It had taken a few weeks of frantic molly coddling for the general to realize her team was not going to be targeted by their recently scorned general-queen for any perceived or actual insubordination at or following he folly that had been the Spec-Ops meeting. A few weeks staying more or less glued her boy's, and to a lesser extent, Marcesite(she'd not drawn any unfavorable attention, so they worry there had been a bit less concentrated). Now, mostly convinced the danger had passed, Xenotime remained patrolling with Natrolite for the sole purpose of keeping an eye on her newly promoted agent as he explored his new powers.

It let her observe him, how he handled himself against the enemy or an ally. And, in all brutal honesty, it made it easy to n** off together for a bit of spontaneous fun any time they pleased. Considering that things had only seemed to to heat up after their little debauchery at the club, that was fortuitous.

The general was sitting now on the edge of a garden wall outside one of the city's many parks, her elbow resting on the captain's shoulder as pale eyes stared fixedly down the road to their right. She could feel something, a powerful something, touched by chaos. "General," she observed mildly, the tips of her fingers making the medals on his upper chest chime softly. "Heading in this direction." It could have been a corrupted senshi, but they didn't quite feel like that.

Leucite had needed some air. Well it was less about needing the air and more about getting away from the steadily growing pile of paperwork that now awaited him in back in his office in Negaspace. He had known from the start that managing a training facility would be difficult, but the cost to his time was a bit more than he had expected. Still, a good number of recruits had him convinced that he was heading in the right direction, and that his request to have Queen Laurelite model for the recruitment posters had been well advised.

He could feel the two auras, one a Generals, the other a captains if he was feeling it right. It was good to reach out and communicate with other Generals, especially now that he was heading the Training Corps. If nothing else, to see if they might have some recruits they might think needed the shoring up... or if nothing else, to see if there were any skill they might want to pass on.

It was with some surprised when he arrived and realized just who the other General was. He had spoken with her somewhat earlier, at the meeting, but had vanished to deal with things in his own way. Bowing his head to both her and that Captain present he gave a small smile.

"Xenotime, what a pleasure to see you out and about," He said, keeping his tone polite and civil. "How goes the hunting?"

Xenotime's sudden mother-hen mode was getting to be a pain in his a**, not the good kind either, well mostly. They did have time for other activities more frequently when she was attached to his hip. But still there was a touch of irritation hidden deep within the man for the supervision. At the same time Natrolite had understood given the whole meeting incident.

A look over the area they had wound up in and the captain yawned lowly into the crook of his arm. This specific park a favorite haunt of the agent in all honesty, mainly because not a lot happened it. Not to mention it had very dark corners and tall bushes, and who couldn't appreciate that type of landscaping?

A lean towards his general and lips nipped at what parts of skin they could reach. When the woman's gaze was noticed he gave up and turned to join the stare down the road to the right. Sensing was coming easier now, among other things, so he picked up on the energy of the General coming their way. "Mhm..." Natrolite really didn't care, given a General could beat the tar out of him yes, but he still didn't care to make himself look more presentable. Instead left hand moved and a finger started to drag down the very center of his generals outfit on a smirk.

Leucite arrived and the brunette captain turned a bit more to return the nod and flash a crooked grin. It took only a second for Natrolite to recall the General's face and name. But when it came it wasn't hard to remember the graveyard battle. Or the way he had been at the meeting looking rather displeased with his Generals little corrupt pet. "Gen'..." The half-assed title came lazily but polite at least for Natrolite.

Her attention on the approaching power, she wasn't aware of how very close her captain had been leaning in until she felt a soft brush of lips nipping against the skin at the side of her neck. It made her shiver, eyes closing briefly as Leucite came into view. She was, perhaps, a bit too close to her subordinates. A little too intimate and attached to them in the eyes of her fellow generals, but no one could ever question their loyalty to her. Which was, after all, her intent.

The hand that had been resting on Natrolite's shoulder moved as she felt a finger gliding across the front of her clothing, wrapping softly around his wrist and lowering it back down to their side. "Leucite." She smiled sweetly up at him, tone polite.

She'd actually expected to see him at the meeting of generals and agents that had gathered at Stroud's home, but he'd been conspicuously absent. It'd made her wonder, and that curiosity remained now. He'd been dismissed, same as the rest of him, but word around the rift suggested he'd sought the general-queen out after the fact. It seemed such a strange move for someone that had been so against what had happened during the meeting; made her wonder.

She kept her curiosity to herself, though. "Goes very well." They'd already met Natrolite's quota for the evening, and then some, but then that wasn't exactly difficult with her patrolling with him.

"And yourself?" Questions and curiosity aside though, she did wish him, and every other officer within the Negaverse working towards their collective goals, all the best.

