The Nantili had not been awake for very long in this world. She could not even begin to fathom trying to explain how she was aware of this. She only knew that she became sentient when she became aware her heart was beating.
It had been a steady rhythm of her own body beginning to work that brought her to consciousness. With the intake of her first breath she had awakened and was thrust full force into existing. She was aware of this because everything suddenly worked together at once. Her legs, her paws and these… things, on her back. They were apart of her as much as her head was, she was aware of this. What they were used for she did not know. Curiously she moved the limbs, feeling as they moved to her will. She unfurled them, then folded them back up. She repeated this movement, intrigued with the feeling of how they moved and worked together with the rest of her being. She stopped adjusting them once she decided to let them hang unfurled against her side.
She could sense that underneath her was something soft she was resting upon. Something lush, living but not in the same sense that she lived? Was that such a way to describe it? The Nantili took a deep breath in, smelling the fresh air and feeling welcomed by this world. How pleasant!wc: 233

It had been another wonderful and Beautiful day! It was still early and the great warm light of the sky had started on it's daily journey across the sky. On this peaceful day, a rich and full sound could be heard bouncing among the clouds, that is if one listened carefully enough...
"~Love he found, but she-a nahtil that was already bound...~"The rich tone that could be faintly heard from a brown b'alam that was flying lofty amoung the clouds.
"~Desire and longing came sweetly from roguish maw. Tales of adventure, teased at ears with wonder.~" The song was steady, but faded about as Talltale shifted his fight pattern about the sky. Careful eyes had spotted what looked to be another on b'alam's main land. Dark ears turned back, as his curiousness was poke at. The Nahtil, he had spotted had feather wings like his own, yet was on the main land like some poor helpless and trapped earth b'alam.
How curious.
The brown Tahtill couldn't keep himself from swooping down to investigate. It wasn't often he didn't see a wind b'alam he didn't recognize, let alone one that was on the main and and looked to be taking a snooze. It was so contrary from their nature, at least she had some nice lushious grass to bed on. That wasn't something one could find on their floating island. So Maybe that was it.
"~And soon, Such promises, would turn her eyes from first lover....~" Talltale finished another line of the song he sung as he paws touched down to the ground. darker wings carefully folded on his back, before ruffling slightly and neatly rested on his back.
"Sastipe, Phen!" The Tah greeted cheerfully. His voice was rich, and thick with a strange accent. A certain accent that was normal among his kind and about the island. One could only assume it was learned from their gypsy magus and leader. Swift paws carried the bard almost soundlessly closer to the Nahtil. Not purposely of course, just one was

Someone was here.
Curiously the Nan lifted her head to search for him. As if on instinct. There was no benefit in this action however, she couldn’t tell if he was any closer or further then she had initially. It was strange in a way, sensing his arrival. She knew of where he was in relation to her.. Even that he was a he! How very intriguing!
As he spoke to her the nan could not fathom the words he had used. They held no meaning in her newly born mind. She felt inclined to respond to him however. A frown burrowed on her face as the Nan moved her jaw and tongue. She made a few noises as she did such, and then as if something had simply clicked her noises started resembling words. “Youu… Who… Who are you?”wc: 140

Talltale's careful foot steps paused as he watched and head the Nahtil stutter out her words. Stopping, Timber's head turned a little as his ears perked forward. As his head turned full to the side, he couldn't help but wonder and think on the situation.
Hmm, She seemed started. His foot steps slowed, it wasn't anything he wanted to do. He had merely said 'greetings' in their wind language. It was something common among their islands.
Ears shifted and arched forward more as he grasped her words. Who was he?
Hm. A curious thought crept though his mind....
Could she have been newly woven?
Well, it wouldn't be the first time he had witnessed or meet another like such.
"I am known as Talltale." The Tahtlil spoke and slowly lowered his head in a bow. His wings folded and lowered beside him in a elegant display.
"Pardon," His thick accent ring politely. "Are you newly woven?" Brown tail shifted behind him curiously as he rose once more to his full height.
He has seen the familiar bewilderment before, though if she was newly woven-would she know what that was?

Talltale. Was that what creature he was? A talltale animal? Or was such his identity? She was about to ask him that when he posed his own question for her to dwell on. The Nantili took a moment to think on it. Newly.. Woven? What was woven, weaving? She knew the words but she struggled to come up with a meaning to go alongside them. She assumed that she would learn, given time. That such would just come naturally to her, as speaking just had.
“N… No? Yes? I um.” She gave a huff as she thought up an explanation for it. “I haven’t ‘been’ for very long.” She figured that was a good way of putting it. She still felt hazy about the woven question, and so asked, “Are you ‘newly woven’? What is… ‘newly woven’?”

