Already, Almira hated the sight of those damn things so much. On her way to meet up with her would be allies, Almira had run across a wurm hunting party, and learned first hand why these things such a huge issue for the Mayor. A single wurm was a problem all it's own, being as strong and fast as your average human, brandishing scythed appendages and a ravenous appetite. They don't scare, they don't tire, and they don't stop. In that, Almira and the wurms had common ground. But one single, average wurm would be no problem for the Sin of Gluttony. Rather it would prove her first taste of wurm blood. It tasted of foul meat and expired milk. Her nostril flared open in disgust, but she allowed it to join the bottomless abyss of her stomach regardless. Her spear was now stained by green blood, floating beside her with the creature skewered, wriggling and crying out. A flick of her hand cleaved the wurm soldier deftly, and she watched the twitching of it's body slowly come to a halt. If it had been that easy, she would be very confused as to why she was sent along on this mission as her toes dug into the hot sand below her feet. Of course, nothing was ever THAT easy. Her senses alerted her to a once more beating heart in it's body, to the sound of scales breaking through broken skin. With a confused but interested expression set into her pale features the woman looked upon the wurm, regrowing it's body and fighting back to stand. Below the ground she felt movement, something digging towards her. At the last second she leaped to her spear, bouncing to the side and digging into the wall with her feet to stay within. Narrowly she'd avoided the scythe appendage from another, faster wurm that aimed to decapitate her. Two became four quicker than she could blink and the hunting party all aimed their heads at her. What happened next caught her off guard. Energy blasts freed from their mouths like missiles. She'd seen that before: standard mage spells. Chastiefol snapped between them, taking the shape of a sizeable green bear that swatted away the attacks with little difficulty. Things were getting interesting. Recalling the encyclopedia she had devoured earlier, she remembered the W section entirely, Wurm's of all kinds. These monsters were known to have a hive mind. What was worse was one mutation in a single wurm would translate to all of them. In large groups they could be utterly impossible to take on solo. Still, she was undaunted. The Bear flew forth, crashing into the ground with a booming thud. It swatted wurm after wurm crushing them against rocks and into the sand to no real avail as they regenerated not long after the wounds were inflicted. Her eyes scanned them, noting which of the wurms had what personality. That was a key to finding the one she wanted. A more brave wurm would be the one who was the source of the regeneration. Chastiefol fought them tirelessly as they crawled around his body, clawing and slicing to no avail. One seemed particularly ravenous, going forward in the face of swinging limbs uncaring of harm, even if it took time for it to get back on it's feet. Target acquired. Almira came down on them bathed in a gown of shadows stolen from the wurms and chastiefol. Her fist crashed into the wurm she had chosen, stunning it briefly as well as putting her in range for the shadowy gown to cut the wurm viciously as she reached down and snatched it up from the ground. The other wurms were too late to notice as Almira pulled it apart with a grunt, scattering wurm gore about their vicinity in a spectacular show of power. Her hands dropped the two halfs of the dead mass of flesh before turning to the others, who seemed to grow that much mroe dull but that much more ravenous. A pair of chains were produced from her wrists. She slung them forward on either side of chastiefol, who also swung attacked the slippery devils. She managed to get a hook into a smaller one's shoulder, but the other hook merely crashed into the sand, sending it spraying about the area. With a yank, she pulled the first wurm through the air to her. A straight jab to it's chest managed to sail completely through it's body. Two to go. Chastiefol suddenly morphed back into the shape of a spear and Almira called it to her hand, taking a ready position. The wurms were wary of approach, but their fight or flight was too slow to save them as Almira closed the 30 feet of distance via the chain that had dug into the sand. She tugged herself along and spun, ripping free the weapon to return towards her while aiming to slash through both wurms. Two heads flew into the air, one of which was snagged on the line being tracted to her. Almira whipped it in the last second, sending the fleshy worm-head into the sky. It fell down behind her as Helliot disappeared back into her wrist. The cave was a short journey ahead now, and she had no intention of being delayed any father. The last movement those wurms did was the head crashing back down into the sand.
Not too long after she arrived at the mouth of the cave, imbeded into a naturally occuring plateau of great size in the desert. She eyed the many wardens gathered there. She was given a few surprisingly welcoming looks from the many gladiator like men present. She was mostly apathetic to them all, having tasted enough murder for the week seeing as how this little errand was most due to that. An officer waited closest to the mouth, which is wear Almira was headed anyway. No point in wasting time.
"Wurm's are pests," she stated matter of factly. The Warden nodded. "Aye. Lost two men today. Scouting party got ravaged by a hunting party of wurms. Caught the by-""Letting one soldier attack first, then swarming up from the ground. Tried it on me. They weren't so lucky." Almira cut in. He nodded, looking her over as if unsure how such a small girl could have killed four wurms that took down two wardens. She didn't even flinch under his gaze: she knew what he was looking at as she saw his expression change through the corner of her eyes. He'd seen her brand, the almost taunting skull that almost looked like it was sizing up anyone who looked upon it. Deciding if they were a worthy meal. Almira tapped her chin patiently, and he eventually looked ahead. "They call me Grunt. Don't ask. Are mission, as you know, is to root them out. That means killing a queen. In her nest. We know from reports of activity that there is at least one Titan here too, so be wary." Almira looked on their forces. About 20 wardens, plus her. "Seems like a small contingent of wurm hunters. If you weren't born warriors I'd almost be worried," she mused smiling at him somewhat knowingly. He grunted right before calling the men and women with a whistle. "Well, till the mission is over, you're one of us so try to keep your sights on them. Watch our back and we watch yours," he ordered drawing a gladius from his side and allowing a golden tattoo to shine over his right chest muscle. The mark of Solaris? Interesting. The pair formed the head of the group, and the rest followed in a loose formation behind them with the back most men keeling their eyes and ears open towards the entrance of the dark cave. Thankfully, she thrived in the dark, feeling the negative effects of the sunlight release her body. What she was less thankful for was the presence of her would be allies. It might well be a difficult battle ahead, and having teammates should be a boon, but instead for her this was simply going to be a hassle ensuring she didn't hinder them too much. Her hands found her hips, just above where her skirt began to frill out, her mind figuring out how she would be helpful aside from an early warning system. Grunt tossed a ball of lightning ahead, illuminating their path ahead. five minutes in... nothing. "At least if they try to fight us now they'll be just as blind," he offered to those who could hear in the widening walls. Almira looked around, able to see tracks in the ground and walls as if something had dug this cavern out. "The wurms opened this cave up on their own. Competition elsewhere in Amaranthine must have been too much for this queen. Recently moved in here with a small brood," she said knowing that Wurm territory war could be brutal for the creatures. "We're getting close. I can hear the cave widening even more by the echoes," a cryptic tone followed. Grunt looked on her. "Echoes?"