His eyes moved instantly from Xenotime to the Captain, and they narrowed, almost boring into the Captain for a moment, before his shifted his gaze back to Xenotime. His shoulders set a bit more squarely, and he managed to keep his voice... civil... But there was underlying strain there.

"Well enough," He said, flatly, his eyes once more boring into Natrolite, daggers almost willing the other male to say one more thing, almost desiring him to step out of line right then.

"Though I see your... long leash extends to all of your subordinates..." There was no humor in his voice now. The time for humor was gone. This was a bad precedence to set, a terrible example for any who might come to follow in their footsteps.

"Forgive me, if you think I might be... overstepping my bounds here, but I believe your Captain is in need of recognizing that there is a proper level of etiquette and protocol... Something that also seemed sorely lacking in that corrupt of yours." Leucite's jaw was set as he spoke.

"I can't help but be reminded of our conversation earlier during the Special Operations meeting... granted, that was cut short for its own reasons."

There wasn't struggle put up against his hand being moved, instead the man relaxed back. Blues traveling towards Leucite and meeting the look the general was giving him head on. What the ******** was this shitheels problem? Ever the confident a*****e Natrolite shifted back and leaned against the wall his general was sitting on, folding arms over chest.

Just listening to the exchange for the most part and looking far, far to amused by the annoyance of the other general. The conversation turned to himself and the blue eyed man lifted a brow. Chuckling under his breath. Who the ******** did this guy think he was anyhow? Protocol, etiquette? The ******** did he want to have him bow at the waist and kiss his ******** ring finger? A roll up of eyes and he was looking back up to Xenotime.

A look of mischief flashing that said stop me before its too late if you want.

The soft touch of her hand on her captains arm should be enough of a command for him to continue to hold his tongue. A year ago, maybe even more recent than that, and that wouldn't have been the case, but there were reasons she had suggested a promotion for him, and reasons that suggestion had been heeded. The problem here, as far as she saw it, was something of a differing of opinions and lack of understanding.

Well, perhaps they could fix one or both of those problems.

"You are," she answered the other general plainly, smile still polite, tone still perfectly present. "But I do forgive you." She reminded herself that he was not only new to his rank, but still somewhat new to the Negaverse as a whole. There were things he hadn't seen, hadn't done, hadn't lived through yet. Events that were lacking in his experience that might have colored an opinion or perspective. Perhaps not even simply as a soldier, but in his personal life.

She wondered, briefly, the sort of life he'd lived before the Negaverse had found him. He seemed so very sure of himself and the way things should be.

"Do you know what complete and utter loyalty from a subordinate feels like? The knowledge that, if the chance and need arose, they would die for you. Not on an order, not out of expectation, but something so much deeper." The hand on Natrolite's arm moved, lifting to rest on his shoulder. "Do you know what it feels like, knowing without a shadow of a doubt that people, the lives, you're responsible for trust you unwaveringly." Violet brows arched in question. "Can you say without a shadow of a doubt that you have either from your soldiers?" The smile grew a touch wider, and she leaned to the side, weight resting on her captain's shoulder.

"I can." It was what had driven her insubordination during the meeting. Why she had been coddling and keeping her team close to her since that evening. Why she would have given her life to protect any one of them.

"We're militaristic, but this is not a military. You've seen that for yourself. respect is not something to demanded here, it is something that must be earned." It all seemed perfectly logical to Xenotime.

"Do not assume, though, that I won't heaitate discipline when I see a need for it. Both my boys know from experience what happens if they prove themselves a problem."

Leucite wasn't sure what he disliked more, the tone that she used, or her argument that they were militaristic but not a military. They carried ranks, they fought a war. What else were they if not a Militant Organization? Moreover, he found her entire argument complete heresy, he could feel this teeth, grind together as his jaw tightened the more and more she spoke. He did however, try his best to keep his voice level and steady, but he already knew that this was going to come to a head sooner or later and so he launched his counter argument.

"With all due respect, you are completely wrong," Leucite said with a flat tone. "The loyalty of our subordinates should be to Metallia first, then to the Negaverse, then the chain of command... Which puts Queen Laurelite and the General Sovereigns before you or I."

"I do know, what complete and utter loyalty feels like, and I will agree with you that that is earned, but it is STILL no excuse for allowing anything resembling insubordination. You bring up that meeting and respect as if we were not in the wrong with our actions. But I assure you, we made a mistake, that night, one that I have gone out of my way to rectify for myself. In the heat of the moment, we all allowed our pride to get the better of ourselves and we willingly hoisted ourselves upon our own petards. Hessonite gave us the rope and we gleefully hung ourselves with it. That said, I would not change what I did, for it has opened up my eyes to see that I am needed elsewhere in this organization."

