The summer air was lingering on, sweeping the city with it's warm air. It was about a few minutes passed six when d**k Grayson took on an evening strode through the city. Just the right time to go out as the climate would start to cool down. He revs his engine, skidding past traffic of rushing 9 to 5's. Around this time it would be the most congested, fact being that most people that work in the city don't actually live in the city. Fortunately, he makes up for the possible loss of time through his civilian motorbike. It was a bit unsettling though, considering the fact that he had other things clearly in mind that kept bothering him throughout most of the day. Albeit, thinking these thoughts makes him more attentive with his surroundings and altercations of what may come. With the possibility of danger for the oblivious people of Gotham, he can only pray tell what would have to come for the future- and hope Bruce has some level of means to stop it. He had zoomed past Robert Kane's memorial bridge now, and was seeking to travel onto the greenlands of the rich estates that accompanied the rural area. From down below a distance he could see Wayne Manor sitting above a hill, watching and overlooking the city. Enjoying the scenery, around this time he tended to pick up the pace with most cars lack of presence and all. Taking an exit off to a bridge over his current route, he took a left for the bridge and continued on straight before he increased the gear. He always had a knack for the rush.

Cruising onward for the rest of his travel, his much needed speed died down when he decided to take the ride a little more easier for a change. He realized he needed to prepare himself and while doing so he keeps himself cool for the incoming conflict he was surely about to face.. and boy it's going to be a troubling one. He thinks about the other women in his life, Barbara and Kory and how they impacted his life. You're here to get to know her, d**k. That's it. Simple as that. The cooling breeze from the fresh air made from the surrounding trees added to his endeavor. Approaching an unfamiliar mansion property, he swallowed his pride as he slowed down to the accessible gates that allowed him to cross through. Half a minute passed while traveling up the bumpy hill, which felt like it had passed more than two minutes in his point of view. The garden designs were very 'exquisite', he laughed aloud as he thought of the word. The final sounds of the running engine ended as he turned the key and switched the vehicle off, pulling himself off of it while doing so. He pulled the helmet, revealing his more or less messy hat hair. He placed it aside as he walked over to the door entrance, digging his hand into his hair to fix it. Pulling off his gloves, he knocks on the door of Ariadne's home. Okay, d**k. It's just like any other kind of gal. Surely this wasn't the case, but whatever he's in for is surely something else entirely.

With the approved requests of Ms. Marcos, Bruce found it to be fitting and not at all a burden to bare Alfred's company for the young deprived woman. By the hobtop, gourmet dishes were in the works by none other than Alfred T.C. Pennyworth himself. Hearing a knocking sound by the door, he looks at his wrist and made a subtle exclaim before realizing who the mysterious guest could be. With a semi wet towel he rubs his hands with it to cleanse the specimens of his food duties. Removing his cooking apron, he hangs it to a kitchen wall hanger before walking off past the abled path to the door. Unlocking the required locks, he opens it with a fair welcoming presence before interaction. He smiled, looking before him was Master Grayson, an eager facial representation surely ready to encounter the dear Ms. Marcos. "Ah, Master Grayson. Surely you must not be visiting for this old man before you." Quick witted as always, he hung the door for him to enter before closing it shortly behind him.

This was major. The young woman had spend the few hours before the allotted time Richard was to be here and frankly... she hadn't a clue what to wear. A dress, something posh and pretty, or something casual and comfortable? She must have tried on every bit of clothing she had in her closets and wardrobes. She finally found the outfit laid out for her by none other than Alfred. Aria swore... that man was a God Send.

She tried it on and smiled in the mirror. It was a comfortable mix of casual comfort and spring loveliness. Jeans with a light floral blouse and a light coat to go with it if needed. Bless that man, she thought as she looked at herself once more before heading out her room. The sound of the doorbell froze her on the staircase, her heart jumping to her throat for some reason. He was just a ... a new friend... no need for all this...whatever it was. She saw Alfred pop out of the kitchen to answer the door. The very sight of Richard entering the foyer was enough to catch her breath. Had she someone forgotten just how amazingly attractive he was or had he gotten even better looking since earlier? That simply had to be illegal.

