. "You're very good at hide and seek, but let's play another game now!" she ventured in a vain attempt to lure them out; Bebe was never good with kids.

This kids were tiny monsters. Callixtus grumbled as he wandered through the forest, holding his lamp high to try and illuminate as much area as possible. It didn't seem to be helping all that much, but it didn't hurt to make the attempt, right? He felt bad for that poor man, if he had to deal with those kids on a regular basis, he'd probably be in tears daily. Not that he had much experience with kids anyways, but... Well, the point still stood. He sighed. He still ached from the bee stings and he was getting pretty tired. Exhausted, really. Hopefully they could wrangle these kids in shortly; he'd really like to sleep tonight. He glanced over as he heard a familiar voice, not far off from him. "Bebe, is that you?"

Bebe was on the verge of tears, despite only just beginning her search. She was scared for the kids and, at this point, scared for herself. Why didn't she grab her friends before running off? So stupid! Just as she was about to let out a little sob, she heard a familiar voice. Ears perking, her head whipped around towards Callixtus immediately. "Cal!" she cried out in relief, following her fluffy ears and finding him swiftly. "Oh Cal, I'm so relieved to see you! These kids are so elusive and and I was so stupid for coming by myself," she explained in exasperation, turning this way and that to spot one of the children.

Callixtus mustered up a smile as Bebe made her way over to him. It was nice to end up with a familiar face. "You are no more stupid than I am. I am out wandering around by myself as well. Which, I do have to admit, was probably a poor decision on my part." He said with a soft sigh, holding up his lamp to light up their area. "I am a bit loathe to say anything bad about children, but these kids are a giant pain." He shook his head. The quicker they found them, the better. "I guess we should pick a direction and stick together. I really don't want to wander about in the dark by myself anymore."

Bebe laughed weakly, smiling up at Callixtus. "At least now we can be stupid together," she said somewhat-reassuringly. She chuckled at his remark about the children. "They're just really good at a game that we haven't even been given the rules for," she pondered with a shrug; she was feeling more confident now that she wasn't alone. "That's a good idea! And I was thinking, well... maybe I could make some illusions to lure them?" she suggested meekly. She hadn't been able to attend an illusion class yet, but her species were naturally good at it and she'd been taught the basics by her family. Biting her lip she exerted all her effort into creating a small, dancing light in front of them. "It won't last very long, but I can make a new one once it disappears," she explained as the light split into two smaller dots, mimicking glowing eyes in the forest. That would get her attention, in any case; hopefully it would work on the children.

Samhain was out on a mission. He was going to find that kid. It was getting somewhat personal. So much so that to say it wasn’t Samhain anymore would be accurate. The second that Samhain had dodged the rocks Salem had decided enough was enough. Besides he was a good headmate and he did care about Samhain’s health. So his other side could rest for a while. Besides after the spiky things in the road that he had to walk around and then the rocks even he had an investment in finding the kid. He was so focused that he walked right past Callixtus and Bebe, obviously being quite focused in finding this kid. It was only at Samhain suddenly yelling in his head that he turned to look at them. Ah that was right, Samhain had been worried about Callixtus earlier and he had waned to introduce Harley to Bebe in the hopes she would get more confidence. Salem supposed he could check on his pack to make sure they were okay. So he reluctantly back tracked, waiting for Bebe to stop what ever she was doing. Ah illusion casting. It was a good idea.

Callixtus watched Bebe's illusion with a small smile. "It's a good idea and it's worth a try. It's better than anything I can offer at any rate. I don't think anything in my camera bag could help in this scenario." He chuckled and shook his head. All he could possibly do with his set of skills would be to hurt someone's eyes temporarily with the flash. "Maybe the lights will draw them out or startle them?" He blinked as Samhain suddenly stalked out of the shadows, not even seeming to notice them. Odd. Should he call out to him? He seemed upset, or rather... Focused. "Huh, alright then."

Bebe walked forward hesitantly, floating the 'eyes' in front of her. To her great relief, they didn't go out from the movement. "Thanks Cal, I know it isn't much but I-" she stopped mid-sentence as she saw Samhain walk past. "Sammy? Sammy!" she shouted joyously, her illusion disappearing as she rushed to her friend in excitement. "I can't believe I've found you both! How lucky!" Realising her illusion had disappeared, she focused on making them reappear again, this time emitting an eerie red glow. "I don't know, Cal, I think taking a photo of them might end up useful... Maybe we can flush 'em out and startle them with a flash," she suggested conspiratorially, floating the illusion in front of them; those 'eyes' would make her run away for sure, hopefully straight into their awaiting arms.

