Even with Chris' particular knowledge and acceptance of Other Ashdown, he still did not like strange men showing up at his apartment seemingly waiting for him. Less so when he couldn't figure out their appearance and he was reluctant to take the invitation, only doing so when it became apparent that whoever it was wouldn't leave until he did.
He only opened it in the comfort of his apartment, mouth pressed into a thin line as a key slid out into his hand (offering an explanation to the weight that he had felt) and his eyes trailed over the invitation. It was perhaps the nicest way he had ever been invited to Other Ashdown, but it felt less like an invitation and more like a rather overly polite way to say that he should probably show up. What would happen if he didn't, he didn't know and it probably wouldn't be anything terrible, but it still didn't feel like a good idea to ignore it. Whoever The Sorrowful One was, they had caught wind of Chris and were requesting to meet him. This was probably the nicest way they would and he would be stupid to turn down something like this.
He trailed his thumb over the invitation once more, flipping it over to see if there was anything else on the back, before resting it on the counter and slipping the key into his pocket. No, he would go, for the opportunity to meet and to see something new. Find out a little more about the strange place that was growing more and more familiar everyday. But before that, he had some texts to place, some information to find. If anyone else he knew had gotten an invitation, some information about fae so he would know what to do if he went. Tithes, sounded distinctly like Fae and he wouldn't be caught unawares.
And maybe, if he had time at the end, Chris would call Hyejin to help plan something to wear. Appropriate dress was required, after all.
