This is the site that houses available soldier class gems. Within this area is a battle arena that gems may use for training purposes, a weapons armory, and gemsmith. The battle area is completely equipped to simulate all weather and terrain, making it the perfect place to harness your skills for battle off planet. For gems that wish to wield stronger weapons that don't need summoning, the weapons armory is the place to go. Many find these weapons an advantage on the battlefield. When these weapons get damaged, or when a gem wants a custom made weapon, the gemsmith is at your disposal.

SPINEL cerтιғιed proѕpecтorx♢ Mood Annoyedxxxxxxxxxxx♢ Location The Barracksxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx♢ Company ObsidianThe Barracks were as busy as ever, full of tall, broad shouldered soldiers as well as the more compact ones used for fusion. Some were in groups doing their drills while their commander barked at them, while others brawled and trained. Spinel was less than enthused. She loathed this place. Everyone was so sweaty and loud, and even the best soldiers were hardly any good to talk to. Of course, it was part of the grooming process. These gems had to be unquestioning war machines. But, could it shatter anyone to give them an ounce of intelligence? Spinel eyed a group of rubies making their way towards the gemsmith. She tsked at them, beckoning. "I need three of you," she stated flatly. "Come with me."The rubies looked at each other uneasily before deciding which of the three should go along. She bothered to glance at Obsidian as she hovered towards the training arena, making sure she followed. "These three fused together should be challenging enough." Spinel made her way to the controls, using her claws to quickly change the settings. The floor of the area started to morph, the ground became uneven, rocky. "Or is this too difficult for you?", condescending tone barely hidden.

... She was questioning her capabilities by using Rubies? Obsidian shattered the temporary Pad, the gems retreating into the ground, as she replied with a confused, 'Seriously?'She sparred with Rubies for fun, not to prove a point. They were kinda stocky and easy to dance around. Plus, they got confused really quickly. It was almost funny to watch them try and follow her movements.

SPINEL cerтιғιed proѕpecтorx♢ Mood ---xxxxxxxxxxx♢ Location The Barracksxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx♢ Company ObsidianThe gem was quietly pleased with Obsidian's reaction. So, the builder wanted more of a challenge. Spinel was happy to oblige. Without looking away from her, she tapped at the controls. The arena quickly reacted, steam shooting out from cracks that were forming in the ground. Before long, the air within was thick, not unlike fog. "I know you all can withstand high temperatures," she started. "But this ought to make things more interesting."Spinel finally acknowledged the rubies. "Why don't you three take a head start?" They barked out a "yes, ma'am" in unison then ran inside the arena into the shroud of steam. A faint glow could be observed in the distance as a result of their fusion. Spinel then glanced over at the remaining gem. "Ready?"

Obsidian drew her shortsword out. 'Are we allowed to destroy corporeal forms?' was her only response. Surprisingly, it sounded less serious and more a ditzy or curious form of inquiry.

"How else would you win?"Spinel peered at the thick air, knowing the rubies were lurking somewhere inside. "Better not keep them waiting," she said dryly.

"Didn't realize this was a contest," Obsidian chirped, spinning her sword carefree as she entered in too. Remember the moves and you'll make it, Siddy. OK? OK. Good.

SPINEL cerтιғιed proѕpecтorx♢ Mood ---xxxxxxxxxxx♢ Location The Barracksxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx♢ Company ObsidianSpinel chuckled lightly at Obsidian's expense. This wasn't a contest...this was a test. If the gem couldn't defeat a few rubies, then she was really going to need a body guard. The technician didn't offer anymore words of advice nor ridicule as the other went off into battle. The arena was eerily quiet, the rubies were clearly trying to take advantage of the low visibility the field offered. As Obsidian went inside, she would find that she would only be able to see a foot or so in front of her. The fusion, having no idea where the gem was, was having just as much difficulty trying to find the other. They crept as quietly as possible. Eventually, they tripped over a crack in the ground the arena created, stomping their foot down in order to catch themselves. In the silent room, they were bound to have been heard.

