Name: Amelia 'Amy' Miller Age: 18 Personality: Amelia is a straight A student with a part time job and a close circle of friends. She's the girl next door that everyone wants to meet at least once and her parents couldn't be happier. She listens to her father and stays as far from the bad side of the tracks as possible. This sheltered lifestyle has led her to be a bit naive and trusting of everyone, especially those her father would rather her stay away from. She is always burdened by her destiny but refuses to let it show around her friends. She's learned to force a smile whenever she can and it shows in her wonderful customer service. Not even her closest friends can tell when she's exhausted from studying and working so strenuously. Oftentimes she feels like she can never stop moving. When she does get some time to herself, she likes to read and always imagines her life as a different fairy tale depending on the day. She's superstitious towards fairy tale evils and takes time to draw dresses in her free time. Perhaps she's not as mature as she wishes she could be. She does try very hard to maintain the expectations of her parents but sometimes feels overwhelmed and wishes for a simpler life. Sometimes when she gets lost in a book or listens to a good Taylor Swift song, she wonders about what a good knight and shining armor could be. Her dating life is nonexistent and has left her socially awkward when it comes to men. That's not to say she didn't have a bad boy phase...or she's not still in it. She's always wondered if someone existed that could break her out of this constant and painful monotony. Occupation: Convenience store assistant manager. Some Likes: Reading fairy tales, Listening to music, A good day at work, An easy assignment, Church sermons, Her father's gentleness, Her dreams, Her drawings. Some Dislikes: Picky children, Rude people, Presumptuous people, Her father's rude streaks, Losing friends, Awful customers. Additional scars or piercings: Father doesn't exactly agree with desecrations of the flesh...but she's always wanted to pierce her ears. Unfortunately that's not possible. Hobbies: Reading, Music, Studying, Gardening, Competitive couponing, Writing romantic fan fiction. Habits: She has a habit of being destructively naïve. She believes everyone when they tell her something and likes to pretend that they wouldn't lie to her. She also has a habit of believing in superstitions, mostly magic and fate. She likes to think that god isn't the only determining factor out there, which is a real sin in her father's eyes. Sometimes...even she questions the bible for it's crude content. She would prefer everything be a bit nicer. Favorite song: Love story - Taylor Swift

"To the pure you show yourself pure and to the crooked you show yourself shrewd." ~[ "Oh no sir, unfortunately that sale ended yesterday!" It was a typical day. Just another typical workday at the ol' Ameristop, a convenience store on Tucker street. Just a typical day for the store but unfortunately, this typical day was one of the worst this man had had all week and he wanted to take out his rage on his cashier. Her name was Amy, and she was the manager's assistant as well as a very kind clerk. It was up to her to sooth this man but her attempts were doomed to fail. "How the hell does a convenience store keep itself running with sales changing so much?! Not very convenient is it?"All the sale signs had been removed and any idea that this product would be on sale were non-existent. Our Amy was just guilty of doing her job at the wrong time. "Don't worry sir, I can override the price for yo-" She tried to reason with him, he continued, obviously not calming down. "I want to see a manager." He demanded. Maureen, not far behind her, came to her aid and eventually sent the customer off with his ice cream for sale price. Amy's hands were shaking and Maureen's sigh was enough to let her know her elder understood. Instead of trying to calm her, Maureen gave the girl a break she probably needed. Amy slipped out of the store. She rounded a corner and slid down the wall near the dumpster with shaky hands and a beat up paper bag, her lunch. She tried to wipe away her tears but it wouldn't be enough. The sting was still very real. She opened her lunch and tried to get over it. "This wouldn't happen...in a good book." She whispered, trying now to feel stupid for talking out loud. She blushed...smiling finally. She just had a sandwich and a diet coke, a simple lunch. She ate away, finally starting to feel better with the help of sunlight and a gentle breeze to rock her emotions away. ]~ "Wouldn't it make more sense to just be nice to everyone?" OOC: It's fine. Take your time! smile

