Sully's currently working on the release of his second solo album while Shannon and Tony have their own blues project to work on. They're going to be regrouping to work on an album to be released in 2017.

I agree. The production for 1000hp was a bit questionable. It had a powerful message to it, but I didn't like seeing the ego show more in the songs. I like the older, darker stuff. It seems with each album, they're getting more and more washed up. It's unfortunate. However, as for Sully's solo stuff, there's a boost in creativity. I've just heard the new song "Don't Comfort Me". It's brought him out into a new type of music. I'm interested in hearing the rest of the album.

"We could've done something this year and dropped it next year, but we thought it would be cooler to wait until [the 20th anniversary]. We don't know how much longer we're gonna go for; We may do another five, 10 records, or this may be the last one. But if we decided not to do it any more I Think a better way of being remembered is going out and doing a real theme-based show around the first album, play the whole first record front to back and then all the hits and the new stuff and the fun stuff. So that's why we're gonna wait; We'll record late next year and do an early 2018 release and then do a world tour with that." ~Sully Erna An interview with Billboard

They've gone against their word twice in one year. Waiting so long in between records really isn't good.

They've only managed to release two studio albums this decade, and though The Oracle was a decent album, it wasn't worth waiting that long for.

They're decent. I'm just hoping their next album is better than 1000hp. I was highly disappointed with it.

Apparently Godsmack is teasing a new album through their social media websites. First couple of shingles are supposed to hit the airwaves later this month.