Obsidian didn't like to mess up like that. She stuck low to the ground when she heard and chose to go perpendicular, to where she hoped she was going behind the fusion.

SPINEL cerтιғιed proѕpecтorx♢ Mood ---xxxxxxxxxxx♢ Location The Barracksxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx♢ Company ObsidianThe fusion stilled, sweat forming on her brow. This wasn't how she liked to fight, not at all. She squeezed her eyes shut and growled in frustration before standing up straight with her hands balled into fists. Her voice bellowed, "This is stupid! Just come out and fight me!"Meanwhile, Spinel observed from afar, able to spy on the two with the technology provided from the arena. On the screen on the podium, she could see through the clouded air as Obsidian made her move towards the rubies. It was far too soon to tell how this would play out.

Caught them. Obsidian moved up slowly on the source of the voice. Hopefully she'd get there before they decided to move... Her grip on her sword tightened and she wished she did full invisibility. For some reason, she could only do partial... It was really irritating. She could walk unhindered otherwise.

SPINEL cerтιғιed proѕpecтorx♢ Mood ---xxxxxxxxxxx♢ Location The Barracksxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx♢ Company ObsidianSpinel smiled. Looks like Obsidian managed to find the fusion. Though, with all the noise she was making, it could hardly be called an accomplishment. With that in mind, Spinel couldn't just let Obsidian take her by surprise like that. It was just too easy, and Obsidian needed a challenge. The gem glanced down at the controls, her claw-like fingers quickly plugging in commands. The ground between the two gems shifted oh so slightly, a small rift appearing suddenly to let out an audible burst of steam. All that was needed to get the fusion's attention. The ruby fusion turned around, recoiling from the startling noise. When the steam cleared, she could see Obsidian's partially visible figure. "You!" She growled accusatory. In the midst of observing this battle, Spinel didn't even notice that an unauthorized gem had appeared among them. The lower level soldiers, and even those higher up, were probably excited to see a moonstone in the barracks. Noble gems, and those who serve them, were a rarity to see. It was quite special.

After a war council meeting with White Diamond and the other warrior class gems, Ruby headed back to the barracks. She was accompanied by several of the quartz soldiers that also sat on the council with her. They were all quietly discussing Yellow Diamond's missing ruby squad, which was now Ruby's headache to deal with. She waved goodbye to the other quartzes and split off. Ruby slowed her pace when she saw several squads of rubies congregating at the arena.
She groaned when she heard the unmistakable voice of a ruby fusion, and immediately headed for the arena control area. She could just barely make out what looked to be a Spinel hovering at the controls; that in itself was odd. As she neared the arena she saw the fusion through the steam. Ruby tapped a few buttons on the side of her visor to lock in on the fusion, and after a quick search through the gem database she was able to pull up the facets and cuts of each individual gem.
They were all young. Two of them had only been deployed once, while the third was so new that she probably still had dirt on her gem! Ruby doubted they had ever even fused before. Senior members of their squadron had probably volunteered the newbies for a good laugh. They would be reprimanded later. Ruby growled a swear under her breath when she saw that they had been pitted against an Obsidian--hardly a fair fight for fresh gems, even when fused. The various Quartzes and Rubies parted to make way for Ruby when they saw who she was.
She marched up to the control area, and immediately addressed the Spinel.
"I want to know what's going on here." Ruby stated, crossing her arms over her chest. Ruby stared worriedly down at the fusion, then turned to reprimand the Spinel.
"But first, I want you to shut this down. Immediately. Those three Rubies are fresh out of the ground. They aren't fit for fusion yet. This could end with someone cracked or shattered."
She looked at all the rubies around them, some of which were in earshot. So Ruby leaned in, and said in a lower voice, "You, of all gems, should know that corundum is in very short supply. A cracked gem is a death sentence for a Ruby right now."
