Quote: This opponent is difficult solo, and pairs are suggested! A small swarm of birds spot you and swoop in like they're of one mind to attack. Their bronze beaks glint wickedly, and their metallic feathers catch the sunlight. They attack by launching these feathers or by flinging their poisonous dung. Hit points: 60 Damage: 5 damage each time they are attacked. If you successfully kill this bird, each party involved in the battle gets 15XP and rolls 1d100 to collect loot according to the following: 1-60: You gain nothing but the victory of having beaten this opponent. 61-75: Poisonous Dung: You manage to collect a vial of the vile stuff. It can thrown at an opponent once to poison them, dealing 1 damage for 3 turns. After this it is consumed and leaves your inventory forever. 76-90: Heart's Blood: You manage to collect a vial of the creature's blood. It can be used once to replenish 3 HP, at which point it is consumed and leaves your inventory forever. 91-100: Metal Feather: Once per battle, you can backstab with this small dagger. Add 2 to your final damage. This item is reusable, and remains in your inventory.

Here she was, at it again.
But this time, she had Mr. Punk Legolas to join her in the fray. "Sup Robin Hood?" Mercy smiled and rested her left half of her body on her war hammer while waiting for Rob to get ready. These birds were vicious and bloodthirsty, so being unprepared is something that really wasn't recommended.

Rob couldn't help but grin as he approached Mercy. "Robin Hood. That'd be more appropriate if I used a bow, wouldn't it?" In truth, it wouldn't, since he was named after the legendary folk hero. But it was good to joke about, especially under the circumstances. They were out here to kill monsters, after all. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder and squeezed, then stepped back to unsheathe his greatsword from across his back, doing so slowly and carefully so he didn't inadvertently lop off any dreadlocks. Looking up, he noticed a small group of the metallic bird creatures gathering. "Ready to lay waste to some birds?"

"Too true. How about Legolas instead? He used a sword as well as a bow AND he was a bad a** elf~" She grinned and leaned into him as he squeezed her shoulder, twirling her war hammer as she took it off of her shoulders in order to prepare for the upcoming battle. She turned her head up towards the birds that were now heading for them, grinning. "Mmmmnhummn! I will warn you, though it seems like ever since I sparred with you, I've been missing hits left and right~ Dionysus must be mad at me for kicking your a** earlier~" Mercy leaped forward, swinging her hammer in a manner that knocked one bird into the other, causing a leap of excitement from her. "Hell yeah! Twofer!" Status Mercy's Health: 50 - 5 = 45hp Weapon: War hammer (10 base - 1 hit) Rolled: 6 - 1 = 10 (100% dmg) [ 10 dmg total ] Opponent HP: 60 - 10 = 50

"Nice shot," Rob grinned. "I think Dionysus forgives you." He was still mulling over the 'Legolas' moniker Mercy had dubbed him with. Where she got the idea that he was in any way, shape or form an elf was beyond him, but bad a**? He could take that. "Yeah, alright, you can call me Legolas. Though I don't think I look anything like wossname. The actor. Bloom, Orlando Bloom." With a smirk he added, "For one, I'm better looking." Readying his greatsword, he followed her lead and swung at the birds. He just managed to hit one of them on the wing, hardly enough to do it any harm. The bird he struck screeched and dove at him, flinging feathers at him off its wings. One of the feathers managed to catch him on the cheek, and he yelped. "s**t! Too close to me eye, that was." "Thank you~ I would be calling you Legolas because you do look more like an elf than anything which is quite alright. They are very good looking!" Mercy laughed and shook her head, lifting her hammer above her head so she could throw it at the bird Rob just cut, unable to hold in her laughter, she bent over to hold her sides just as the metal bird went flying into a nearby tree. "Well! Looks like I'll be saving you today Mr. Legolas! Would you like for me to carry you princess style back to the hotel after we are done here?" She did that for Jan recently and boy that was a lot of fun. Even though she was hitting better than he was, Rob laughed. "Nah, I think I'll be able to get back there under me own power." Not that it would be embarrassing to be carried by a cute girl or anything… Maybe it would have been better if he hadn't been laughing. Maybe he'd actually be able to hit the bloody bird. Rearing back, he swung and succeeded in knocking off a couple of feathers of one of the birds. "Damn. You're outdoing me on this one, love." "Awwwe You sure? It would look pretty bad assssssss~" Of course she was joking, She did laugh when Rob only managed to graze some feathers off of the bird he was aiming at. "Well, there are plenty more birds out there to take down, Im sure you'll get a couple~" Mercy twirled and let her hammer fly, wincing at the loud clank that came from hitting the bird in the side of its head. Mercy was having fun, wasn't she, flinging her war hammer at birds and knocking them out of the sky. Rob, on the other hand, was getting a little frustrated with his seeming inability to score a hit on one of the bird things. Taking a deep breath to steady himself, he tightened his grip on his sword and swung at the nearest bird. To his delight, he hit it, though not hard enough to do serious damage to it. Still, he was able to put a hurt on it, metallic feathers and toxic poop flying as the wounded bird squawked in surprise and pain. "Yeah, it'd look pretty bad a** for you," he grinned as the birds regrouped above them. "Of course~" She winked back at him, picking up her hammer so she could swing at another bird, barely dodging the poop that came from the one Rob had hit, wrinkling her nose. "Ugh...How are you going to s**t yourself out of surprise? Stupid bird..." She was glad the one she lost a little bit of its wing rather than fling poo at her. With her luck, she would get some of it caught in her hair and she would be washing it for days... "Snow," Rob said, readying for another attack. "Use some snow to wipe it off. It's fairly toxic s**t, as s**t goes." And s**t was getting serious, at least for the birds -- their numbers were depleting. He was going to make damn sure he pulled his share of this fight. Swinging the greatsword as hard as he could, he swatted one of them completely out of the sky, nearly severing its head from its neck. "Woo!" he whooped with a fist pump. "That's more like it!" Apparently, she was more grossed out than she thought since she swung her hammer and missed, groaning with disappointment. "Realllly?!" turning to Rob, she gave him a small pout. "Looks like you'll be carrying me instead. I just missed so this means Im about to ******** up in 0.5 seconds..." "Aw s**t. Oh well, carrying you won't be too bad." Rob grinned at her. The idea of princess-carrying Mercy didn't bother him at all -- she was slender and cute and it would definitely look bad a** for him to heroically carry her back to the hotel. Emboldened by his previous success, he deftly swung the big sword at another bird, and again he hit it so hard the blade embedded itself in the creature's body, knocking it to the ground and killing it. "Yeah!" That left only one; hopefully Mercy could take it out herself. And if not, there was always the princess carry. Not to be outdone, Mercy frowned then threw her hammer at the last bird, leaping for joy when it made the impact. "YES!!!!!" if she were Chun-li, she'd be leaping like her. However...She walked up to Rob and tilted her head to the side, grinning. "You know...I think I missed that one...Poor me~ Looks like you'll have to carry me princess style back to the hotel" She kicked at the snow like she was actually disappointed. "Well, poop!" He didn't have to carry her if he didn't want to, though. She might be slight but she wasn't a toothpick either. Rob whooped in victory when Mercy dispatched the last bird. "Well done!" He watched her as she approached him, with a sly grin on her face that he matched. "Aw, well, it looks like I may have to carry you. Poor little Mercy, so battered from those nasty birds." Wiping off his greatsword on his coat, he resheathed it as carefully as he had unsheathed it, then scooped the Ares-Chosen up into his arms. "To the hotel then, love?"