OH, CAN'T YOU SEE?xxxYOU BELONG TO ME !xxxMY POOR HEART ACHES WITH EVERY STEP YOU TAKE╰ EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE EVERY VOW YOU BREAK , EVERY SMILE YOU FAKE EVERY CLAIM YOU STEAK I'LL BE WATCHING YOU Psychotic.
That would be an appropriate way to describe Matthew Vaughn.
He spent his days at work and his nights at different bars, chatting it up and having a good time with individuals, and taking home a girl at the end of the night. He would take what he called the 'lucky' ones back to his apartment and have his way, and then shoo them out the following morning if they hadn't already left on their own. The unlucky ones, on the other hand, didn't so much as make it to his car without having their lives viciously ripped from them first. After that happened, he would dump the body into the backseat of his car and drive somewhere far away before disposing of it. He knew it was sick and twisted and all kinds of wrong but that never seemed to stop him from doing it again.
Clad in a white grease stained undershirt and a pair of dark trousers, Matthew checked the time on his digital watch and saw that his lunch break was in just one minute, which meant he could finally have his first cigarette of the day. He usually had a morning smoke but since he was running late today, he didn't get the chance to. "Matt!" A gruff voice suddenly called.
Matthew 'Matt' Vaughn - his identity since three weeks prior.
"Yeah, boss?" The male shouted back dully, patting down his pockets to ensure he had his wallet and cigarettes. Every day for lunch since he had picked up the job at Master Mechanic, Matthew would walk down to the convenience store about a block away and buy himself a bottle of water along with a bag of salted cashews to munch on throughout the day, along with a treat for his boss. "You headin' to the convenience store, kid?" Matthew headed over towards the sink to wash the black stains off his hands, replying with a yes as he went. "Get me a Pepsi, will you? Diet!" Biting back a snarky remark that he was certain would get him fired, Matthew just smirked softly to himself and nodded his head. "Of course." It was a gorgeous spring day today with not a cloud in the clear blue sky, bright and sunny. A bell chimed once when Matthew swung open the door to the convenience store and the elderly man behind the counter gave him an welcoming smile, to which Matthew only returned with an absent nod of his before continuing inside. The place was compacted with teenagers from the local high school just up the street, most of them crowding the slushy station, Matthew assumed since they were on their lunch break. Scratching the bit of scruff on his jaw, he looked around a bit and headed over to the refrigerated area at the back of the shop for his water and his bosses diet Pepsi.
Once everything had been paid for, Matthew was once again on his way to work to complete the rest of his dreaded ten hour shift. As he approached the alleyway behind the convenience store he couldn't help but pause and let his eyes roam. There was a story about a female being was attacked in the ally and brutally murdered, but no one knew for sure as it happened many years ago. Other macabre stories surrounded the ally which is why no one dared enter it - at night at least. Matthew wasn't sure that any of these small town stories were true but he was itching to give them one they'd never forget. He was about to walk on when out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a pair of feet sticking out from behind the dumpster.
Curious now the male decided to investigate. He took his time walking over, quiet as a mouse, and smirked softly at the sight of a petite brunette. There she sat with a paper bag on her lap, munching away on a white breaded sandwich that was no doubt made by a loving parent before she'd left for work. "What's a pretty little thing like you doin' sittin' behind a dumpster?" His Boston accent was profound the moment he'd opened his mouth, and with a warm smile the 6'4" figure leaned against the dumpster as he eyed the chicklet with the friendliest, yet fakest smile in the universe.