Not too far ahead bio-luminescence could be seen. The closer they got the brighter the trail. Almira gripped Chastiefol, which put the wardens on edge. A screech in the distance was telling. Another rang out. "Sounds like they hear us too," grunt said as electicity trailed from his mark and he flipped his gladius into a shield and spear. Almira moved to his side as they edged forward. Tremors only she picked up made her stop, made everyone stop. A single wurm soldier sprung forward in the dark. Lightning struck it, frying the body of the soldier. Almira was unmoved until the glowing lights lit up all around. Some sort of magic so that they could see, but gave Almira and her team sight as well. A swarm of soldiers rushed them, digging from the walls at all angles. The Wardens let out a hail of warcries, inciting Almira to do the same. Bolts of liquid-lightning flung free, shadows snapped and crashed into insectoids. Just the soldiers were no match for them, even in their numbers. Grunt was a formiddable warrior boasting that mark, turning him into a one man army of gladiatorial combat. Almira was with him, however, using helliot and Chastiefol to creatively tear down wurms and steal their energy. Her monstrous strength was a boon too, crushing bodies with simple punches, with basic kicks. She took a wurm by the tail and pulled it off it's feat, slinging it from one end of the tunnel into the other and crushing it against the wall. The fireworks went for a bit longer than the group was expecting, but it mattered not. They fought deeper into the cave, eventually thinning out the wurm soldiers so much that they turned tail. Helliot's hook pulled back what it could, a sure death sentence as grunt made a game of cleaving them as they came close with his transforming weapon and the power of his mark, but still soon there was nothing left of the vanguard. Heavy breathing didnt stop the warrior wurm hunters as they pushed into the main cavern. What they saw was truly terrifying a sight.
The Wurm queen seemed agitated by their presence in the nest already, she screeched down below, a 4 story drop into a lair filthy with wurms of so many different types. Going into that fight would be suicidal, and that wurm queen was huge. Whatever had pushed her out of her territory... no that was of no consequence. Almira and Grunt sized up her swarm. Three or four times the number they had just fought, and these weren't only soldiers. "Seems like they have a full brood indeed. Regenerators, Mind wurms, I spy acid and toxic wurms... this is going to be very hard. How many mages we got, Grunt?" Almira asked him. "Handful, maybe three or four. Sorcerers, mostly. Got a pretty impressive Enchanter, too," he told her.
Almira rubbed her chin, her eyes scanning the cave walls, what she could see of the ground. "Might be able to set up artillery fromt he sides. Wurm's cant fly," she added. "Aye, I was thinking similarly. Might be in harm's way from the spitters still. Acid and blinding poisons," Almira nodded, turning to their forces, wounds arleady licked, weapons at the ready. Mages heard what was said, came forward, looking high to the ceiling of the nest. Another four stories up. The Enchanter had a different idea than the others. He would come down with them, use the cave to their aid. Almira stood and drew her spear from her back once more. "Ok, first thing first, keep mobile. They can't kill what they can't hit. First and last step to ending the nest is to cull that queen, but her horde would sooner die than let her be harmed. Literally. So I say we oblidge them. mages to the sky, everyone else form up on me and Almira till we get her to the ground. Once she's down there, watch your shots. She's our ally, our sister in the pitts until I say otherwise. Watch her back but keep in mind who she is. She doesn't need you holding her hand, in fact it'll be better if you don't even try. Give her space," he said. Almira was glad he understood. The wardens looked to her, now all approvingly. She'd proven her fight was a good one, and she didn't seem to be a danger. "Now now, I'm nothing special. Just a hungry vampire is all," an amused Almira offered to him.
