After his reunion with Talisia, Kian had made amends with others to become a better person. Even training alongside Eresin had taught the mischievous hybrid a bit more about kindness...to a degree. There was apparently still a lot more to be learned, but Kian just shrugged it off. To each their own~ It wasn't like he was going out on murdering sprees or anything of the like currently. That was an improvement correct? Definitely had to be and if anyone disagreed Kian would stare them down. Just view my past to see what you want unless you want a demonstration...sheesh. Everyone was just so demanding some days.

"Still to send me away like some pest." The tall male sighed dramatically before tying his long hair back into a ponytail that easily swung over his shoulder, "Go find yourself out in the world - go do something nice." He almost rolled his eyes at the memory of his mentor telling him such foolish things. More like it was a chance to give Eresin more time with his twin or to catch up in their magic levels. He had to give it to the other boy, he was getting better - but there was still a lot of things for him to learn. I could show him a thing or two, but I suppose Nerio wouldn't like my techniques. Kian smirked at the thought before passing by yet another groove of trees.

Traveling without a caravan to amuse him was rather boring. Who knew that the open road could be so quiet and...open? "If you're merciful gods send me something entertaining~" Joked Kian before he shuffled his satchel back on his shoulder, "Alright, alright." Time to go find something good to do out in the world to please the 'master'.

Finally. It had been a long journey, but she was finally there! A long, twisting, hilly, up and down, left and right journey. A journey from Oba to Jauhar and then to Tale. A journey that led her to meet new people, both good and bad. And now, the end was in sight! She'd finally crossed into Sauti lands!

Once she was certain that she'd gotten far enough, Rhonann paused and took a deep breath. Was this home? Had she grown up here? Did... did she have family here? So far, nothing was familiar or ringing metaphorical bells. Still, those she'd run into claimed she was clearly of the Sauti. Now, if only she had more memories returning. So far, all she had to go on was the memory of her brother...

Sighing, she resumed her trek. It felt like it'd been a long time since she'd woken up in that small hut. Now that she'd gone through Tale with only her spitorog Mush as company, only the one memory to return to her, and now not even a flicker of recognition.. she couldn't help feeling a tiny bit discouraged.

And some of those herbs would work wonders for the poultices he knew his twin made for healing. Kian's journey was slightly slowed as he continued to pluck at random plants here and there along the way. Not like Sauti was anything to truly excite the mage - he'd traveled far and wide too be too amazed by grass and trees. His lips pursed in a slight pout as he glanced around. Was it truly worth taking such a deserted path like this? No caravans to travel with, no villages to entertain him, not even a simple tavern along the way...just trees and grass.

"Meditation..." His brow creased slightly. Now that was something Eresin could continue to do for the both of them. Yet, as he reached out a hand to touch the tree the male did faintly smile. It wasn't that awful being out here like this. His mind, however, was still rolling about more recent events and the fact that so much darkness lingered around him. I suppose I may have pulled a few tricks here and there.. He had to chuckle a bit at some of the memories - especially concerning a certain girl. Now that was a fun one to mess around with.

For now though he had himself, his magic, and an instrument to keep him company. With that in mind Kian continued to move forward, but this time he would raise his ocarina to his lips and play a gentle melody that softly danced through the trees with the breeze.

She had put so much toward this journey. Rhonann sighed softly and pulled her canteen up for a sip of water. She then opened her pocket and dribbled a little water in for Mush to stay hydrated. Sauti wasn't exactly a land of moisture, but, for her, it was comfortable enough. Despite her time in Jauhar, her body didn't seem too inconvenienced by the climate change.

Taking out her map, she squinted at it to check her directions again. Now, the nearest town would be...

Music? She looked up from her map and looked around. Maybe she was about to come across a caravan! She could probably confirm things with them. It was time to meet some Sautians!

Of course, when she eventually made her way through the patch of trees and saw someone clearly not Sauti-born, she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand. Of all the people in these lands! How did she keep running into him?!

Her next impulse came with a grin though. She swung her crossbow around, notched a bolt, and took aim. "Head's up, you cretin!" she hollered in warning, pulling the trigger before her last word was even complete. After all, she was a fair fighter. What kind of person would she be if she ambushed without warning first?