“Sorry one of the kids is a little hellion. I’ve run into them twice now and the pranks that they pull are getting out of hand. It’s slowly become a vendetta on catching him I guess” Salem replied. “Everyone doing okay? Any new injuries or pain medication I need to give out? Sam-” crap, he slipped up there “I should change out that ice wrap thing. Nashira’s stings where hurting her just a while ago” “And hey there Bebe, it’s nice to see you again. We might want to figure out how to add more interesting elements to the illusion…. Like I said the bra- mmm the child or at least the grey one is a brat. Also be careful for rocks.”

Bebe looked at Samhain curiously. He was acting... odd, and the bakeneko was good at picking up on stuff like that. She scrunched up her nose for a moment, thinking about what it was. She put it down to being exhausted from the trip and settled for smiling happily at him. "I'm sorry they've been bothering you, but it's great to know you've seen them! That means they're safe... well, alive, in any case," she finished half-heartedly. She felt a little disappointed when he said her illusion wasn't good enough, and she wondered how she could make it better. "I'm... I'm sorry, Sammy, but this is the best I can do," she said with slight imploring in her voice, hoping for affirmation, "I'm only a junior, after all, I haven't even been able to take illusion classes." The red orbs flickered, as if reflecting the disappointment she had in herself.

"If you think I can startle with the flash, I can certainly try it. I'm not sure how much it will help though. I think your illusion spell is better and I wish I had any talent in that area." Callixtus chuckled and shook his head. It may help, if they hadn't seen a camera before, it was possible that it would throw them off. It was worth a shot at least, but he wasn't very hopeful about it. "No more injured than before." He offered a small smile to Samhain. The hybrid was acting strangely, but it was the trip was stressful and it was possible that it was starting to take a toll. Maybe. He shrugged mentally. It probably wasn't a big deal, right? "The pain killers have worn off." "I think your spell is fine, Bebe, do not worry."

Salem inwardly winced at his choice of words and ignored how unhappy Samhain was at him for upsetting Bebe. He hadn’t quiet meant that, although normally he wouldn’t really care but… ugh people where such hard work. “Ah sorry for my poor wording. It’s just been one of those days. To use an illusion was a really good idea; I don’t think anyone else thought to use one. I don’t know much about the other kid, but at least the grey one is a bit of a prankster and is really slippery when you try to catch them. I guess what I meant to say was the illusion is a pretty good start and I was thinking like a senior. It’s really impressive; you should look into maybe taking an illusion class as a senior. I guess what I meant by adding more interesting elements, was not to change the illusion at all, but maybe Callixtus and I could make rustling sounds or something to go along with the eyes.” Hopefully that got what he meant out clearer, he was pretty bad at reassuring people, it was more Samhain’s job after all. "Ah sorry I should have been around to check earlier. Bad job as the groups healer right?" He leaned down to pull out the necessary items from his pack. l Duckeh l since Bebe actually got a winning role, she totally did bring the kids over Obnoxious Obscurity and sorry for all the quotes I swear this one will be the last one OTL

Meimu was considering leaving - screw Tomoe, he knew how to get home and this was getting out of hand. He'd only stopped for a moment to examine some wisps that had been passing by- though the sound of voices coupled with an approaching glow quickly brought him out of that particular activity.
Narrowing his eyes, he stared in the direction of the approaching group. How did they keep finding him?! Frustration growing, he looked around for something to fend them off with and... really only spotted a lagging couple of wisps. Well, there were a few sticks laying around... He gathered them up, then quietly made his way toward the glowing lights - were those... eyes? Temporarily transfixed, he stared at the minor illusion without really thinking about hiding his presence- though when Samhain spoke up about being the group's "healer," he snapped out of it. Still without speaking, he raised the sticks in both of his hands, and hurled them at the illusion eyes- then turned to flee before any of them could make an attempt at grabbing him. His little wisp companions lingered behind, though. Unable to keep up with the speedy child.
Maybe the group wants to take them in?
[Each person in this RP may take a wisp. Your characters were not harmed by the sticks.]