The mages took to the air, prepping powerful energy rays that shined enough gather the attention of the wurms. Immediately a hail of acid and toxic bile sprayed upwards when the first Wyrm took notice. "Go! Now!" Grunt commanded leaping in. Almira followed, though she was wary of all the liquid flying up, and the energy firing down around her. They're ******** with me. Did we dive head first into an acid bath? she thought though the thrill activated some kind of primal urge to kill in the sin. She twirlled once in the air, bathing herself in darkness before she crashed into the ground alone. The other wardens stayed in the air, avoiding the retaliation they were facing. For a moment she as not visible, completely invisible in the blackness swarming the horde like bats. Her form became evident in a blur of motion, stabbing into the skull of one before she was gone in the darkness. Grunt landed bravely, dashing into the horde with a flash of liquid lightning that washed over and destroyed the nearest wurm. Almira congressed once more, slashing in a huge crescent around herself and grunt to clear some spave before puffing out of sight once more. Her body had no form in the shadow she had created and she could feel every wurm that rushed into it. She assassinated them one by one, group by group. The warden mages fired their rays haphazardly, almost as if in a show. She managed not to get hit, clearing the shadows around easy targets they could vaporize while grunt used the power of his mark to smash wurms aside or cleave them in ways they could not easily regenerate. Helliot flew freely from the shadow suddenly, latching onto the body of the queen and digging deep. A second hook flew forth like a hawk and dug even deeper. The cry of pain was loud as Almira could be seen as an upper body first, slowly coalescing towards towards the ground. Her strength was great as she feasted on the Queen's energy, massive as it was. She held fast, pulling at her target digging in her feet. A warden flew towards her, aiming to help but the Queen turned and spat a toxic bile from it's gullet that hit his face head on, pulling free a cry from his throat before he was swatted to the side like a fly. Almira winced a bit, but the distraction let her yank the queen from her "throne" on the lonely pillar in the cave. She fell to the ground, and immediately her horde gathered, aiming to protect her at all costs. Grunt gave a war cry as his wardens gathered, surrounding the significantly smaller horde. Almira puleld against the Queen's strength, grunting as the Queen pulled away. Attacks flew her way, but the mage, the enchanter, defended her with his ability to bring the very cave to life. The Wardens spring into action as roots and vines grew to block acid and protect against the bile. Grunt dove forth head first into the horde weilding his gladius only, inspring the others to go as well and carve the wurms down. They were so busy trying to defend their queen from Almira and remove the hooks (which was an uphill battle as it sapped their energy,) that they didn't have a large enough force to defend her from the Wardens. The hooks broke, but by the time they did Almira had drained so much energy that she was far weaker. Her attacks were slow and her brood was weakening. Almira joined the final push with the enchanter and his tree roots.
In the end, the queen was no more and the Wardens had suffered no casualties besides perhaps the one soldier who had lost his sight due to that bile attack. Grunt lifted him up as Almira looked over the many wurm corpses. Bloodlust had subsided but something far worse had taken it's place as her eyes darkened and black lines traced into her face. Fangs bared, nostrils flared, but hse did not hiss. Rather she stopped Grunt, who was approaching her with his wounded friend. Her neck, right along the tattoo's outline, burned fervently. "Go. Take your men back to Seldar. I will follow soon," she almost commanded. Grunt didn't defy her. "We'll keep the pace light so you can catch up. Handle business here fast, get in order and fall back in line," he said so she could hear. She waited until she couldn't hear them before letting out a guttural snarl and descending upon the very fresh meat.
She managed to catch up to the group within about half an hour, bearing no signs that she had gorged herself, and as soon as she was among them they picked up the pace, their heading Seldar City to receive their payment.

"" Before her, the red Hellgate would take shape, yielding two humanoid shapes. From their perception, she'd be perched on the top of a cliff, aiming down into what would simply appear to be a tremendous hole in the ground, easily spanning a quarter mile in width. The rifle she wielded was large and imposing; likely something Nai was used to, given her credit as an assassin. Amias himself made no major impression from her being there; she'd been there since he left to meet Nai, carefully observing the entrance to the Wurm's den. "I'm back. Has there been any movement from the queen so far?" She'd been so focused with watching through the scope, that Aurelia hadn't even bothered to turn around. After all, there was only one mortal currently living on Axiom that had the power to open hellgates; indeed, Amias' ability was peculiar as it always seemed to be. "Oh, and it seems I forgot to introduce you. Silly me." As though to poke fun at Nai, Amias' expression immediately deadened, and his body stiffed to a fault. He would open his mouth and speak, in the most monotone way he could, "Nai. Assassin. Rested." Flashing her a cheeky grin, Amias would then walk closer to the side of the cliff, stroking his chin, and thinking deeply as he looked to the gigantic hole. "See, Nai...this is an entrance to the Wurm's den. We're here today to scout it out, see if we can recognize any potential weaknesses...you know, the usual things for people of your trade." That wasn't so much a dig as it was a statement of opportunity. Potentially, Nai's qualifications as an assassin would enable her to get closer to the Wurms than either of the other two.
"I suppose I should specify, though; a crater this big is actually a huge find for us. When they're this large, it means the Wurm Queen herself has come to the surface recently, as her children haven't yet been able to cover the opening with debris to hide her ascent. This means that the Wurm Queen is active at the moment, and it may yet be possible to catch her on the surface, where she's least able to defend herself. A golden opportunity to end this conflict swiftly and smoothly."

• The Sight Just like their counterpart (the Nephilim) the Diabolos can read the auras about them and see things for what they are. This allows them to pinpoint an opponent's energy level(rank), along with the ability to naturally see energy.
• Electromagnetic Manipulation Even without expending energy, the Diabolos can manipulate electromagnetic fields. This allows them to levitate their own weapons and manipulate them with great speed, power and precision. Furthermore, they may sense metal and disturbances in electromagnetic fields; for example, if there is a destructive event happening even across the world, they will know it is ongoing, just not who or what is involved. They can sense earthquakes and other such things, to name a few events that would trigger this sense.
You may also compress this magnetic field within simply a large area around you; this allows you to perceive movements around you.
• Pain Inversion This is a strength and a weakness. Pain Inversion allows for a Diabolos' abilities to be stronger based on their physical health. This does not increase ability rank, but rather size, speed and precision. At full condition, you will be able to manipulate larger masses and fling them at enemies as if ballistic homing missiles. When near death, you will need great concentration to do that same thing and will be able to manipulate significantly less at once.
A hole and a woman. Those were the two details Nai noticed first upon her exit through the hell gate. Assuming that the woman was the aforementioned Aurelia, she eyed the more unknown subject: the hole. It was large and clearly unnatural. Nai's first thought was that it looked like some the kind of burrow a creature of gargantuan size would make. Some sort of "queen" appeared to be the culprit, according to Amias's query to the sentry. In the same way reloading a gun is a near unconscious act for a gunslinger, Nai's mind effortlessly reached out for the information she knew to connect the dots. It was swift, but to the recently changed Sin, it felt too slow. She could not find the answer in that short instant it took for Amias to switch from queens to introductions.
