The scarlet foyer is just off the main drag, but it is quiet enough for all that. Where the plum parlor is occupied by several creatures, the scarlet foyer boasts only two: the masked Sunny, who looks like she's gone and wrestled her dress from a wood chipper, and a man wearing a pharaonic death mask and trying to engage her in conversation.
As its name might suggest, the scarlet foyer is done up all in red. Mahogany tables made to seat four to six people fill the space, along with their red-upholstered dining chairs. The far wall is full of food, not all of which is recognizable to a human being and most of which seems to be some kind of enchanted. A fountain, with empty cups beside, invites guests to partake of its bounty, which is a pale golden wine. There is no option for red.

Sunny Shore; 20 to persuade; for rolls of 12+ she'll share some information. Sunny is wearing her best interpretation of fancy formal wear, and seems to have escaped whatever magic made everyone else look presentable. Her dress is something sheer and lilac beneath what seems to be Nicki Minaj's Met Gala dress. There is an actual, literal bird's nest in her hair, which is piled frizzily on top of her head in a bun that would give Helena Bonham-Carter's hair in any Tim Burton film a run for its money. Her sweetheart mask is bedazzled, and she seems surrounded by fairy lights. She is ardently uncomfortable and would probably appreciate a rescue.
The Eldritch Gentleman; 15 to persuade; quote Silverah when addressing him. The eldritch gentleman hides his identity behind a ruby red pharaonic death mask that bears an almost apologetic expression. He's clad in pale greens and blues, as if to match someone else's outfit. His hair, and most of his visible skin, is concealed beneath a pale green drape. His plate is oddly empty.

Chel | 25/25 | Hitting on Someone, Which Nobody Saw Coming
At least Chel was a woman of her word; she did go straight for the drinks (or at least, the closest thing to a bar which seemed to be this fountain ... thing) with Connor in tow.
She opted not to drink quite yet, both wanting to stay vigilant and because she was a bit paranoid of all things magical. She gave Connor a look, gesturing non-verbally to the other duo in the room with her eyes. As the twosome approached the fountain, Chel opted to lean closer to the woman and interrupt the conversation.
"Hey gorgeous, we meet again. What's with the gasbag?" she raised an eyebrow at the old man, daring him to say something. Maybe it wasn't the rescue Sunny was wanting, but it was certainly the one she was getting.

Juniper Wilcox | 25/25 | Tasting the Wine
With her new found acquaintances, Juniper entered the scarlet foyer. And, as the name suggested, things were quite...red. Her blue toned gown was obviously off in such a warm colored room but she gave it nothing more than a fleeting thought. If anything, it made her stand out more, and Juniper was never afraid of attention. After all, being in the spotlight was her dream job some day.
Following in Chel's footsteps, Juniper made her way to the table laden with food and drink. The fountain, which she may have assumed was just decoration if it wasn't for the glasses, was an appealing display. Enough so that Juniper reached forward to grab one of the many supplied glasses. Carefully she eased the drinking vessel under the fountain. Once a generous amount was contained, she pulled away and turned around as Chel began talking to one of the two other people in the room.
Juniper didn't recognize either of them, but it was obvious that Chel knew at least one of them. With drink in hand she glanced over at Connor with a raised brow as if asking 'do you know this chick, too?'
She gave the woman a glance over. Her outfit was...interesting to say the least. And the man was a bit intimidating with the mask. Still, if they were willing to have conversations, maybe somebody would clue them in on what the hell was going on here tonight with the whole murder theme.
Raising the glass to her lips, Juniper had a moment where she hesitated. Remembering how some of the food had tasted last time. Was she about to get a mouth full of...bland, horribleness? Carefully she took a sip of the liquid to taste test it and was surprised with the lovely wine. Normally she preferred reds, but this one, well, she'd make an exception.

connor hill - 25/25 - drinking wine and talking to the eldritch gentlemen
There was absolutely no protest on Connor's tongue when Chel hauled him through the main hall and into a side room decorated only in reds. He remembered the cats mentioning something about a scarlet foyer, and he guessed that this was it. They had also called it a "safe place", but he didn't feel there was any reason to trust anything a cat had said.
Inside, there was not a bar, but there was a fountain, and Connor remained optimistic that it's contents would at least be of the alcoholic persuasion. Letting go of Chel's arm, he wandered over for a closer look, a side glance given to Juniper, who it would seem had opted to come with them, for now. Reaching for his own empty glass, he filled it up with the golden amber drink, and swirled it around, while eyeing it warily, not because he was worried about having a drink of anything in this magical place, but because it was decidedly un-whiskey like in appearance.
Turning away from the fountain, he raised the drink to his lips for a light taste, and found it to be...well, not terrible at least, but not something he'd drink if given the choice for something less...well, fruity came to mind, though it wasn't exactly that.
"Alright, darling?" He asked of Juniper, who was also tasting the wine. "Planning on being a little more careful this time around, I take it?" He grinned, and began to turn away, while taking a longer sip of his drink.
"That's no fun."
His attention turned back towards Chel and the...messy...woman she was speaking with, before his gaze rose to the gentlemen in the red mask.
"Hello, please do excuse our interruption. We heard that there was safety to be had over here, and with talk of a murder, well..." He paused for a moment, his voice trailing off.
"...You do know what I'm talking about, right?" He asked, all while feigning both a sense of class and propriety, and pretending to know more than he actually did.

