 Everyone is awoken at around 7am by the sound of Claire's loud and enthusiastic cheering. Prompted to leave their tents, they are greeted with an excited tour guide, their hands placed on their hips and chest pushed out in pride.
"Finally you're all awake! I found the place we need to be, so we need to get up and go! We're going to need everyone to pack up! Get your bags, pull the tents down, and gear up, we're going on a hike."
As everyone, including Claire, began to pull down the camp the sun began its climb. Those from Below probably find the brighter sunlight a bit intimidating, but it's harmless, promise! It took about an hour and a half for everyone to finish their task, rounded up shortly after by Claire for their hike.
Their hike is a slow and hot one. Summer is brutal this year, and frequent breaks are given.
Over the next few days, RP your character during the hike. They will be on flat terrain for the most part, but you're in a heavy forest. Be careful of roots and bushes! Claire is in the front with a machete, cutting down any worrisome thorns or branches! Once a day, an event will be posted that requires you to RNG and RP a response. Depending on what you RNG, you can become injured, which effects future parts of the Meta. Yushika will keep a list of those hurt! Failure to RNG in time will cause your character to automatically be injured. Keep an eye on this thread! The title WILL change to reflect a new Ava post has popped up!
Official posts will be on Nightmare Ava! Expect any RP changing events to be on that account! On August 14th the hike will be over! This is a required part of the Meta. If you do not post in this round and do not post in the upcoming one you will be removed from the Meta.

 Aurora woke up to the sound of Claire's loud cheering, she rubbed the sleep from her eyes, then she quickly dressed in a tank top and shorts. She wished she was able to wear hiking boots, maybe someone would invent shoes that nekos and grimms could wear. Aurora washed her hands and face, then went to help take down her tent and the other tents around the campground so they could head out on their hike. Aurora waited for Coralie before she headed out to do anything else, since that had been hanging out for a fair amount of the trip, Aurora didn't want to leave the nixie alone in the heat in case she needed help. Aurora was thankful for her grimm genes that helped her navigate the forest with it's roots and rocks, she was able to keep up with the hike without hurting herself, she stayed at a fairly slow pace in case anyone needed help. Aurora was also keeping an eye out for Bridgette and Clyde to make sure they were alright.

It had been a long evening as Patches went about hunting wood to keep the camp warm for the night. It wasn't a very hard task, but it was tedious considering just how much their needed for their rather large group of travelers. Once she was done gathering what wood was needed she grabbed some pasta and sought about looking for Mahuyah. She sat down around the fire, enjoying the company of her new friends and even newer individuals. At some point she fell asleep. Whether she had made it to her bed on her own or not was a mystery though.
One thing was for certain though, Above during the summer was hot. Her thick fur certainly wasn't helping much in that regard. And she kept squinting past the light that was shining through the trees. It was just so bright outside. "How are you holding up Mahuyah? You remembered your salve right?" As hot as she was she knew Mahuyah was probably uncomfortable. Surely this trip would be work it all in the end however. While it was hot, there was still something new to see around every corner and with plenty of breaks at least she wasn't too exhausted.
"This is all so different from what it's like in Below..." She was starting up a conversation as the group was passing alongside the bottom of a cliff. Thankfully her big ears caught the sound of the rocks falling down she ducked and jumped out of the way of one that was in her path. In her own haste to avoid the rock aimed right at her she lost track of Mahuyah.
"Mahuyah, are you okay?" She called out for her Nixie friend, concerned the other girl, or anyone else for that matter, could have gotten hurt. What a start to their trip this was turning out to be.

 Ugh... It was far too early to be conscious. Ghester was beginning to question his sanity as he crawled from the darkness of the tent into the light. Of course, spying the the cutest little pink geist ever, reminded him of his reasoning. If he wasn't careful, Bibiana could easily be the death of him. All the same, the grimm got himself up and ready to go for the hike. Of course, he did his best to expertly avoid as much work as he possibly could.
As the trek started, Ghester tossed his sunglasses that he picked up for the trip on. This light was seriously way too frickin' bright. "Ugh... Beebs... My eyes are gonna melt out my head at this point... Along with the rest of me." He had packed his lightest clothing -- shorts, tanks, blah blah blah -- but he still ended up taking his shirt off all the same, stuffing it in his bag real quick.
It didn't take the group long to make it down to the bottom, but nature seemed to want to say 'not so fast!' as rocks began to fall toward them! "s**t! Beebs!" Ghester shouted out as he reached out, grabbing her hand to pull her close to him in hopes of keeping her safe!

Despite the fact that the pink Geist was normally a morning person, being woken at seven in the morning and that morning being brighter than she was used to meant that Bibiana was a little more subdued than she usually was. She helped where she could to break camp and by the time they were under way, she was almost back to being her normal perky self.
She laughed softly. "No melting! The rest of the trip would be very boring without you," she assured him. Taking the summer heat into account, Bibi had packed plenty of shorts and tank tops. At this point, she was wishing she had something to dim the sun with. "It's so bright up here," she said and squinted against the sun. Movement next to her made her turn toward Ghester....who was taking his shirt off. Oh. My. Nine. Bibi blushed furiously, her cheeks turning a neon shade of pink.
She was not paying attention to the sudden barrage of falling rocks, so when Ghester pulled her closer she squeaked adorably. Half a second later, a rock fell right where she'd been standing. "Eep! You saved me!" she said, smiling brightly up at him.