For the previous Sloth that once inhabited her, the answer would have come instantly with his unnaturally efficient manner of getting things done. Nai was not at that level, at least not yet, and on top of that, the information her mind reached for--Essfraxon, Amaranthine, queens, the local monster codex--was as unfamiliar to her as was Sloth's absence. She felt a dissatisfied emotion before it was replaced by the filing away of this change in information processing.
Meanwhile, Amias's one-sided banter demanded Nai's attention. Nai may have been partly socially inept and mostly socially unwilling, but that jest was too obvious for even someone like her to pretend to miss. It had all the characteristics of a joke that Nai recognized, save that the smile at the end was less a mocking sneer and more an amused tease.
Joke or not and friendly or derisive, as with any of Nai's reactions, her response to Amias's mimicry was minimal to a fault. A mere turn of the eyes just in time to catch his grin and then a less than amused turn back to the more important matters. Although, Amias shortly reentered her vision when he stepped up to the hole to begin discussing their mission. She couldn't even be bothered to tell Amias how the last part was completely unnecessary if his aim was to mimic her for fun, as she had only said it earlier to let him know she was ready to go. Although, the silence she defaulted to was probably in her favor as it would have revealed just how little she actually understood about jokes.
After Amias's introduction, Nai finally figured out what the hole was for, or rather, Amias went and explained it all. The wurm queen would be the target, likely in preparation for a raid to dispatch her. Weak points were mentioned as an objective. Although, for Nai, she would need more than just weak points. The wurms of Amaranthine and their queen were famed, but on the mainland, they were talked about in an almost legendary way. After all, this was a beast of tremendous power in a land of danger so great and shrouded in such mystery that even a good map of it was hard to find. Nai had heard many things about wurms and queens, but what held true and what held false from the many tales was not something she could determine. In short, she knew close to nothing for certain about these opponents.
Nai walked to the hole, brushing past Amias to stand at the very edge of the chasm. One foot peeked out over the edge and her body leaned forward to look straight into the abyss. she verified that the bottom was far too deep to see. Sadly, she was neither tracker nor expert of beasts. Staring into the passage of the queen gave her little useful information. To ask, as troublesome as it was to speak, would be the easiest way to learn. Caring more for saying only what was necessary than the impression she gave to others, Nai queried, "Wurm Queen?" as if she was someone completely ignorant of one of the strongest monsters to roam Axiom.
As Nai asked, she turned around to observe Aurelia, even going so far as to give her a slight nod in greeting. Such a motion was expected, right? Her body did not move from its precarious perch on the edge but her eyes darted in a practiced motion across the gunslinger's body, taking the fewest movements to determine everything she'd expect to know from just looking. Aurelia wore familiar equipment. Of course, Nai had never seen any of those exact pieces before, but it didn't feel like all that long ago when she would be closely examining and picking similar pieces of armor and weapons. As a former gunslinger, it wasn't hard for Nai to tell that Aurelia was either a marksman or a siege master just from seeing what the latter wore. Nai wondered how this slinger chose to fight and as there was no second sentience to quell the partially unnecessary question, she went ahead and asked, "Aim? Range? Area?". Acknowledging that her two questions could be mixed up, Nai went and raised a finger gun to Aurelia while she was at it, hopefully making her intentions clearer.

Aurelia did not flinch at the opening of the Hell Gate. Something of that sort of planely interference in magnetic shift could be few things. From the perch she had chosen for herself, she had a clear view into the massive hole. She'd moved about the area few times, getting different views, even approaching at one point to get a better view and levitating down a few dozen meters. When she felt something close in her magentic field, her body was right back to the top in seconds. Some wurms had been near the surface, a few came out on what could be described as patrols. Aurelia didn't kill them for fear of kicking a hornet's nest. Not yet anyway. Aurelia ignored Amias at first, largely because his opening statement was something she could see, and also to give him mental space to remember he'd brought someone famous alongside him. The Black Baroness, rising from her kneeling position, spoke plainly to Nai. "A fellow godslayer," she regarded with respect, but then looked to her kinsman. "Two was already a crowd, when it comes to our kind mon Ami-as," she teased hovering slowly down from her perch to stand beside them, leaving the rifle behind her. The mocking had went clear over her head, but not the assertion it made. Nai was of a rare breed. No one quite knew WHAT she was, besides the sin of Sloth and extremely odd that is. Aurelia stood beside her at the edge, resting on her heels, arms on her metal kneepads. "A long time ago the wurms were some nasty monsters scattered out across the world and little more than a pest. Then Makassar let the wurm queen loose, or so the story goes. Fenrir's reign here was cut short by the wurms that now claim the entire desert. The Queen we are here to kill is something of a pet to Makassar, and the largest. It's said that this one is the queen from which queens come. This hole... well it's probably just about as big as it's head."
She rubbed her chin, thinking on just how they could go about killing it. A big bomb? Lots of incendiary grenades? All viable. Maybe an electromagnetic blast big enough between her and Amias could do it. Wait... on that note. "Amias. Where is Omnath? Shouldn't he be on this little excursion with us?" At the mention of the dragon, she would stand tall again, just a tad bit excited. Of the monsters and men she'd seen, Omnath was one of the most interesting for sure. That, and she just really liked dragons. She took note that Nai was observing her, Aurelia turned to face her, waiting for the inbound question. Then she got the joke, looking at Amias with a popped eyebrow and a smile before turning her eyes, golden and shining behind black shades. "Well, suffice it to say when everyone else was struggling to hit Elessia, I didn't miss. As for range and area... I've made craters bigger than this by flicking my wrist. Sieging is something of a specialty of mine." With that Aurelia would point a finger gun, shoot it, then make a motion like an explosion, complete with fluttering fingers raining down like shrapnel around her. "So whats the plan, old man?" she posed.