The Eldritch Gentleman | 25/25 | Speaking to Connor
The man in the pharaonic mask leveled his gaze at Connor, eyes cool and green behind the red enamel. "I͠nd͝ee̶ḑ," he said. "Th̛ȩr͝e ̀wi̛ll b͏e ̶a ̕m̢ùrd͞e͠r͞. Th͠er͝e̢ i͢s alwàys̵ a ̸mu͢r͝der̴."
He cast a long look to the empty plate in his hands.

Diana Vyn 25/25 - Dragging Chester with her/Headed to Chel
The foyer was interesting to say the least. The fountain was a fancy touch, and with the red of the room and her outfit she felt like this was the place to be. She saw Sunny, had heard about her, but she was still a tad bit confused by all of this. The gentleman beside her was much more extravagantly dressed to say the least, but she thought Sunny had her own sort of charm as well. They were here to figure out a mystery though, and if they were the ones to give them information she needed to stop getting distracted by fashion and fancy things. Her fingers itched to take something, but she would not give in to the urge.
"Chel!" she called out, wandering closer to the woman as she watched her speak.

connor hill - 25/25 - speaking to eldritch gentlemen
Okaaaay, this guy was a bit creepy, but Connor tried not to let his unease show, hiding his only very slight grimace behind another sip of his wine.
"Right. Sounds fair enough." He replied with a warm smile, meeting those green eyes and giving a nod, before looking down, frowning as if in thought, and then looking back up again, the index finger of his glass holding hand pointing, if only in gesture to help punctuate what he had to say next.
"I have to say, though, that I don't quite understand. Blood must have blood...but that's not to say that the blood need be given through death, does it? There must be a loophole of some kind."

Chel | 25/25 | Ogling (Again)
Chel nearly choked on her spit as she saw the bedazzled horror that was Diana's ridiculous dress. It was gorgeous on her, of course, and she looked every bit the beautiful babe of the ball, but for Chel who knew her thieving friend so well it looked positively over-the-top from her point of view.
"Look who murdered the queen ah hearts an' stole her dress," Chel said with a low whistle. "Lookin' good." Chel also shot Connor a very quick, almost unnoticeable glance; off limits.

The Eldritch Gentleman | 25/25 | Speaking to Connor
Connor was not subtle, and if the Eldritch Gentleman seemed to be looking down his nose at him. "I̡f ̴i̷t͞'s ̕n͢ǫt҉ br̴o҉ke," he pronounced, "d͟o͟n͠'ţ fix ͢i̵t. F͝ar͢ b̡ȩ i̷t ̶fr̢om̢ ̡I ͟to̡ ̡m̶éddl̸e̴ ́i͞n the̸ ̢a͢ffai̷r̨s o͠f͠ ̧the ̡Şorrowf͟ùl̴ Court."
His eyes narrowed behind his mask. "F͞ar b̡e͢ ͟ít͘ ̡f̸r̢om̢ y̧o͝u, as̢ ̴well̷."
"Oh uh...thanks," Diana blushed, happy the mask covered most of it. "I just wanted to look fancy and this seemed like the place to do it. Not too sure what all is happening, but I'm here to help if needed!"

Chester Poole: 25/25, standing next to Diana, weirded out by Chel's presence
Despite being convinced there would be no acquaintances to find, Chester saw several people he had met around town milling about as he and Diana moved deeper into the manor. Temperance, Detective Mercer, that girl from Blackfriars who'd been there when... nevermind. They were all here and all dressed in the most outrageous clothing he had laid eyes on since his grandmother dragged him to her bingo group's burlesque Halloween party when he'd been eight.
He didn't expect the 7-11 cashier to be there.
He didn't expect Diana to know her.
This was weirder than the talking cats.
Chester tried to make himself look small, but it was rather impossible considering how blue and glittery he was. At the very least, he remained silent and pale, hoping the floor would swallow him up. It could probably do that here, right?

"He insists he's my father," says Sunny to Chel, relieved as hell for the distraction. "Like, dude, either way, my dad left me in a forest to be raised by wolves, so who cares? I don't. I really don't."
She really did. She really, really did.
"You should get your friends to come sit over here," she says, "Like, between me and him. Actually if one of them could push him off his chair too that'd be great. I can't, 'cause I'm like, not... one of you, so I'd get in trouble."
You know, Chel was never one to judge but the phrase raised by wolves begged a lot of questions. Such as: what the ******** was also too chill to bring it up though, instead opting to pretend like that was a thing everybody did. Sure, raised by lions, why not?
"Yo, gramps you heard the lady. F'she ain't puttin' out then you gotta get out." She gave a shrug and put her arm around Sunny; rather than push the man away, she opted to steer Sunny elsewhere while Connor was being a lovely distraction. She gestured to Diana (and some weird guy that was with her? That was new- that was going to have to be questioned later) and Juniper that they might help in the endeavor.
Having clearly Saved The Day, Chel continued a few paces before asking, "So mysterious lady- last time s**t got ******** you were there. M'bettin' that pretty noggin's got some secrets in it again yeah? What's 'not one of us' mean?"

Sunny Shore: 25/25, talking to Chel Relieved as she is to be rescued, Sunny apparently isn't ready to spill all the beans. "Well, I'm not a guest," she says. "You are. I mean, you are, aren't you? You're masked."