"Good evening..." She managed to get out with a smile and she finished walking down the stairs. "I hope I'm not overdressed?"

Half a minute passed as he stoodby waiting for an answer. While doing so his eyes focused on the gardens, examining the intricacy of the designs. Hearing the door shuffling to open behind him, he turned around briefly to see Alfred beside the door. He smiled at his old friend. "Hey, Al." "Ah, Master Grayson. Surely you must not be visiting for this old man before you." d**k chuckles, "Nah, Al. I'm visiting for that dry witty humor you carry around with you." He remarked, stepping inside on the polished floor. He placed his hand on Alfred's shoulder before sliding it off, "I'm kidding, Al. I'm here for Aria." Looking around, he whistled in amusement. "This place makes Bruce's Manor in need of redecorating." He joked, continuing to spot Ariadne out somewhere. "Where is she by the way?..." Hearing light footsteps coming from the second floor, he would look at the person greeting as she walked down the stairs. His eyes focused on her frame, changing ever so slightly when her eyes made contact with his. Wow."I hope I'm not overdressed?" "No--" He clears his throat. "-Not at all." He gives her one of his widened smiles as he stared at her a bit too long. "It's nice seeing you again."

In the same instance as d**k would notice Miss Aria coming down the stairs, his face brightened to her significant appearance. He set out a welcoming smile in case she would glance over at him. Before d**k would respond Alfred quickly followed suit of Miss Aria's questioning statement. "It looks to be rather lovely, my dear."Alfred watched idly, standing beside the door entrance as the two youngsters exchanged greeting. A subtle brow lifted as he soon realized what was concurrently happening as of this moment. With his hands folded behind his back and with a poised posture he began to speak, "Yes well, I'm sure the two of you require the 'getting to know each other' routine- or whatever the hip impressionable youngsters say nowadays." He stepped a foot forward, chin high looking at the both of them simultaneously as he would continue. "I have yet to finish the meals that I would like to serve for the forthcoming evening. Though not quite finished, I am confident that you both would be able to fill in the remainder of the time until then." He looks over at Richard, glaring at him as a hint of proposition for what he should do. "The gardens had been especially groomed early this morning," He switches glances to Ariadne. "Miss Aria tells me she adores the artistic designs and the overall detailed atmosphere....Perhaps you can guide Mister Grayson there for a tour before I prep up the meal?"

"Oh, the gardens sound nice!" She said maybe a bit too excitedly. Aria tried to smother her nervousness better. Don't want to sound too eager... after all it was just... hanging out. Gosh, wasn't like they were dating or something. "Ah, yes.. of course, I will make sure he is shown all of my lovely and well-cared for grounds and gardens." She paused as it sounded misleading, but continued to hold her hand out to escort him back outside to the wide landscape beyond the door.

"Don't worry, I won't let the spiders bother you." She whispered, she just knew there would be spiders everywhere... not to a terrifying degree, but just more than average. Maybe she would warn them before they got to the gardens so she could make sure they had their webs down before they arrived. Then again, it took near an act of God to get them to stop eating the bees that pollinated everything. That was just one of the drawbacks of larger than average spiders being around... they tended to be hungrier and eat pretty much anything. Aria understood this but it still angered her to see a beautiful hummingbird trapped in a web. Least to say, they were no linger allowed to eat a list of living things.

"Shall we?"

"Sounds good to me. Knowing Al, he cooks the best meals. The longer it takes to cook, the better it is usually." He looks over at her, describing her gardens aesthetically in a nonchalant variety. He grinned in agreement to the both of them. His attention would be taken from her little whisper, his grin grew wider as she tells her little joke. "Shall we?" She asked. "After you, milady." He watched her walk past him and out the door, following her just after. d**k paused in his steps to turn to his old friend, placing a hand on his shoulder as Alfred stoodby the door. "It's nice having you back, Al...Anyway, I'm looking forward to that dish!" He said as he skidded past him to catch up to Aria. As he walked he could hear the door closing behind him, while the sound reciprocated he pulled off his jacket and threw it over his shoulder holding it by the hook from the base of it's collar. The surroundings settled in, leaving them in it's delightful silence and jaunty atmosphere. Breaking the ice he spoke, "How's life back in Gotham treating you?"

