Jolanta made sure that everything that he might need for today was in order twice over before he left the house. He had his wooden sword on his back, of course, but aside from that he had a pack slung over one shoulder that was filled with supplies. He had a basic first aid kit, two water skins full of pure drinking water, and some dried food rations. He'd learned that it was best to be prepared for anything, especially when those he wanted to protect were concerned. If they wanted a drink, a snack, got a scrape, needed him to fend off a wild beast, he was ready for anything.
Giving a humming sound he shifted from foot to foot, getting used to the extra weight of his filled pack before hurrying on his way. He had to get to the Sanctum, quickly, making sure that he was there as early as possible. He was told that someone might be interested in using him as an escort today and it was kind of exciting really. For the most part he ran a lot of errands for those who had far more important things to do then go to go on such errands. He was fine with that, wanting to help out anywhere that he could. Errands was the least that he could do for those who lived in the Sanctum after all.
Once he left the house Jolanta ran along the path that would take him to where the Sanctum was located as quickly as his feet would take him. The sooner he got there the better because he'd be ready to wait for his charge for the day whenever he or she showed up.

She'd told her mentor that she had wanted to travel to the shore to collect more of the ingredients that they were running out of and in return was told to take someone with her. So Fallon had asked for an escort to take her there. It was all arranged by the sanctum so she had no idea who would be going with her. A thought of Tacrith popped into mind but she dismissed it quickly. Long travels were not meant for someone with an old injury.
Wanting to get an early start she managed to do her morning routine sooner then finished putting her hair up as she reached the main gate. Slung on one arm was her usual basket. It was empty of course. Then she stood and peered out to see if her companion was there and ready to go.

As someone appeared at the main gate of the Sanctum he turned around, giving the woman a glance, finding her to be a lot younger then those that he normally dealt with. For the most part it was older priestesses and priests that would appear, giving him a list of things that they needed, and then he was off. Today it seemed that he was going to be dealing with someone that appeared to be around the same age as him. Walking over to her, though keeping what he felt was a polite distance, he said, "Good morning, Priestess, my name is Jolanta. I will be your escort for as long as you need me."
After giving a bow of his head he continued, "You need only tell me where you're wanting to go and I will see you there." This was exciting, but it didn't show on his face. He looked to be at this moment to be quite serious about this entire endeavor. Nothing was more important then making sure that she was kept safe after all. As such he couldn't allow himself to let his excitement over getting to escort her around to go to his head. Instead his mind had to stay clear so that he could be in good form.
"So, Priestess, where are we heading?" He asked of her, curious as to where they would be heading. To the market place, perhaps?

When she was called priestess she held her hands up and smiled as her cheeks and ears turned colors. "I'm not a priestess just yet. Please call me Fallon." with that out of the way she adjusted her basket and watchwatched him bow. He seemed so serious.
Still she did owe him an explanation as to where they would be going. With her free hand she managed to push some bangs away from her face. "I wanted to go to the shore. There are some things there I am looking for." Mostly she was after some kelp, sea stars, and a bit of abalone. Though if she could find other things she would be happy to pick them up.

She wasn't a priestess yet? Ah, so she must be in training then just as he was? It was an interesting thought to consider, though he'd do so at a later time, when he wasn't with the priestess in training he told himself. As she told her to call her 'Fallon' he blinked a couple of times and said, "Miss Fallon then." He wasn't going to call her by name, not when that wasn't as polite as he should be with someone of her station. Priestess or Priestess in training, either way he meant to server her, and that meant remembering where both of them stood in life.
"The shore?" He found himself asking, one ear giving a slight twitch as thought about that. He knew how to get to the shore, had been there a couple of times during his training with his Aunt Vae, but to go that far with a priestess in training? That was a daunting task but one that showed that surely the Sanctum was starting to trust him, right? It was something that pleased him greatly on the inside though his outer expression didn't change. Instead he gave a nod of his head and said, "To the shore then. Don't worry, Miss Fallon, I will keep you safe during our venture to the shore."
With a motion of his hand he started forward, walking at a polite distance just ahead of her, taking point. If anything were to jump out as they walked it would be him between the danger and the priestess in training, as it should be.

Since jolanta tacked a 'miss' in front of her name she seemed to blink a few times. That was a first for her. Still, Fallon didn't correct him as it was likely his way of showing respect. Instead she smiled at him as sweetly as she could. "Thank you."
Her head bobbed slightly with a nod when he questioned the location she'd given. Thankfully no explanation was needed as Jolanta took point. Happy to be on their way she fell in line behind him. Of course her eyes remained mostly on him, or his backside, as they walked.

The distance between Pajore and the shore that they were heading to felt as though it were so much further away now that he had a priestess in training to protect. He also found himself thinking about all of the various dangers that he would need to keep an eye out for between here and their destination as well as at the shore itself. There were various types of wild beasts, the outsiders, the mainlanders, sharp rocks, deep water, and many other things. He would need to remain on high alert to make sure that Miss Fallon was kept safe from everything else the Sanctum would never trust him to help out again. Giving the you woman a glance as she thank him he shook his head, "No thanks are needed, Miss Fallon. My duty is to the Sanctum and those who live within. If I can be of assistance then I am more then happy to do whatever is needed of me." He told her, wanting her to know that he was here no matter what she might need both now and in the future.