Stats: 7/13 6075/6075 Bullets: 1320 Abilities/Weapons: Adjustment Passive Requires Glancing This is a skill that will come depending on your target. The more you miss while using this the more accurate you are in the next shot, you are adjusting yourself to your opponent's dodges. This is if you can still see them and if you miss. If they block your attack or get hit by it the effect of adjustment wont take place. There is however a side effect, since you are focused on shooting at them you are not quite capable of dodging. Adjustment is a solo skill it cannot be used in conjunction with other skills except for reloading skills until Expert rank. It must reset when you stop shooting, so you have to constantly lay a reign of fire on a target for it to stack over posts. By the third post, them dodging alone wouldn't be good enough if you don't lose your lock on them.
The Sight Just like their counterpart (the Nephilim) the Diabolos can read the auras about them and see things for what they are.
• Zenith Passive It's a common saying that anything is a weapon in the hands of a master, this concept is made real by the Weapon Master as they naturally coat any and all weapons they wield with energy. This results in two things, the weapons are made stronger by a rank, and they can strike things they normally shouldn't be able to, such as Shades. This stacks with other damage bonuses. Total weapon damage stacking cannot go past +3 ranks.
Sight Lock Passive This skill is necessary for any and all gunslingers to keep in mind, letting them gain a mental lock-on on the foe. So long as the foe is in any form of view, without anything to obstruct the view, such as a smoke screen or any visual type of illusions. Another bonus is that the Gunslinger can utilize the reflections of anything to find their opponent. The gunslinger can even quick draw with their gun, in a blink of an eye, they can shoot a target in their sight, meaning the opponent has to see and react to the draw of the gun or the moment upon firing.
"" Her asking about Omnath didn't go unanswered. Though the status of his dragon wasn't really any of her business, he humored her with a response regardless to preserve the situation. "Omnath is currently in something of a foul mood. For fear of him escalating the situation, I've opted to let him be around the dragons of Val'Ghast for a while to relax his nerves. This was his home once, after all." Looking back in the direction of Val'Ghast...the man wondered if not bringing him along was truly the right choice. Would they be punished for it later? "As for the plan, we'll be starting to get closer to the hole. Between us, our abilities in combat should be more than enough to handle the weaker wurms the queen would send to the surface. I find it highly unlikely that she'd send any stronger soldiers unless her pawns were dying." Hopefully, the pair would start to see what he was saying. If you cut off a Giant's toe, he's likely to try and kick you away. If kicking doesn't work, he'll begin to stomp.
But what if you cut off his leg? "What we're doing at this point is evaluating the Wurms' ability to react to the deaths of their fellows, as well as the Wurm Queen's willingness to dispatch higher quality soldiers. In a roundabout way, we'll be surviving in combat long enough to see just how powerful of soldiers she's willing to send all the way to the surface. I've been in those caverns before, but we know that these creatures are capable of evolving. It's been well over two hundred years since I last entered a wurm den, so they've likely evolved quite a bit. To put it flatly, we're conducting a combat assessment on the wurms, and identifying structural weaknesses in their tunnels to exploit for later." But to find a weakness in those tunnels would be far more easily said than done. When the acid that slowly leaked from their bodies came into contact with the walls of the tunnels, the materials combined into a substance with an incredible level of resistance. "The Wurm's poison interacts with the walls of their tunnels in an...interesting way. It creates a very durable, defensible substance that makes digging into a tunnel extremely time-consuming. This is how they've defended their inner caverns for so long without being attacked; an extreme, all-around defense. With our levels of strength, we should be able to break these walls, but I doubt it will be easy. From this point on, proceed with caution." And with that, Amias would begin the descent from their perch, heading closer to the hole on foot, initially. His wings were spread in full splendor, ready to quickly take flight should anything happen. Even as they moved to the crevice, stirring flesh could be seen within the darkness; the wurms were already preparing for their guests.

An unreadable grimace flickered over Nai's face at the mention of Fenrir, snapped to confusion, and then returned immediately to the lazy neutrality that usually rested on Nai's face. The name brought upon emotions she had never dealt with. They were memories of such strength that they even managed to bring rise to yet another emotion: confusion. However, with confusion came unfamiliarity, and with unfamiliarity came a swift return to familiarity. She did not want to deal with that particular darkness from her past.
Besides, beneath Nai's feet, another darkness crawled. Between Aurelia, Amias, and the lore that managed to seep to civilization, Nai had a good idea of the dangers presented by that darkness. Additionally, on her other side, a demon in his own right approached to descend into the depths underground. Unlike Aurelia, Amias did not make it clear what he could do, but there was mention of a dragon and he moved to the front with the confidence and muscles of someone that was used to delivering a physical beat-down. He would do fine in the front, which seemed like just the spot he wanted.
Aurelia boasted impeccable aim combined with impressive range and a similarly large area of effect with her attacks. It appeared that, between the two newly coined types, she was of the siege master variety. She even described herself as such. Nai automatically thought that she would prefer to be in the back of their small group.
That left Nai in the middle. She took the spot without a word, following Amias into the cave about five paces back. Her movements fell into silence. The sound of her weapons shifting into a ready position would only be heard by the keenest and her footsteps were even quieter. She felt at home in these dark shadows, but she did not doubt that they did nothing to shield her from the senses of the beasts that truly called the dark their home.
So Omnath was off being a lil b***h instead of helping? That was cute enough that the Black one scoffed a little to herself. If and when a monster came along that was worth taming, she'd be sure to keep it's attitude in check. Omnath was strong, like any dragon was, but Aurelia was skeptical of Amias simply allowing the monster to be absent.
