He couldn't believe it. Seung and his family, Terry included, had only arrived back from South Korea the day before and they had no power. Apparently there had been really bad storms and their power had been knocked out, and would be out for days. it was hot, too hot, and there was no air conditioning in his apartment. The heat was something he was used to but still disliked, why would he like something which made him sweaty and sticky?

Seung had taken two cool showers during the day in order to cool off but now that it was evening it was cooler out, more pleasing, and there was moisture in the air. There would be rain, later tonight or tomorrow, from what he felt and smelled in the air. but not yet and it was a good time to go out and get a late night dinner and something to drink. He could have asked Terry to join him but he didn't, Terry needed time to recoup after the vacation. He had been subjected to a culture shock and a fourteen hour difference in time zones.

The trip out for food had led him first to Gong Cha for a cold drink, bubble tea, and now Seung was stepping into a small place to eat. The food wasn't familiar to him, it was American, but the smell had gotten to him as he'd been walking by the place. To be honest he wasn't sure if it was American food or not...just that it wasn't familiar food for him.

Looking around, hoping to catch sight of anything to help him figure out what was served here, to give him ideas of what to order, the male flipped his dual colored hair from his face. One hand was stuffed into the front pocket of the tight, ripped up, red and black plaid jeans he wore. Shifting his weight as he glanced about, dark eyes seeking some help...without him having to ask.

Summer lasted far too long, in Paris's opinion.

Years ago, summer was her favorite season. Hot weather meant short shorts and bathing suits, beach trips and shirtless men. None of that had changed, of course, but the weather itself was somehow less appealing than it used to be when she was a teen. Not only was it unbearably hot and muggy, but the summer months made up the heart of baseball season. Time dragged on and on and on, so close to the off season when Chris would be home for longer than a few days to a couple of weeks, but still too far away to be cause for much excitement.

Presently, Paris sat at a table perusing a menu. She was alone—a rare occurrence these days, as she was typically seen in the company of her mother-in-law or the twins. Their absence left Paris feeling a bit out-of-sorts, and she quickly began to second guess her decision to stop for a bite to eat before picking the twins up at her in-laws' house.

She pulled her eyes away from the menu and lifted her head to stare into space for a moment, considering her options. It was as this point that she noticed a familiar figure just coming in through the door.

“Seung!” she called.

Paris stood from her table and waved him over. She didn't look nearly as put together as she usually did when she was out in public, dressed this time in a pair of purple yoga shorts, and a bright pink tank top over a black sports bra. Her feet were encased in a simple pair of sneakers, her bangs braided back and tied up with the rest of her hair in a high messy bun. Her face was make-up free and a bit flushed from recent activity.

“Come sit with me! I'm lonely! I haven't seen you in a while! Did you just get back in town?”

Surprised to hear someone call his name, especially when memory didn't serve him well on who the voice belonged to. He did however know that face, when he turned toward the voices owner. While Paris didn't have make up - he did. It was rare for him not to in fact. Listening to her words he nodded his head slowly and made his approach.

"Yes, few days ago. Was visiting family...how did you know?" He questioned, there was no way she was just guessing at something like that. His hair, black now with reddish purple streaks in it, stood out almost as much as the blond and brown combination had. In fact...there was little about him which didn't stand out and he was ok with that normally. he hadn't really been the last time he'd been around Paris, with just how prim and proper her and her husband were. he felt...very off around them. Now though, as he looked her over, he felt better, like he stood out less.

"Out to get dinner." Though he'd already gotten a drink, something cold with little round balls in the bottom of the cup. The straw was wide enough to fit the pearls up it, and did just that as he took a sip from his drink.

"Too heated earlier for food." So he'd skipped lunch and breakfast, as it had been too hot early in the morning as well, and he was finally getting hungry. Terry, who didn't think he ate enough, would be scolding him if he heard those words from his mouth. Thankfully the other had no idea, and never would.

“I follow you online, silly,” Paris explained. She plopped back into her seat and used her feet to push out the chair across from her, inviting Seung to sit.

“I may or may not stalk people,” she continued, and showed absolutely no shame in the habit. “I don't work anymore, so when the babies are down for their naps, I have a lot of free time on my hands. The internet's one of the only ways I have to keep track of people these days if I'm not right in the middle of everything, and I like to see what everyone's up to, so...”

She failed to mention that she had a particular interest in what Knights of Ganymede were getting up to in their spare time, but she figured that went without saying anyway. It wasn't that she was trying to intrude on their lives or that she wanted to keep tabs on them, she just thought that if they were going to wander around the city with her powered name attached to theirs, she should try her best to be friends with them and get to know a bit about them. What better way to do that than a little online stalking?

“Do you go overseas a lot?” Paris asked. “I feel like I might have seen that you went earlier this year, too. You know, after all that mess... uhh... with... you know... the huge fiasco that was our completely chaotic invasion.”

Her face twisted into an exaggerated wince. She was never quite sure how to talk about powered things in public without sounding like a complete weirdo.