"To the pure you show yourself pure and to the crooked you show yourself shrewd." ~[Her lunch was going as planned. She didn't expect anything to happen, in fact she expected everything to go off without a hitch. She never was one to watch the news and stories of murder and loss never reached her ears in her parent's presence. Maybe they were trying to shield their daughter from the world and it's reality. Amy was more or less kept completely sheltered from the world and it's darkness while she did her best everyday to be the god given light her parents wanted her to be. She munched with a smile, finally rid of her painful feelings from earlier. That customer was now a bitter punchline in her mind now. The soft bittersweet taste of her diet beverage was proof that time healed all wounds. Finally she was lost in her thoughts, it was then that a scuffle of feet and a deep voice made her jump and look towards the disturbance like a frightened kitten. Her eyes, as bright as headlights, looked up at the man before her. He was taller than Daddy and scruffier then any prince in her books. His clothes were dirty and riddled with spots but his stance felt almost strategic. What made him wanna talk to her? She couldn't remember him? He was definitely handsome, it was nice to know he was taking the time to come her way. She slipped a hand to her mouth and tried to wipe the crumbs and left over soda from her lips with as much grace as she could before smiling to him. Her smile was genuine... "I'm...just sitting here." She said plainly, trying to be polite. "I'm on break." Her eye's were still slightly red from crying but her smile showed real strength. This was a girl whose lips could smile no matter what after all. "I can't believe you saw me, usually my co-workers have no idea where I go." She laughed, finishing her sentence with an almost unreal giggle that matched her well. He had called her pretty and his accent was apparent. Maybe he was just born with a local personality, she shouldn't read into it. There are all kinds of people. "What are you doing?" She asked.]~ "Wouldn't it make more sense to just be nice to everyone?"

OH, CAN'T YOU SEE?xxxYOU BELONG TO ME !xxxMY POOR HEART ACHES WITH EVERY STEP YOU TAKE╰ EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE EVERY VOW YOU BREAK , EVERY SMILE YOU FAKE EVERY CLAIM YOU STEAK I'LL BE WATCHING YOU The poor girl resembled a deer caught in the headlights perfectly at the sound of his voice. She appeared tense and almost frightened, but after a long moments hesitation of speaking she finally opened her mouth and answered his question. His piercing blue eyes lowered to her luscious pink lips that formed an unexpected smile which radiated innocence. He guessed she was at least sixteen. Too young to touch...but a little light flirting never hurt anyone, did it?
Matthew had never been in a relationship before - instead, he went to clubs and bars and hooked up with women for one-night stands. He never cared for anyone but himself; he never 'fell in love' or 'had a crush'. He didn't have the ability to do so - he just...didn't have a heart. It was always just an attraction that pulled him to hook up with women momentarily and that was it.
A light chuckle escaped his lips as she giggled, and with that warm and comforting smile of his, he decided to sit himself against the wall opposite of her. "Well," he began, grunting as he lowered himself onto the ground, "your feet gave you away."
He let his long, muscular legs stretch out in front of him and planted his groceries in the gap between his quads. It felt good to sit down after standing, bending and heavy lifting for five hours straight. "I'm on break, too. I'm employed at the auto shop that's a few blocks up the road," he answered casually, untying the knot he'd put in the plastic bag to retrieve his cashews and water. After taking a refreshing swig, he eyed the girl some more and dug a hand deep into his pocket to fish out his smokes. "Do you mind?" He asked, dangling a cigarette from his lips but holding off on lighting it until she gave him an answer.