Either way, she shrugged at his answer and looked again towards the crevice as Amias spoke. A combat assessment would prove to be fun. On one hand, a large contingent of wurms would prove great target practice, and a wonderful oppurtunity to put her newly acquired skills to the test. To spread her wings, if you would. Amias's own wings, black and corrupted just like her own, brought a bit of a smrik from her as she watched him move ahead. He descended quickly, and Nai moved, quiet and precise in all her steps, behind him. A green flash of light illuminated the area in a blink, and if one would look, they would see a air of large wings curling inward around Almira protectively. They were as dark as Almira's left shoulder tattoo, glowing with it's white counterpart through her clothes ever so faintly. As if someone painted a magnetosphere into her face, neck and what of her stomach and thighs were visible, golden lines brimming with energy flexed and flowed about her skin. Aurelia followed the group from a bit farther back than Nai was behind Amias, with Elessias wings fluttering a bit behind her, stretching themselves out. Keen eyes saw the movement ahead of them, and with her limited knowledge of wurms, Aurelia decided a scorched earth response was in order. From the HMO, her personal pocket dimension, she removed a personal tool of destruction called Amara: a grenade launcher filled with ten grenades already. In a quick motion, the drum-like magazine rotated fully out and all ten grenades sailed over the heads of Amias and Nai, brimming with power. Normally, ten grenades flying into a cave would be dangerous, but with the wurms reinforcing the structure, she had no worries in mind at all.
Her ability, not one unfamiliar to Amias, kept the grenades flying farther and faster than the weapon's usual range, and once the projectiles were far enoguh, a button press set off the ten grenades, loud and heavily exploding all at once and sending a hail of liquid fire all over area deep inside the cavern that the grenades had been sent.
A glance at Almira would see her smiling, golden eyes bright behind her glasses and green electricity arcing between her wings.

"" Despite her efforts, Aurelia's grenades seemed to have not provoked a response from the Wurms. Instead, they continued their odd, synchronized shuffling about further into the hole; it was perfectly clear that they had a defensible territory already prepared. To advance further would impose quite the disadvantage on the scouting party. Indeed, she'd gotten the strange, plasma-like fluid onto some of the wurms. However, what they did in response was akin to ritualistic suicide; those affected monsters advanced up the tunnel, along the walls and ceiling, taking as much of that strange, viscous liquid in as they could. From there, the wurms dug themselves small tunnels in the sides of this larger crevice, where their lives would inevitably end. From this, the party could also infer that the wurms they were seeing now were especially...expendable. They must have borne little significance to the queen if she were willing to be parted with them in such a way.
Amias' right arm would raise, with his sword-spear aimed pointedly at the clusters of wurms in the distance. "Well, we tried knocking. I hope they're not too upset when we let ourselves in; we did start this off politely, after all." A strange energy would begin to flow within Amias' body, stemming from his right shoulderblade. The mark of West was supplying him with power, granting his weapon the sought-after attribute of lightning. From the tip of his spear, a vicious torrent of lightning would erupt. This lightning--infused with the strange properties of his demonic electromagnetic manipulation--had become a storm of lightning much more powerful than what was seen out of even natural lightning. This rippling, crashing, roaring wave of lightning would soar out, fanning out to cover a small portion of the cave before them. As soon as it reached the first Wurm, however, a motion from Amias would cause this massive wave to fan out, spreading from monster to monster at an unreal pace. This did, however, dilute the effectiveness of the skill; had he used it on two or three, he probably would have killed them outright. But they weren't here solely on an extermination run. The purpose of this venture was to test the queen's abilities in combat, and fighting two or three at a time simply wouldn't do.
At the wider-scale provocation, the party had finally gotten what they wanted; no less than ten minion-level wurms were headed their way, using their ability to move along the ceilings and walls of the cave to their advantage by moving in a very spread out pattern. "Looking forward to some target practice, Aurelia?" No sooner than he'd spoken, their opponents would spit a total of three spheres of acid each, leaving them with a volley of thirty acid spheres falling towards them, each about four feet in diameter. How would they respond?

Aurelia's shots rocked the tunnel and Amias's lightning created a rave. The battle had begun, and with it, the metaphorical clock of Nai's sin began ticking. The knock knock joke, so to speak, was lost on Nai and she mentally filed away, as possibilities for Amias and Aurelia, more so for the former than the latter. At the moment, there wasn't much she felt inclined to do besides watch and wait. She didn't quite have the drive to launch a flashy attack like Aurelia had, even if it was just to test the structural integrity and reactions of the monsters, both of which had already been checked. Likewise, she wasn't much inclined to lead, which Amias was already doing quite well.
Besides, these two, with their god-given powers (or so it appeared), were doing plenty well by themselves. At the moment, she didn't feel like she had anything to add. With the offense they pulled off, certainly defending against a barrage of 30, 4 feet wide acid spheres was well within their grasp. Nai did recognize some sort of social obligation to act. She wasn't brought along to simply stand by and watch after all. {X}, she probed for her usual defense in situations like these and felt no response. It wasn't that she helpless without X, but admittedly, without him, there was no way she could possibly defend the entire group from the barrage. Immediately, she went and figured someone else would deal with that problem.
She couldn't defend worth anything. None of the wurms were close enough for her to deal any significant damage to. The question was did Nai think she could survive long enough if she were to rush straight into the fray without any knowledge on the wurm's weak points?
She decided that she could. Better to risk her life now when no one was really surrounded than later when everyone might be desperately surrounded.
Nai ran forwards as she amassed implosive energy into five shuriken that one hand had procured from some dark corner of her outfit, dodging a good majority of the acid balls simply by not being in the target location. The rest, the ones that were shot at ground level, required more effort. Four foot was too much for just some fancy footwork at the speed Nai was approaching them. She flashed, the rank B assassin skill, to weave between the balls of acid, suffering through a few splatters for her rush even with her expertise as a weapon master. After breaking free of the acid barrage, Nai quickly dispatched the projectile weapons, aiming them at nothing in particular. She hoped most would hit the ground, but she wasn't going to be picky about it when the wurms were nearly on top of her. Immediately after setting the ticking time bomb, Nai melded into the shadows using yet another assassin skill. She would see right now if the wurms natural adaptations to a life in the dark could see through even her energy tricks, and in a little bit, she would see just how tough they were as well. • Implosion StarB The user focuses a great amount of energy into one shuriken. One post after a shuriken with this technique is in effect is thrown, the technique activates. An area with a radius of five feet is dragged inwards, potentially crushing anything inside of it. This can crush iron and flesh, but steel resists it well.
