 Quinn yawned lazily, resting their arms and head on top of the guitar lent to her by the teacher. She was sitting in a circle of other freshlings, all of whom seemed to be wearing eager expressions at the prospect of learning a new instrument. Quinn was excited too, in her own way, but her levels of excitement never reached all-too-high. The elf was used to succeeding in everything they tried, so she doubted the beginner lessons of learning guitar would be too difficult. At current, the teacher was explaining the basics of the instrument, introducing them to terms such as 'chords' which, naturally, Quinn had already learned briefly before attending the class. With another stifled yawn, she looked around the group, gazing at the faces of the freshlings she was with.Midnightglow18 i hope this inspires at least one of your bbys ! i was thinking the teacher might partner them up ?

 Alecto was napping under his drums, he wasn't ready to get up from his nap just yet. Then he rolled over on his back and stretched and rubbed his eyes and then yawned and grumbled "Why does nap time always have to end??" Then he saw his drum set he kept in the music room since he had gotten in trouble for playing his drums in the middle of the night in the dorm room. Picky picky, why couldn't Alecto sleep at 2 in the afternoon and drum at 1 am. Alecto climbed up to his seat and waited for the lesson to start, even though it was already pretty good at the drums, during the day he was a lazy little creature. (Works for me, maybe Alecto doing the base rhythm while, Quinn does the melody??)

Blinking sleepily at the class, Quinn noticed the other freshling that seemed to awaken from a nap. She grinned at him sheepily, before realising the teacher had taken a pause in speech. It seems the class was to be sorted into pairs, and chance had it that Quinn was paired with the rainbow-haired boy. She walked over to him, hauling her guitar with her. "Drums, huh?" she commented unnecessarily, nodding towards the boy's instrument, "Been playing long?" Quinn sprawled onto the floor, lazily plucking at the strings of her guitar as the room slowly filled with amateur music.Midnightglow18 sure ! hopefully quinn does as well as they think they will lmao

Alecto rubbed his eyes to get ready to get back to his thing, his drums. Alecto smiled a little and yawned again, covering his mouth. Alecto nodded, as long as he got to play his drums, pairs didn't matter too much, but this kid looked pretty neat, so all the better. Alec giggled in his head, in a sleepy silly daze before he shook his head and focused on what the kid said. "Yup, I like drumming dude and you?? I'm Alecto by the way." Alecto thought a moment and then said. "I've pretty much have been drumming since I could hold a drumstick, but I like music class, no one complains about the noise." Alecto started playing his beat steady, it was old hat for Alec but he was happy.

Yawns being contagious and all, Quinn couldn't help but let her mouth open wide in a yawn when the other freshling did so. "Quinn," she she introduced in response, grinning lazily at Alecto. She grimaced slightly as he mentioned how long he'd been playing, already making her feel uncomfortable with her own skill level. "Pretty much an expert already, huh?" she commented with a shrug and slight smile, "hope my first time doesn't hurt your ears too much, then." Quinn tried to carry a rhythm she'd been looking at in her music book, and she managed to carry the tune of 'greensleeves' well for her first time.

Alecto kept his beat even when he yawned back and laughed, maybe Quinn and he could be nap buddies. Alec wasn't crazy about 'greensleeves', but it was a very common music class song and a song Alecto would likely hear many more times before he graduated from the academy. Alecto smiled at Quinn "I doubt you could make my ears bleed unless you came in playing something boring at 6 am trying to make me do stuff." Alecto said cheerfully, starting to wake up a little more. "I prefer the nightlife, playing my drums, I just wish I could play in the dorms, but no go." Alec pouted.

Quinn smiled sleepily back at the boy, trying to remember the tune as she plucked along. "Everything is boring at 6am," she responded with a chuckle, "chances are I'll just be sleepwalking if you wake me up that early." No, she was somewhat certain she'd never pull such a stunt; the thought of it almost made her laugh out loud. "Hm, they can be pretty harsh, huh? Too bad drums carry so far," Quinn agreed with a shrug. She had almost come to the end of the parts of the song she knew, so in a bold move she started to simply strum a random rhythm, hoping it would all come together alright. "Your dorm-mate play music, too? Could make things easier," she thought aloud.

