Tian sat at the edge of a high-rise rooftop. The night air was cold, but refreshing. She had spent many days and nights in stuffy rooms so the change felt good. Taking a deep breath, she looked up into the sky. Time had passed, but she still remembered going into the Surrounding, essentially dying, and then coming back to life.
It seemed odd to her still, but she was less mad. She had a good life, both as Candice and TianGuan. Candice was slowly getting closer to her doctorate, and she'd be able to heal people soon. TianGuan was of super rank and was able to protect people... That was enough, right?
Tian wanted more - she just couldn't place exactly what she wanted. It was confusing.
Then, she thought about her star. Well, stars from the little research she had done in between studying. Tian had only visited once, and her heartstrings tugged for her to go again. She knew she wanted to go again, to see it's splendor... but it was also so... Void. Desolate. Lonely.
"Maybe... I could bring someone with me? But whom..."

Remarque had to divide his time in many ways, but he had never let it cut into his time powering up. He had been admiring the night sky from afar, taking a slow, easy walk while he enjoyed the cool evening. He had long since learned to tune out energy signatures, if he didn't feel like paying attention to them. Once, he would have stayed alert and observed everything, but now?
Even if only in his Eternal form, like he was tonight, he knew he had little to fear.
Still, he felt the energy signature and at first intended to gloss over it—only, he was close enough that he could see colors.
Colors that were just familiar enough that they nagged at the back of his mind, but not familiar enough that he immediately recognized them.
Curiosity spiked, he approached.
He knew he knew her—but her name eluded him. He smiled, all the same. "Long time no see," he greeted. "No youma tonight, I see."

Tian was still looking up into the night sky when she noticed someone was approaching her. She could tell the energy source was Chaos and stronger than herself, but she didn't care. Not tonight. She wanted to relax and would have to just tell them to find someone else to bicker with.
She was about to turn around and shoo them away when she heard their voice. It was oddly familiar. Tian watched him as he approached and realized that she knew his voice because he had saved her. More than once. "I... don't remember if we've met before like this..." For sure, he knew her civilian identity, but the link had to be protected.
Tian tilted her head to the side. Should she feign not knowing him? "Yes, it has been a long time..." She paused, debating. "I'm sorry... I've forgotten your name..."
"Liar..." Tian thought to herself. "Remarque!"
"You can join me for star gazing if you'd like." Tian turned and looked over the edge of the building again. She scooted over a bit to make room. "But if you're looking for a fight, you'll need to go elsewhere. Or... you can take on the youma."Kyuseisha no Hikari (( HURR... I just noticed they never really met both powered up XD ))

Remarque seemed amused. "It's Remarque. I don't know if I ever got your name in the first place, so I can't blame you for not remembering mine."
He moved to sit next to her, somehow managing to flop down as if he didn't have a care in the world while still landing with enough poise that everything seemed deliberate and cautious. "…I'm not here to fight," he added a few seconds later.
There wasn't really any point; he would gain nothing from a battle with her.
"What's got you stargazing? …The view's a bit better outside of the city, you know. Out there, I'd bet it's beautiful." He nodded towards the sky and scanned the bright lights. He remembered what it was like when they'd been up on the Surrounding. How beautiful and untainted the expanse of sky had been.
…And despite how terrible the Surrounding had been, he missed it.ATh e a r t The only time they ever met while they were both powered was during her awakening, I think :'D

"It's a pleasure seeing you again, Remarque." Tian was still looking up at the stars. "And I'm glad to hear that. It's much too nice of an evening to be fighting." She knew fighting was a daily thing between factions, but it just wasn't something she was interested in. Tian's civilian life was working towards being a doctor. How could she hurt people?
Tian took a deep breath and let it out slowly, wondering how to answer Remarque. "Well, civilian life has been pretty busy. I haven't seen the stars from outside the city on Earth, but I have seen everything from my home world."
"Maybe that's what I miss? It was... an ethereal experience and I haven't been back there in a while." Tian looked over at Remarque. She knew Senshi and Knights can visit their home worlds and wonders, but didn't believe the Chaos factions could. "Does that sound weird to you?"

"Weird?" he parroted, promptly shaking his head. "Doesn't sound weird to me, at all. I miss my homeworld, in a sense. I've got a longing to be up there, to be with the stars. Not necessarily away from Earth, but I want to be out there. I want to be a part of something bigger. Something in me keeps telling me to try to get out there, and all I can figure is that I've got to have something out there calling to me. It's probably stronger for you, if it's anything like what I feel."
He shrugged. "But then, your homeworld needs you more. Yours needs you, and you need it. You should visit sometime," he suggested, glancing at her. "What's keeping you from it?"