"To the pure you show yourself pure and to the crooked you show yourself shrewd." ~[He really was something. Here he was, a total stranger, engaging her. Well, she was eighteen and capable of talking to whomever she wanted right? She smiled to him and even shook her head with a wider smile when he said her feet gave her away. He wasn't just handsome, he was charming. She never imagined someone like him coming from no where to join her for a lunch break. He was tall, he was sculpted, almost out of stone. A part of her wondered if he escaped from a fairytale, a charming prince alone in 3D. As he sat down she noticed his height. If he had sat down directly across from her, they would be practically playing footsie. Even on Amy's tippy toes she stood at a measly 5'8 for goodness sake! He was truly incredible and it made poor Amy feel self conscious. She wasn't out of shape by any means but she wasn't really all that muscular. Her skin was tight and her structure was lithe at best. She was pale with bright red lips. Here she was doubting herself, but she didn't exactly have any past relationships to gauge anything. An auto worker huh? That would explain the spots, and maybe the muscles? This felt unreal, but nice. She nodded, letting him know she understood. "Oh, not at all." She couldn't care if he smoked, some of her friends did. "Well I work here," She patted the store building behind her. "Customer service, nowhere to go but up." She paused, maintaining her awkward smile while making conversation. "I'm surprised I haven't seen you around before. Do you often come out here for lunch?" Her coke felt warm in her hand and her sandwich was getting stale. She couldn't tell, she was locked on him. When she realized he had something to munch on, maybe it was up to her to reciprocate. She began eating too, almost feeling to self conscious to chew in his direction. Every now and then she would sip her coke but she never managed to take her eyes off of him. ]~ "Wouldn't it make more sense to just be nice to everyone?"

OH, CAN'T YOU SEE?xxxYOU BELONG TO ME !xxxMY POOR HEART ACHES WITH EVERY STEP YOU TAKE╰ EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE EVERY VOW YOU BREAK , EVERY SMILE YOU FAKE EVERY CLAIM YOU STEAK I'LL BE WATCHING YOU Flick went his thumb. He let the small flame linger against the tip of the cigarette and inhaled deeply, simultaneously acknowledging what the brunette had to say. She worked at the convenience store and for a moment his mind blanked. He couldn't help but ponder why he hadn't seen her before. Surely he would have remembered a cute face like hers. "Everyday at one o'clock," he answered. "Ironic and a little sad, isn't it? How have I not run into you until just now, and not even in the building?" Matthew flashed a small grin at the other and took another another puff of his smoke, momentarily readjusting his legs so that he could rest his massive forearms atop his knees.
After eating a few cashews and sipping some of his drink, he wiped his hands on his pants and then looked towards the petite brunette again. "I'm Matthew, by the way. Matthew Vaughn." He informed. "What's your name?"

"To the pure you show yourself pure and to the crooked you show yourself shrewd." ~[It was ironic, but nothing they could change. Perhaps it was all a wakeup call. Maybe Amy should pay more attention to their regulars and remember them. Considering the amount of people that flit through her store, it's a wonder why she remembers most of them but the ones who come every day! There was no excuse for not having seen Matthew. Matthew... That was his name, short and simple. She was a bit disappointed but a part of her was glad. She expected him to have a name like Steele or Zeak, something that just screamed badass. Instead, his name was simple and well thought out. It wasn't completely boring and had a tinge of intellect. Matthew, not even Matt. "Amy Miller, my dad calls me Amelia." She smiled. She had finished her sandwich, leaving nothing left but a sip of her coke. She had nothing keeping her here but she didn't want to leave. "I'm kinda happy you found me..." Oh no, she had run out of conversation topics already?! She just decided to talk about what was on her mind. "I was yelled at by a customer earlier and being alone only made it feel worst. What are the customers like at your job?" ]~ "Wouldn't it make more sense to just be nice to everyone?" OOC: NEVER think that I'm expecting a novel every post. :3 We're here to have fun after all. You have nothing to be sorry about, is basically what I'm tryin' to say.

