It took Jinxi four days of sleeping on a frameless mattress and eating soggy, microwaved TV dinners due to a lack of a fridge for her to realize she was living in squalor. Well, more along the lines that her next-door neighbor, Geraldine, had to sit her down and explain that her living conditions weren't the best for an average human being. Which meant she should go out and buy something to put in her apartment.
Which meant leaving the sanctity of her home.
Which meant socializing.
Which meant actually... doing something.
None of those were advisable to the white-haired woman until, again, her next-door neighbor warned her she might have to go back to living with her mom. So in great haste, she threw on something clean smelling, grabbed a fistful of dollars she got from mugging people as a Negaverse agent, and got to working hitting the town to buy something. Which translated to going into the first stocked store and picking out the cheapest thing.
Too bad that store was an antiques store.
A myriad of baubles, trinkets, and things lined the walls, shelves, and tables of the establishment; cuckoo clocks of all hours of time ticking away; experiments of all manner of taxidermy snarling and staring blankly come her passing; porcelain statues and snow globes glowing ethereally under the tinkle and clink of the chandeliers above. Jinxi sniffed airily at the musty smell and slumped her shoulders; giving an offhand smile to the man behind the counter before slipping into the back and hoping he didn't follow her around to answer questions she didn't have. She hated this.
Ah, well, um, I guess I'll look around, she said, stopping in front of a shelf. She picked up the figurine of an angel to examine it, but as if she had the strength of ten men, it crumbled to pieces as soon as she did. She could only stand there, stunned, as she tried figure out what to do.
"Oh... O-oh crap...!"

It was an understatement to say that Siobhan had been to this store before. The man at the counter knew her by name, the owner gave her loyalty discounts, and she even had special permission to handle items from the "do not touch without employee assistance" shelves. She never let any of this go to her head, though. Visiting antique stores was more for the fun and the finds, not the ease of service and coupons. This store in particular, however, had a huge selection of "haunted" rings and skull-related medallions, and she didn't want to leave until she'd tried them all on.
Of course, there were plenty of other things for her to get excited about, like a new line of animal figurines she hadn't seen there before. There were plenty of deer, rabbits, and frogs among them, but one little red-eyed raven with missing wing caught her attention right away. She cupped it gently in her palm and cooed.
"Poor little bird, I think I've got room for you back home." She said, before her attention was caught by the sound of someone's voice nearby. She turned her head, blinked, and looked across the way toward Jinxi.
"Good afternoon!" She greeted, before noticing that Jinxi looked stunned. "... Are you alright?"
