Colleen was patient as she placed the peice of hematite on the shelf. Crystals decorated the room, in a circular, almost gridlike pattern, a wand stone in Colleen's hand. A stick of Incense awaited burning in a corner. Various gaming objects littered the room, and Colleen breathed in the spicy air from the kitchen, cinnamon tea browing and strong licorice cookies awaiting her.
She had enjoyed a six hour shift to cover a coworker at the gaming store and she felt somewhat oversocialized. A small fountain on a table poured water and Colleen pushed her chair in in her study before inhaling deeply, as she began to 'connect' the gridof crystals with her wand.
Oh, she knew it may simply be the placebo effect. She didn't dare think she knew it all; nobody did; but the act was centering, soothing and calming. Perhaps it was because it was repetative; it stilled her thoughts and calmed nerves. And if so, that in itself was healing enough. The grid in place in her mind, she lit her incense, and sat upon the cushion on her floor, eyes closing as she tried to begin emptying her mind.
The babbling fountain continued to hum, the whirr of the pump coming into it's own. The hum of electricity around her informed her she was in civilization, as it travelled up and down the walls. She continued to relax, mind blank before sound drifted away and she entered a calm state. She felt tension slip away with the wisps of smoke from her stick of Rain incense, she felt the light begin prickling in windiws as the afternoon advanced.
It was after an hour, closer to three, that Colleen moved. The tea was brewed and the cookies had cooled. The woman rose, incense out, and walked to the kitchen, feeling calmer and more at peace as she poured a cup into a small china glass, and placed a couple licorice cookies on a plate, before walking to sit at a table with them both.
It was quiet, and Colleen dipped a cookie in her tea, savoring her snack with each bite as she thought, looking to neat bookshelves with the occasional statuette or sculpture and crystal, and after finishing, she took her plate and cup in to wash, before, once they were washed and set to dry, she began browsing the books neatly. Fingers skipped covers until she found what she sought, and neatly withdrew the book, studying it before opening the book.
"Alright," She murmured to herself. "Game night. I left them in a new country with new things to explore and try, and they're being tracjed by the Lord of Shadowdragons." She murmured. She flipped open the book, and studied the table of contents. "So how shall I invoke terror? The Wails of the Lost Souls? The Army of Wraiths?" She mused, tapping her chin. "Invite the troll over early for some baddy planning to scare them? Maybe I'll attack them with a Darkness beig. God knows the mage is getting too full of himself."
She smiled, now refreshed of her stresses, and turned to walk for the kitchen to prepare dip and snacks for the gaming session to come in her home that night. Food was always welcome, and once she could, candles, to make it... Atmospheric.
"Yes, I think I shall mess with all three the next few weeks... They'll never see it coming."
And with that, she moved to work, humming as she planned.