When Jol turned back to look at her she lifted her eyes from his backside to his face. Hearing him say that he was happy to serve the Sanctum made her smile at him happily. "How kind of you." Of course she had heard that there were those that weren't priests or priestesses that still served the Sanctum but she never knew how. Until today.
Jolanta was the first person she had met that was like that. Moving forward to catch up to him she'd place a hand on his shoulder. "Lurin is thoughtful to give you to me." Fallon meant as an escort but she didn't say those words thinking that it was obvious. After that she removed her hand and continued to walk behind Jol.

Jolanta's ears seemed to darken a little as she referred to him as being kind and that Lurin had been thought give Jolanta to Fallon. Not something that he would have claimed himself, not thinking that highly of himself, but he was glad to be able to help her out. Giving her hand a glance where it sat on his shoulder his ear twitched before he said, "Thank you for your kind words, Miss Fallon." As her hand withdrew he started forward again, looking from side to side, before he continued on. He was being careful when it came to their journey and at one point he even paused, one had hovering over his sword, as there was some rustling in the brush alongside the path. Immediently he was ready for whatever it was that might be trying to start trouble... only to watch as a tintural went walking passed in front of them. He lowered his arm to one side, watching the colorful reptile as it went, "Nothing to worry about, just one of those odd herb turtles."

She watched as his ears seemed to take on a darker tint. Fallon hadn't meant to make him feel uncomfortable. Though she managed to nod her head when he thanked her. "You're welcome, Jola." She shortened his name only because he had started forward again and she didn't want to be left behind. When he stopped and seemed ready to attack something Fallon almost ran into him. The young priestess in training managed to stop only inches from him and blinked before looking toward the noise in the bush. While Jol thought it was some dangerous thing she was leaning to the side to look around him and see. As the tintural moved out of cover and onto the path she giggled. "Aren't they cute?"

Jola? He blinked a couple times but said nothing, feeling that if the priestess in training wanted to give him a nickname then who was he to complain? He didn't mind as he doubted that it would really catch on, right? What if it did though? Would people take him seriously as a paladin if he were to end up with a pet name? Since it was a priestess in training that gave him the name it should be alright... she was among those that he wanted to serve after all. He just had to make sure that it was only Fallon, and maybe the others he served, that used such a name. If that was what he did then it should be alright for her to call him by such a name. Glancing at the turtle he tilted his head to one side, looking as though he were studying it for a while, before he finally said, "I... suppose that it can be seen as cute." It wasn't exactly what he'd call cute but he could see how others might see it as such. A girl especially since this one was covered in various types of flowers and its own color was leaning toward a light, muted purpled, "Just don't get too close, they might bite." Best that she stayed outside of it's personal space so that she didn't run the risk of the creature biting or scratching her.

She grabbed hold of his arm and came to stand beside him. "I would love to have one as a familiar some day." Fallon watched the tintural for a bit longer, still smiling. When it was almost out of sight she let out a small wanting sigh. "Maybe when I make it to Acolyte status." Letting go of Jolanta's arm she started to walk again, forgetting that he wanted to take the lead. Fallon was busy thinking of what she would name her familiar once she had it. After all, it had to be a name fitting for a creature that lived in the sanctum. Since she wasn't paying attention she managed to get her dress snagged by a briar bush. "Oh.." Her sliver gaze dropped down to see how bad it was the same time as her hand came to help untangle it.

"Oh? Hm... I could see them as being useful for those who could make use of their herbs." He found himself instantly wondering if her mentioning that she would 'love to have one' was a subtle nudge that she wanted a tintural. Should he see about catching such a creature for the priestess in training? He would have to see about doing that... for when she became an Acolyte if he was able to. It would be a good congratulatory gift. Looking over the priestess he gave her a glance then said, "If we find a tame one then perhaps you can see it but for now its best to leave the feral ones to go about their business." Whatever sort of business that a tintural had to go about that was. "Ah! Wait!" As the girl got herself tangled Jolanta's eyes went wide before he rushed forward to help her, "Here, I will get it. I wouldn't want you to scrape up your hands on these thorns, Miss Fallon."

She hadn't thought about using the herbs on the tintural. Fallon wondered if the Sanctum had those in store and if so what they did. That was definitely something she would need to look into when she returned. If they were needed then she would see about obtaining one. When her escort rushed forward saying that he would get her unstuck so she didn't scrape her hand she turned her head to look at him. "But.. it's just a thorn bush, Jola. It's not going to maul me." Fallon giggled and tried to pull one part of the bush from her dress. While she was thankful that Jolanta was willing to help she didn't think something so simple needed his attention.

Jolanta shook his head, "It doesn't matter if its a thorn bush or a limabra, I will be here to help you to deal with the dangers." He gave her a nod before he set to work helping her to get free of the thorn bush that she'd gotten herself tangled up in. He got a couple of pokes and scrapes but it was well worth it as he was able to save Fallon. It was a small victory but one that pleased him nevertheless. "Alright, there you go. We will be careful and stick to the middle of the path so that you won't risk getting tangled up again." He told her, pushing up to his feet once more, before he glanced around the area. It would see as though nothing had taken advantage of the fact that Fallon was entangled to try to sneak up on them. Good, that meant that nobody was going to bother them on their walk. At least that was what he was hoping for. "I can smell the ocean on the wind, it seems that we are getting close." He informed Fallon, wanting her to know that they were getting close to where she'd requested to go.