"Life in Gotham... now that's a really bad oxymoron..." She looked around out at her land, thinking about how to answer his question. "Well... I guess, I'm okay. I mean... you know, minus all the .. spider... stuff." She generalized it to ease some discomfort talking about how much of a freak she was now. "Lonely, I suppose... that and the moment I ... or rather WE got back there was an assassination attempt on Mr. Wayne's life. So there's that. Which from his reaction... I guess isn't so out of the ordinary for him..." She glanced at d**k as if she was urging him to elaborate on why they looked so confident at the scene instead of scared witless like a normal person would be. Aria let it go and looked down to the ground where a series of rose bushed lines the path.

"I have to admit," she spoke to d**k as they walked, changing the subject. "I am rather jealous of him, Mr. Alfred, I mean. Well, mostly the fact that he technically works for Mr. Wayne and that I cannot keep him around." She winced a bit, "I'm not very... house-wife-y." Aria chuckled a bit, feeling weird at admitting it. "Not much that I know about running an estate like this... unfortunately my father didn't ... get to teach me. That and our hired help was afraid of giant spiders.... and not getting paid." She rolled her eyes with a sigh.

Aria turned to d**k with a soft smile, stopping to sniff a rose. "What about you? Has Mr. Alfred taught you well?" She teased a bit jokingly as she straightened. "Are you a rather good House-husband?" She smiled more at her made-up word for it. "If you are, I wouldn't mind seeing it in action... maybe, like a dinner or a l-lunch..." Oh goodness, that sounded as if she was asking him out for a dinner. She tried to clear up any confusion. After all they were going to a fancy party soon, shouldn't waste all his time. "I mean... if I cooked... well, let's just say that was a rather messy kitchen fire... I never knew pasta could catch fire like that..."

"I guess you're right." d**k agreed through a slight chuckle. She would continue speaking, listening attentively, as she explained the jist of what her mind allows her to tell. Letting him know a few things of what has been troubling her, as well as the subliminal curiosities she seemed eager to present through the shooting of Wayne Tower a couple days prior. d**k smiled at the remark of 'Mr. Wayne', turning over to catch her glance which seemed ever so curious over the coolness of his attendance from the situation. He watched her fade her head to the trail they both followed, his once eager expression turns to a somewhat troubled one. He turned his head forward as they both continued to walk. "You know, when I was was a kid I ran with the circus. We would always be constantly on the road, setting stage for the next city we stop at. My family were trapeze artists, I was too. Having to grow up around danger, I suppose things like that are second nature to me."

"I bet Alfred can teach you a few things while you're with him, get you to become house wife-y material." He winked at her, attempting to ease down her senses. He looked at her, understanding her words and laughed at her joke, or maybe it wasn't.. Still, he found it rather cute. "Well there's always a chance later down the line." He said as he reached for a red rose; breaking it's stem and pricks on the side. With the rose in hand he reached around her ear, parting her hair with his able fingers as he laid the rose's stem on it. "Who knows, maybe we could make dinner together." He grinned.

Was she red? Oh gosh, she felt as red as her eyes! Aria's face felt hot as he put a rose behind her ear. She reached up to touch the rose but accidentally touched his hand there. Oops. She lowered her hand quickly and cleared her throat, trying to not stare all starry-eyed into his eyes like some love-sick puppy. "W-we could.. I mean, have a fire extinguisher handy?" Aria nervously chuckled.