Talltale stilled himself from approaching too closely to the newly woven Nahtlil. As more questions came from her maw, and it was noticeable that she didn't understand what he asked her.
Slowly, the bard lowered his hunches to the ground, brown tail raised and shifted up before curling carefully around his feet.
The Wind b'alam had a feeling he would be there for a while, which was okay. The teacher didn't have anything else planned for the sun's passing.
TallTale's head shifted in a nod as she repeated his words in a different manner.
"I am not." The thick accent answered back to the Nahtlil. Smiling he offered an understanding look.
"It mean's exactly whut ju jest said." The Tahtill smiled. "ju Haven't 'been' 'arry long." The brown b'alam's gaze blinked as his tail uncurled and he looked about the Nahtlil, taking in her careful and new movements. He figured it would be best for her to ask all the questions she would like, it was her event after all. She had just started to exist there was so much to learn...

She took a moment to digest the information. Alright, so “Woven” was a term for existing. “Newly Woven” implied they hadn’t existed for very long. So what did that make this Talltale Creature then? Oldly Woven? Hmm.
“Are there others?” She asked. “Are they also ‘newly woven’? Or are they ‘oldly woven’ like you?” Or was it just them in the world? She somehow doubted this, but it was a possibility.
The Nahtlil felt the desire to move from her resting spot and lifted her paw off the ground. Then she lowered it, flexed her claws and gently touched the grass she sat on with fascination. “What is this… stuff?” She inquired. She had so many questions, she hoped the Talltale Creature didn’t mind!

Tall Tale's green eyes flickered as the newly woven Nahtlil seemed to be putting all the new information together. The bard had seen it several times. Though on more focus and even more careful inspection of new b'alam's eyes-something seemed different about them. They where bright and full of beautiful life, just as he and seen with every newly woven he had came across-yet hers....were different. Strange and curious but as for 'what way', he couldn't place his paw on it. Especially at such a distance.
Orange ears perked forward as the gold and green Nahtlil's next question.
"Oh, 'est. Dat, is toh say yoh are correct, phen." The rich accented word rolled uniquely from his brown maw. "Dare are many, many others. Old and new." The Tahtil's brown wings shifted a little on his back as paws drew him closer to the Nahtlil.
"And dah Grand Weaver is only jes' getting started." A chuckle softly rumbled from the bard as he let his eyes peer more closely at the Nahtlil's bright violet gaze. Careful tail shifted curiously behind him in a loopy twist.
He had only gotten about a b'alam's stride before her next question poked at his careful ears. Such a curious question caused the Wind b'alam to blink, before his own gaze glanced at the ground.
The Grass?
"Dah Grass?" The question left the b'alam with a curious tone of amusement. "Well, some d'ay it's b'alam's natural blanket. Keeps dah ground warm and sa'of for dah paws." Brown tail shifted once more, as a content smile relaxed on the b'alam's maw.CaliWolfe Talltale Because I forgot to link him, Sorry! [/quote [kubo count stops here]

“Grass.” She repeated, a smile emerged on her maw. She patted the substance delightfully. So soft! So strange! She gave a little giggle as she pet it a few more times, amused that it was a “natural blanket”, then she set about to the task of rising from her the spot her body was lying on. She wanted to stand and… and well, that was just about as far she had thought. She didn’t know what she’d do once she stood, only that the desire to be not lying here filled her mind.
Pushing down on the ground with her newly formed muscles she slowly heaved herself up off the grass. The limbs on her sides had unfurled as did such, acting as extra balancers as she attempted to steady herself. When it became clear that her body knew how to hold her own weight, that she wasn’t going to topple over or anything like that, she grinned widely with her success. “Tall-tale creature! I am ‘Up!’ Not on the grass-blanket!” She felt the need to voice her current posture, for as far as she knew the Tall-tale creature was as just as unable to see as she was.