"Oh!" He was, like many, a user and consumer of social media. He might be attached to his phone, and when not his phone than his ipod. To know someone was watching him on there, stalking him, was bit...odd. But it wasn't bothersome, he didn't make it a habit to post things there he didn't want people to know. The only time that happened was when he'd gone for the Lunar New Year and asked his cousin to post things for him, his cousin had posted more than he'd wanted. Oh god...Paris likely had seen all that too...well maybe? Damn.

Taking the seat pushed out, food for the moment forgotten, he sat watching the blond. His fingers brushed his hair from his face before settling into his lap.

"Babies..." Thinking back he couldn't remember hearing anything about children. Taking his seat he mentally shrugged, he shouldn't be too surprised. It made sense though that she spend a lot of time on line then, a stay at home mother who didn't get out a lot - made sense. Though it seemed she was a social butterfly sort, or had been, and couldn't be as much any more.

"I do...moved here from Seoul in September. Early in year, right after that, was New Year...Lunar New Year." He corrected himself after a moment. It wasn't so celebrated here, though people might make mention of it or you'd see a decoration or nod to it. The only area it was big were the Asian communities. "Is the biggest holiday and time to be with family. This was summer trip to see family - summer vacation here." He would be going next year for the Lunar New Year as well.

I just did a few solo's for him. http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=24802233&page=5
Last two on page 5 and first on page 6. They are for the weekend which just passed. If Paris is good with stalking her knights, or people, she might have found his Korean social media site. ::Looked it up:: http://www.kakao.com/story
So she might know what no one else does. He went back for a weekend trip and for what he went.

“So your family still lives in Korea then?” Paris asked.

She wasn't sure how much she really knew about Seung's family. She certainly didn't know what his reasons were for being in the States—or Destiny City, of all places. She might have a habit of stalking people online, but her memory wasn't always the best, and with so much to look through it was sometimes a little difficult for her to retain information. She could make some educated guesses and she might end up being right, but in the end she thought it best to hear about Seung's life from Seung himself.

“I actually have family overseas, but I've never met them. My dad grew up in France,” she explained. “I've never left the U.S., though. I've actually barely been outside of Destiny City. I've been to Boston a couple of times, and then to Florida, but that's about it. I can't imagine what it must be like to come all the way here. Traveling isn't so easy now with kids. Chris and I have twins. They'll be a year old in October.”

She stopped herself before she could ramble on more. She didn't want to end up taking over the entire conversation by talking about herself, especially when she was interested in hearing about Seung's adventures.

Paris looked down at her menu every once in a while, quickly scanning through her options as they conversed, but she was far more interested in hearing what Seung had been up to than she was what she planned on eating. When someone approached their table to take their order, Paris picked at random, choosing a cranberry walnut chicken salad sandwich with a bowl of tomato basil soup and a glass of sweet tea.

“Get whatever you're in the mood for,” Paris told Seung. “It'll be my treat. I've been here a few times before, so if you have any questions or if you want any recommendations, don't be afraid to ask.”

"All but parents and younger cousin. Younger sis was here but moved back, for better schooling." So she could return to her friends, to a familiar school system, and so she could go to a hagwon. There was one, a small one, in Korea Town but it was nothing like back at home. She had gone back to have friends, unlike what she had here, and to gain a better education - so she had a good future. She would, like he would, make their parents proud and succeed as they were expected to.

Being close to his family, celebrating holidays together, going to concerts together, and spending time together in general he couldn't imagine not ever seeing parts of his family. He knew his aunts and uncles, his cousins and any kids they had. He knew his family. "You should travel, when little ones are older, see some of the world...is very big." And very different. Very different cultures, and ways of life were to be found, as he had learned coming here. He's been to Japan once or twice, since he had an elder cousin living there, but it wasn't as different as here was.

"Maybe not seek out family in France...but see what it is like?" And children would surely enjoy it, right?

"Was a surprise moving here...some warning. Enough time to know this city had problems...but easy to find that." It had been very easy, considering the hold the Negaverse had he was somewhat surprised really. But who could censor social media, all of it? It was an impossible thing really and he had found out the reputation of this city, even before becoming a knight. "Buisness father worked at back home...has branch here. High up man went missing here so father was...promoted and sent here." It was a simple explanation and it was what had happened, why or how the American had gone missing was unknown to him. He could speculate all he wanted and perhaps be right, he'd never know.

The menu had, mostly, gone unnoticed by him since reading it all would be hit and miss. But when the waiter approached to take orders he opened one of them to skim over. "Don't know...never had food here and some is...not words I know. School teaching the needed ones, not foods." Especially any of the odder, not as common, items which were used in some places.

"Just no nuts..." He said knowing he should mentioned that, he didn't need to have another hospital trip. The other one he'd explained away to his family...another would be impossible and if Xander was there...he'd be in trouble with Xander and his sister Lily - no thank you.