"Sadly, I cannot do anything for you..." She nibbled her bottom lip as she looked around. He had put a rose behind her ear and now she wanted to do something to him, but... "Well... I guess, I could..." Smiling like she had no worries in the world, Aria picked a bright pink daisy and reached over to gently and carefully put it behind his ear. "There." She grinned. "Perfect!"

d**k was a bit startled when Aria placed the daisy on his ear. He smiled wildly and played along with her, to possibly ease the tension less. "Do I look worth taking to dinner yet?" He joked, posing a feminine look for a brief second. "Fair warning though, I don't have sex on first dates." He pulled himself out of the pose, and winked at her; returning to his regular stance he reaches for the daisy. Taking it off his ear, he placed it within his shirt's breast pocket, the pedals lightly poking out as he returned to look into her off-putting but elegant red eyes. For a moment he looked deeply within them, before pulling away to look around at her garden.

If Aria could blush any more red she would be a tomato. She glanced away as he took the flower from his hair and put it in his lapel. Gee, why hadn't she thought of that?! Oh man, that would have been so suave. She was too busy trying to not act shocked to hear someone talking blatantly about sex. It's not exactly something one discussed at length to a dying person and that's exactly what she had been doing for most of her young adult life.

She tried her best to suck it up and mature a bit. Surely he was ... well versed in such.. situations to be so blatant in that topic. Or was he simply joking? She slid her eyes back to him to eye him up and down to judge his body language. Hm... maybe just a joke? The young woman looked down as they walked, "That's good. If you're being serious, I mean." She adjusted the rose behind her ear, just wanting to fidget with something idly.

She found herself staring into his eyes deeply, as if just now noticing their color. "I would like that very much. "Dating... I mean.... Dinner. Making dinner together." She reiterated, feeling her mind go fuzzy every time she stared at him. "Why... uhm, why don't you tell me about yourself? We can make this a first date..."

He cocked a brow, smiling over how she stumbled a few words. When she finished, he continued smiling and nodded till his head faced the ground. He firmly jerks his head back to look at her, somewhat still hanging like it was. With a wink, he began speaking, "What's there to know?" Naturally, he began walking again beside the pathway. He reviewed over his thoughts, recollecting a few things to perhaps say to her. "Let's see... well," He chuckled. Like somehow there was a better way of explaining that he was d**k Grayson by day, and Tight Spandex by night. Although it was good a thought. "Like I said, I was born to a carny family. Since I was eight... I kinda grew out of it but nowadays I've been trying to settle in to a new lifestyle I've been trying out. I think it just may do me some good." He turned his head, studying her face and oh dear was it beautiful. "What about you, what does the lovely red eyed gal would like to tell a guy like me on a first date?" He kept his prose as he changed to look at the path.

Ariadne listened intently, wanting to know everything about him that she could glean from his words and tone. "Carny.... Oh... like Circus folk? Sorry, I've.... never been to circus, or a fair, or a festival, or a carnival, or .... anything really." She sighed a bit, looking down to let her fingers trace a wooden hand rail on the Asian styled stream bridge. She looked back to Richard with a smile. "Well, I hope it works out for you."

"Me... oh, well... I'm kind of embarrassed to say... not much. I've spent most my life so far... dying. Heh.." She tried to clarify, "Not like how everyone is slowly dying as we grow older, I mean in a hospital... literally dying. I was very sick. Oh! But I'm fine now... I'm not like... contagious or anything. I swear." She held her hand over her heart.

What did she want to tell him about herself? That was a good question. "I don't want to depress you with my .... recent-ish tragedy... I'm sure you know about my father being killed..... by a giant... spider guy monster-thing." She frowned and nibbled on the inside of her bottom lip. "A year ago...almost. And of course, I spent some time with Mr. Wayne, being very kind to me. Traveling, seeing the world. I really... I just... " She shook her head unable to verbalize her gratitude. "But... I'm... I mean- there's not much to me, I'm also different. Very... I just don't know what I'm supposed to do now... I was afraid of coming back home." She admitted. "Facing the future of what to do... I guess you could say that I too am trying a new lifestyle." She smiled again, to keep the mood of their talk happy. If only Batman had killed the Recluse before her father had gotten killed they could have been happy... well, she would still be a spider-thing but at least she would have had her father to help her and teach her about life's common things.