"That seems... so sad." Tian wasn't sure how to respond. For someone to feel so much want but to have no access to it. There she was, able to access and wanting, but not doing anything about it. She felt pathetic."You're a big part of the Dark Mirror Court, are you not? At least you're important to your people."
She tried to look at him and smile. Tian hadn't done much and played a minor part of a larger whole. There was a desire for something more, but she could never place it.
"Nothing... physical is keeping me. To put it simply, it's just so lonely." She tried her best to re-call what she had seen there. "Beautiful, certainly. Much different feeling than on Earth, but... Knowing it was a bustling society sometime and just lacking everything was also overwhelming. "
Tian stared down at the ground. "Maybe I'm afraid of going back alone? I want to be there, but... I don't know." She shrugged her shoulders, not knowing how to describe it any better.

Remarque seemed distant for a second but simply shrugged. He could have played up being ‘sad’ but he didn’t really feel the need to--not with Tian.
He didn’t comment on his status in the Dark Mirror Court; as much as he wanted to brag, he couldn’t resist an opening when he had one.
“Well then, it sounds like you just need to find someone to go up with you. You want company?” he offered. “I don’t have much going on, so if you ever need someone to chase away the silence…”
His voice trailed off and he shrugged. “I mean, if you’re willing to risk letting a Dark Mirror Senshi tag along.”

Tian had paused when Remarque mentioned wanting to go up to her star. Immediately, she thought of her coursework. To do what she was doing tonight - absolutely nothing - Tian had prepared and was a days read and work ahead of where she had to be. It had caused her to space out until Tian realized that it was a bit rude. "I'm sorry! The pause wasn't about you."
"I'd love for you to experience my star. I had just been thinking about my coursework and was thinking of when we should do it." She thought back to her readings and what had assigned. If there was going to be another night not studying, she would need to possibly be two or more days ahead. Maybe she could do this in a week? "Would you be busy in about a week? I just need to be ahead in my classes for me to allow myself to not study for a full night."
She scratched her head. "It sounds a bit dumb, I know, but learning is a lot easier when you're ahead of the professors lectures, not behind. We could meet here again in a weeks time. Maybe right before the sunset?" Every time Tian realized how much she had on her plate, it felt exhausting. She definitely wouldn't have the energy tonight.

Remarque wasn't about to admit that the pause had, at first, been a bit disenchanting; when Tian clarified, he just offered what seemed to be a kind smile.
"I'm available in a week," he replied, after only a second or two of thought. "And just before sunset sounds good. But I suppose, I should let you know that your reasoning doesn't sound dumb at all. Do you get harrassed a lot for being a good student?"
He still seemed a bit amused. "I think your diligence is admirable. Should I bring anything for the trip?"

"Okay cool!" Tian turned around from the ledge and stood up on the roof. If she wanted to get ahead, she should start tonight with what little time left before she had to sleep. Turning back to him, she grinned. "It's hard to be intimidated with a bunch of others working towards their medical degree. We all just want each other to make it. It's different when trying to get into a program versus actually being in it."
She was going to say bring some water and possibly snacks, but Remarque was going to be her guest and she would be responsible for that. "No worries! I'll bring everything necessary. You are going to be my guest after all."
Tian stretched her arms above her head and took in a deep breath. "Well, if I'm going to be ahead for next week, I'm going to have to start tonight! So sunset, a week from today. Don't forget, okay? Don't stand me up!" She winked.

The amount of enthusiasm and kindness Tian was showing was enough to make Remarque crack another smile. "Wouldn't dream of it."
"You go be safe, good luck studying. I'll see you here, sunset, a week from today," he promised. Her offer wasn't one he intended to make light of her offer; Tian was one of the few White Moon Senshi he'd met that had a genuinely good energy about them. Like she was too innocent to set up a trap or try to trick him. He'd have to talk to her next week about being more careful; he'd have been upset if the Negaverse got to her.
He'd have to pitch the Dark Mirror Court her way eventually, but for right now he was happy just heading into space.
He waved and then turned, intent on giving her some semblance of privacy while they parted ways.

Tian waved when Remarque waved to her and watched as he walked away. She started her way off the roof and headed in a random direction until she couldn't sense anyone nearby. Then she powered down and headed home.
There was a lot of excitement bubbling inside of her, but she needed to concentrate if Tian didn't want to stand up Remarque. She was confident she could get some more work done tonight. That was, unless her dog managed to get in the way..