He truly was finding this journey relaxing so far. Despite being boring at least the gentle wind and his music kept him company. It was even possible that he could truly begin to take the time to meditate...or not. Cursing softly, Kian barely dodged in time for the arrow to whiz past. Of course he wasn't going to allow his attack off that easily! Hands glowing the mage twisted on his heel to glance around as a wild wind brushed through.

Bitter and cold, almost as if a tad bit angry from being summoned, the wind shoved forward whoever it was that was in the trees. "Who?" He hissed through his teeth before recognition caused his frightening expression to shift into more of a surprised one, "You? Really?" Kian was glad he hadn't sent the arrow back to its owner in the way he had almost been tempted to. That could have been rather bad for his special friend. Instead he had to remember to lower his hand so that the abrupt breeze would stop and that the sharp ice spears hidden above in the trees would melt into a small shower of rain around them both.

Brushing back a wet strand of hair behind his ear, Kian moved forward towards Rhonann with a small grin. "You scared me. Who would have thought that we could meet here?" He tilted his head slightly, "Are you going to shoot at me again or confess that you've been following me this whole time? If you wanted to travel along I could have easily agreed to such a thing, Rho."

Damn! Miss!

And that only infuriated Rhonann further. Give her a practice challenge, and she was awesome! Put a person in front of her to battle though... Maybe she was too soft..?

As the sharp wind pressed against her back, she stepped boldly along with it, setting up another bolt as she did. "That's my question," she snarled. The fury on Kian's face did send a chill along her back, but she was angry, too! She raised her crossbow again, but paused at the shift in the air. The cold wind was replaced by what seemed to be a brief, freezing rain that temporarily stole her breath. It was too late to pull her hood up, goose bumps rising along her skin as her hair darkened with damp.

Magic.... Ugh. "Don't ya come near me!" she growled, giving her weapon a nudge up and down as though to remind Kian what she was holding. "I think I'd like ta shoot at ya again," she replied with heavy snarkiness in her voice. This man was infuriating! That damned cocky grin of his! Did he really think she wouldn't do it after everything he'd done? "No. I know I'd like ta." Pursing her lips, she cocked her aim down toward Kian's legs and fired the bolt.

"You really have a bad way of saying hello." Quipped Kian before he found himself facing another bolt. Seriously? This woman! Cursing quietly the hybrid took a step to the side before thinking...what if she did hit him? She might just tear him a new one, but his Rho wasn't a killer. Or was she? In less than a split second -considering the tiniest fragment of a second he had!- the male twisted just enough with a slight wind -caused by the hidden glow from the pendant at his neck- so that the bolt did slice through his pants, but not enough to do more than nick his leg.

But Kian was prepared for a good performance today, "Ouch!" Giving Rhonann the most pitiful of looks the male twisted so that he was sitting on the ground with his hands around the 'injury'. "Go ahead..." He looked at her with the most sorrowful of gazes, "If you're wanting to be done with it you've already taken one leg...do you want more?"

Dramatically he glanced away towards the sky, "I just reformed and found my sister...but if you're wanting to end things then I understand." He peeked back towards her, half expecting another bolt to actually go through him -this was a gamble for sure! ...save for perhaps the faintest glowing of a rune hidden in his sash...but she didn't know about that last resort of course.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 25, 2016 2:55 pm

When the bolt actually made contact, she was dismayed to feel her own surprise. Sure, she hadn't been doing well in battles, but she also hadn't been actually trying to hurt anyone. This was different! The sorrowful and pained looks she got only served to infuriate her further. "Don't patronize me, ya big oaf!"

She actually did reload and point the weapon again before the man's words made her hitch. Sister... Wait. Reformed? "Doubt it," she grumped. Instead of firing, the crossbow went down and her fist struck out instead. The idea to just bludgeon him with the crossbow had flitted through her mind, but she didn't want to damage her weapon.

Alright so much for attempting to get pity from the girl. Frowning, Kian pursed his lips at her. "Wasn't patronizing...just trying to be sincere." His gaze flickered away with the pout. What a frustrating woman. Always prone to violence and anger over there. I didn't do thaaat much to her. Honestly, he could have done so much worse but he had kept it to a certain level of...mercy?