• FlashingB This is one of the more direct attacks of the ninja. By running at the target in zigzags you disappear and reappear four times before you appear a final time for your attack. The final appearance can be used in conjunction with Vanishing slash to make sure you can try again. This skill makes you hard to target, especially for skills like adjustment and similar passives abilities.
• Shadow MeldD The assassin class also has this skill though they use it differently. Using a focus of energy you distort a shadow to actually fuse with a you (not your own). This shadow must be quite dark for it to be effective. Once fused with a shadow you are nigh invisible. Can be used at night almost anywhere, even in plain view. In no way is the shadow a shield you can still be attacked by a slash though you are almost unseen.

The firey burst was what aurelia wanted, and it mostly did it's job. A significant number of the wurms had collected the burning plasma and burrowed themselves, taking most of the incendiary plasma with them to the grave. Experience had taught her already that wurms were hardy and difficult to kill in groups, especially because they grasped the whole "needs of the hive" mentality so literally as to kill themsleves. Still, Aurelia was not above launching hundreds of explosives down that hole if need be. In fact, she started to summon her rocket launcher when her kin drew his spear, shocking a few of the wurms to bring out more. She scoffed at him as he offered her target practice. As if she needed practice, but his challenge, or so it was taken, would be heeded. Instead of something crude like a rocket launcher, she freed Marcus, her compound bow, from the HMO. Before they even could raise the bile in their throats, Aurelia freed three arrows from the bow quickly, one sailing directly past Amias's ear. These bolts were sheathed in electro magnetic energy, and with her control it was simple to accelerate them even faster than usual. To say it would be like a truck hitting the three wurms would be an understate of grand proportions. She followed this up by taking wing as the barrage of acid came at them. She flung a barrage of her own, metallic feathers from her wings she specifically sent to counteract the acid for herself and Amias, as well as clearing him a line to approach the wurms by shouldering the burden of counteracting their long range attack with her won. The feathers seemed to replenish themselves as they were launched with each quick direct wingbeat, also sending her weaving through the air like a dragonfly. "I can do this all day," she said aloud, though msotly to Amias.
A bunch of metallic wings, attuned magnetically to the field of Amias, would be a hint to the man that the feathers not being destroyed by acid were useful, and the Black Baroness, haughty as she was, fully assumed he wouldn't need her direction to know this. The moment they dug into the floor, or the walls, she would actively put them in his realm of control polarity wise. Such a feat would be easy for her, micromanaging different magnetic fields with her level of power and control, her genemod and the power she had from stealing marks from the gods. She, after her small soul-searching, had elevated to a level above most of her kind, and with just a bit more power amassed, she would join the ranks of true demons... This was a welcome step, claiming the head of the wurm queen and taking her brain as a prize, though that much had been kept to herself. For now, the feathers of her wings would be enough, just a few dozen.
Wait... where the hell had Nai gone?

"" Amias was pleasantly surprised at his lack of really having to do anything. Nai's shuriken--with the couple of wurms in its proximity--would find with its implosive effect that the wurms next to it seemed unharmed on the outside. However, the fact that their corpses still rolled down the slant of the hole gave the party a different idea. Though the shell was strong, the inside was still just flesh like anything else.
As for Aurelia, she would find to her amusement that her feathers were charged with Amias' energy just moments after she'd bequeathed them to him. Of course, he did have a plan for them...though it would have to wait just a little bit longer. "Well, I do think we've had quite enough playing around. Omnath, it's time to start taking this seriously." From behind them, a great rumbling would begin as the walls around them started to very quickly be converted into metal. From there, Amias' dragon of metal--Omnath--would reveal himself. With a mighty leap, the demon ascended, landing on the back of his partner to take flight. It was here that their combination attack would most importantly take advantage of the feathers. Taking in a deep breath, the metal dragon's scales would start to glow a brilliant, orange hue like smelting metal. Throwing his palms forward, Amias let out a potent pulse of electromagnetic energy, attuning himself to the now tremendously converted portion of the cave. With Omnath's use of energy, the cave had been converted to metal so far down that they could no longer even see where the previous material began. This would likely alert the Wurm Queen herself that something was truly awry.
What came next would prove to be catastrophic for the wurms. Using the feathers as focus points, Amias would extend his palms outward, focusing his efforts now on what was about to erupt from his dragon's gaping maw. And without delay, a viciously powerful stream of molten metal rocketed forth in a potent beam, before splitting in the directions of Aurelia's feathers, like homing beacons. In order to guide them properly, Amias then shifted the position of the feathers until the beams themselves had been guided in a straight path down the hole, creating lines of molten metal along their trajectories on the walls and ceiling. With The Sight, he was able to easily perceive Nai's location, and directed the beams away from her as a result.
The wurms...oh dear, the wurms. Those with the misfortune of being hit head on with the Breath of the Forge had been cleanly incinerated. Some with only half a body left, others missing a head. No matter what the case...wherever part of their body laid within the travel path of the beams was gone. But this attack wasn't over. As though some sort of energy-based reaction, the molten metal lines left from the beams would begin to glow ever brighter, increasing until they reached a pure, blinding white hue. At this point, the sound of deafening explosions would rock the cavern as the lines exploded outward, scattering more of the molten, metallic substance everywhere, as well as heavily damaging and potentially coating any wurms around the lines with more of the metal.
Just when all seemed lost for this crowd, the substance exploded once again, claiming the lives of most of the wurms that had dared venture this far up the cave to combat their adversaries. Hopefully, this would serve as enough of a message to the wurm queen; what she deemed 'disposable' wasn't enough for this group. She'd need to put more into it to repel her attackers.

