I have been for some time now, mulling over an idea in my head, which I believe would piss off many people on one hand, but on the other make many a happy person. My largest talent on Gaia, is my ability to be descriptive, and come up with awesome characters (Mostly evil ones), these two key skills have landed me many role's in RP's one would normally not get. So, I have been thinking this over long and hard now!
I being a poor person on Gaia, like many of us would like to make some extra gold, but are not artistic in the drawing sense. I, however am very artsy fartsy when like I said, it comes to my two key skills. Now, I am thinking about making shop and generating Profiles and RP's to be used by people, a nominal fee of course.
The thing is, I am not unethical and can already see the problems with this! If I were to make a very nice RP or Profile for a complete n00b, and they get into place's with people thinking that they are actually a very skilled RP'er and are not, I know I will never hear the end of it! So, I have come up with a sort of failsafe to this, which I a still testing, but as it stands what do you guy's think?

Well, I'd personally get really pissed if other people were using my profiles, whether or not I "sold" it to them. But, if you don't mind that/want to do it and you can manage to make a foolproof system, it sounds ok.

I can see this becoming a serious problem. For one thing, like you said, a "complete n00b" could enter a potentially fabulous RP and completely destroy it from the inside, using your creation to get in. Also, wouldn't you feel a bit of separation anxiety, practically giving away pieces of yourself to complete strangers for the sake of accumulating something of lesser value?
These are things I can see as an obstacle to me if I should do such a thing, and may not all apply to you. Having said that, I think it is a very dangerous idea. But that is for you to decide.

In my opinion you should really consider the fact of charging to "train" noobs with RP skills. I can tell you one thing it would be quite profitable since most noobs would generally say yes take my gold for RP training. I am an Avid RPer and I sometimes charge for the training I give out. I remember making tons of gold for training in simple things. One time I made over 3000 gold in one day for just helping out people. But you know it's whatever floats your boat though.

Hm. That's a good idea. Though I personally wouldn't be a very good trainer. Or teacher of any sort, for that matter.

... Yeah... About your idea...
I love coming up with nice [NOT PERFECT] profiles. I do it all the time, but I'm not very good at art, [unless it's like the PunkPiggy drawing in the Profiles forum]. I would be a client only for the art... I kinda suck a drawing, I know it, I accept it, yet I still try and nothing good happens.
But, like Otaku Mitsubishi said, I'd train noobs before letting them reak RP-havoc on the literate and avid RPers. I like your idea though, sounds nice.

Bad idea with good intentions? Well, I can't see much harm in it... You could do a trial thread, and keep track of all the customers, and if it doesn't work out, then you could ask them to remove your profiles...? That might be dicey too, though. If not, you could keep track of them, and if they're using your profiles in a bad way, you could steer them away from doing that... I don't know. I wouldn't do it if I were you.

I like the idea of training newbies, since that's often what they need, and not all of them are retarded. sweatdrop So, yeah, it's a good idea.
Although, if you still prefer your original idea, or are terrible at teaching people xp , then you could possibly come up with rp profile reccomendations, instead of selling out your best written ideas to the highest bidder. =/ Like offering advice, for a small fee, might work...I dunno, but you probably get the idea.

Hmmm, training a n00b wouldn't be the easiest of jobs I'm sure...
"You have to at least TRY to use correct spelling and punctuation!" "WAT DO U MEEN?!?" "Alright, instead of typing 'U' you should spell it out; 'you'. Don't be lazy. Same with 'what' and 'mean,' try to spell correctly most of the time. Oh, and please take off your caps lock as well..." "NUUUUU!1!!elev1enty!11!!!1 NEVER1! UR MEEN! I H8 U!" "..." -_-'
Good luck.
Oh, and if you're not very keen on teaching the n00bs yourself, maybe you could hire someone to do it for you, or find a friend to help you out and open the n00b boot camp + RP profile shop together.