OH, CAN'T YOU SEE?xxxYOU BELONG TO ME !xxxMY POOR HEART ACHES WITH EVERY STEP YOU TAKE╰ EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE EVERY VOW YOU BREAK , EVERY SMILE YOU FAKE EVERY CLAIM YOU STEAK I'LL BE WATCHING YOU Matthew enjoyed watching his victims suffer before his eyes. Perhaps his favourite part of it all was when they realized his true intentions weren't with his d**k, but with his twisted, ******** up mind. They would try to fight him off, beg him to spare their lives, though he never would. Where was the fun in that? And as he sat there staring at this breathtakingly beautiful, vulnerable girl, he felt the familiar urge start to come back. It had been nearly three months since his last kill and yet he remembered it like it happened yesterday. And although Amelia certainly didn't fit into the age range of his usual victims, he would have made a special exception for her. If only he'd encountered her on the outskirts of town rather than behind a convenience store. What a shame.
The male merely smiled at the girls innocent little statement. He must have looked like a complete creep the way he was staring at her with this hungry look in his fierce blue irises, almost unblinking. It was when she asked him about his job that he finally broke out of his trance and lifted the bottle of water to his lips for another sip. "They're assholes," he said bluntly with a soft chuckle. "Our advisors aren't perfect people but we certainly don't deserve the abuse we get from customers. People call up and yell at us because we can't find their car and tell them what's going on with it...because they dropped it off at another location and called us for some unfathomable reason. Today I was yelled at because I couldn't do a warranty repair on their Ford card--at our Toyota dealership."
"People are idiots, is what I'm sayin'." He summed up his point with that and gave the girl an amused smile. "So what time are you off?" Matthew lifted his eyebrows questioningly, bringing his smoke to his lips for another drag.
--- haha alrighty. finally got this up for you, hope it's ok! i had a long day at work so if you need me to change anything, lemme know~

"To the pure you show yourself pure and to the crooked you show yourself shrewd." ~[She was oblivious at first, but eventually she began to notice. He was staring at her. She began to wonder what he was so preoccupied with. She made attempts to look around or even look down at her food but every time she looked to him, he was staring at her with no intent of changing course. It was definitely intoxicating to think he was just a good listener but it was even better to imagine that he was looking at something more. Maybe...he liked her? She always believed in the idea of love at first site, maybe this was her fairytale? She couldn't help but amuse the idea but it was impossible, even she knew that. Still, the idea was nice. His story made her feel at ease. It was nice to know he understood her feelings. She even laughed at his recollection. "I got it." She smiled, another innocent smile not mixed with laughter. She was beginning to genuinely enjoy his presence. He broke the laughter then with his own question. Why did he need to know that? She thought away, lost in thought before looking up to him. "Five, why?" She stopped smiling, looking to him with an innocent type of seriousness. She was wondering, did he want to meet with her? What would they do? What was his purpose? What would she tell her father!? Maybe she could tell him she was at a friends house...the idea was too temping not to entertain in her head. "Did you wanna stalk me or something?" ]~ "Wouldn't it make more sense to just be nice to everyone?" OOC: It's perfect. XD Rest up.

OH, CAN'T YOU SEE?xxxYOU BELONG TO ME !xxxMY POOR HEART ACHES WITH EVERY STEP YOU TAKE╰ EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE EVERY VOW YOU BREAK , EVERY SMILE YOU FAKE EVERY CLAIM YOU STEAK I'LL BE WATCHING YOU You are an idiot, Matthew. He was too forward. All traces of laughter and smiles disappeared from her face the moment that question escaped his lips. Normally he was more heedful of the way he approached his victims...perhaps it was his own excitement that was rousing him up. "Is it that obvious?" He said in a teasing voice, smirking slightly before tossing the butt of his cigarette into a small puddle. He then looked towards Amy with a smile that could melt an iceberg. "I was just thinking we could meet up. Grab a bite to eat, see a movie. Whatever your heart desires." He flashed a small, friendly grin. "Unless of course you have a curfew..?" He was teasing the girl which was evident in the way he arched his brow at her.

"To the pure you show yourself pure and to the crooked you show yourself shrewd." ~[His teasing made her smile again, even laugh. She wanted to seem normal but a part of her was skeptic. It was when he spoke of his intentions that she felt wary. She did just meet him after all, maybe this was happening too fast. She just couldn't imagine the idea of having him around, he was too ethereal and far too charming. He was a lot like a sexy Cheshire cat...maybe it was time to falter. She kept smiling and shook her head. "I'm eighteen, I don't need a curfew." She looked to him, her eye's meeting his. "I'll have to pass though, the only thing I desire is an early bedtime...I'm exhausted..." She paused, hoping to gauge his reaction. "But thank you..." Still, she couldn't help but think back to the adrenaline she felt when he asked. Her mind had to do mental exercises to avoid going off into it's own world. Here a devilishly attractive guy went out of his way to ask her out? How could she turn him down? Maybe reality was something to listen to this time... ]~ "Wouldn't it make more sense to just be nice to everyone?"