Alecto smiled laughed, then yawned again. 'Right, you are." The morning class was still too early in Alecto's book. As he drummed the beat to the song that Quinn was playing. Alecto laughed again and smiled and said. "We can be zombies together dude." Alec said cheekily. Alecto frowned and said "Yea, but I've always loved the drums and you can bet I'm not giving them up for piano or clarinet." Alecto said with a scrunched up look on his face. Alecto bit his lip and then said. "I don't have a roommate yet." Alec frowned wondering if he should apply to get a roommate or wait for someone to be assigned to his room.

Quinn usually would have been bored of any activity by now, but she was enjoying the company of Alecto, and found the strumming of the guitar suprisingly soothing. She chuckled at his remark, shaking her head lazily. "Zombies, huh? A little too ugly for me," she joked, being a rather superficial little elf. Quinn stopped laughing when Alecto grew defensive of his instruments. She shrugged, "I can appreciate that... don't worry, I'm not keen to take them away from you." Quinn hesitated with her playing when he said he didn't have a roommate. With a slight cough she resumed playing, saying casually, "Yeah, me neither. I guess it means I can practice in peace." Should she ask if the two of them could be roommates? It seemed ambitious, considering they'd just met, but she'd come to like the boy and his music.

Alecto laughed as he drummed and said. "We could always dress up as zombies for the holiday this fall." Alecto said cheerfully. Alecto really liked Quinn, they seemed nice and things with them just kind of clicked. Alec smiled "I hope not dude, that would really harsh the vibe between us." Alec said. Alecto looked down at his drums, continuing the beat. He thought about asking Quinn if she wanted to apply to be roommates together, but he wasn't sure either if he should. Would she think he was a jerk if he did?? That so wouldn't rock on, that would really harsh Alecto's vibe.

Alecto laughed and said "Let's both be. That is so funny!! Aristocrat zombies." Alecto shrugged as the teacher gave him the warning eye for getting to excited. Alecto just kept on drumming, not much stopped him when he got going. Alecto smiled again at Quinn and said. "I'd like that and sure, you'd likely make a better roommate than anyone else since you won't bug me to wake up on our days off from class." Alecto said cheerfully "Then we can come to the music room and jam." Alecto didn't realize that Quinn was a girl, not that it would matter much to him, everyone was Dude to Alecto.

Quinn grinned at her musical partner when he approved of her idea. "We can moan like 'eurgh, brains....' and then we sniff someone and go 'eurgh, not peasant brains....' and walk away," she laughed at the thought of it. Her grin continued when he agreed to be roommates, though she was looking back down at her guitar now. "Sounds good," she agreed, especially the idea of practicing more. It was only now that Quinn realised she had somewhat lost the made up tune she had been playing. "I'll sign us up after class" she said lazily, though internally she was filled with excitement that she rarely felt.Midnightglow18 quinn is bigender btw ! they change up their pronouns all the time aha also we could wrap this one up soon, if you'd like ~ idk what else to do with it ahaha

Alecto finished the song and put down his drumsticks, thinking about what Quinn was saying. Alecto shrugged "Sure I guess so, not sure if I get it though dude.." Alec said kinda confused. "I'm sure we can brainstorm what aristocratic zombies would say." Alec started laughing big time, giggling rolling around on the floor like a goofball. The teacher rolling his eyes at Alecto as the bell rang for the end of class. Alecto got up "That sounds great Quinn." Alecto really liked Quinn and thought they would make really good friends. Alecto grabbed his backpack and pulled out a piece of paper to write down his cell number to give to Quinn so they didn't lose track of each other. Alec smiled and said "See you later Quinn." He said warmly.