And there came the bolts...

Blinking, Kian was surprised when she changed her attack pattern. As her fist came towards his face the hybrid actually didn't know how to react until after the fact. At the impact he winced with the slight pain before gritting his teeth in frustration, "Now...you look here." Even though his head was pounding the male reached up in one -slightly sorta- smooth movement so that he could grab the arm at fault. His long fingers gripped tightly as he suddenly pulled her forward and onto the ground with him.

"If you would just take a moment to listen instead of going straight to assaulting me we would get so much further in life. So can we just talk this once?" Protested Kian as he wrapped his arms around her to try and hold her in place on top of him. As he peered up towards her face -only a few inches apart due to his iron grip on the girl- he did have to blink. "Why look at that you do have some rather pretty eyes..." Though with the comment he made certain to try and crane his head back a bit away from her, "Don't you dare hit me for that one either, I swear." It was almost like an afterthought, but who could forget the girl's tendency to headbutt her violator? It took almost a whole day to get the impression of those forehead gems to get off of his face last time!

Of course it didn't help when he had to smirk slightly at their closeness. Now if she would rather do other things than talk at this rate maybe I'd listen... Though saying such an idea out loud would gladly lead probably more violence and a good headache as well.

As her fist met solidly with its target, Rhonann's mouth split into a satisfied grin. "Ha!" Ooooh~ he even sounded irritated! What a nice change.

Of course, her little victory didn't last long. When that strong grip took her arm, she instinctively tried to yank back. The damp earth was just enough to make using force difficult, making her feet slide and her body topple. Of course, she squirmed and kicked at first. Something about his voice though.. It wasn't as sarcastic or snarky as usual.

She paused her struggle for just a moment; and just in time to have her eyes complimented. While those blue eyes narrowed with frustration, her cheeks flared dark pink. If she didn't hate his guts, this might almost have been... cute. Blushing hotter at the thought, she shook her head roughly. "Talk? Ye serious? As if I'd believe a word outta yer mouth," she growled. "Now lemme go before I bite yer face!" She snapped her teeth at him for effect. She didn't think she'd actually do such a thing, but who knew with this guy~

He was smirking?! Oooooh, she just might bite.....

Despite his best efforts to remain serious the urge to tease the wind girl was always so strong, "Bite my face? Lips maybe...but truly you shouldn't be proposing such things to a man in the middle of nowhere." Before she had much time to react Kian wiggled until he flopped them over so that he was straddling the girl. A helpful wind courtesy of some glowing runes -totally cheating of him, but a man has to do what a man has to do right?- forced Rho to stay down while he made certain to keep a good grip on both of her wrists.

Sighing, Kian glanced down at her. "Really though. I'm trying to be sincere here, but you make it so hard." Some stray bangs hung down around his face as he glanced at her. It had taken some obvious effort to get into this position and the hybrid was determined to keep it. Like trying to ride a wild janarim over here! Not that he blamed her - before she was often inclined to listen to him and therefore easily was manipulated into his traps. Yet now that he was trying to be sincere his words were biting back at him as it seemed this time she truly was on guard around the mischievous mage.

"Look here, woman." Kian tried his hardest to keep his voice calm and even despite their struggle, "I'm trying to be a nice guy because I have gone through some serious things and I'm out here to do some good this time. Can't I offer to help you since you're out here...have you even regained your memories? Do you even know Sauti like I do?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 25, 2016 6:59 pm

Bite his lips? What did- Oh, she was going to bite for sure!

Rho actually did bite at Kian's face, but it was in the middle of being flipped, which threw her aim off. Her face flushed even deeper in this new position, angry and embarrassed to have fallen prey to the man once again. Of course she still kicked, trying to knock her knees against Kian's back with varying results. "Yeah, well, accordin' ta ye, talkin' ain't the only thing I make hard fer ya," she snarked back... though her spoken words were much less insulting than they had sounded in her head. ...Maybe he didn't hear it?

Lips pressed tight, she kept her face turned away, staring hard out along the horizon rather than up at the man. "A guy tryin' ta do right would accept his punishment fer bein' a pain before," she huffed stubbornly. He remembered why she would be out here... That wasn't sweet!! "I got a map. Now git off so I can be on my way."