A soft chuckle left the Tahti, as he watched the Nahtlil raise and test out her legs and paw. She was doing really quiet well. Brown tail shifted a little at a curious thought. How long would it take her to learn to fly? It usually took newly carved cubs a couple of tries and days before they where able to do so, but that was because their wings where not strong enough or as coordinated as an adults...
"Jes. Yoh are doing very good." Talltale smiled. "I can see dat." The Tahtil spoke watching the nahtlil with his own feeling of pride. This was another that was woven in the world, and one he knew would do just fine as the others he saw woven.
"Yoh will be fly'n in noh time, Nahtlil." The winged b'alam encouraged, not understanding yet that the Nahtlil didn't have something the others did. Which was physical sight. Brown legs slowly lowered his orange ridged hunches to the the soft grass under them. Brow tail curled and wrap it's self around his legs. Dark earthy wings folded comfortably on his back.

Flying? She thought about that word for a moment and strived to locate a concept to attach it to. Lifting. Elevating. Being up. Kind of how right now she was up and away from the grass. Well, save for her legs. Those seemed to want to stay on the ground.
She stretched out the limbs on her sides curiously. Was flying what these were for? For carrying her away from the touch of the grass? The idea of it sounded fun! However for now she’d take things slow. Continue asking questions to gain a better understanding of the world. Then she’d partake in this fun flying activity.
“Is Nahtlil what I am called?” She asked. She sensed a.. Kinship with Tall-tale. They were the same, and yet they were not. They both had this ability to fly, yet something about the two was different. “You said you are a Tall-tale creature. Am I a Nahtlil creature? And both Tall-tale and Nahtlil are b’alam?” That was it! The kinship. Both the same type of creature. Yet both different souls. Both different… kinds. Genders?
She switched her focus to trying to move. She leaned forward and carried her paw away from the grass, hovering it in the air for a moment with uncertainty. If she set it down in the wrong place, would she fail to touch anything? Would she begin to move down? Fall? She shook this doubt away and set her paw down. If she was close to falling off something surely the Tall-tale creature would inform her?

TallTale smiled as he watched the Nahtlil stretch and test out her long nice woven legs. Green eyes watched and widened slightly with interest as he watched her wings flare out and stretch. Brown tail shifted behind him to elongate and shift in a mindless sway behind him. Slowly the darker tail shifted back and forth with a calming sweep.
Curiously Talltale's head tilted to the side at the Nan's next question, was 'Nahtlil' was what she was called? Hm, that was a good question. Admittly it was the first time a newly woven had even thought to ask such a thing. Brilliant! It was obvious, with all her wonderful questions she was a very curious and searching one. Perhaps that was just wind b'alam nature. It was wonderful. How Grand the Weaver was.
"Well, jes and no." The brown and orange b'alams tail continued to shift behind him. That wild resting smile, still remained on his maw in interest. He would never get tire of all the questions, Talltale was a teach among their tribe-so it was something that he was use to doing. The Grand Weaver had seemed to have blessed him with a great deal of patients, or perhaps a eagerness to teach and answer questions. All which where fine with the Tahtil.
A rich chuckle left the Tall-taled creature at the Nahtlil's next set of words. Well, she wasn't wrong, and she was somewhat putting it all together-she however was just missing some more information.
"jes, in dat 'Nahtlil' is what you are." Talltale went on to explain. "but, no in dat isn't who yoh are" The b'alam started to explain. " I am a 'Tahtil'," Talltale went on to say, raising a paw and placing it carefully on his chest, guesting to himself. " but who I am is 'Talltale'. " The Teacher went on to nod, no 'creature' inculded. " It tiz my name. We all are given one."
The Tahtil's tail shifted once more behind him as his smile grew.
"Yoh hav' one toh, it's given to yoh on de winds. If yoh listen closely enough, yoh can hear it whispering deep inside yoh." Talltale softly spun his words, giving evidance to why his wind name was 'Talltale'.
"and not jes one but two of dem..."

