It began as most meetings did - like watching a butterfly land on your shoulder. Her companion was curious, yet apprehensive and unsure. The other mare had come upon her while she was drinking from a small spring near her home. Truth be told Nirmala had heard her long before she had seen her, with the other mare's hooves crunching through the underbrush as loud as they had. It gave her a few moments warning to collect herself and prepare to receive her guest as unexpected as they may be. Her guest would have their own small bit of time to quietly examine her before Nirmala pretended to just now notice her presence. She always made a show of it when guests arrived - it was not a crime to flaunt her mother given loveliness for their enjoyment as well as her own.

Once she was done drinking she lifted her head, tilting it just so that her mane frame her face perfectly. "Hello. Welcome to my home." She lifted her wings enough to show off her plumage and adornments, smiling pleasantly to find the other mare staring at her.

Ora had been on her way to visit her sister Irierath and her family again but fallen trees had dangerously blocked her usual path. Before she had been cursing having to find another way around but now suddenly it did not seem quite so bad. Whoever this mare was she was certainly lovely. Intricate markings down her legs, an seemingly endless mane and tail, vibrant feathers...

As caught up in her observation as she was Ora did not notice she was being watched right away. Green eyes went wide when she noticed golden one's trying to catch hers. "I..uh...."

The other mare smiled then and Ora's heart started to beat faster. "Your home? I hope I'm not intruding." She had skipped past hello but the other mare, this taloned angel incarnate, did not seem to mind. She had simply shaken her head and turned, indicating that Ora follow along to her home proper. And there was no reason not to do so for the moment. If this did not end well she would worry about that when the time came.

No, she did not mind. Guests were always welcome in her home no matter the hour or weather.

During her adorable fumbling Nirmala had taken the opportunity to better examine her guest. The other female was larger than herself even counting wings, mane and tail. But she had a gentle countenance and expressive body language. That said she was very lovely and obviously also very interested. Being a curiosity was often the norm for Nirmala. She did not mind since it made getting to know someone else easier. She had a good feeling about this one too and those feelings always tended to be right.

"Might I ask your name?" First things second it seems this time.

Her home was a grove of carefully tended trees, with grass and flowers aplenty and briars just beyond the edge to deter anything troublesome. It had taken springs worth of work to properly cultivate it and encourage the flowers to grow. It has been well worth the effort and the appearance of one's home as as important as one's own appearance.

"Ora."

It was a well love and well taken care of home most certainly. Some of flowers around her weren't even from this area! The other mare must have traded for seeds with one of the traveling herds to create such a beautiful place. "Your home is amazing." The other mare seemed content to let her wander and look to her heart's content while she prepared things. "From the outside you would not even know all of this was here..." It would be difficult to see the flowers through the surrounding trees and thickets.

The other mare knew her name now, but Ora did not know hers. "What is your name?"

Better late than never?

"Nirmala, but I have been called Nimmi by some."

She carefully plucked a blue blossom from amidst the others and went to tuck it into Ora's mane. Nirmala was grateful that the other mare half knelt when she realized was she had meant to do so it was easy to tuck the flower in near the feathers by her face so it would not fall and get lost or trampled. Once the flower was secure she leaned close for a little longer and smiled again. "There is more to my home, if you would be interesting in seeing it?"

Best to let things flow and see where they led. But she was getting the impression this might be the first of many days to come.

"Nirmala." Nimmi was cute, but it made her seem diminutive - somehow less than what she was. This mare knew exactly what she was doing to Ora and seemed content to fan the flames of interest. Still, Ora was surprised when she lingered so close. Close enough that they might touch. "Yes....Yes, I would like that very much." It was hard to hide the fact that Nirmala had flustered her a bit.

Irierath would forgive her tardiness certainly, once she explained things. She was loathed give up such an exquisitely beautiful sight so soon.