Kian just blinked at Rhonann's taunt. You know what...to save the situation I'll just ignore that. Though the faintest of smirks did linger on his face as he had to shove several remarks to the back of his mind, Nope, nope. "Just life in general you mean." He settled with as he studied her snarling face. Seriously, if this woman would stop snarling to actually smile for once...she'd be rather pretty. Telling her such a thing probably would only result in another knock to the head, however, so Kian amazingly managed to once more keep his mouth shut.

"I did for a bit." He replied with slight surprise in his voice, "What taking an arrow to the knee wasn't enough?" Shaking his head the mage sighed at her protest, "A map won't teach you much of anything. I'm better than any map, Rho. I've spent years traveling from village to village out here. I can tell you the settlements better than some flat thing with squiggly lines." He paused thoughtfully almost as if rolling about the argument in his mind, "Sincerely though I know I've pulled some pranks on you, but this will be an attempt to make peace - if not make up for them. I can be your guide out here and help you on your way." He grinned, "I have to be in this area for a bit as it is so rather than us always stumbling into each other like this we can actually travel together for once. No potions this time either, promise...though I do think they still helped a bit with your current situation."

Glancing down at her with the most sincere gaze he could manage Kian nodded as if to confirm his words, "If you don't trust me then you can trust my honor on my bond with my twin. This will one of the many things to help appease my conscious so I can easily return to her as a good person rather than someone stained in sins."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 25, 2016 8:18 pm

Yes! He missed it! ....Maybe she was the only one who thought it sounded wrong? Well, that was fine!

"Ye did not," she scoffed. "It didn't stick in yer knee, an' I only got one punch on ya. Didn't even break a tooth outta that hole." She was certain he would at least bruise from the punch... but she definitely desired to get at least ten more solid punches in.

She was trying to focus on the thought of making Kian's nose bleed rather than his words, but she couldn't help hearing them. Make peace? Yeah. More like he'd get her even more lost, and one day she'd wake up and he'd be gone like the other times! ..No matter which way she answered, he was going to be able to bother her whether she wanted it or not. To her, the choices were to either let him go along and wait until she got left behind, or go off on her own and be paranoid about when she'd bump into him again.

Twin? Two of them running around! Gods, save the land... Her jaw clenched tight, hands squeezed into tight fists. He sounded so passionate.. but he'd done nothing but lie to her from the moment they met; save for the moments he revealed he'd been lying. She couldn't trust him...

"So what else ya plannin' fer redeemin' yerself?" she inquired rather snarkily. She wanted to believe him... and was frustrated that she couldn't. "How about makin' letting me up one of them things?"

Kian's expression was deadpan as he glanced down at the girl, "You do know that an arrow can still cut without having to stick in the skin, right? So it's not like it didn't do any damage." He frowned, "Seriously, you truly are a rather violent creature at times. Does the image of harming me truly entice you so much?"

He noticed the tense shift in the girl trapped beneath him and a crease furrowed his concerned brow. What was the idea of him wishing to help her such a terrible thing? And here he was being completely....well mostly sincere for his part. "Couldn't helping you find your memories be a good redemption? Gods, if you're so obsessed with smacking me around a bit then I'll even let you get one attempt a day at fighting me in if wanted." He couldn't help teasing, "Fighting though can go in many ways~"

At her suggestion Kian raised an eyebrow, "You think letting you up is a good idea? Even if you consider it 'one of them things' I have to know that you won't try giving me another bolt or head slam -since you're rather fond of that one as well." He leaned closer to study her, "Honestly, I'm rather enjoying the view I'm getting right now. It's nice to see you without having to dodge for my life for once.Someone might consider you pretty if you weren't so hell bent on inflicting damage all the time~" His whispered observation tickled her ear before he finally let go of her arms and rolled over so that he could stand away from her.

Brushing the dirt from his clothing, the mage casually glanced over towards his companion -if she would ever be willing to be called that, more like prisoner currently. Not that he minded of course. As long as he could just get the stubborn girl to agree to behave. I suppose that means I should behave too...we'll see. Waiting Kian motioned his hand in a wave. "Come on then. Tell me where you are wanting to head and I can try to get us there without much worry."