"But I still spoke with the General-Queen. I still apologized for bucking the chain of command. Because if you think we are not a military then you are again, dead wrong. We are Metallia's hand in this world, we are the sword which she strikes down those who would defile this planet. Do not think for a moment that, that does not come without cost. We must maintain order and discipline in our ranks, or we are no better than the enemy we fight."

"You say that your subordinates will die for you, but I will ask a question in return. Do you trust your subordinates to strike you down should you ever lose your way? Should you become a rogue element, a rabid dog unfit for anything but to be put down?" There was a fire in Leucite's eyes now, an anger that simmered very near the surface as he allowed himself to make his point.

"Because I know mine would, in an instant, without question, and without mercy. That is what true loyalty is, Xenotime... The willingness to do what needs be done."

Natrolite was not high enough to deal with this, a long low snort came as they engaged in the verbal battle. Of course the man could follow, he was smart enough just lacked the interest. So as Xe laid into the other general a hand went up and pulled his hat off, inside, in a seam he pulled out a cigarette and a lighter. Lighting it up and smoking as the two enjoyed themselves by giving speeches about this that and the ******** other.

Why?

Natrolite was of the opinion himself that as long as they did their work, mostly followed orders and well didn't die or ******** up it was enough. Of course the newly promoted Captain was honestly still getting a feel for things but he didn't expect his perspective to change anytime soon. As Xenotime brought up their loyalty the man smirked around the butt of his smoke. A few fingers removing the slender nicotine filled relief so he could blow out a few chuckled rings of smoke.

The talking now as he tuned in made him question a few things but ultimately he did have loyalty for Xe, but would he kill her? Absolutely. If need arose mind you, he finished on a deep inhale and flicked the still lit smoke towards Leucite direction. " tha's ah real prudy speech General...and I ca assure yew..I do whatever it takes ta get tha job done.." Blue eyes narrowed playfully with the sarcastic reply.

There was always something to gain by playing the fool and he was the worlds best.

She could have gotten angry at the other general's response, defensive, but it was a little hard, taking him seriously, despite his so serious demeanor. She just couldn't place herself in his over sized boots, their experiences within the Negaverse were too different. "With all due respect, she parroted back to him, voice still calm and over all pleasant. "You do not lead the Negaverse, and what you consider to be right or wrong only holds weight among your subordinates."

She watched Natrolite flick the cigarette butt at the other man, paused in her own retort to hear what he had to say, and seemed over all approving of it. He got the job done, that was what they were here for, what they had been recruited for. Whatever that job may be.

But then it was back to her own thoughts, her own opinions. She'd let Leucite say his fill, now he would hear her own. "We are an army, in the simplest of forms, and an army is not a military." They did not attend a boot camp, they did not have their identities striped away by cookie cutter hair cuts and uniforms. They were a wilder thing, a more brutal, violent force. The two could not be compared.

"And order and discipline are not blind. By your own admission." Had he realized his own hypocrisy? Likely not. "Where need demands action against our superiors, which you've just stated it does, on occasion, is that not just another form of insubordination?"

She snorted softly. "If I behaved as Hessonite did in that meeting, erratic, violent, and without order, I would expect a similar reaction from those serving below me, because I would have been acting out of line for what is best for the Negaverse.." The general-queen had crossed lines the eve, and nothing anyone could say would convince the fighter otherwise.

What had started as barely contained anger and rage began to boil over, the fire in his eyes sparking brighter, his body tensed visibly, jaw clenched, as Leucite did everything in his power to scowl visibly at Xenotime as she poke her statements. To him, her arguments were flimsy, and more over, completely against everything he'd come to see the Negaverse stand for.

"We do have a boot camp... It's called General Operations." Lecuite finally hissed out between teeth clenched together so hard he felt they might shatter in his mouth. "Moreover, I have started my own personal program within it, to ensure that proper order and discipline is accessible to all. So that any and all can shore up their skills in the Negaverse. A program sanctioned by the leadership of the Negaverse - a sanction I do not take lightly."

The butt of the cigarette had not been ignored, nor had the snarky, disrespectful attitude of the Captain whom Xenotime worked with. Leucite could feel the anger welling up in him, and knowing somewhat in the back of his mind that it would probably be ill form to punch a fellow general in his rage. That said...

He did not run or walk, but instead, teleported to directly in front of the Captain. His hand quickly lashed out and grabbed the Captain's lapel roughly pulling the other man toward him, driving his knee hard into his gut, before cracking a fast, hard jab across his jaw, then pushing him back into the wall with a hard shove.