OH, CAN'T YOU SEE?xxxYOU BELONG TO ME !xxxMY POOR HEART ACHES WITH EVERY STEP YOU TAKE╰ EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE EVERY VOW YOU BREAK , EVERY SMILE YOU FAKE EVERY CLAIM YOU STEAK I'LL BE WATCHING YOU The male merely nodded at her response, sort of disappointed yet mentally applauding the girl for using her brain. Some were just so quick to run off with him that it left him pondering whether they'd ever seen a horror movie. It was cringeworthy, really. "Ah, well," Matthew shrugged his broad shoulders as he gathered his things and stood up. He just smiled as if her reply had little to no effect on him. "Can't blame a guy for trying."
"Amy!! Your break ended seven minutes ago! What the hell are you still doing back here?!" He heard someone's voice snap. Matthew let himself lose the staring competition this time and let his gaze travel over to a man who was standing in the opening of the alley. "Sounds like your boss has got you on a tight leash. Best not keep him waiting," he said with a taunting smile and a wink before walking towards the exit. Amy's boss was now staring at him as he continued standing there, and judging by the trace of nervousness in his eyes, he figured it was of intimidation. With his towering height and the fact that he was built of refined muscle, his ink, and not to mention his facial hair, it was quite understandable. The man stepped aside in an instant allowing Matthew to pass by and continue his way down the sidewalk.
- time skip -
Boredom. He was drowning in boredom.
Where in the world were all the cute ones at? The bar couldn't have been less lively and it was really starting to irk him. He almost gave up and called it a night until he spotted a sweet girl with an even sweeter behind leaning against the bar, and he arrived just as her drink did – a column of red white and blue with a cherry, rimmed with sugar. Matthew leaned in beside her. "What on earth is that?" The pretty brunette glanced towards him. "Oh," she said, ducking her head as she chuckled. "It's a Twisted Rocket. It's kind of like a slushy but for grown ups." She took a sip.
"Is it any good?" She was cute. Not as cute as the brunette from earlier, that was for sure, but she would suffice. She looked around his age, twenty-eight, possibly a year or two younger. He was already plotting in his head which way he would kill her. How he would snatch away that last breath. "It's not bad. Blue curacao, lemonade, a little bit of raspberry sour puss, I think. You want a sip?" She held the drink out to him. Matthew leaned in, not breaking eye contact as he took a drink. He made a considering face. "Tastes like the Ice Pops my mother used to buy me as a kid," he recalled, though far from lovingly. "So what brings you here tonight?"
The two continued their conversation for about an hour or so and he pretended to be interested in what she was saying. She was drunk off her a** by this point in time and she was mostly just giggles and slurs, and she was continuously redirecting his attention back to her whenever she found his eyes scanning the room. In one glance in particular, he caught the familiar wavy brown of a girl and he stared at her for a few seconds longer until he saw her face. It was the girl from the convenience store. His lips parted slightly at the realization and he downed his current drink before grabbing his jacket from the stool as the girl was talking. "You know what? I just remembered I have work early in the morning, so I should probably go. It was nice talking to you, Scarlett."
"It's Charlotte." She glared at him. "Whatever," he muttered, his feet already carrying him away from her in the direction of the girl. He walked up beside her and slid into the seat right next to her. "Amelia, right?" He greeted with a warm smile. A smile that seemed to soften every single one of his features and compliment his bright blue eyes, that appeared even brighter under the dim light they were sitting under. "Aren't you a little young to be hanging out in bars?" He seemed to recall Amy stating her age earlier. Eighteen.
