Sabia`deimos was awake before the others - she watched for a time as the small chests around her rose and fell in a rhythem that seemed soothing, but she just couldn't convince herself to get back to sleep. Instead all she could think of were the times she had spent with her Daddy. The times were treasured memories for her, most were of hunting, tracking and weird questions, but they were thinsg she was beginning to get used and even begin to admire. This was her normal and though she had kept their outings a secret the others had questioned here and there. Her disappearances weren't going unnoticed, but nor did anyone truly care where abouts she had gone off to in the middle of the day or night.
Tonight was no different. Golden eyes turned up to the sky and began attempting to count the stars, those beautiful pure white balls seemed to almost dance as she moved her head. She was amused, though briefly, by this. Once the amusement wore off she stood, slowly, quietly and successfully maneuvering herself through her brothers and sisters. This was becoming a practiced talent of the escape artist and she took pride in her ability to leave behind the sleeping bundles. Now, she had to get away, this was the part she did with the most concentration - a twig, a leaf, anything could set off her Mother whom she had noted was nearby. If she even so much as touched a noisy item her evening would be cut short and she would also be given a lecture.
Paw step after paw step she left the small clearing, something she hadn't really noticed. Where the cubs slept wasn't used as their play area, most often they moved away from that area and found some trees to play in and among. So to see the clearing from afar was something new, not necessarily vital to know about, but she found it fascinating. The lack of idea about it was just proof of her recent times away, often spending hours with her Father. That was in fact her current goal - recently she felt close with him, sure he wouldn't go near her, often shoving her to the side 'gently' or simply avoiding her. That didn't disturb her though, Sabia was still very much enjoying the time with him, enjoying what he had to say, often taking them to heart and treasuring them. Some were things she would never forget in fact.
"Daddy?" Her tiny voice called out as she began to find his scent trail, she knew that she was nearby him now. The silence was almost deafening though as she tried to listen for soft breathing or anything for that matter. "Daddy?" She called out again. Silence. A look of pure sadness clouded the excitement that once lit up her eyes. Never had she attempted visiting her Father during the evenings and so she wasn't sure where to begin with her search, but it didn't take much to find the sleeping form of her parent. "Daddy." She whispered happily, greeting the slumbering beast while his chest rose and fell in a silent pattern. He heaved a deep sigh in his sleep, almost as though he recognized her words, but instead of opening his eyes he shifted around and presented her with an opportunity, unbeknownst to him.
Sabia moved forward, slowly, quietly and almost in a nervous fashion - this was all very new and she wasn't sure what to expect. She got close to him and cuddlded right up to his chest, once she leaned against him a heavy paw dropped, covering her in an almost protective way. He held her tight and suddenly she felt the safe love her heart needed.
The morning came to soon and with it came the shock of a small body pressed to his chest. Angra moved slowly with an unsurity he had never felt before. "What is this?" He grumbled, clearly agravated by his over night guest. "What does she think she is doing?" He spoke, mostly to himself, but was greeted with a stretch from his daughter and golden eyes that peered up at him. Then she had the nerve to press in closer. "Sabia, what are you doing here?" His question came out as a demand, he was unimpressed and showed this by standing without allowing her to move which caused the small body to tumble free from him. She landed with an oof and her eyes began to wet. "You're going to cry?"
"Good morning Daddy." Sabia mustered, eyes welling up with tears that she just couldn't control. Why was he behaving this way? Her heart broke with his reactions and harsh words. This wasn't what she had expected - where had the pride in his facial features gone? Where had his near happy tones gone? "I just wanted to rest with you Daddy." She lowered her head, eyes to the ground and body shrinking. "Well." He paused briefly. "Why would you think to do that?" His tone was calloused, there was no way he was interested in this kind of relationship. "I-I don't know." Her voice had become a squeak. "I do not want to see you again here without my say so. You do not come and see me, do not approach me. I do not want to see you."
That was it, tears rolled free from her eyes. She blinked several times peering up at what once had been her idol, her mentor. "What?" She managed she get out. "What do you mean, Daddy?" Her words were just as broken as her heart felt, pain soared through her every limb and reached her head. The whole thing just felt unreal. All of her memories were tainted. "Fine. I don't want to see you either!"
Soon the small figure was scampering away leaving a very angry lion behind. This wasn't what he had wanted - he didn't want the cubs to come near him in this way, didn't want them to touch him or get close. They were fodder in his mind, nothing more than a means to a end. So to have them approach him in such a way was simply weird, wrong and a waste of time. There was no need for it. So as he watched her run off he disconnected himself any form of feeling he had for the litter was disabled, or so he figured. That was his attempt at removing his emotions from the situation. It was clear that his childhood had tainted his ability to create relationships and the only ones hurt by it were his cubs.