So Names were.. Individual. Special. Unique to each b’alam. Talltale was a Tahtil creature- er, gender. She was a Nahtili gender. That made sense, and she felt a pang of joy at the fact that it made sense. She had figured it out! Though she did not see Talltale pointing to himself she got the general idea from his words.
His unique name was Talltale. Her name, her unique identity… She would hear it on the winds?
Stopping in her lumbering around for a moment the Nahtili tried her very best to remain perfectly still. The wind, she imagined, was very quiet. Therefore she would have to be quiet as well to hear it speak to her!
She did not hear much of anything at first. Her ears spun madly as she tried her best to listen to the wind as it brushed over the landscape. ‘Ssss’ That was the noise it made from rushing by the grass. “Sss.” But she doubted “Sss” was the only portion of her name. It seemed… uncompleted using a faint hissing noise by itself.
Casting her head upward she felt (though couldn’t see) as something warmed her fur. It felt like it was natural warming, not a grass-blanket type warming. Such fascinated her. What was the thing warming her.
‘Sun.’ Yes Sun. “Sss” and Sun. Sunny. Sin? Syn. Synne!
“Synne! The wind said my name is Synne!” She told Talltale excitedly. She even did a little hop out of joy and gave a cheerful laugh in her delight. “It gave me name!~ A name! A wonderful name.” She continued her bouncing for a few more moments then stopped and settled down a little “It did not say another name yet.” Though if Talltale said that it would give her two names, she would eagerly await for another name to be given to her!
After pacing around a few more times Synne felt as if she mastered walking. She hardly appeared graceful at it. Her legs were still wobbly and she still lacked an altogether proper sense of balance, but she felt confident in her walking capabilities! If Synne had been more truthful with herself it was rather she was excited to go flying now. Like, right this moment now. “Will the wind tell me another name if I go up off the grass-blanket Talltale? I want to do that then!”

The brown and orange b'alam remained perfectly still as the Nahtlil became motionless herself. That was it. Timber's own ear's turned forwarded and perked as if he too could hear the impossible. Which was silly, because the teacher knew better-it was all just very exciting, and something that perhaps one day will derserve a song. Wind Waker would enjoy that, and no doubt be willing to help-especially with his newly carved on the way. It truly was a new and exciting time for everyb'alam it seemed. Earth tone tail, shifted it's tip up and down a little as Tall Tale eagerly waited to hear the new Nahtlil's name. This was an exciting time for her as well, and he still had no idea that she was woven with out sight.
Ears perked and raised more as words started to softly hiss from the Nahtlil. Their she goes, she was getting it. In suspense, the Tahtlil leaned foward just a bit, he could feel his fur start to stand on end. How exciting. Slowly his head nodded as if to wordlessly encourage that she was getting close to hearing her name, his tail shuttered a little behind him.
Yes, even closer now....
Synne! What a wonderful name!
As Synne announced her name, TallTale leapt up in the sky too as if caught up by a contagious wind that she herself brought forth.
"Jes! and what a beautiful name the Grand Weaver's great wind has given yoh, Synne!" the Tahlil smiled at the Nahtlil. His own dark paws had done well to return to the earth under them.
Long brown tail raised and rattled slightly behind Talltale, as his green eager eyes rested themselves on Synne as she contuined to speak of her excitement. Only one name so far, well that was okay!
"Not everyb'alam is given, both wright away...." Talltale smiled to her excitement, and his head titled a little as he thought about it. "And some even make up dare own." The Tahtlil let her knew after a moments consideration, the b'alam he had first been signing about had made up his own name, and denied his wind one...
careful ears turned about and perked once more as Synne went on about 'going up'. His tail lifted one more and gave a curious sway, he took a paw step closer.
"Ah!" He soothed. "Yoh mean, fly." A chuckle left Talltale's maw after his words left his maw. "Well, yoh can always try." The smile on Timber's maw slipped in to a coy grin.
They where after all woven to do such a thing....

Some made up their own names instead of waiting for the wind to provide a second one? Huh. If they were impatient or just didn’t feel like listening hard enough to the voice of the wind then it made sense to give oneself a second name. Synne would be patient though. She would listen closely as she flew away from the grass blanket for a second name to be heard by her ears.
Unaware of how to begin this flying activity that Talltale had mentioned to her twice now, Synne decided to start with what she had just learned in the last few minutes. The side limbs- she had theorized these would be for “flying”. Hmm.
The Nan lowered herself and tucked her legs underneath her midreigon. She wasn’t sure if it would work or not but she bounced her entire body up and down a few times, allowing her “side limbs” to move limply with the action. With each hop she completed she analyzed the moments well. She felt as her side limbs caught the tiniest drafts of wind and how the soft part of these side limbs reacted to the push and pull of the new wind currents underneath.
After about the eighth time of hopping Synne shouted to Talltale “This flying is very exhausting! I have not even discovered how to leave the grass blanket yet!”
Hmm. She felt she -almost- had it, but not quite. She was missing something, some important thing that would allow her to stop landing on the grass blanket except for when she wished to. What was it though? What was she not doing?
