The songstress was not one to easily be made angry, but there was an exception to be had for these birds, these hellish metallic blights. Another window needed to be barricaded, and Rose was all too quick to volunteer to heckle the lone bird that hovered near by. She stormed out into the snow, bow on sheathed and arrow knocked and with determination writ heavy in her brow, she let the arrow fly before the bird even saw her, the tip of it burying into its right muscle wing.

The smile that curved her lips briefly was not entirely friendly, her pace unbroken by the successful hit. She was in no mood to play around or take her time, to learn and toy the ground of her boundaries -- it was all out, now, a miniature war she'd started.

Rose's Stats

Rose's HP: 47 - 5 = 42
Bird's HP: 25 - 6 = 19
Weapon: Balanced Bow (6 Base)

Rather than satisfaction at injuring the beast, Rose's ire at all the damage they'd caused, bubbled in its place. The attacks on her and Cas, the children, the innocents -- on Marisol, on Tom, her colleagues -- the indignant anger was almost sweeping, overwhelming. Two arrows came with her pull, and she scarcely noticed as she let them fly.

"For Marisol and Cas," she spoke like thunder, the arrows sinking into the beast's chest, "you devil. We will send you back to your maker!"

It begged the question - who were their enemies, after all? Her knowledge of the Pantheon was scarce at best, but she was mostly certain that none were inherently evil nor something to call a villain. Where did they come from? Why? And how were they to end it?

Answers she would have to seek as she went. For now, she had to express her agitation through the tips of her arrows.

Rose's Stats

Rose's HP: 42 - 5 = 37
Bird's HP: 19 - 12 = 7
Weapon: Balanced Bow (6 Base)

The bird fell, and then the victory swelled in her. She knew it was premature, but how could Rose resist the sweet taste of victory, given all the hell she and her dear ones had suffered?

The next arrow lodged in the left wing. It was rendered flightless. Not that it was any better a prospect -- those talons and that beak were something to be treated with respect...at as far a distance as possible.

It was flightless, but it wasn't incapable of dolling out harm.

The bird leaped out her in its death throes, having no reason to try and avoid her now, it was trying to deal the most damage. Rose, completely caught unawares, uttered a short cry as she felt back into the snow, the arrow shooting wide and the bow all that was between her and very sharp claws. Her arms shook against the heavy pressure from the angry bird, hearing the creak of her weapon straining against it. This was not how she was going to spend her last moments, beneath the livid scream of a metallic bird hellbent on taking her with it. She had much more to accomplish than this -- !

Rose's Stats

Rose's HP: 32 - 5 = 27
Bird's HP: 1 - 0 = 1

She tried to fire off another arrow, but one of the sharp talons gripped her elbow, making the arrow sink into the side of the building instead. She'd have to be careful - Rose realized she could really hurt someone by mere hubris alone, not including herself. Angry - at the flock, at herself - she wedged a boot up between her and the bird and pushed as hard as she could, straining. After a few heartbeats, the bird's body started to be pushed back, but barely so, the beak diving down to try and close the space again.

Rose swung her elbow around and caught it on the side of the head, hurting herself and the creature, but at least it allowed her to keep her face intact. Her boot found the wounded wing and kicked again, rewarded with an ear splitting screech from so near by.

The bird, enraged and with nothing to lose, screamed at her again. She let the anger have a voice, crying out with the frustration of it all in its face in return, and for a moment -- she thought it might have been stunned. Rose hauled an arrow out of the snow and knocked it in place, aiming straight for the beast's open beak. There was no hesitation as it was let to fly, spearing clean through the bird's head. When the feathered guides of the arrow exited the avian's body, it took the head with it.

The body fell back, fairly decapitated, leaving the songstress breathing heavily in the snow as she sat up. As with most creatures, it seemed to lose its bowels, the snow hissing in protest against the toxic excrement. Rose covered her nose and quickly pushed herself back, and after she was certain she was a safe distance away, she slowly pushed herself to her feet.

It was dead. There was one less devil in the skies.

Rose's Stats

Rose's HP: 22 - 5 = 17
Bird's HP: 1 - 6 = -5
Weapon: Balanced Bow (6 Base)

The body had been fairly damaged in her initial attacks and its fall, certainly not helped by the pressure of her feet and the final blow.

Rose slowly brushed herself off. Winning with some sense of renewed purpose would be her reward.
