I'm highly disappointed in the gaps between albums, though I'm honestly disappointed in the last album too. Their third album wasn't aggressive and wasn't what I would've expected to hear from them. I believe shortly after it was released, they were released from their label, Wind-Up Records, allowing them to become independent artists. Soon thereafter there have been a few lineup changes. They've done a couple shows in 2015, and are planning to tour some later this year.
Unfortunately, there's still no plans for a new album as Amy Lee's recently released an Extended Play of covers and is soon to release a children's album.
Personally, I'd say following Evanescence is a lost cause.

See, now she's announced an autumn tour. She needs to stop fooling around and set Evanescence as her main priority. ******** the tour, she needs a new album.

Hopefully an album will eventually follow.

Since the creation of this thread, Evanescence has released "Synthesis" which shows a stylistic change in the bands sound as sell as a live album supporting it. As of 2020, "The Bitter Truth" is the fifth upcoming album by the group.