"If you will not discipline your charges, OTHERS will have to do it for you..." His voice was tense, and his eyes looked to Xenotime, daring her to argue with him. His hackles were up. He'd fight her if that's what she wanted. "I will not stand by and let YOUR subordinate insult me, and think he can get away with it. THAT is what you are breeding Xenotime. If you will not curtail it, someone else will."

Beejoux

Perhaps he should have been paying a little more attention to the body language of the conversation if anything. But as it was, it was too late. Leucite was upon him and before he could even gather a reaction for that, a burning sharp pain rippled through body. There was a brief moment of dark around the corners of eyes as his body folded around the knee in stomach.

Then the old one two came with a strike to the face. His head turned with the force and lips spat out a bright red line. Teeth had cut against cheek from the strike and he was tasting copper, for once the taste unwelcome. Before he could stop himself Natrolite was hitting the wall on a hard thud and ******** son of a - nope hurt to bad to come up with a colorful curse.

Surprise was the only reason the other general managed to inflict as much damage as he did to the captain, with her sitting so very close to him. Given her history, her reputation for viciously protecting and avenging those she kept close, it was surprising that anyone, short of a general-sovereign, would be so bold as to attack one of her's, let alone while she was right there. It made her hesitate, for just an instant, but that was all it took for Leucite to drive his knee into her captain's gut, before smashing a fist up into the underside of Natrolite's jaw.

But, it was only an instant. Natrolite's blood hadn't even hit the ground yet as the smaller general spring into action.

A hand on her captain's shoulder, directing his fall after he impacted the wall. Clearing the way, so there was nothing between herself and the other general as she rocked back, momentum lending force to her own strength as one leg swung upward to aim the toe of her boot up into the underside of Leucite's chin.

Whether it connected or not, she vanished at the peek of that kick, teleporting behind him, summoning her weapon. Steel covered her arms, her shoulders, and ended in the harsh spikes that capped her knuckles. "That was a mistake." It came out warm, furious. Each syllable ground between clenched teeth. Natrolite belonged to her. Her's to protect Her's to discipline. Her's to destroy, if she saw fit. And nobody was going to steal that right. Not Hessonite, and not some jumped up, rookie general on a righteous power trip.

As the last hissed syllable passed her lips, she was moving forward, heel digging into the concrete of the sidewalk as deceptively dainty fist cocked back, body twisting.

Her aim wasn't to kill him--that would have brought even more unwanted attention--but she wanted to hurt him. Make him regret touching her agent. Make him think twice before ever presuming to do it again. He was bigger than her, twice her weight, muscled, trained. But she had her own training, layered over years of experience. Small frame built for speed and agility.

If he wanted a ******** fight, he was going to get one.

Leucite had not come for a fight. A debate, at best, an argument, at worst; but a fight? No, he had not been girded in near enough righteousness for that. The eyes had noticed the movement as she pushed off the wall, he had been looking right at her as he'd spoken - shouted - really - and so her movements were telegraphed plainly to him.

They were both trained fighters, he could see it in her stance - had heard her state her experience at the meeting. He was no fool. This was a fight that could end badly for both. So instead of meeting aggression with aggression, he simply did what was smartest in the situation.

Her kick found air, not from a block, or a well timed last second dodge. No, Leucite took full advantage of the powers granted to him by his rank, and just as Xenotime had teleported after the kick, his own had vanished, reappearing a few feet further back, summoning his own weapon even as he came into the world, spinning with the appearance of meeting her blow with the haft of his own weapon.

But again, there was no impact, as Leucite ended his feint with another teleport even a few more feet further back from their starting place. His spear was held defensively, his eyes locking on Xenotime before he spoke again.

"I don't want to fight you," He said, voice tense, a taunt line ready to snap if need be. "I will chalk that up to poor judgement. I will ignore that you tried to strike me for doing what you refuse to. Stand down, and I will forget this happened. Otherwise. I will defend myself accordingly." He said, his voice taking on a tone of warning.

"Stand down."

Before he could manage to catch a breath it seemed the two were at it. At least partially? Natrolite blinked back a wince and lifted chin up towards the teleporting pair, watching with a look of pure aggression. A hand braced himself on the wall but the Captain continued to remain hunched over since it relieved the most pain from wounds.

Xenotime was defending him.

The fact that this was happening wasn't so much as a surprise to him but actually seeing it was a bit surprising. When the other general spoke of poor judgement there came a crackled hoarse laugh from the wall. This guy, what the hell was he smoking? Wasn't he the one that just launched an attack against another generals agent, talk about poor judgement the guy couldn't even keep his damn attitude in check.

"Kick-his a** boss.." He winced out the words between clenched teeth and shifted. If he could get a second wind going...you could bet your a** he was going to jump in and help her because ******** this guy.