Well, she (that is, Nai) tried. Before she could really do anything, even something as simple as tell if the wurms could sense her while she hid, the attacks of the other two met and exceeded what she had expected of them. Aurelia defended and cleared the path of the wurm's attacks. Amias's follow-up completely decimated the vanguard.
Nai just stood there as the wurms caught in the beams were beheaded, be-limbed, be-half-their-bodied, etc. She had learned two things in her trip: the wurms had exteriors that were at least as tough as steel but softer interiors that weren't harder than iron and Amias could probably see her even when she tried to hide. Implosion stars worked on wurms, but they were an expensive skill for Nai in terms of energy costs. She wasn't all too sure if a simple strike would be enough to break the wurms' shells if even implosion star couldn't, and if she couldn't break through the hardy exterior, then she would need to go out on a limb to deal any sort of damage to the creatures.
Then next step for Nai would have been to find weak points. However, she didn't have the time for that. She had noticed that the beams were growing whiter, and intuition told her that didn't mean anything good for those near the beams, like her and the wurms. It was probably explosions. Explosions were a common side effect. The best decision appeared to be to fall back. Besides, from the looks of it, she was probably just a hindrance up in the front lines like this.
Still hidden, Nai traced back her steps. She took shelter in a convenient pile-up of wurms that had been drawn together by the force of her implosion stars for the first blast. From within, she could see the glowing magma burn brightly through the shell of the wurms. A bit more time and they would drip right into her shelter. She wouldn't be able to stay here for a second round, but she didn't plan to. Within the pile-up of carcasses, Nai also scanned for pinpoints of light, which there was now plenty of in the cavern. If there were any that peeked through the shell, they were very likely weak points in the wurms' armors: eye holes, mouth holes, chinks in the armor, whatever they were Nai didn't care too much.
After the magma settled from the first round of explosions and Nai had seen that the beams were still there and still likely to explode, she left the temporary shelter and reappeared between the two A's just in time for the second, showier round of liquid fireworks. It almost looked like she hadn't done anything or gone anywhere except for the slight damage from the acid she passed and the stray bit of worm gore that had splashed onto her during the course of her short-lived expedition. [Sloth 2/20 posts]
Throuhout all of the fireworks, Aurelia had remained mostly quiet, floating there in the sky with her metallic wings superficially beating the wind down below, creating the look of a somewhat bored Seraph. Only a smirk broke her vaneer of boredom as thef ireworks died down. Aurelia lowered herself slowly, moving in to stand beside the mighty dragon when her feet finally touched the ground. Any metals that should have been close to harming her would be cleared from her vicinity with just a small bit of a mental command from the demoness. Her eyes flicked over the dragon, reaching out to touch the mighty beast with her own, undeniably powerful magnetic field rather than her hand. It was a greeting only their kind could understand. "Amias is such a liar, I knew you were slumming it with lesser creatures," she spoke to him. Of the few things Aurelia did really like, Omnath stood proud among them. She was a big fan of dragons on the whole.
The Demon turned her attention down the pit further, sensing a huge disturbance like something large had moved. "We getting serious now? Good, because I think we've drawn the ire of more than just soldiers. Keep your wits up, I get the feeling we are in for a fun surprise." As she said this, Aurelia aimed her wings, demonic horns and tail down the pit, standing just to the right, and slightly ahead of Omnath and his rider. She wondered, inwardly, if she was going to have to show off her own offensive prowess more directly next.
"Also... you didn't kill the Mer-killer did you? I can't seem to sense Nai..." she trailed off.

How convenient, a loose rock right next to her foot. Nai could kick it and give an inefficient answer to whether she survived or not, but she did not. Instead, she found herself speaking, "You'll be lucky to kill me without trying. On the other hand, I'd be lucky to do anything against a swarm like before." She spoke, even though it was so inefficient and unnecessary. However, the spirit that had shackled her motions and energy before was no longer around to stop her, and Nai had slowly begun to realize what this meant. Granted, now was neither the time nor place for such useless philosophical musings, but whatever she happened to think of between the actions was what she happened to think of. [Sloth 3/20 posts]
"" "I'm glad you enjoyed my display." The older man gestured humbly towards the now cooling lines and craters of destruction along the walls and descending down into the cave. "Though, to call me a liar! You are awfully rude, my dear." He poked at Aurelia, taking but a brief moment of respite before the great rumblings below could be heard. Before the visage before them became visible to the light, anyone with a special sort of energy detection--such as The Sight--would be able to see a hulking mass rumbling up the side of the hole towards them. Though it wasn't nearly as wide as the crater itself--the likes of which definitely having been made by the queen herself--the beast rising to meet them took up a fair portion, indicating that it was no small threat. It seemed interesting, sending but a single soldier to do battle with a group that had already eliminated so many.
But Amias knew better. The wurm queen wasn't foolish, and the denizen she sent after them now would likely prove to be more than apt a challenger for the party. As it neared a complete descent, the metal around them would begin to rumble...and then crack. It was difficult to believe, that such a creature was capable of generating that much seismic force with its movements alone. But here they were, and there it was. "I think...I'll allow Aurelia the first strike on this particular beast. Nai, I recommend you hang back for a bit; we Diabolos tend to get a little wide with our attacks, in case you hadn't noticed." Accompanied by a smirk, the man made their intentions clear; they weren't long for this place, needing only to do a bit of a scouting mission to assess the queen's defenses. That she would send such a large specimen so quickly spoke volumes of her reactivity. Perhaps they had less to learn from her, and simply more to kill?

• The Sight Just like their counterpart (the Nephilim) the Diabolos can read the auras about them and see things for what they are. This allows them to pinpoint an opponent's energy level(rank), along with the ability to naturally see energy.