 Tambre was already up before Claire began their enthusiastic wake-up call. She was used to being up early due to having been in the military for so many years that it had now become a daily routine. Sleeping in the tents and being on the move had even reminded her of the time she spent in her platoon. Some of it brought back bad memories, but she was thankful that her body had remembered how to adjust well to the circumstances.
When they got to the cliff, she couldn't help but frown. Something was off though she couldn't place her finger on it. Thankfully, everything seemed to be okay so far, hopefully it continued that way.

 Last night had been fun, even though they all had to work so hard, and she had totally embarrassed herself in front of her new friends. When Nashira has gone to bed, she barely laid down, and was dead to the world. When Claire woke them all up in the morning, Nashira almost didn't want to get up. But with a yawn, she drug herself out of the tent. This was a new experience for her. She hadn't slept in a tent before. She felt a little stiff, but nothing that a few morning stretches wouldn't cure, right? After packing up everything, Nashira hefted her bags onto her shoulders, but made sure that her camera was out this time. She had missed it on the bus when everyone was taking pictures, and hadn't bothered to bring it when hunting wood. But now? Now she was determined to get pictures of everyone. However, first thing was first. There was a cliff with falling rocks. Was this really a smart idea? Bringing a bunch of students along a path like this? But in the end, Nashira was able to avoid the rocks, though she did get some dust on her clothes. After brushing herself off, she took a picture of the cliff they had passed. Purely for posterity, of course. She was going to document the trip. She totally wasn't stalling to see if she could find any of her friends from the day before.

 Bridgette was up and looked around since she was up before most people were. She looked over as she heard an enthusiastic wake up call. Seemed Claire was an early bird and liked people up with them. She smiled and got up already dressed and ready to go. She helped people take down tents and pack things up. Once that was all done and went with the others to where they needed to be. She pushed her hair back as it was pretty hot. She was thankful for the small shirt she wore allowing her to get some air and not have too much to heat her up. She started the hike and looked around to help anyone who needed it. She was worried but so far no one had gotten hurt, which was good. She was happy so far no one had been hurt.

 The Hybrid groaned when Claire woke everyone up. He definitely wasn’t a morning person, although it made sense that the trip would start early in the morning. Most people seemed to be more day people than night owls. He winced a bit at the brightness but it wasn’t anything he wouldn’t get used to after a while. After gathering up his supplies and breaking down his tent he reached into his bag and reput his mask on, only because it was white, and he was charcoal colored everywhere else that not having his face heat up do to the sun beating down on it would be nice. Samhain frowned as he looked at the path in front of him. It had been mostly uneventful with the terrain being on the level side but the closer that they walked to the cliff the more off putting he felt. There was something in him that wanted to growl, like walking under the cliff was a bad idea. It was about then that the rocks started falling. Samhain was able to skirt around them, although he did get an indignant squeak from Dublin at all the dodging. Obviously this path wasn’t traveled very often, but then again Below took people into heavily rumored and dangerous haunted houses so who was to say that below didn’t have their own version.

 Morning came too fast. Callixtus groaned and rubbed his as Claire woke them. Far too early. Plus... he was sore. The day before was probably more physical activity than he had in the last month. Maybe he needed to do more exercising after this trip. Just to get a little more into shape. If this trip didn't kill him first. He thought to himself as they hiked. The night had wrapped up so quickly- he never had a chance to talk to Nashira. He would have to do it sometime today, he didn't like that they had parted with he feeling some bad. Yes, he felt a little silly during their dance, but that didn't mean he wasn't having fun. He frowned. He would definitely have to chat with her. Lost in his own thoughts, he almost didn't notice as rocks fell from the cliffs above. Luckily, someone else's shouting caught his attention and he narrowly missed being clobbered. "I knew this trip was going to try and kill me."

 Naosu didn't mind the early wake up too much, other than not having the best of sleeps on account of being used to a softer place to sleep. She had snuggled down in a tent with T'kani and Noelan though, so that had made up for it and she hoped she hadn't disturbed them too much. She plodded along a bit sleepily now though.

 "ACK! Rocks!" Niamh moved as carefully as she can past the cliff, her eyes wide, but concerned for others too. She didn't want to risk leaving behind some one if they got hurt. She also kept an eye on Xerxes... After all, she had a new friend, and she wanted to hang around with him on this trip, when she could!

Nothing pleased the grimm more than finding ways to make the little cutie geist blush, but his heart was just about to pound right out of his chest when he saw that he just barely managed to pull her out of a roll's way! Even her preciously adorable smile couldn't pull him out of the panic he felt over what just happened. His hands rested on her cheeks, tilting her head this and that way as he looked her over just to be sure!
"Oh thank gods..." he sighed out in relief, pulling her close against him. Of course this didn't last long as the rocks were still falling. "C'mon... we gotta get you clear of these things! You're gonna wanna hold on!" and that was the only warning he gave before turning around and kneeling as he pulled her to his back. As soon as Ghester felt her arms around him, he took her legs to wrap them around his waist and off he went! "Let's catch up to what's her face! It has to be safer by her by now!"
