Lady Azurite was a complete pain. A curse to her existence. The source of her seething anger and desire to turn, run, and never look back. It seemed her escape to Earth would take longer than anticipated, as she'd been so intolerably busy that she hadn't time to converse with another gem at all.
This time, it seemed her mistress had turned her little note exchange into a game. Slivers of paper would be hidden in the most unintelligible of places; under vases, high into the eaves of the ceilings, into cracks, once even in the curls of a quartz, but they were all places that required a keen mind to find. The only clue to a note's location would be a whispered hint from one gem to another. Azurite would receive many clues, but she hadn't the forethought to search for them. Instead, she would impart her pearl with the clue and then send her off to do the foot work.
This clue led her to the upper spires of Blue Diamond's court. In this case, one of the library wings. The clue imparted was a vague little riddle: I am between the past and the future, above the present, and beneath history. Where am I? Immediately, Pearl thought of a book, but it seemed she had quite the variety to look through considering the bookcases in this wing rose up to the ceiling.
"My matriarch, give me strength," she cried as she wheeled over one of the shelf ladders. "I do not have patience for this today."

Thoughts: When will this be over?
Inventory Pearl was unattended outside of a meeting room. Quite a few upper crusts were inside, discussing plans of attack. From what she had gathered, there are a few planets worth going to, but they are inhabited by beings capable of fighting. Not that it was any of her business. She was made for opening doors, holding items in her gem, keeping things tidy, and other things of the sort.
She considered herself somewhat lucky for a pearl. Other pearls were made for social gatherings, entertainment. The idea of making gems laugh was a curiosity to her. Her purpose was straightforward, clear cut. Dancing and singing was not so.
Pearl looked down the empty hall. Usually, there were other pearls to keep her company, though, the majority were normally just as silent as the corridor she was in. She worried about a gem walking down this way. Harassing lone pearls was entertainment for many, and others took it upon themselves to question why she was there. She must look suspicious, after all. Imagine a pearl coming to a spire by itself to peruse the extensive collection of knowledge...
A deep exhale.
Pearl turned from the closed doors and took a few steps towards the windows, gazing upon the scenery below. She spotted the sentries, quartz soldiers, guarding the Temple off in the distance. Not far from there was an arena, a variety of gems were hurrying over to see the next fight, some toting along pearls of there own.

Rhodolite wasn't doing much, only sneaking around searching for some information that he might not know of, like a plan for the earth or something more sinister. Either way he was going to get some form of info. After a while he got bored of doing that. He wanted action or someone to chat with, which didn't happen at first, at least until he saw a pearl that was what looked like she was all alone. Finally, a way to get some info and something to do other than waiting around and doing nothing. With that, he approached them, mainly curious why this Homeworld pearl was alone. Surely she had an owner. "Hi there. What's a pearl like you doing here all alone? Don't you have a master to go to? Or are you those kinds of pearls that don't have one?" he asked the pearl curiously.

Inventory As Pearl was lost in her own thoughts, she didn't even notice another presence approach her. She gasped, startled and turned to face the offender. It was a...a rhodolite? In a spire? Pearl straightened out, preparing for the worst. She had left her post, after all, even though it was only a few mere feet away.
"I....I'm waiting for my Gem who's inside."
The gem looked absolutely uncomfortable, even while doing her best to look presentable to the higher class. She didn't see many soldier class gems face to face. Her Gem had taken her along to watch fights in the arenas before, a show of Homeworld's strength and strategy. Pearl wondered if this rhodolite was just as lethal. She shivered involuntarily.

He smiled and chuckled to him this seemed pretty funny. He saw no reason for the pearl to try to fix how they looked,to him she looked just fine. hey now don't act like you just saw a diamond i'm not that important so how about you just calm down? He grabbed the pearl's arm in an attempt to relax them.

Inventory Pearl felt her face flush as her nerves started to get the best of her. She hadn't said anything funny, so she wasn't sure why this gem was laughing. Maybe the rhodolite was laughing at her. Was it because she was visibly anxious? It did make her more of an easy target, Pearl imagined.
So busy swimming in her thoughts, she reacted to the gems grab with a jarring flinch, as if he was about to hit her. For all she knew, he was. After realizing he didn't, Pearl was even more self conscious.
"I'm sorry" She tried to pose in a more comfortable position to please him. One of her legs crossed behind the other as she folded her hands in front of her. "Is this better?" She tilted her head at him.

Rhodolite smiles a bit to him this seems pretty adorable the way the pearl is blushing, just how shy she seems is more than enough for him to think that this situation is cute. He stared briefly at the pearls gem he never encountered a pearl before so he had many questions to ask. I hope you don't mind me asking but how is it like being a pearl? he asked curiously.

Inventory The gem's question absolutely floored her. No one asked for her insight on anything before. Why would this soldier gem need to know any information from a pearl, unless that pearl was being sent as a messenger? It simply didn't make any sense.
Still, she had to answer. There was no telling if the rhodolite would turn on her if she refused.
"It doesn't matter how I feel about it. Tomorrow and tomorrow after that will be the same regardless how I feel about my position." She paused before adding, "Though, I do feel things. I'm aware of how gems treat me differently because I am a pearl."

He looked at her with a bit of a confused expression "well i wouldn't treat you differently because your a pearl why would gems do such a thing?" Since it was his first encounter with a pearl there was no way he would know much about one let alone how they are treated.

Inventory Another strange question. It seemed obvious to her, as it was how it always has been. It never occurred to her to ask for reason.
"I don't understand," she started. "Every gem has their place. Mine just happens to be at the bottom. It's the way of the Authority, yes? Pearls are not useful on our own, so we serve as a symbol of status for others....or rather, we serve as property so there is no need for us to have other uses." She paused, starting to wonder if the gem had only asked as a form of trickery or amusement. It wouldn't exactly be a new form of harassment. Some gems find it funny to engage pearls in conversation, try to confuse them or make them anxious.|♥| ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬•♥ ✖ ♥• ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬|♥|

Rhodolite looked at the pearl's expression and was a little puzzled himself. The only kind of pearls he saw was in the rebellion and they are great for combat so he wondered why home world wouldn't let them fight. They would surely be great with proper training. "well to me you seem pretty nice i don't get why they do that for power or status but your worth it don't let anyone push you around" He tried his best to sound inspiring he probably did bad though but he tried.

Inventory Pearl looked visibly surprised by this. She glanced down one end of the hall to the other, then looked back upon the gem. Luckily, it was just them around. Imagine if a great thinker heard them. They both would be reported.

Rhodolite smiled he thought it was nice that she told him that because to him it sounded that she generally liked him well at least to him. alright well can you tell about yourself please? i really wanna know more about you.He said happily he didn't want to keep talking about the almost being shattered for talking to her in that way it bothered him.

Inventory Finally a normal question. Pearl straightened out to give him a proper answer.
"Facet-2H1S Cut 1XC. My main function is to keep my Gem's items where they belong and organize her schedule. I do whatever else she asks of me as well."
